This hospital has saved my life not once but twice in my 21 years of life and I accredit that to the amazing and compassionate staff that work there. I'd be happy to recommend this hospital to anybody who's in dyer need of medical attention as they have fast tracked me through for both Paracarditis and Myocarditis.

Rye Sinclair

Awful I wish I could give no stars. My elderly mother was waiting since 630pm. She already was hesitant to get help. We convinced her to stay, saying the doctors will help. When I called around 1030pm, the first nurse seemed nice, then transferred me to another nurse, who put me hold, then the 3rd nurse to answer the phone had the biggest attitude. And gave me no answers except they are really busy and dont know when she will see a doctor. I asked if maybe she could be transferred to a less busy emergency hospital, and the answer was no. There seems to an attitude with the medical staff over there. If you can avoid this hospital as a first choice.

Dale Houston

I wouldn't, t take my cat to that hospital, I have seen their world class care first hand, they are great at giving very poor care, to people that they they supposedly care about.

Jenn Loeffler

They took my lifeless body, mind failed lungs, my heart that wouldn't beat and my soul that nearly eacaped and made me whole again. From the 911 call my husband bravely made not knowing if they were taking me to fix me or just taking me to the final escort by my primary ICU guardian who announced to everyone that she accepted full credit for the healthy girl leaving their ward a short week layer. There was one guy that humbly insists that I was the one that pulled the whole thing out of the ashes, I was the one doing the work now. The attending physician was a very skilled man that used his exceptional talent, hard earned education, and dedication to his oath to put air in my lungs, oxygen in my blood, a beat back in my heart and life back into my being. Most importantly he put two best friends back together so in fact he saved two people that day. There are, in an opinion that only matters to me, 2 hospitals serving Edmonton that pay attention to the ingredients of an exceptional facility; the Sturgeon and the UofA seem to pay attention to the most important asset, their people. They have people that share the values and principles that make their foundation solid. Happy people, happy patients.

If I could give half a star I would. Wife had day surgery in the morning. Complications a rose and we had to visit sturgeon hospital ER at 5pm. My wife had no special attention and sat there for hours with fresh bandages then left unattended once she did get in for a total of over 9 hours. No IV to help hydrate her. Her pain meds were wearing off from her surgery. What a nightmare. I had to call asking if anyone was coming to check on her. I'm not impressed at all with this.

Hailey Thordarson

All the nurses and doctors I dealt with were to sweet and understanding, Also very quick.

The best... My daughter was Born here 2017 . All team were awesome :) highly recommended ... hospital as well organized & super clean along with professional staff.

David Ratcliffe

The facilities have been really updated over the years. The inside and out are modern and welcoming and the ladies in the gift shop are delightful and a great place to pick up a treat for whomever you are visiting. Now about the TV in the patient lounge ???????????? the 1990’s called and they’d like their tv back!

Krystle Sutherland

I love the vets and the staff at this clinic... they are honest, clean and make your pets feel like family. ..I would trust my pets with anyone else

Anna McMurray

My wait in the waiting room was over 4 hrs before I was taken into the actual emergency department to receive care. However as an adult I can understand there are other people with worse cases that needed attention before me and can lead to long waits. It saddens me to see so many people get upset at this fact and expect prompt treatment the minute they walk in the door and rate based on that. My five star rating is for the care I received once I was being taken care of. The staff were completely sympathetic to my situation and extremely helpful. I saw DR. Lee and I was thankful for her kind bedside manner. Even though being treated at a hospital is not fun, this has by far been the best hospital experience I've ever had.

Horrible hospital!!!! Daughter was kneed in the nose during a soccer game so I brought her here, her nose was obviously broken and shifted to the right side of her face after hours of waiting which I’m not even mad about I get they’re busy the doctor said it was fractured across the top and I kept asking will it heal straight he said yes yes without even barely looking at her I was also concerned about a concussion and he looked at her eyes and said no, finally after me asking if he was sure he got the nurse to give me a paper on concussions. Whatever, we left drove home to Red Deer and went to an ENT who said it was broken in two places and should of been fixed that day! After having to wait for appointment to plastic surgeon no one wanted to touch it because it had been too long and the best to hope for is a nose job at 18 (she’s 12) Didn’t take no for an answer drove to Calgary’s children’s hospital (2 1/2 weeks since injury) and went to Emergency and asked if anyone could help straighten her nose, defeated I had no hope for help but they did they were able to straighten it and of course said it should of been done in St. Albert when it happened. Also she did have a concussion. Would of been nice to know because she went back to soccer two days after injury and should not have.

Lauren Abday

You could probably die in the waiting room and the nurses would have no clue.

Joshewa McKeever

It took the staff over a hour to triage 3 people..... don't even ask about the staff's attitude or how long I had to wait to see a doctor. Actually faster to go to the UofA hospital

Boots Q

Wait times in emergency 5 hours long on a fairly slow day. This hospital is poorly staffed or managed for it's size. I realize our healthcare system in Alberta and countrywide is in dire need of address, but if Albertan's are in need of an example of how poorly our overall system is just visit the St. Albert Sturgeon Hospital. (This hospital use to be outstanding).

Crunch Foe

Quick turnaround (there and back home in 2 hrs) in the emerg when I needed stitches. All the staff and doctors were awesome.

Sandy Ranger

Ive been sitting in the waiting room for 5 hours now, watching people come in and get called witin 30-60 minutes..... What in the actual hell?!?! I come in saying my lower half of my body is PAINFULLY NUMB and i cant lift my right leg without it trembling horribly. Nurse asked pain level? I said 45 out if 10 and my leg is swollen and doesnt feel right. Stiiiiiiiiilll waiting. Fml

Husam

Arrived 6:15pm, at 10pm Nurse said we had 1 ahead of us, at 11:30 Nurse said there are 2 ahead of us, we decided to leave as my wife became more sick. Management needs to look into how a sick person needs urgent attention?? My wife needed urgent help, we got some iron supplement from Shoppers and hoping this will help her

yup yup yup

been here multiple times lol, guess i’ve got bad luck, but based off my experience it’s more a place you go for a broken leg or just to get stabilized for more serious injuries which is understandable because that’s kind of it purpose. but thank you all for your service through COVID-19 outbreak❤️????❤️????

Dana Leigh

I will only go to this hospital due to the fact that I suffer with fibromyalgia, reoccurring cysts, and Chronic Pelvic Pain. They treat you like a human being, which other hospitals in Edmonton treat you like cattle. I have left other hospitals crying because they think you came their for pain management. Um, Yah! If one is in pain and have medical reasons for it....... Yes I would appreciate to feel better. And they will do everything to rule out the problem first. Proper blood work, ultrasounds, and everyone is kind there. They will know if you're not in pain, so do not come if there isn't anything wrong, they will not just hand out medication.

Luke Harris

Great facility. We are lucky to have a place like this within our community.

Kyla

The reviews are either 5 or 1 star so it’s a gamble when you go in I guess, I didn’t have any problems when I went into er, was treated nicely

Alberta Helping Animals Society

I had two day surgeries here and everyone, from pre-admission clinic to laboratory to diagnostic imaging to day surgery, was friendly, caring, and cheerful.

Brett Spencer

Best place to go in the metro area. Great support staff here who actually seem to care about their patients. My grandma was treated like a person not a number.

Troy Grant

I've had both the misfortune and the great pleasure of attending the Sturgeon Hospital. At every visit, regardless of the reason, the staff have been very respectful and professional. The hospital and its staff are above reproach. I hope I don't have to return anytime soon, but if I do I know that the experience won't be made worse due to the staff or the facility. Thank you for all you do.

Shannon O'Hara

I have never had a bad experience at this hospital. I write this now, lying in bed, after a gallbladder removal. Except for a 5 hr break, I've been here 24 hrs. The care has been superb, from the ER nurses who had to deal with my toddler pain tantrums, to the amazing ultrasound tech, to the scrub nurses I barely met before surgery, to the amazing RN and 4th yr student on the post-op floor. I've utilized their ER before, as well as brought my granddaughter for a broken arm. I can't say enough nice things about the entire staff here.

Rebecca (Opalchild)

Canceled my call for help no-one come to check in, i was on a bed with an ovarian cyst , no one checked on me for at least an hour , passed out in pain at least once, whaling and crying in pain, totally unacceptable, just tossed away in corner to writhe in pain. If they weren’t going to do anything I would have stayed at home in a warm bed with hot water bottles ! I was only here because im worried it might be twisted , The time before this i passed out on the floor by the waiting room bathroom because I couldn’t sit in a wheelchair anymore , they just hauled me off to a back corner away from everyone , and just put me in another bloody chair , i F$&@ hate this hospital

Jas Gaming

ICU department are very very helpful and attentive. No comment on other departments.

Joy Do

The worst one that we have been to. We were there with our 3 year old child and we wait from 5:30pm to 9pm, we still didn't see the doctor, our child cried because she wasn't feeling good and had been waiting for so long, one nurse came and asked us to keep our child quiet, we finally left after 4 hours waiting still no doctor. The thing is The waiting room was not packed full at all. Nurses inside just grouped together and chatted. It's a shame. They should observe other hospitals and learn how to manage the work flow. Be dedicate, you will be honoured.

Ingrid

Pregnant had fever and pain with acute nephritis at 4 a.m. Called ambulance and they suggested to go to Sturgeon Community since it was near. The staff in the hospital took all the tests and told me I was fine. They could not even find I was in a fever. Released me 5 hours later. Luckily I have an appointment with my OB in Royal Alex right after the release. I struggled my best to see the OB and was told immediately that I may have a nephritis. She saw the test in Sturgeon and it did show I was infected. Sturgeon even didn't send any doctor to ask where is my pain and talk to me. All nurses busy switching from night shift to day shift. Thank God Royal Alex kept me and treated me properly right away. Or Sturgeon will gave me an impression that it was just tired and flu. I could not understand how come they said I was ok. Even my OB in Royal Alex keep on shaking her head with disappointment.

Kyra Turpin

I just want to say, I have been here many more times than I wish I had too, even throughout this pandemic. Every single time I have had to go, the nurses and doctors and imaging techs are incredibly kind and patient and helpful. They must be exhausted and stressed but you would never know it. Here I am today, having a panic attack from the pain, and I got all the help I needed. It's just suck a nice feeling

Wayne Wilcox

I was in and out so fast you would have never thought I was at a hospital

Erit Yusuf

The Doctor was very great with details to check up with me and nurses doing their jobs extra and beyond in treating me very nicely. I got referred by my best friend who is a nurse telling me, there are great Doctors in Sturgeon Hospjtal and I found it even beyond my expectation, because last time I went to Community Hospiral in Edmonton and they gave me tylenol and advil and told me I will be fine to go home. I came from Calfary where I have lived about 14years and they worked hard on each patient to meet the requirements before they send them home. That's the kind of treatment that I know of. I dont get sick all the time but some times when I get sick Hospital.is the best way to cat h up speedy recovery and I'm very grateful to the treatment i have received at Sturgeon Community Hospital. May God bless you and all your family members.lots of love.????????????????????

Kristine Blanco

I had my 1st visit in this hospital and it was amazing. My appendectomy was successful carefully done in just 2 hours never felt any pain on my surgery conducted by Dr. Wasey, GS. Great job!

Danette Landon-Nelson

Great patient services. Very friendly, and knowledgeable.

lili atom

Two stars for the super nice nurse who cared enough to share some snacks whilst I was near starving for eight hours. Although I was so shocked to realize a fake wigged nurse made off with my BRA! Smirking behind my back like she did good service to her discriminating divide and conquer scheme. I will keep coming back regardless how racist you ACT! Warning to all who decide to shed your clothing to put on a gown, go with family, friend or relatives. Make certain they hold all your belongings..,even your *UNDERGARMENTS!

Briie

Highly recommended! Have been here for ER care, day surgery, and in L&D& PP. All the staff goes over and beyond. They are caring and compassionate and highly knowledgeable.

George Williams

Took great care of me. I shattered my elbow. The surgeon nurses even the cleaning staff, really do an outstanding job.

lexisbee1

My sister went in with a ruptured cyst on her ovaries (she was flown to Edmonton after being diagnosed at another hospital) , in extreme pain she’s been sitting and waiting and when she asks for help because she’s suffering they tell her things like “everyone here has pain” or her cries for help are met by an EMT who just says “they know your here” , no one actually has taken the time to care for her or help her in any way. I get hospitals are busy and there are priority patients but when someone has something rupture inside them, I’d think there would be some importance and less rudeness from the staff! Extremely disappointed in this hospital!

Osian Berg

Worst experience I have ever had at a hospital. Last night after coming in with seizures I was left alone for hours while my IV ran dry and I was not even hooked up to any monitors. I was in and out of consciousness and it was very scary. I believe I was treated this way because the seizures may have been drug induced. However everyone deserve to be treated with dignity and to be looked after. I am not a drug addict but I was treated automatically as if I was when in fact this is the first time i have ever had seizures. I found the carelessness of the paramedics and nurses especially concerning given the fact that I had brain surgery only a few months ago.

Matthew Haddock

Thank you so much for you’re help nurses and doctors You help my pain go away and saved the day by helping me my pain go away I really appreciate it . The Sturgeon Community Hospital is the best hospital to go very fast service most of the time especially in emergency situations and very kind and nice people I recommend you go to this hospital when you’re sick or injured

Jenny Jams

I found the emergency doctor to be... a bit in the young side? She clearly has no bedside manner whatsoever. For being in emerg there was no one else there really.. but after waiting over 1.5 hours for her to breeze in to tell me not to bring in my high fever and shaking 2 year old because "we have vaccines now" is not an acceptable example of providing medical care in my opinion. What the f a vaccine has to do with it looking like my baby was about to go into seizures is beyond me.. I question the legitimacy of her title almost.. ridiculous.

Calvin Joy Thomas

Very good staff. My bloodworks were done smoothly. The nurse got a vein first try.

Dylan Nerling

I will never recommend this place for any type of care or treatment. Went in with chest pains and COVID-19 like symptoms. After 811 directed me to go to this hospital. I checked in at the emergency. Waited 2 hours before getting seen by anyone. After I was moved into a different room I heard doctors and nurses laughing about this whole pandemic that is happening. After the fact the doctor came in to my room. Gave me the good new that I was ok it’s most likely the virus making my chest hurt. She remcomened I get tested. I agreed fully. They gave me the COVID test then sent me home. It is now 1week later and I still didn’t get my results. The rest of my family was tested and quarantined 3 days later and the all had their results within then next day. I’ve tried calling the hospital. AHS help lines. And 811 and have received no help.

Jp Dumais

I understand the long wait as it’s the way it is everywhere else but the triage nurse guy doesn’t have to be so arrogant. He should just take the information and keep his dumb opinion to himself. That’s how professionals do. Other than him, everything’s fine.

Rune Lyall

My initial nurse and doctor were amazing... the moment the morning shift came I was treated like I was just taking up space. More than once I wanted to walk out especially after my husband was basically yelled at for staying by my side, while a mother with her full grown daughter was waited on hand and foot. In the end my last doctor didn't even confirm my tests and the last nurse ignored my aversion to blood and needles completely when discharging me. If at all possible I'd never use this hospital again.

Kirk Dewhurst

The hospital is clean and well lit. It’s been updated over the years. As a general rule the staff is friendly and attentive. We are here because my wife’s uncle is sick. He was not receiving very good care. The nurses are good but his doctor was very arrogant and not very helpful. Fortunately a complaint led to a change on doctor and is getting better help. Unfortunately my wife’s uncle is very ill and seems as though he might not recover. Otherwise outside of the terrible first doctor everything has been good. Due to COVID 19 we cannot go in, only immediate family but we have found a nice spot outside of the room of the uncle to be close by.

SATIN SHARMA

Very nice clean and cordial staff

Carrie Ambury

Come in. Wait 2 hours for any help. Get help. Wait 1 hour. They come back explain they need xrays. Wait another hour. Nothing. Wait another hour. Come back, need something else. Wait another hour.

Edward Davidson

wonderful staff... very professional ... took great care of me very thankful.

Katrina Kephart

Amazing staff! The nurses and Doctor we dealt with were amazing. Extremely understanding staff that were very welcoming. Appreciated their openness and honesty, a rare quality among the medical establishment these days. They discharged my mom a little sooner than I would have liked but overall was a great experience considering the circumstances.

Dave Hermit (Hermitguy)

AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS!!!! If you don't look like someone important, you get treated like a piece of garbage! The triage nurses are more concerned with what they are doing in their personal lives than they are in treating the sick! God forbid you ask them to do their jobs, because then you get treated even worse. The wait times are atrocious, the staff are rude and judgmental, and could care less what type of pain you're in. I personally had a trigger nurse tell me I look like a drug seeker so I won't be seeing anyone for hours, and that she hated her job and didn't want to be there. Disgusting!

Paul Randall

It is a very nice place the doctors and nurses are very nice

E M

My daughter had her baby here worst experience ever.

Simon

Whenever a family member has come here for something major, there has been a huge issue. We're an understanding bunch, but when trends appear over years, you have to wonder. I'll quote a doctor from the UofA: "if you want a view, go to the sturgeon. If you want real medicine, go to the University of Alberta Hospital".

Jennifer Chambers

I had a great unplanned stop at sturgeon for an unplanned c section on the 24 of may. They followed protocol great, I felt safe, which was a concern for me.I went to another hospital for my other two children and sturgeon was much better. The labouring nurse I had was so fantastic, she was always right there hands on with EVERY contraction and didnt make me feel judged when things turned for a c section. We had such a great experience, the surgon did a fabulous job on cutting I was told you would never tell I had prior c sections, he made me feel safe and he did a great job all round. The nurses were so great too, ALL of them which is rare normally there is one nurse that you just dont jive with. But all the ladies were fantastic, I had one on one hand expressing taught to me by a night time nurse that saved me sooo much stress as I was struggling till she assisted, which never happend at the other hospital. There was a great lady who is the lactation consultant came to help me numerous times and she was was soooo fantastic. I know this is my story and my opinion, but for me this hospital made our delivery great for all of us , thank you to the sturgeon staff for making our delivery so smoothly we appreciate you .

Sandra Flores

Rude staff, I was with a triage nurse telling her about my concern & she acted like I wasn’t the the whole time, she would talk over me to people coming in- very unprofessional. The nurse on the phone was also rude when I called to see what time the ultrasounds were opened until. Wait times are the worst, they let people in that came after you go first. If you don’t match the level of “emergency” to them, you get treated like you’re not important. I strongly recommend you go to another hospital.

Ryleigh Gargas

I planned on delivering there because I heard such great things but I got anything but great. My water broke from the top on January 13, my son was born February 1st. They told me that I peed my self and when they did the swab it came out a grey not a full black so its inconclusive and sent me home. My water broke full on January 31st found out that the cord was wrapped around his throat and I was full of infection. It took a nurse who wasnt even apart of my team to tell the nurses who were to shut it down and get me in for a csection. I had an awesome doctor I did love her but the other doctors who I seen on my previous visit you maam are a joke to send me home and all the nurses were rude, in labor and out. They are very much pro breastfeed make a woman feel very small when she can. Horrible 3 days of my life that I had to stay there.

Alexandre

Went there for a partial obstruction a few years back, went at give or take 1AM and sat in the waiting room for a good 4 hours or so. Waiting times are long and tedious. Checked me into a room and I spent another additional hour waiting for someone to come examine me. Someone came to check up on me and they simply said that I have to make myself throw up. At least it worked, but it's kinda dumb how a partial obstruction wasn't taken too seriously. Staff was friendly with me tho.

Rudy S.

Thank you very much to Doctor Lee and Nurse Deirdre for their professionalism and attention , I try to stay away from the hospitals as much as I can ,but after being two days in pain and few huge blisters from a sunburn ,I couldn't take it anymore ,when I arrived at the emergency room ,Nurse Deidre was very attentive and professional and Doctor Lee was amazing ,both were very knowledgeable and I was in and out in no time.Thank you once again ,you are doing a great job!

Axiana

My husband has been waiting over 4 hours to get stitches and still waiting!!! The nurse told us he would get in for stitches right away and told me to wait in my hot car. I have been waiting thinking the doctor could show up any minute! This is ridiculous

Kristen Leah

Would give no stars if that were an option! Came out of there feeling 10x worse than what I was going in. Dr. Dean shouldn't have his license, he is so unprofessional and cut me open and took scissors and started digging around in the incision, worst pain ever

Jared Peacock

I went here with weird covid-19 symptoms and they were awesome to deal with and explained everything I was going through well. The were timely in getting test results back to me and I was put a little more at ease with my symptoms after the explanations I was given.

ahmet gencer

I ended at emergency and recieved an excellent care from everyone. I do not remember their names but I wont forget smiling faces with exceptional quality of service manners. THANKS A LOT.

Rosetti

Only giving this 2 stars because of convenience. Dr. Mangan is the doctor we saw. Rude, uninformative, & no bedside manner. Aside from that, this hospital is not equipped to handle much more than stitches. Don't go to this hospital if you can avoid it.

Paul Stojanovic

Great hospital and great staff. I agree that facility is not fully updated in some areas but when you have staff that nice all the time facility is not even important.

Jacek Staszczyk

Came to this hospital with chest pain. The doctor who took care of me was fantastic, dedicated and emphatic. The nurse who was assigned to me was not very professional unfortunately. She took me to X-ray room not in the wheelchair but I had to follow her through long corridors. With my chest pain and shortness of breath I had to pace fast like in my best days( I am almost senior). To my relief my doctor communicated to me good news, my blood work and ECG was good so I can go home. My nurse didn’t come to my room for next 1hr 20 min so I decided to ask another nurse to disconnect me from IV and bunch of cables.”few minutes “ I was told , we will come to you when we can. I saw and heard 3 nurses standing in front of my room and casually chatting and laughing. I get it , my nurse could be busy with another patient. I simply can’t get it why one of the 3 nurses couldn’t help me to disconnect from IV and monitor. Eventually I did myself. Finally one of the nurses came to me with ‘ After visit summary” and with harsh tone in her voice announced “ You are good to go” Thank you for you care! 5 stars for doctor and reception staff and only 2 stars for nursing staff.

Comments: Sturgeon Hospital. Emergency nurse. Did not get her name. My son was directed by his Rugby coach to go to the hospital after getting tackled in Rugby. He was thrown by his shoulders and his head bounced off the ground. These boys are not small. They checked him at the field - he was dazed and confused, blurred vision and dizzy. Said he felt sick to his stomach. A friend took him to Sturgeon at 7:00pm. He has had a previous concussion in 2010 that kept him home for 3 weeks. So we had a bit more of a concern knowing more about concussions then someone who hasn't been through this. After we sat for 4 hours waiting to see the doctor he was able to have some liquids and something to eat. He even fell asleep in the waiting room for a short time and the dizziness and blurred vision subsided. Still wanted to make sure the doctors didn't see anything of concern. We sat and patiently waited our turn knowing more pressing patients would go before us. All before we couldn't help but hear a nurse at the desk loudly proclaim that us being there was a waste of time to another nurse at the desk. That she didn't know why we would even come in for a concussion that there is nothing they can do for a concussion and. She was clearly put off that we were wasting time in their waiting room. I was humiliated and shocked at the unprofessional manner this nurse was delivering her speech to this other nurse loud enough that everyone in the waiting room could hear. We left

Alanah Collins

Extensive wait time had x rays done was not told the actual results found out 3.5 weeks ago. Except for the reasoning of why people go to hospitals in the first place. Ya know seeking help in what wrong. Not to wait 6-8 hours to be told you should see someone about it. Thanks dr. Novi

Ian Pencoff

the lady answering the phone was so rude, she refused to let me know the approximate waiting time and told me to google it then hung up on me lol wow fri jan 25 7:50 pm

Terra Lynn

The staff here are professional and competent. If you need emergency services, this is the place for you! IF you are coming in for something stupid like a stubbed toe, or a cough you've had for one day, or a headache, you will be put at the last priority below other patients that have an actual emergency.

Pete2all K

Very safe and strict rules. All must have appointments

Michael Maier

This is one of the best hospitals in the Edmonton area. While it doesn't have the full range of medical services like the University has, the service and staff are exceptional given the smaller scale, and you won't have to walk five miles to get to where you need to be. Parking is easy (although expensive given the suburban location). If you are going to have baby, this is the hospital you want to be at.

Alana Ryan

On August 29th, the EMT's brought me to the Emergency department of the Sturgeon hospital. The nurses and doctor (I'm sorry I don't remember their names) were so patient and thoughtful with me, I honestly felt like the only patient. Of course I wasn't but that's how they made me feel. My sincere thanks and appreciation to all of those wonderful people who cared for me that night. You make the world a better place!

star bubblebutt

Very nice doctors are nurses, being treated very well here. Good place to go. I highly recommend this place. Thank you Sturgeon for being so nice and everything ????

Three weeks ago I came to this hospital thinking I was having a stroke and by later that same afternoon, I was diagnosed with Brain Cancer. I was put in the ICU. Since that time I have met the most compassionate, caring and kind human beans I've ever known. They have gone above and beyond to make by stay here and the hopes I wanted to come true with my family members happen. They come from every culture you can imagine, yet they all were here to make everyone in this unit feel the most important and they accomplished this with magic. Thank you all so much for all you've been and done.

donald Vuong

My grandma fell and fractured her r arm recently. She was treated professionally by the nurse and doctor throughout her ordeal. Thanks so much folks ???? ????????..

Steven Fischer

Wife was in a lengthy period of time. Nothing but praise for the staff on unit 18 and unit 15. Wish to thank all staff involved. Every day is a plus and every breath a blessing, thank you.

Currently waiting six hours and no response from doctors. Can't take any pain killers unless there's doctor's approval so been in pain all along. This place gotta be the worst hospital ever! Think going to heaven is faster than getting treated here..... But then I waited until 2am and finally got inside. There was still ten people before me but by then everyone just went home so I was the only person left to go. I got 2 doctors to care for me and kindly let me know about the procedure and potential side effects. I could not believe how nice they were. Completely different from the kind of service I got from the triage. They frequently checked on me and asked me if I needed anything else. In the end I am truly grateful for the treatment and care. I choose this hospital over all else in edmonton. Just go in after 2am lols

Thaddeus Pokorski

Very knowledgeable and caring .I thought they tried to get me home a little too soon but as I was leaving , the emergency waiting area was completely full and I was going home with a non life threatening issue . We need more Doctors in the emergency. Thank you Dr . McKay and the rest of the staff ????

They are highly understaffed or something, because it literally takes forever to see a doctor. It literally would be faster to see a doctor at a regular clinic then at this Hospital. This review is not from one visit, I have visited them multiple times and I still come out unsatisfied. It's just very disappointing to have your local hospital be the WORST, so now I have to go out of my way to the south side for an emergency.

I gave one star because you cannot go lower than that. Sunday September 30, I had to rush my pregnant girlfriend to the emergency room. She had two violent seizures, and while we know she has seizures relatively often, she is 12 weeks pregnant, so it's kind of a big deal. I dropped her off around 6pm, with my one year old daughter. I took out three year old son with me, took him to get some food for mom and sister and went and dropped it back off at the hospital. I had to go back to our old place (we finished moving yesterday), to clean up and make sure we were good for the move out inspection. It sucks, but such is life sometimes. So about an hour later she's telling me that a hospital social services worker says that my girlfriend was not allowed to be at the hospital alone with my daughter. (My first thought was, what about single mothers, immigrants and people who have children and no family near by to help them?!) So ok, fine, I guess I'm going back to the hospital and leaving our old place trashed. I get back around 730 pm, all is well. Kids are happy, girlfriend is really starting to wake back up from her seizure (they leave her a little foggy sometimes). Flash forwatd: 1130 pm. Still waiting. Kids bedtime is 8 pm so as you can imagine they are cranky and causing a ruckus. My one year old daughter bites my son, hard. I gently swat her bum, tell her no biting and sat her In the chair beside me. Immediately afterwards the social worker comes in, asks if she can hold my daughter, who was screaming bloody murder because she, like all children, hates time out. I do NOT let strangers touch my children. EVER. I said firm but respectfully, "I'm sorry, but no. I do not let strangers touch my children." She pivoted on the spot, while rolling her eyes and scoffing. Closed the door WAY harder than necessary and stormed off. Shortly after this event occurred, my daughter had taken her boots off. She has a bad habit of curling her toes in, when trying to put her boots on. I'm sure almost every parent can relate to how difficult it can be to get your child's shoes on. Well, the best way to get them on is to Pat the bottom of her boot, she straightens her toes out and her boot goes on. So of course my girlfriend does this, my daughter's boots are back on and she's back on her way playing and fussing. About a half an hour after the incident with the social worker/hospital worker, the RCMP showed up and accused my girlfriend of punching my daughter THREE times and then throwing her across the room into a chair. The rcmp confirmed that it was in fact a nurse at the hospital who had made this claim. I am APPALLED at the audacity that a nurse at this hospital would make such abhorent and false allegations towards my spouse. This is an absolutely disgusting accusation to make against someone, especially coming from a health care practioner. I went there concerned for my spouse and future child's health and left with the knowledge that she is having a miscarriage, immediately prior to being accused of her beating our children. I will NEVER use this hospitals service and I strongly recommend EVERYONE reconsiders using this hospital!

The staff in unit 26 were great. Avoid eating in the cafeteria in the hospital. The chicken fingers and fries were NASTY..just plain NASTY.... The price was high which I understand but if this is what the patients get for food the mortality rate will increase. The non English speaking women asked how my food was and I told her it was NASTY. She giggled and said that's nice..Have a day. Be warned to not expect good things

Kathryn Marshall

Awful. Not only does this hospital have the worst wait times ever, many of the doctors and nurses are rude and don't care enough to answer your question like a human being because they're too busy chatting with their coworkers about their weekend. After getting x-rays I was stuck waiting for my results for almost five hours, and that doesn't include the other 3 it took to get them taken. When asked if I could go for a smoke while I waited I was ignored completely. I had to ask three times before anyone answered me, and when they did they were abrasive and unpleasant about it before they brushed me off and continued to ignore me. You would have better luck at the misecordia, and that hospital sucks too so that's saying something. Don't waste your time on this place.

Alicia Olsen

Wow what a horrible birthing experience. This hospital used to be a great place to have a baby. Maybe the staff has changed. The nurses were very rude and ignored the mother's every birth plan request and openly scoffed when she asked for alternatives to anything that made their jobs "easier". Some were even heard swearing mocking her in the hallway over very basic needs. I'm disgusted.

I can't speak highly enough about the care, and staff at this facility. Although they are dealing with budget restrictions they saved my life. They have gone above and beyond any other facility that I have encountered in medicine in the Edmonton area. I had an amputation and I have dealt with a lot of complications due to my circumstances. They were there every step.of the way, from ICU to the people who clean the rooms. I am proud of the decency, kindness, and honorable respect I have received and witnessed at this hospital.

I took my very Best Friend to hospital after trying to fix him on my own,,,a 2-3 day try playing Dr.Covid did not allow me to pass the Visitors section so he got wheeled to Information by a Nurse alone.I was very upset and asked the Attendant who I assumed was a Nurse what I should do.She gave me a slip of paper with a phone number and told me to phone the Hospital in 2hours assuring me he would be OK.I phoned they said he was in waiting room. Then he phoned very upset ...saying very harsh words to a best friend of 16 years. The Friendship is over....so sad ???? A misunderstanding given by an Attendant.I miss my Best Friend daily.Xo not leave loved ones at the Hospital you could loose a Great Deal.

Josephine Mug

Great hospital and great staff. Thanks for taking care of me

John Dawey

They are doing great.

My 86 year old mother just spent 4 days at Sturgeon Hospital after a fall at home. She broke her elbow and needed surgery. Never have I seen such lack of care, compassion, patience in my life. One of the nurses actually laughed at my mom when did something opposite of what was asked. This happened right after surgery when she was still under the influence of the drugs and very disorientated. Not one of the nurses was capable or had the knowledge of how to lift her in and out of bed properly. When the call bell was used, the wait time for a nurse was excessively long. The Doctor there took it upon himself to take my mom off Prednisone cold turkey after her being on it for 25 years. Anyone with any knowledge what so ever knows that can't be done. She progressively got worse over the next few days until we discovered back in our home town hospital that she had been taken off this drug. What right does he have doing this not knowing her history at all. I pray that none of my family will ever have to experience this hospital again!!

tera imrie

Completely terrible they do not care at all waited 6 hrs in the waiting room with fainting and dizziness It was seen by a doctor for 5 minutes who refused to run any test and sent me home

Tim Finnie

One of the triage nurses here is a very strange person. Very unprofessional, and appeared very uneducated as her personal opinions about me had made an entrance into her diagnosis more than a few times. Aside from that particular person, everything here went quite pleasantly.

Derek Banks

The sturgeon is not serious, had surgery booked for 1:30pm had to be there 10:30am I had waited, No one had checked if I was g2g, no I v, and it’s 2:00pm and I’m still laying there no attention to the patient. I just left. Very professional

AvacadoNinja

Great service. Security stood around in the same spot for hours tho. Worst security ive seen.

Brian Waddell

Every nurse and doctor are so empathetic and caring. Phenomenal patient care.

Florence Wilkes

0 to hero. Had to go back for emergency gallbladder surgery. They were great with everything.

No One

Worst hospital ever, went there at 3 in the morning, waited for 3 hours with two other patients and was told they could not tell me how more waiting time or would be, left and they couldn't care less

Jacob McKay

Emergency department isnt the best but the maternity ward here was amazing. We had both our kids here.

Savannah Laurent

WORST HOSPITAL AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. After waiting for over 4 hours with major respiratory problems when it wasn’t even busy I finally got put in a chair. The nurse was rude and told me the wrong information and then the doctor was rude, ignored everything I said, didn’t believe me when I told him of existing medical problems and spoke over me every time I tried to talk. Worst hospital experience every time here!

Christine Fletcher

Monday July15/2019 I came in to the hospital. It was noticeably very busy. Knowing this I still decided to stay. Was treated by DR. D Stewart. The nursing staff was so very helpful and I thank you❤

Stacey Levesque

Amazing doctors amazing caring nurses wow !!! I almost didn't survive , sent here from lloydminster hospital and they saved me ! Cannot thank them all enough for the caring they did for me . I would recommend them in a heart beat , my whole family thanks you all ????

Connor Bachmeier

The whole back of my wrist was bl burnt with the agent used to adhese the dressing to my skin.

Melvin S

Hey if you are checking reviews before you are coming here you likely can just go to a doctor's office... The staff and facilities here are great and the staff is often under appreciated, they treated my father quite well when he had to visit here.

lala lipsy

I've been sitting here since 12am. It is now 530am . I am not okay. I've had nothing but rude nurses and waited in the waiting room for FOUR HOURS they took me to a room and I have now been waiting AN HOUR to see the actual doctor. 5 hours I have been here. I am dehydrated, throwing up, history of stomach bleeds which happen often and make me very sick. I am in tears and so disappointed with the staff. Especially with the nurses sitting at the desk gossiping about patients. The wait time on alberta health services site has said the wait time has been only 2 hours THE ENTIRE NIGHT. The hospital is not busy AT ALL. No one in the waiting room. Nurses in the back looking at instagram and talking. Myself and other patients being ignored in the entire area I am in. I'm disgusted and havent stopped crying in hours. Is it that hard to help the people you are paid lots of money to help? Our lives are in YOUR hands. Rethink why you started practicing medicine and then come.back to your job when you're to treat your patients with respect and actual care. Also, there is ONE PERSON IN THE WAITING ROOM. NO NURSES IN THE E.R RUNNING AROUND BUSY. NO DOCTORS. DO YOUR DAMN JOBS I BEG OF YOU. This is work to you but this is a literal disruption of human lives were talking about here. Please help people.

terry cramer

Waiting time is crazy and emergency Waiting room is do full i guess no more restrictions here

Bob Walkom

My elderly mother was taken to emergency with a low oxygen count, in the emergency department she was taken care of with great compassion and care. By the time I arrived the doctor had assessed my mother and had a plan. With Dr Sheldon Weins and nurse Deidre (plus the rest of the staff, sorry I didn’t get everyone’s name) mom was stabilized and able to return to her home. Professional and compassionate staff, thank you

Dale Offermann

Thank you to all staff and AHS for re attaching my pec tendon so quickly! Great staff and doctors.

dylan kohlman

Very disappointed with my last visit. I got place on the potential covid side (even tho 811 didnt even think I had it) cause I had shortness of breath. I was the with 2 others that were there before me. I saw 3 people who were there after me get in and out. I was there for 2 hours and NOT ONE PERSON CALLED FROM POTENTAL COVID SIDE. By the time I decided to leave which was 2 hours later. The covid side had 5 people and not one was taken in and the whole green side got almost fully cycled though!

Laura Ahmet

My most recent visit to the ER was Wednesday night around 10 pm. Considering the symptoms I was having I only had to wait 10 minutes to get a bed, and better still a nurse named Robyn was in a few minutes after I had changed into the gown to get all my vitals and what not. At that point I would have put my pain between a 7 - 8, and I assured Robyn that it would be ok having to wait a bit to see the doctor as it was quite a busy evening. About an hour later, my pain burst through to 10. I quite literally burst into tears and was shaking uncontrollably I was in so much pain. Robyn came in, assessed what was happening and got the doctor on shift, Dr.Lee. They were doing shift change, so it was a bit chaotic, but Robyn came through and got Dr.Lee for me almost instantly. Dr.Lee assessed me, got my pain under control, discussed what I needed, got an X-ray sorted out very quickly, and I was discharged and sent home within 6 hours with very specific instructions on how to treat my concern. Robyn, my nurse, made sure I understood everything, made sure I had a way home, and I could tell she genuinely cared. I wish I could articulate how safe she made me feel, and I will always be grateful I was lucky enough to have such a wonderful nurse by my side. Thank you Robyn, Dr.Lee, and the entire ER department at Sturgeon Hospital.

Kat

like any place, some of the staff is amazing and super nice and some are awful and should not be working in health care.

Shaylicia Courtoreille

Been waiting here 7 hours I’m sure I’ll have to wait more definitely don’t recommend, I came here hours before some people and their injuries where minor compared to mine and they took them in! Smh very disappointed in you Sturgeon!

Nathan R. .Turkstra

Nothing but good things to say about the staff and how they handled things there. Came in last night with a boxers fracture on my hand, they had me processed, retrieved my xrays and back out with a partial cast all in around an hour and a half. Cute nurses to

Chris M

The security officer that greeted me at the front entrance was very professional and helpful.

CA MP

I would love to say koodos to all the staff and nurses of Sturgeon Hospital. From the security guard, ER, AR, OR, DR, Surgeon, Doctors and most especially the lady nurses. You guys were so beautifully awesome. You were really thriving and shown how you loved your job. It was incredibly uneasy to each one of you guys how you handle the buzzle and hassle in your area. You are all sweet. Keep up the great work. Keep Canadian proud.

john smith

Dr. Sharif is working in emergency department. I never ever seen such of arrogant useless doctor in my life.

Tawnya Hawley

I just had day surgery done to get my gallbladder removed, and let me tell you it was the most amazingest experience I've ever had in a hospital!! They were all so amazing to me. And I can't thank them enough!! I love how I was treated it was just all around amazing. Whatever I needed they got it immediately, or if they couldn't they would just tell me to wait a couple minutes. They were just right on top of everything!! Just wish there was more I could do to thank them!! Amazing nurses and doctors!! ❤❤

This review emanated from a personal experience. I recently had a surgery at the Sturgeon's orthopedic clinic. My surgery went well like clockwork. And I am almost healed. The success of my surgery is directly related to the fruit of labor of the department. I was under the knife of Dr. Aleem Lalani and his supporting staff. It was a well-oiled machine that took care of me exceptionally well. I was impressed by their punctuality, attention to detail, will to inform patient every step of the way, rigor in checking and rechecking things every step of the way and more. It was a day surgery, which meant I was let go same day under the care of someone. I plead with all Canadians to be very appreciative of those doctors, nurses, admin staff and other supporting staff, who work every day under stressful conditions to treat us from the misery of illness and repair our damaged bodies. We owe our health and well-being to them. We should feel blessed and goldarn lucky that we have a universal healthcare system. We should thank our lucky stars that we are not Americans, millions of whom literally face the prospect of bankruptcy because they cannot afford the sort of surgery that I just got. Make sure we keep our healthcare system intact for us and our and our children. It is one of the best in the world. This is what makes me to be a proud Canadian. Please smile and say thank you to those doctors, nurses and supporting staff whenever you visit a hospital. Hell, it is very Canadian to smile at a stranger we see in the street. We should jack up that smile with an ear-to-ear grin, big bulging eyes and sincere thank yous to the hospital staff. They too are humans and they need to be appreciated at all times so that they can keep on doing their terrific jobs. Your body is your temple. Respect it by living well and healthy. If that is not enough to keep you healthy, Canadian hospitals are always there 24/7 to repair you. I rest my case.

Josh Fisekci

We delivered our first baby there this morning via C-Section. I couldn’t imagine the experience being any better. The staff are as nice, caring and as kind as one could ask for and went above and beyond all the time. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you to everyone who made this special day as stress free and as comfortable as possible. It couldn’t have been a better experience. They deliver multiple babies every day but everyone made it seem like it was only us. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Josh and Vicky

Jessica Halvorson

Had our baby here a few days ago and the delivery part was really excellent care but as soon as we had our baby we were rushed out of the room and sent to the postpartum wing. The care was aweful basically had to beg to get advil or Tylenol and to have my babies vitals checked. The nurses were incredibly rude. The room was shared and super gross. Not cleaned well at all definitely not a clean environment. The bathroom was disgusting. Thank goodness my doctor allowed us to go home early because it was a horrible place to recover after birth.

Jeff davis

Just got home from a hernia surgery. I was absolutely terrified because that’s my one phobias, but All of the staff were absolutely amazing! The surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses ect. First time ever being put sleep or having surgery and I couldn’t be more impressed and happy with the whole thing.

Axel Brooks

My favorite hospital. I don't like going to hospitals but this place is the best. Only one I go to if need be.

Petrica Erdes

I think they deserve zero stars... Great job guys for doing nothing ..

Brandon

No problems here. If you have to wait around along time probably because your not a priority regardless of what you think

BeRad

Waited for HOURS... Don't come to this hospital if you wanna see the Doctor right away. It will make you wait for Hours doesn't matter if a kid is puking and making you wait that long.

Steven rolfe

If you need to see a doctor quick I would suggest going to another hospital once you do get in they are very good at there jobs.

Zena Warrior Princess

I can’t thank the amazing staff, nurses and doctors at the Sturgeon Hospital. I went to emergency yesterday. I was in severe pain, couldn’t breath and was scared. Due to COVID my husband couldn’t be with me. The care I received, but he medically and personally was second to none! They worked hard to help me and keep me safe, they showed so much caring and comforted me. Yesterday was a very bad experience but they all made me feel safe while they figured out what was wrong and how to treat me. I only remember the name of one of the nurses - Charlotte, she and the rest of the staff were my guardian Angles. I wish I could remember everyone else’s names. Thank you all for the fast and kind treatment. You are all amazing!

Kristiana Sinding

Long emergency room wait times are remedied by the friendly and helpful staff. This hospital has grown a lot and now hosts most of the services, tests, imaging, and diagnostics you may need. If they don’t have it, they make the transfer to a facility that has the resources to help you smooth and easy. I was born in this hospital 20 years ago, i’ve been to this emergency room many times both for myself and to see family, as well as visited family and friends in the units many many times. The staff of this hospital work hard to give you quality care and understanding.

W

After a 4 hour wait they let people who came 2 hours after me come first. First come first serve does not apply at this place at all. I left without seeing a doctor.????

Mally Ali

One of the best hospitals there is the nurses here are so kind and so patient, talk about great service!!! anything you need will be given to you as soon as possible and they make you feel comfortable in your surrounding!! 5 stars isn't close to enough THANK YOU to all the amazing staff here you show me that kindness and greatness does still exist!

Savour This

What kind of horrible people are even capable of working at a hospital so judgemental of anyone who comes in there, they have no respect what so ever they definitely need new staff and need to be reported for what kind of madness goes on there. That's so messed up I thought hospitals were supposed to make you feel safe and comfortable maybe they forgot they're suppose to help people no matter what you look like or the color of your skin. They don't know the meaning of "help". -DB

Alex

I delivered at this hospital and all the nurses and doctors i saw were amazing. Wouldnt go anywhere else.

Samantha Lefebvre

I was extremely disappointed by my experience at the Sturgeon emergency. I had been experiencing concerning swelling with my hands that my family doctor had put me on antibiotics to help resolve, however, the antibiotics were not working so I thought I would make a visit to the emergency because my clinic was closed. Although I was in and out of the emergency in two hours on a Friday night, I was not pleased with the care I received. The doctors failed to ask about my health history, and thus, told me that I had an illness that would resolve itself in a week and I would be required to miss work. Fast forward a few days, my condition is worsening, and I go to my doctor who sends me for blood work that determines I have a serious condition. My condition could have gotten better much sooner if the two doctors who gave their opinions took the time to look into my health history.

Dale Ripley

I went in for an outpatient procedure this week in Unit 11. From the people at reception, the LPN (Tom) who helped me in the unit, the doctor who performed the procedure (Dr. Bennett) and the anesthesiologist, all were friendly, caring and competent. The quality of the care was outstanding. My thanks.

Irene Cornwell

My husband is currently a patient in the hospital. I am very pleased with his care. I do remain concerned that he has been coded "white" ( violent ). This was done without conferring with me or any member of his family. Nursing staff have been very respectful in discussing this with me. However, I still disagree as I believe Alzheimer's Disease and the fact he was being cared for at home caused him to be overly confused when first admitted. I wish to put my concerns regarding this on record. Several staff have told me my husband of 48 years is a very nice man and cooperates the best he can. I will always believe our input would have been helpful. Again, other than this concern, we are very happy with our loved one's care.

Dan L

Great place there NICU staff are outstanding the security is great minus one member, this one member tired stopping me see the birth of my child over paying for parking .... even while telling him what I was doing why I was rushing... still demanded I pay for parking it was a premature birth and he wanted problems after telling I didn’t care if he had towed my car I’m going upstairs a covid screening nurse had stepped in and told him where to go right quick as she was expecting me!! I hope this guard never treats another person like this, the hospital as a whole is great well staffed and well prepared for a lot I commend there NICU for my son I’m so happy he’s here today!!!! THANK YOU so much NICU and to all there staff !!!

C CCS

I have had experience with all the hospitals in Edmonton and Sturgeon has by far produced the best emergency room doctors and patient care on numerous occasions!

Andrew Rafo

This organization is exceptional. The facility and staff are excellent.

AMA Drid

As far as I'm concerned, I prefer to go to this Hospital than any other in the Edmonton area.

Brittaney Anderson

Was admitted for delivery and postpartum care. Unit 25 was amazing! Always took conerns to heart, showed compassion, empathy, and made sure i was comfortable in expressing my concerns. Once transferred to unit 27 things went downhill. For starters room was beyond small not appropriate for postpartum by any means let alone i was only mobilized to the wheelchair to get transferred since surgery (was up once before but was hard to move). Once the incubator was brought in to do the light therapy for baby it was even more cramped. There was no room to move or mobilize or try and get some leg exercises in to bring down swelling. Husband was cramped in a corner in that small chair having to climb over the bed to get into it. As the table had to be placed in front of the bed and the patients family on the other side of curtain kept walking into it. There was enough floor space for 1 person to stand and that point. Secondly nursing staff seemed overworked and understaffed and brought out negativity in said staff. As a new mom with anxeity this did not help by any means especially being told by one nurse not to be anxious as itll make baby anxious (needed help coping with the crying as well as being taught how to swaddle to help the crying) then having the nurse leave the room with no help offered. When pressing the call bell asking for help it seemed like a chore to come in and help me. If i wouldve been taught and had questions answered (especially for a swaddle all i wanted was a step by step a few times and to be watched to get baby comfy and settled) the bell would have been pressed a lot less. No anxeity meds were offered/ordered not sure if a call was made to physician even. Thirdly found it beyond difficult to get proper teaching by the staff as they always had something else to do. (Wether a swaddle/latch/ or a burp. Yes it seems minimal but i dont know what i was doing and having had surgery, fluid overload in legs, and fused bones which make things different and need to adapt and learn in new ways.) That being said was sent home with no teaching pamphlets (not for swelling/what to look out for with stitches/ what to look out for post op/ etc not sure what else as i dont know maternity) There also seemed to be no HCA in the stay as i was not offered a shower i had to ask my nurse on day 3 to get supplise to wash myself up (shower in room was hard to use as it wasnt working properly) as i wanted to feel clean. No comfort rounds were done by a HCA/nurse and nurse came in very minimally (unless call bell was pressed and had to give a reason over bell before someone would come in). Had to supply my own water/drinks from family (offered 1 glass of water from day nurse once and only got what came on trays) as well as proper sized diapers. Nurse did try and discharge home at 0000h after order placed and im sorry but that was unacceptable and shocking considering this was not a ER type setting. Baby didn't even get a bath while i was on the unit (had to ask for bath a few times) as well as teaching for the bath which was squeezed in at about 0100 the night of discharge. Would have been nice to update my visitors so i could have proper mental support but no Unit Manager was brought in for discussion in the manner. Overall delivery was tramatic enough and the stress of unit 27 was not needed mentally/ emotionally. Would have perferred a private room as they were available (and we were willing to pay) all things considered to have a proper recovery and actual space to move and recover properly. (Swelling did dissapear after seeking outsourced help and advice 3 weeks later). Still strugging with postpartum depression 3 months later. Did submit a patient relations compliant and no issues were addressed all they did was read over and summarize what was written in the chart. Did get sent to this facility to have bloodwork drawn as i did have post op complications and had a small panic attack from being back in the facility due to how i was treated while admitted on unit 27.

Mark Sosnowski

The Nurses in the Cardiac Care area are amazing people. I had never been hospitalized in my life and I am young to be a heart patient. I didn't get to see doctors very much, which was weird considering my heart was failing. Thank you nurses for working so hard but taking time to make me feel at home.

Tarrell Gray

Horrible service was sent here from Strathcona emergency and it's been nothing but a nightmare . They have not let me eat anything in the past 3 days . My head's pounding I'm throwing up bile over and over nothing to drink in 3 days pain meds after being switched hospitals I still haven't gotten and it's it's been 7 hours . Day before today they wrongfully sent me home when I was never supposed to be which cause more pain and trouble . Horrible hospital . I do not recommend . On a side note the one good thing was the night staff nurses are awesome people so kind and sweet . But day staff seemed a bit rude . Almost like they were joking but weren't

Duramax Stewart

Waste of time...... terrible service and probably the worst hospital I’ve ever been. If I could give it 0 stars I would without hesitation. I will be avoiding this hospital at all cost. Disappointing..

William Persse

My wife went in to emergency with a cat scratch that had got infected She told the intake nurse no morvene as she is Alergic That’s what they gave her Doctor gave her water pills as her leg is swollen they are not working He did an ultrasound he gave her no results He said you have no infection today it’s leaking yellow green liquid Then they released her with no bandage on an open wound She grabbed paper towel and taped it on her leg Her pain level is incredible

Tina Scherger

Really terrible! My dad almost died and they told him to come back when it was less busy! He was very low in oxygen and they told him he would have to wait 4 to 5 hours to get medical help. My mom then took him to Stony Plain emergency where they immediately hooked him up to oxygen, iv, ect. They said legally they have to work on him right away when his oxygen is that low. Sturgeon hospital made an illegal decision. I will be taking legal action. Horrible hospital!!!! To top it off my mom said the nurse was really nice about it, nice doesn't cut it when you deny proper medical care!

Bonnie van Rossum

Hit back of head knocked out came by ambulance, sat for 4 hours never one person came to me. Then put in curtained room again over hour no one ever looked at the split or cleaned up the blood. Total time 9 hours. I finally asked for a cloth and water to clean myself up.Doctor seemed uninterested and nurse was crabby. I was dizzy and my eyes wanted to cross. Yes they were busy & to not even see what was going on or look at my head. The Dr stood on the other side of the bed about 5 ft away ( I did not smell) when he finally came. Luckily I did not need stitches but the Neurologist I saw months later said I did have all the symptoms of a concussion.

Riley Lindgren

Girlfriend had an unexpected C section and all the nurses and doctors and staff at the hospital were so amazing and such help for the three of us . Although a stay in the hospital isn't a good time they made it as good as can be. Couldn't be more happy about how the service was.

Stephanie Costa

They take great care of you at first! The nurses are friendly and super caring. Down side. You get helped right away but will be waiting 5+ hours for your results.

Greg P

I have never had any experience at this hospital that hasn’t been positive (other than what brought me to the hospital in the first place). Yes there are waits and limited resources but that is not the fault of the hard working staff, they do the best they can with what they have. When myself or a family member has needed care the staff at the Sturgeon Hospital have been amazing.

Illya Lysenko

Waiting room is a perfect place to die

Ricky Xu

I had terrible experience for injection, that old nurse she was trying to injection to my right arm, then injected left arm twice in sunken area(not muscle area)with very fast push. She wasn’t gave any band to stop bleeding after the injection, which lead to both of my arm bleeding, and she said:” you don’t need any band-aid, it can clotting automatically”. She’s terrible, unethical, unprofessional, and the worst old nurse ever. There’s still mass extravasated blood and pain in my left arm after 2weeks.
