I just want to say a huge thank you to Trevor Davies, I just received the fly reel I won in his auction. It's going to go great with the rod I got from him a while back. While completing the deal, I also made a huge purchase of fly tying stuff for my daughter to get a start in the game. Trevor really hooked us up on this deal. 1 day before my annual fishing trip to Maligne Lake, I realized I needed a part for my Minn Kota electric motor and put in a desperate call to Trevor at the Reel Doctor, to see if he had the part. After a great exchange that included me sending an annotated photo showing the part I couldn't seem to properly describe, Trevor figured out my problem and ordered the part. It was delivered in less than 24 hours and my trip was saved, which he seemed just as stoked about as I was! Seriously: try and find that kind of customer service anywhere else. Stopped in this week for the first time to pick up a new reel. Trevor had me set up in no time at a great price and in less than a half hour I left there with more knowledge about how to get onto and catch lakers than I have been able to research on my own in the last two weeks. Looked him up on google (pretty much the only one in town) and took one of my reel's in for a new handle $10.00 and 5 minutes I was done. Second reel I took in, unfixable, but traded for a far better reel and $40.00 10 minutes and $50 bucks later I was outta there! Nothings that cheap anymore! Great experience, wont hesitate to go back!

Excellent service at the Reel Doctor. I brought a Minn Kota motor in that was malfunctioning (due to faulty batteries). I live almost 5 hours out of Edmonton. Trevor pretty much knew what was wrong as soon as I told him what was happening but was pretty busy. After accepting that I may have to drive home and come back in a week or get the motor shipped, which would cost a decent amount, I left the motor to be fixed. Within 10 mins I got a call to come back to pick up my fixed motor. The owner knew I was going to incur additional costs due to my location and got right to work. I can't express how happy I was to get that call. This guy knows his stuff and how to provide "reel customer service" which is hard to find these days!

I lost the handle to my Quantum Smoke SL25PTI spinning reel. To order a new handle direct from Quantum would have been $50 before GST and shipping. Reel Doctor did it for $21.65 after GST and shipping, and it arrived in Calgary the next day. Great customer service at a great price. I'll certainly be coming back.

The cord on my sonar transducer got damaged and a new one was going to cost almost $200. I spoke to Trevor about the possibility of repairing the damaged one. I really appreciated that he gave me a realistic expectation of whether it would work or not. I chose to gamble on repairing rather than replacing it. He did the repair in a reasonable amount of time and honored the quoted price. When I got the transducer back, he had used some kind of coating to ensure the wire repair was water tight. I took the boat out the other day and the sonar functions like new. Very impressed with the service I got and would recommend The Reel Doctor to anyone!

Last Sat My AquaView stopped working !!! I contacted the warranty dept. by email ,Received Instructions within 2 Hrs. " If you are close to Reel Dr Edmonton take it there and Trevor will fix you up " called Trevor set up appointment for 10 am Friday . I got there on time !! By 10:20 AM I was on my way ,Trevor Tested and repaired the unit . How do you beat that for service !!! wont get that from a BIG BOX store it would have been at least 2weeks wait and $150. shipping .THANKS Trevor Davies excellent service !!!!!!!

I am SO happy I found this place. Great , friendly service. Trevor is who helped me with my order and he was fantastic. I was a first time customer from out of province. I needed several parts for a few different reels. For a reel several years out of production, they had the part in stock. Nice. Spare spools for a reel brand new on the market? No problem. Trevor ordered it from the manufacturer, called me when it arrived and had it in my hands within a few days via Canada Post. Everything easy since Reel Doctor maintains good relationships with their manufacturers. A part for a reel/manufacturer almost unknown in Canada? Trevor contacted the manufacturer, initiated the dialogue so he could order the part, and stuck with it until my part arrived. That was 6 months of consistent effort by Trevor to make it happen. Who does that anymore? Reel Doctor does. They're awesome, and they will take care of you.

I highly recommend Trevor and his team at The Reel Doctor, I had a 715c camera that wasn’t turning on, I talked to Trevor on the phone and he said to bring it in and he’d have a look at it to see what the issue was(even though I never purchased it through him) After some diagnoses it turned out my camera was toast, my warranty had just run out 3 weeks earlier so I was pretty sure I was S.O.L but Trevor had dealt with Aqua-Vu on my behalf and to my surprise they had a new camera on its way for me. We were getting ready to go fishing in British Columbia. We checked our gear and found an issue with our Minn Kota 24 volt trolling motor. Reel Doctor being the closest warranty and Service shop I called and left a message after hours. The next morning I was at the office my wife took the motor in for warranty. In the meantime Trevor did call me. She got there and explained the issue. Trevor took the time right then (as busy as he was) test the motor and found no issue. Asked me to bring him the boat at the end of the day to check and found the issue and again proceeded to help us fix it so we could go on our trip without worry! We have taken reels in for repair and input on the reels. Spectacular service considering he is not a marine service shop. Trevor is an absolute solid guy. I would recommend this shop to anyone. We thank you Trevor for making our trip unforgettable and we haven't even left yet.

Dropped off a casting reel that had a problem with it's drag, and Trevor seemed to have diagnosed the problem immediately. I dropped off the reel in the busy season, however Trevor was still willing to repair the equipment at a date to your request. When picking up my reel, Trevor had only charged me for the repair service and discounted the two replacement washers for free. Overall a great experience with this establishment, would recommend.
