I waited months for an appointment. Only to be “interviewed” by a member of staff. Then asked to wait 45 minutes to see the doctor I couldn’t so I made another appointment, that appointment was then changed without informing me so I missed that appointment. Finally I got into see him he was late, rushed through my appointment, I felt like I was an inconvenience to him, didn’t give me time to process what he was telling me. Then proceeded to tell me that the findings from the test that they had performed did not match The depry of the pain and disconfirm I had indicated. Told me he was going to refer me to a rheumatologist. This was all done on Dec 4th And now January 22 the rheumatologist office still have no requisition from him. I took it upon myself to investigate why, my findings were he had only sent the requisition on Jan 14th when I first followed up, they faxed again. Only to find they had the wrong fax number.... Dr Mahar should be disgusted with the his lack of empathy and care he showed me, his patient approach and lack of concern regarding my health and pain management. I’m asking my family doctor to refer me to another neurologist.

Have not yet meet with Maher but my family doctor attempted to get me an appointment previously, Dr. Maher instead referred me to Neurosurgeon at St. Mike's in Toronto because I already had 2 MRI's and a CT scan. I am sure to meet with him in Feb 2018 to review med dosages now. I think people don't understand neurologist vs Neurosurgeon and automatically assume they are equal when they are not. The Neurosurgeon usually orders and reviews the results of scans the Neurologist can also do the same but as I understand now, typically they facilitate treatment and meds along with long term monitoring and ongoing assessments that are non critical to your heath. Is unfair to miss comment if you are not sure why you are seeing a particular specialist, if you need tires changed you wouldn't have the brake specialist do it, he'd likely advise the need is all. UPDATE: Feb 13/2018 - Finally met with Dr. Mahar. The downside was a lack preparedness of his staff upon my initial consult. My medical file with a complete history of my Neurological condition and its current treatment status was provided prior but not reviewed by his staff. This required additional time at the appointment for the nurse to review with me then when Mahar entered the room, a second condensed review occured; this should have been avoided as it made a routine visit much longer than I anticipated. Overall, Mahar is knowledgeable and effectively answered my concerns as well as booked a follow up appointment and arranged an EEG with Royal Vic hospital for his own records. There certainly needs to be more funding and support provided to the Neurological treatment within Ontario; South Western Ontario itself has 3 Neurologists serving thousands if not more patients within its area of operation - Help these folks out please! My life depends on it.

The info on Google hasn't been updated in a while. There is another neurologist at Dr. Maher's clinic who I'd like to leave a review for. Dr. Leslie Witton has been extremely helpful providing details of my 5 year long MS diagnosis which I wasn't previously able to obtain with another neurologist. Dr. Witton has explained calmly and logically the health goals I can prioritize and improve. She has been attentive and understanding over the phone, and the office is very receptive of messages left for the doctors. Max wait time to hear back is 3 days. Appointments and procedures are coordinated carefully with 3rd party medical service providers, changes communicated in a timely manner, informed of any delays. 100/10 I've never had a doctor care so much for my well being. It made me start caring too.

Waited months for an appointment for my 12 year old daughter. The night before appointment office called to tell us it's cancelled because they just realized my daughter is not over 18!! Absolutely disgusting!!

The appointment I attended was in relation to my husband. The prompt and courteous attention of the staff and the thoroughness of Dr. Maher's exam was very much appreciated. He took his time, did not rush us and answered all questions we had. Thank you

Worst doctor , Classic insurance doctor, I am reporting him to the ministry of health as a fraud He's always late for appointments then only spends 10-15 mins when it's an hour appointment and I come from North Bay. Doctor couldn't even ask for a proper MRI- just shows he's for insurance companies and not helped people as a doctor should.

Very satisfied with Dr. Maher and his office staff. He is a calm, thorough and helpful doctor who (while busy), will take the time to answer questions and helpful recommendations. My spouse has had very positive interchanges with Dr. Maher and his assistance Anastasia and we are impressed by how quickly they responded to book another appointment when my wife had a dementia wandering episode.

Dr. Maher is one of the best drs. I have seen very professional very thorough and polite , is staff are nolligable and friendly truly a great dr. As for the wait times that is a government issue NOT the drs. We need more drs. In this province . To the people that put wait times on drs. Do your homework . I have extensive health issues and know all about wait times overcrowding etc.
