This Doctor belongs to the category of General hospital.
Thank you for the excellent care you provided from emergency department, to ICU and unit 54 ????
The hospital is very professional. My younger brother gave birth to his first child here.
Hella long queue timer. Aside from that, staff is friendly. Salute to those security guards, I'd lose my mind tryna do they're job. Guess good service is well waited on.
Just go to university of Alberta. The doctors at Royal Alexander are inept and don't care about you. They rush you along and inadequately investigate your symptoms. You will have better luck with Google. This place is a joke.
Unit 24 has been nothing short of amazing. My Mother is so happy with all of the staff as am I. Friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything you do, you are appreciated!!
I have been in the emergency room and admitted a few times. Triage staff have always been very kind and the doctors and nurses always made me feel comfortable. Even when I was at my worst, they were compassionate and uplifting. Thank you all for being there.
The absolute worst emergency room in western Canada. I even had a nurse say he's a Indian must want pain killers. I said I have oxy 10s for pain I need help to stop the bleeding. I sat there for 4 hours bleeding. I'm telling you go to any other hospital then the Royal Alex if you need a emergency room
Been there for high blood pressure clinic. I knew that I would have high blood pressure because of family medical history. However, I talked to the doctor that I won't have time for visiting nor take test for a while cause I am really busy. Told him that it is really hard to take the day off for a while. But, he did not listen to me at all. He kept forcing me to agree to take the test or visit the doctor. And, It was really stressful moments every single seconds. I felt he does not respect my time and situations that I've explained to him at all. I only talked to him twice in the clinic and on the phone today. Well, It was really uncomfortable and unpleasant experiences. I rather find the other doctor. To be honest, I don't want to get any treatment from him. Eventually, I will be stressed out and get worse anyway.
The staff were a little judgemental on my situation that was going on. Made me kind of feel uncomfortable.
I really appreciate and thankful for all who’s gone help me doctor and nurses in March 16 2021 when I was in emergency room. Love and respect for all ????kalkidan Alemu
My heart goes out too all health care workers. I’m so appreciative of all you do.
Been there several times to visit. Great hospital and caring facility....
This rating is for the efficiency of the ER. 8 hours is a disgrace for an emergency room when people are in serious pain. I spent about 4 days on ward 21 and the nursing staff are amazing so I want to be clear that this isn't a reflection on them, love them to pieces. But our healthcare system is broken when people can't trust that their hospital will be able to help them in time when waiting in extreme pain.
We had our baby delivered here last monday. The nurses and doctors were top notch! Extremely caring, compassionate and willing to go out of there way to help. We had a great experience. Being this is our first child, we were a little on edge but the people at RAH awesome and took great care of us. Thank you so much!!!!
My late wife was given the best treatment. The nurses and the doctor were kind and helpful. She was treated by a liver specialist to prevent the organ from killing her. I have nothing but respect for all the staff who attended her. Sadly my wife died October 25, 2016. She passed away at U of A Hospital, surrounded by friends and family. She was given a beautiful funeral. Sixty people attended her Celebration of Life. Her ashes were spread in the Fraser River at Hope, B.C (her request) by her daughter, grandsons and sister. I was unable to attend this due to circumstances beyond my control, but I did light a candle and sent her a prayer at home. My grief has abated now, because I know she is at peace.
I was admitted into the trauma unit for multiple rib fractures. The staff in both emergency and trauma ward were very kind helpful, and professional. The only complaint I have is the other patient in my room was unable to move and when he soiled himself the night nurse talked down to him like a child. Like he could control his actions in his current state.
Excellent care and screening by front line staff. Wonderful male volunteer walked over to community service, where again the utmost care for this current health crisis was taken. Really felt safe here despite my misgivings of having this appointment in a hospital. Thanks to all of you awesome frontline staff! Hallelujah for a job well done!
I was born here so I can't really complain
Our son was born here. It was a difficult time for us but the staff were all very kind and helpful.
Well this is one of our older hospital and busyest hospital but the staff here work hard and there good people that treat the people good and yes sometimes you can be waiting for hours as all the hospitals but when it's your turn they care
No patient privacy, they gang up when one request it. Even the cleaning staff knows everything about one and one's health needs. One has to make one's own bed and the shower stall is blocked by furniture, yet they mock you as "filthy" if you don't shower. These days, patients are jailed in, no access to visitors and they aren't allowed out unless to smoke
I can't understand why can't they just come with a better system so that patients don't need to wait for their turn for hours, especially when this pandemic is hovering on our heads. Scheduling less appointments per day would help a great deal. By keeping patients waiting means you are increasing the risk by exposing them to the pandemic. Reforms needed for a quick in and out service.
Good patient care. Keep the Good work going.
I was in their psych ward for two months as a teenager. Staff were incredibly malevolent when I was in crisis and I was incorrectly diagnosed. They were ignorant of my situation and blamed me for my trauma. They treated me as if I were just an awful, hormonal teenager rather than a victim. I've amassed great trauma from my experience there, and now, 6 years later, I hold great hurt and anger towards how their manipulations still affect me.
I am so pleased I chose to have my very first baby here. I was born at this hospital as well, so it only felt natural to have my son be born at the RAH as well. Every nurse and doctor I dealt with during my visit from beginning of labour to going home two days later were all so wonderful to me. Everyone was so incredibly supportive, informative and friendly. I highly recommend this hospital. Thank you so, so much to all the staff involved in my journey. I appreciate you all so much!
The Hospitsl is good, the worse are the long hours before seeing a Health professional.
NICU was incredible. ER, left lots to be desired
They killed my auntie. They gave the wrong results which is the cause of her death. They gave her lots of medicines because of the results to the point where her liver have failed but the results are opposite. Example are she doesn’t have pneumonia but they said she had so they gave her medicines that’s pneumonia and they ask a consent from her but they should not suppose to ask her because she is ill!!! They should’ve ask consent from one of the members of the family but they didn’t. She told us before she died that they asked her something but she just agreee but she said she didn’t understand it. Their service are not gooood
No words are enough to say thank you to the amazing NICU staffs, nurses, and doctors at Royal Alex Hospital. You all made sure that we were comfortable during our stay, we really appreciate your mighty show of warm. Thank you so much for taking care of us by teaching all the things we have to do for our baby, giving emotional support, and taking care of our baby girl. You are all truly the real heroes. Remain blessed ????
I am very happy with the staff that made my day on the Cardiac Unit. They were all really good, but one really stood out. I feel terrible her name slips me right now, but the nurse from Neerlandia left before I got a chance to tell her how much I appreciated her today. Thank you for your upbeat, honest personality! You are a doll and they are lucky to have such a good RN like you working on their floor! Thank you for all the information you gave me to help curb my anxiety. Good luck in your future and may you be blessed richly!
Horrible customer service on phone and in person. Got called a spoiled brat over the phone and hung up on while trying to get a new birth certificate, last year got sent home for being ‘over dramatic’ about period pain.. my appendix nearly ruptured. 0/10 this hospital has turned into a pathetic inner city hospital with inner city views. More concerned about the idiots who continuously OD then helping actual people in need.
February 2021 5 ☆ rating A big thank you to EMS responder Ashley and her 2 male colleagues who attended to me on my way to the hospital. They're such excellent caregivers and so impressed with their professionalism and utmost care and personalized attention. I felt well cared for the whole time I was in the emergency van all the way to the emergency room. Ashley stayed with me and checked for vital signs until a room was made available and that's when nurse Genevieve took over. A big thank you to nurse Genevieve who attended and cared for me while I was at the emergency room due to food poisoning. Also to Dr. Fischer who checked on my vital signs during my stay. Genevieve and Dr. Fischer were such phenomenal caregiver and I'm glad I was brought in to this hospital. Today, I'm feeling well and back to normalcy. Note: To management, kindly send my deepest appreciation to nurse Genevieve and Dr. Fischer for their dedication to their chosen profession. My PT# 015690902/004 RAGH 2019 4 ☆ rating Here at pre-admission clinic for my sibling and under the care of by nurse Katrina, Jillian, who took EKG, Dr. Rai, Dr. Newman, such wonderful friendly caring staff. Thank you so much for making my brother comfortable during our visit. PS: it would have been a 5 ☆ rating if not for the expensive parking in which I had paid $12 ($6 the first time, $6 the 2nd time to add more hours).
Ended up in er after diving off my bike onto pavement, face first. EMS technicians were wonderfull, ER admission staff was wonderful, resident named Pete and doctor name Warren, made my painful experience rather fun and did their best to fix me up. All the staff was beyond helpful and super friendly, even with all the pandemic on their hands. A big shout to Alberta doctors and nurses, you guys rock!
If you’re coming in here for an emergency, better go find another hospital because this place has no consideration and they will just waste your time. I got here at lunch and I came out at night and all that time was spent just waiting in the lobby. This place aint worth it for your check up or emergency needs trust me this place will literally kill you. Also staff here are very rude
Very rude staff And the peace officers there are very very disrespectful If there was a option to give zero I would
The ICU unit has been amazing. They have done everything to reassure my family and try to help make sure we are taken care of even though the COVID restrictions were making things very hard for everyone. They were very kind. The night doctor watching my dad's care even spoke to his sister in Australia who is a doctor in training and wanted to be able to confirm his condition. They were extremely professional and my whole family felt he was receving good care even as far as Australia. Thank you.
Sad reading some people's comment on how they had to wait for care.....guess they feel the medical professionals made a mistake by treating other patients with far worse injuries than their own. And then the comments about doctors suggesting medical procedures that they don't want, like a c-section..... guess those patients know better than the actual healthcare providers who have years and decades of experience. smh, just a bunch of selfish, ignorant individuals. Here's a solution, stay away if you don't want to hear our do what the nurses and doctors tell you.
I want to take a moment to share this appreciation for the professional and caring Staff at this wonderful CCU @Royal Alexandria! I turned 65 yesterday because of the quick attendance and health care given to me upon my arrival there on September 1st this year, 2021. Had it not been for the awesome and immediate emergency care from them and the Bonnyville hospital, things would've been different for myself and my Family. Thanking All of You folks for everything and I'm very grateful! Ron A. Hamer
This hospital is a joke. Everyone always says Grey nuns hospital will kill you, royal alex is the best. I'd rather go to Grey nuns. They might actually treat people.
People need to get off their high horse, we're all trying to get by and they're doing their job. Had to wait a few days with a life threatening injury, but I was stable. Others, not so much. There's a lot of people that go to royal Alex, so keep this in mind. Imagine doing the job of whoever your complaining about. No ones perfect, some better then others. Ultimatly saved my life, 8/10 nurses were compassionate, excellent food. Surgery crew was rough, again imagine having to do what they do all day long. 4/5 stars because they didn't update my meds after surgery. 9/10 on the pain scale for about an hour because of that and the dressing was too loose causing 8-7/10 pain for a couple days. I feel blessed to be alive. Thank you everyone at Royal Alex. ????
Was transferred here from another hospital, I recieved wonderful care from all staff, just as I did from NECHC. Had specialized scans scheduled for 9am, moved to 1pm and then moved again to 3pm. Things happen, it's a busy hospital, I was already admitted at NECHC and transferred by ambulance to Royal Alex, so it's not like I had somewhere to be, I was stable and doing okay at that time. I could hear over the intercom that the trauma rooms were filling up and patients had coded, so in comparison to that, I had no issue waiting an extra 6 hours for my scans and tests. All of the staff were compassionate and patient during my stay and I am grateful for the care I recieved.
I had my first child there. Doctor Patel treated me unfairly. I was crying the whole time during labour because of the words she was saying to me. After delivery, one of the nurses told my husband the baby came with her hands up. I still don't understand why the doctor was telling me to push until I was exhausted if the baby came like that. I felt lonely and helpless. I wished my mom was there. Unfortunately, she couldn't travel because of covid. Finally, they use forceps which was terrible. All the nurses were nice.
Unreal my partner went through triage this morning at 11:00 am and it is 6:40 pm he still has not been seen by a doctor. I called patient information line and they said he was discharged at 2:30 pm today while he is still sitting in the emergency suffering with no attention from anyone. This type of thing does not happen in third world country.
I was in outpatient for a bronchospy, the team was amazing.. Brittany you rule, have fun in Mexico..
I feel sorry for any old patients that are in this hospital. They hate old people. Very rude and get mad when you ask about your suffering family member. Zero respect from the doctor. She is not interested in his pain. Perhaps it is different where they came from and they hope the elder dies soon. I have spoken with other visitors about their families and they say the same.
Had to come to the Royal Alex for an ultrasound at 23 weeks. All the staff were amazing, however, trying to navigate your way through this building is a nightmare. This hospital is a literal maze, making the trek through the building incredibly stressful. I want to thank one lady in particular, Lori from the womans clinic. She walked me to my second appointment that day and ensured to have someone would walk with me back to the womans clinic so I didn't get lost again. I am beyond greatful for her kindness. 5 starts for Lori!
Dont go there I want to give it a negative rating but won't let me awful after my house passed away they phoned me and told me I need.to take care of things and it wasn't there job how do you sleep at.
Honestly I had a bad experience not only when I came to deliver my baby and then again today! I got turned away when I went to see my husband at emergency while they let white families go in and even sit at the waiting area. My husband couldn't do stuff for himself and all he wanted was to go to the bathroom and they wouldn't even let me wheel him to the bathroom. I stayed outside the emergency for half an hour saw people leave and went back to ask if it was okay for me to go in and they still turned me away. All my /my husbands efforts to reason with them were not heard or fullfilled. I was not asked not even one covid related question. I feel very frustrated at the experience I've had not once but twice.
I was wheeled to emergency room in B6 on 7 th February 2021 early morning, where I was well treated and given the best care by the doctor and the nurses there. I missed the male doctor's name who took care of me. Thank you very much to the nurse Megan and Valerie. They both had made my short stay comfortable, supported me emotionally and often checked if I'm good. I felt I'm in good hands. My prayers to all nurses and doctors there. May God bless you all. The staff in ultrasound room was equally good and professional. Ensured if I'm good while I was there. Thank you very much to you too. May god bless you To the paramedic EMS team My sincere thanks to paramedic who took me to the hospital on that day , Genevieve and Jessica. I was ensured im comfortable, warm , safe throughout from my house to the emergency room B6. God bless you both.
Wednesday Dec.08/2012 from the moment I went to the ER and finally to the surgery every nurse and doctor who helped along my journey, was absolutely amazing. They treat me with such a big compassion and patience Thank you all so very much for everything! Thank you Dr. Katelyn Bacon, Dr. Manuela Pattison Bacon, Dr. Babak Sharifi .Thank you nurse Anna,(52) Ron,(52) Mandy,(22) and more (sorry I don't remember all the names). I appreciate you all so much.GOD bless you !
The psychiatrist dr Rabeeh helped me out in a big way. I am very grateful to him.
Big and beautiful hospital!
I didn’t expect the service too much before I went to Royal Alexander Hospital to have my eye surgery under the pandemic situation. All the front line workers should have been exhausted. Amusingly, I had my eye surgery done successfully this morning. I reported to Unit 22 on the second floor of the Active Treatment Centre around 5am. All the staffs I met there including Dr. Carlos Solarte, the receptionists (all way through from Emergency, Main Entrance, unit…), the unit staffs, and the surgery staffs were amusing and very helpful by providing professional care to me. They always greet me with a warm smiles and voice. Dr. Carlos Solarte completed my eye surgery successfully. My double visions problem had improved a lot by noon after the surgery. I know that Dr. Solarte was busy in the morning because a bystander gentleman who assisted me to access the hospital before the hospital door was opened needed to do his emergency eye surgery too. I don’t know how to express my thankfulness in words to all of them. Give them big hands! Much appreciated!
A while ago I came there with an ear infection I was put directly into the psych unit my ear ruptured and I saw a doctor 5 days after admission. Another time I went there with chest pain, I sat in the emergency room for 6 hours waiting to see a doctor turns out I was there to see a shrink and I went home took some Nitro and my heart went back to normal and I went to work the next day. So after years of asking you for medical testing to find out what was physically wrong with my body I finally got the test I need to find out it's too late I'm going to die because I was neglected
Royal Alex is quite nice now, even though it is a hospital. Clean, bright easy to get around and clear signage to help you find your way. Masks must be worn at all times. They provide masks when you enter. Easy registration when you get there. And of course excellent medical care.
My wife and I went to the MRI Imaging center this week to get a scan done. The technician who assisted us (Delia) was nothing short of amazing. Professional, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, she made my wife feel completely comfortable during the prep and procedure - which is no simple task as my wife is a difficult stick for IV and somewhat claustrophobic. Thank you so much for taking such great care of her.
IM Just want to let people know to never go there m now i cant WALK in a wheelchair thanks to the surgeron
I found myself unexpectedly in The Royal Alex (Lois Hole, 6- East) last weekend. To say I was frightened would be an understatement. I had been brought by ambulance from the Manning Hospital in North Edmonton where staff were wonderful and did their best to keep me from worrying, for a CT Scan as they didnt have a machine there. Because of Covid my husband couldn't come with me or come into the hospital so the fact you are alone makes it so much harder. .The CT Scan was quite an experiene but the results were that I had a blood clot in each of my lungs, which was why I had been so out of breath the previous week. I was terrified and figured I was on my way out. The doctors and nurses were so amazing, so attentive and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I cannot begin to thank you all for all you did to make me feel so much better. There were so many nurses in and out of my room and each time they had to remove their gowns outside my door and put on a new one one. They have to do so much with regard to Covid protocols you cannot imagiine. I wish I could remember all your names you lovely people but Dr. Chan and Nurses Garrett and David and those whose names I regret not being able to remember, but you know who you are, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are doing an amazing job that I just can't imagine doing every day, especially in this crazy Covid world. You are the absolute best. Thank you, thank you! Sincerely, Christine Scott
First I want to say that ER and ICU staff are amazing!! Other than that, this is the WORST hospital I have ever had the misfortune of having my wife at. Day staff in unit 44 where amazing and wonderful, caring people. Night staff...... nurse Jolene, if you can call her a nurse, should not be in a position to care for another human life. I truly mean that. Very rude to patients, actually stirred my wife's tea with her gloved finger because they didn't send plastic cutlery and told my wife "it's okay it clean". I made a report to unit manager Gavin and he said he would take care of it, next night she had the same nurse who then, because I reported her, proceeded to treat my wife even more poorly. If you have a choice of where to go, do not go to this hospital. Very poorly managed. The only saving grace is the all the other wonderful nurses and staff. Big huge shout out to icu nurse Fraser and student nurse Charles. Thank you for your kindness and compassion.
I spent 61/2 days in ward 34 recovery unit,i had nothing but excellent quality care from all nurses, healthcare aides and physio. No complaints but hope i don't have to go back.
Necessary but not a preference for medical care.
This is the worst hospital I've ever had the misfortune to go to. The staff was terrible, rude and extremely unhelpful. The rules and regulations were so backwards and unsensical that they were causing more harm to the people coming in. My wife sat there in pain for 9 hours while homeless and drug addicts were given priory and I wasn't allowed to sit with her during this whole experience and some of the conversations that my wife overhead from doctors and nurses was shocking and disgusting! We have lost what LITTLE faith we had in this healthcare system and I have lost a lot of respect for the health care workers also, its an embarrassment and they should all be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves and their terrible performance.
Great experience as a first timer. I barely waited to be helped when I checked in. The staff and Dr. Sarah Lousie were all very friendly and helpful. I especially loved how Dr. Sarah really took her time to explain my conditions with me as well as my treatment options. I had a great visit and the doctor’s demeanor has really put me at ease.Dr. Sarah Lousie ( thrombosis clinic)is one of the kindest professional I’ve ever met, she listens, asks the right questions, takes her time and is honest. She made my day. From Pooja Devi ( patient) Thrombosis clinic Appointment date and time: 30 Dec 2021 at 9:00 A.M
I overdosed my first time doing cocaine, and came here. They kept me overnight, the night staff was caring and understood I made a mistake.. I was told I would be able to talk to a councillor in the morning. But instead I was awakend by a mean woman, who ripped my IV out of my arm telling me to get out of the hospital bed. I told her I didn't feel okay to leave, and I didn't have a ride. She told me word for word "maybe you shouldn't overdose next time"..as I was.leaving th hospital I collapsed on the street. And taxi driver helped me and drove me home for free. No compassion at all. It's disgusting.
my husband has been there for 19 hours, after entering into the emergency room and no one is assisting or checking on him. Not even to see if he needs water. Horrible hospital care
If you don't mind all your personal details being heard by everyone around you it's fine. If you believe it should be private as the law says we'll don't go here, because everyone will hear everything, have spent the last 30 mins listening to the interview with a minor who does self harm
My sister was taken to RAH emergency and then taken up to ICU after a tragic accident the nurses and doctors there were very compassionate and kind I have nothing but thank yous to say to them. It was a horrible situation and even though the outcome was death I am very grateful ???? she was at the Royal Alex.
I went to emergency Saturday night. The staff was so efficient. I was in and out within 3 hours which included X-rays, see the ortho specialist and being fitted with a boot. Thank you so much. I was so impressed. And I was from out of province!
I went into royal alex as a last straw. I've been to doctor after doctor after doctor here in the city and nobody has been doing nothing to treat me. For the last 2 months I've been in nothing but pain, unable to eat, constantly puking, passing out, having seizures and the last straw to push me into er was getting so winded I passed out walking 3 blocks to the bus. So I called 811 they sent out the non emergency transport and they dropped me off a royal alex. The first nurse was amazing, kind, gentle and cared. The doctor on the other hand. Told me I was lying about pain even after I puked on him for touching where I'm in so much pain, told me nothing was wrong with me, and told me to seek a family doctor because "they would be more equipped to treat me then the hospital" I was BARELY able to even walk out of the building cause I was in so much pain and this has gone on for 2 months. You would think as what is supposed to be the best hospital they would have competent doctors who actually wanna work and treat patients.
Yesterday I had a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy at the Royal Alex. From the moment I went to the ER for an ultrasound, then to the endoscopy unit, and finally to the surgery, every doctor and nurse who helped me along my journey was absolutely amazing! They all gave me the highest and most thorough level of patient care and treated me with such compassion and patience. It was truly an wonderful experience from start to finish, and so inspiring to see how hard our healthcare workers work to ensure their patients have the best and most comfortable time at their hospital, even with the added strain of COVID and limited resources. Thank you all so very much for everything, keep it up, it is very much appreciated and your hard work does not go unnoticed!
