They are so helpful and understanding of our situation. Compared to the last clinic, our doctor is kind, straight forward, and they made a plan of attack with us very early. I feel confident we will get pregnant.

Very rude receptionist did not wanna give her name so I can make a complaint against her after requesting to her to put me to a supervisor done by the name Tara responded to me claiming as a supervisor but instead of listening to she started defending her staffs rude behaviour with listening to me . Alberta Health service should do a reality check on their services so they should know how AHS employees behave with clients and patients. Very very disappointed today don’t know if anybody can fix these rude AHS employee and the Supervisor named Tara

I just want to say a huge thank you to Dr Wong and Dr Foong for following up a care for me. I really appreciate what you do especially setting up an urgent MRI for me. I left my GP’s office yesterday with a lot of questions and feeling scared and anxious. Thank you Dr Foong for explaining the report to me and thank you for showing urgency to my case.

Daniel Rogers

Bad service the yogurt tasted rotten and the chocolate was terrible do not come here if you want rotten luke warm yogurt, for some reason they lock it in rooms with metal doors and it ruins the experience

Jenny Do

I am not sure what other people was saying but the front desk staff was very friendly and give me a warm , welcome smile The nurses and my doctor show me that they care and very understanding of my case and try to find the best fit solutions for me ☺️ Thanks for taking care of me !!!

I have spent years in this clinic for multiple treatments. They seem to care about money and careless about patients. Nurses never answer their phone calls. If I leave a message there, I have to wait for a day to get the answer back. We pay a lot for IVF, but we got treated in a mean and cold manner. ****Recommend to do oversea like Thailand, China, Vietnam or even Mexico. I heard Mexico offer package 1st one work or 2nd attempt free or 3rd with little money and their prices no where near this clinic cost.

Kathryn Hilman

I was referred here by my Endometriosis specialist, Dr Wagner. No troubles with the staff (the front staff I dealt with were very kind), and the doctor didn't jump IVF down my throat so that was nice. If you have fertility issues, or suspect you may have Endo, please go to a specialist - 1 in 10 women have this disease and it causes infertility. The amount of misinformation in the world about this crippling disease is so widespread it's akin to the misinformation about AIDS in the 80s, and this clinic is no different. Please, please, please if you have Endo or suspect it join the "Nancy's Nook" Facebook group for the latest research on your disease. It's not the clinics fault - most doctors are 10yrs out of date with the latest medical research. You deserve better. I was devastated to be told I wouldn't need my surgery to remove the disease if I got pregnant because the pregnancy would "burn out the Endometriosis" - even if that were true, which it's not, what about the scar tissue or the adhesions the disease causes when it tears the organs it's implanted on apart? Endo can be found anywhere in the body - pregnancy can't fix organs that are twisted, damaged, or structurally malformed. Take the advice here with a solid grain of salt. Do not let this place be your last resort.

Amazing the best care I could ever have had. I had a tubal reversal done by Dr. Patterson and Dr. Wong. The care and attention was unbelieveable. I could never say in words how much this clinic rocks!!! From calls at home to the attention the day of procedure simple amazing!!

I was afraid to go to RFP when I initially read all of the reviews, but they are the busiest and, in my opinion after experience with both Calgary clinics, the best, for a reason. I do find that working with them can feel impersonal at times, but after doing IVF there I can say that I always felt like I was in great hands. Every doctor I met with was kind and knowledgeable, and the nurses were outstanding. Even the pharmacy was incredible to deal with, and their prices were amazing. They made sure that they only filled what I needed, and in the end I didn't have a drop of extra meds. The only people I didn't love were the front desk staff. Last time I was in was on a Saturday so maybe they thought no one could hear them, but they were actually complaining about a patient and her excessive calls. So unprofessional. Overall, rfp made a difficult time easier and we couldn't have made it where we are without them. ????

So far, all of my experiences and interactions with the staff and Dr's have been great, they are knowledgeable, accommodating, empathetic and very efficient. Being from out of town, they try to streamline appointments to minimize trips to the clinic and having a Pharmacy on site makes things that much easier for the out of town patient. I felt informed and supported throughout the entire process (IVF) by both nurses and Dr's. The nurse that assisted with my egg retrieval, literally held my hand the whole time and made me comfortable and at ease. Although we haven't had the outcome we wish for, I feel we're working with the best possible team to make our goal a reality!

We just went through 2 failed IVF attempts here, which ended up as miscarriages. We felt like we were just a client. After $7k and countless needles and blood tests and exams, and 2 failed rounds, we could have used some words of comfort. We are 36 and just young enough but also getting old enough as well. I feel like we wasted of a lot of time and a lot of money. I'm glad some women were successful here but if you are any where out of the status quo for candidates, I would be weary. Unfortunately, you don't know until you've been through the procedure. I CAME ACROSS A BLOG THAT WAS VERY USEFUL. PLEASE SEARCH "my IVF pregnancy" on Google for a blog about one girls IVF journey. And health care doesn't cover here anyways, but you can also see cost comparisons throughout different clinics across the world. I wish I found them earlier.... Update... We are expecting our first daughter in 1.5 months. My wife was under the care of Dr. Minh, he was very caring and empathetic, and maybe its luck or nature, but it was under his care that it happened!

Carly C

I was nervous after reading the reviews but I have had nothing but positive experiences at this clinic after going for over a year. Whenever I have to leave a voicemail for the nurses they promptly return my call, the receptionists are friendly and Dr. Gotz is very patient and kind and takes time to answer all our questions.

Jeong Michelle Liu

This is just my opinion from experience from the regional fertility clinic. I feel that the regional fertility has a basic medical technology. My two girl friends also failed in IVF from the regional fertility clinic in 2017, including me. One of my girl friend and my case were not complicated at all. if your infertility case is little bit complicated, it is better going on searching USA fertility clinic or other advanced fertility clinic in oversea. The regional fertility is all about money. I had a strong sense of that the Regional Fertility clinic is taking advantages of infertility couple and not helpful.

Chase R

They need to answer their phone more, it would be awesome if they could create online booking.

anitha mahadevan

Nurses are too fast in providing information. They don't let the their client express what they have to tell. They call and pour out all the information they need to and hang up immediately. Could have better communication strategies for better client outcomes

Jesus “Mexican Lion”

Don't waste your money and Time. since the first visit the Dcotor berly pay atention to mh wife to all her questions. Never look her in the eyes while speaking. They have a sence of hurry to get you in and out. I felt it like a Money grab. I understand that in Canada (Alberta) the health system is free so the doctors don't care they just want you in and out their office ASAP. but in this case you are going to spend thousands of dollar is not free and they Doctor looking at the computer instead of looking at you BERLY answer your questions. Also in this clinic is a waste of time my wife after waiting for an entire month she received an email saying that they have to many requests for the test she needs so she needs to wait another month to do it (next menstraul period). Are you serious and thats just a Test can you imagine how the entire process will be. NO THANKS ! the SOLUTION is travel to Mexico, half price or less than that, every couple that I talk to that had this process always needed 3 o 4 cycles so $25,000 dollars and some of them years Later got pregnant. In Cancun Mexico is Garantee that the first try works or the second is free and the 3rd only couple thousand dollar. People from all around the world (mostly Europeans) do their treatments in there. After your skype or facetime first "consultation" the doctor gives you his direct email and you have like 2 other emails, they answer any question you may have in hours or less, you can even call them directly DOCTORS and CLINICS doesn't act like if they are the "Prime Minister" or a "Famous Rock Star" like in Calgary; where you jusy leave messages and receive a generic email back. Is a no Brainer.

Brooke Ramsay

Completely unhelpful on the phone. They won’t give you any information. They want you to pay the consultation fee but give you any information about what the consultation entails. The lady booking the appointments is not very smart and talks in cirlcles to avoid any questions. I would not recommend a place that you are sinking that much money into and they can’t even answer questions.

K Sara Munkittrick

I realize that my experience may chance over the course of this process, but for now I have to say that I feel like these other reviewers have been going to a completely different centre. The staff have always been incredibly responsive, generally getting back to me within one day. I have also never felt any pressure whatsoever around making decisions and they have always been willing to answer more questions. As a single woman pursuing parenthood on my own, I have been met with nothing but enthusiastic support at this centre. I would highly recommend making an appointment with this facility to find out more and see for yourself the high quality of customer care.

Amber Laws

The staff is incredibly helpful! Everyone is super kind and very understanding. They answered all my questions to the best of their ability and made the environment very comfortable for my procedure!

asgad sabir

I would not recommend anyone to go to this place. I went to get fertility treatment i ended up removing one of my tube and ovary it was a horrible&worst experience, doctor and nurses are careless. This place just care about money. Zero star

Amber T

I would give minus stars. We did all the testing and nervously sat in the room to talk to the doctor to get the results. As soon as Dr. Wong walked in he looked me up and down, you all know that look, and said that clearly my issue was that I was fat. Being plus size, I am used to this, sadly, but was very shocked that he wouldn't even say hello before saying that. Without opening our test results, he told us that we would not qualify for IVF because they don't carry insurance for people of my size. I am not 500 lbs or anything so I'm not sure what their insurance would cover then. He insisted I must have diabetes even after been told repeatedly that I get tested frequently because of a family history. After hearing his weight lecture for 10 minutes, I asked if there was anything my husband could do, assuming he had read the test results for him too. He simply said he could get more sleep. I cried the whole way home because I felt so ashamed. When I got to see my own doctor shortly after, he pulled up the test results and told me that my results were normal and my husband's count was actually a little low. My doctor was angry when I told him what happened. I will never go back here and never recommend them to anyone.

Anna Kr

Great doctors and absolutely terrible nurses, but we made it and that all that matters. However wouldn't hurt if you were nicer... people who are coming here are in very difficult life situation and really don't need your attitude. Highly recommend dr.Gotz - very polite and friendly, he helped us a lot. Don't give up, guys!

Brandi Lee

Theres a reason the reviews are all so low here. Do your research. Thrre are lots of options.

Sudha Higgins

They are horrible !

I waited to write this review until I was sure I was done with the RFP. Now that I am, I think there are things you should know. I will be writing a complete letter to the RFP with recommendations for improvement to benefit patient experiences. For now, here is what you should know: 1. "Fertility" is a misnomer: they are not in the business of improving fertility, except selling you IUI or IVF services. 2. Once you sign up for a service, you will likely never speak to your own physician or see them at any point throughout the process: there is no continuity of care. I've been inspected by each and every nurse and physician there, but my own. 3. The pharmacy is useless: beyond providing you with your meds, don't expect them to provide you with any information on expected side-effects or what to expect. These are serious drugs, but no one warns you ahead of time. When I asked for information, I was told to look it up online. 4. The patient is usually wrong (even if we're not): I asked for a copy of my chart and had to ask them to correct improperly documented information on treatment choices. I was told "can't you just note that in your own copy of your chart?" I had to push back to have this corrected in the original records. This is the client service you can expect. This is but the tip of the iceberg. Expect frustration and disappointment - and that's on top of having to go through fertility issues and dealing with your own emotions. If you can go elsewhere, you should.

CLB

They don’t care. If they have your money, they won’t care. The doctor is so un empathetic and cold. No time made for patients. The IUI nurses just want to rush and get off the phone with you while you have questions. Some, not all. Avoid this place and go to Edmonton

Jonas Billy

I'll say don't waste you money and you time this place 110%

I have my my 7 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. I am forever grateful.

I have had 2 appointments so far and wanted to write a review because I was very hesitant going into my first appointment due to the poor reviews. My experience with the clinic and Dr. Paterson has been excellent. I have not started any treatment, but I can speak to the following points: 1. Appointments have always run on time and the Clinic is very accessible and has ample parking. 2. The Clinic appears very well organized and seems to have a very defined process for everything (from intake of new patients to scheduling tests). I am sure this is to ensure the best service possible and to manage the amount of people they need to see. 3. Dr. Paterson has always come across as caring and knowledgeable. She doesn't try to rush appts. and always answers our questions. 4. The staff at the front desk seem to be well trained and are always friendly. They have been great with helping us book appts. given timing constraints (getting in quicker) and all of the other patient appts. they are managing. To add context to my review-I have had previous experience dealing with medical specialists and have refused to see Dr.'s in the past due to my experience with them. The biggest thing for me, and probably most people seeking treatment at the RFP Clinic, is to feel human (we want to be heard and expect compassion) and to know they trying everything they can to help. I can only imagine how complex fertility is. As much I can hope for a positive outcome, I know it may not happen. I have already done as much as I can to get myself healthy (eating well, exercising, reducing stress, managing my BMI etc.), the Clinic is my last stop.

Gurjeet Bansal

staff attentive but I did not receive proper guidance where it mattered. my estrogen level plateaued before mid cycle and had my doubts that the cycle would be successful. on the day of the HCG shot prior to follicle retrieval I asked to see my doctor for advice to discuss my options and success rate but none was available for clarification. Had to be left with nurses to make the decision blindly in half an hour, which was the difference between spending and saving $7000. :(

I truly don’t understand why the so bad reviews. They are amazing, the Edmonton fertility clinic, that one was bad, no wonder it closed its doors. I did treatment in Toronto and is very similar the service. And as an out of country patient, working too with a clinic in Houston TX, I realized how well organize the RFP is, at a much more lower cost (in our case 1/2 price the USA). Yes, they don’t open as early as TO (6:30 am) but in Houston, ultrasounds start at 8 am! Most clinics don’t have physiological support or is extra if they do, they even talked to us about alternatives like adoption (what a shame they are not working directly with the adoption agencies). They are honest on their approach, in my case Dr Foong listen and we planned things together, they took our opinion in consideration, and they were always clear with the risks and the chances things will not work. I even had a doctor on call helping me to get medicine when I forgot one box. They gave us time, and we were able to hold the treatment when we got our adoption placement. I did get pregnant with them and I have a healthy 2nd baby, but it was team effort, we had 2 loses too, so not everything was perfect… Thank you ????

I am very happy and grateful to my physician (Dr. Gotz) and the team at RFP in Calgary. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is struggling with infertility, or looking to preserve fertility for their future. RFP uses evidence based technologies and treatments that are tailored to each patient. In addition; they demonstrate a high level of care and compassion to their patient population. RFP is one of the oldest IVF programs in Canada; and consistently demonstrates strong success rates year after year compared to other Canadian clinics.

Tashi Ara

Very unhelpful stuff, never answer the phone, they don't tell you what the actual problem is, they don't have other treatments they directly refer you to IVF. They just only want to make money.

Angie Saltman

Dealing with this clinic and going through treatment was painfully hard on my mental health. Not a nurturing environment, its clinical alright.

Color of Paint Time

Be careful not to buy all your medications at once. You don't need too. Do your own calculations and make your own decisions while doing your treatment. Be ready for rudeness on the phone and being treated like a business project and not a person. Don't trust all that said to you and again do your own research.

Kara Sallows

I have been attending the RFP here for 2.5 years and initially started with clomid or letrozole for the first year, then tried 3 IUIs with no success. Neither my husband or I have any diagnoses. We started out with Dr Scott but found her a bit abrasive and felt she didn't explain things even when asked repeatedly. We switched to Dr Foong after a recommendation and have been very happy. We are now looking to IVF after 3.5 years of TTC. One star down due to the administrative side of the clinic, as has been mentioned many times here. Throughout the process, you never get to talk to a person, you always have to leave a voicemail and then the RN calls you back... As you pace anxiously! Please, please get your staff to answer the phones, don't use a voicemail system, especially for IVF patients! All staff has been lovely.

Leslie Payne

I have always loved RFP and after yesterday I love the drs and nurses there even more. I was 3 days post transfer yesterday and started having really bad pains in my stomach and side. It was the worse pain ever. I called the after hrs number and Dr O'Kean was paged and called me right away. Within twenty mins he was meeting me at the clinic. He checked me over did ultrasound couldn't find anything. Ovaries good everyrhinf baby wise is good. He insured me over and over again that everything babywise was great. He then sent me to FMC where I met Dr Fox that Dr' O'kean called a head and said I was coming. After some tests I was told my kidney stone I knew about was making its way down. The whole team at FMC plus Dr O'Kean made sure that every med everytest was pregnancy safe.. Can't thank them enough. One of the nurses at RFP then called me this morning cause she heard what happened and wanted to check in on me. Again RFP has an amazing team.. love you all xoxo

Liberty Pasion

They will never remind you for your appoitment they will just blame you for forgetting your appoitment.. got may surname wrong.. email address wrong then you will be surprise for $95 dollars miss appoitment.. no consideration at all..

Samanta Soto

I'm very happy to start my journey to have a little one! The doctors are wonderful but I feel like I'm getting the run around iv been wiaitng a week and half almost 2 for 24 hour yest results they said they would give me the next day. I'm tired of making phone calls to them everyday just to get fluffed off. It's very discouraging at this point

Egyptian beauty

Great clinic and staff only downside is appointments you don't find right away and often have to wait a while to get one for a follow-up with your doctor but otherwise very good.

Jeff

If it works for you great here, but is nothing but a money grab. Horrible experience here. Would never recommend this clinic to any couple.

Alison S

While I understand that my perception of this clinic is likely dependent on the outcome of our treatment, I have to say that I have been very happy with the Regional fertility program. We received an appointment very quickly after our referral, and at the first and subsequent appointments, our doctor clearly reviewed our test results, outlined our options, and was open to the direction we decided to take. Although the nurses do not answer the phone line directly, they always returned my voicemails within 1 day and answered all my questions. When I did have a medical concern on a Friday at closing time, several nurses and Dr. Wong stayed late to help address my issue and resolve it before the weekend which was greatly appreciated. Ultimately, we have a healthy baby and will be forever thankful to the RFP for helping us to get here! The one area that the Regional fertility program could improve on is its customer service. Although the clinic provides high quality care, it can sometimes feel impersonal. Considering the highly emotional and sensitive type of care they provide, it may be nice to have a consistent nurse for each patient to provide more consistency and personalized care. Overall, I would recommend the RFP and am happy with our results.

Darren Schimpf

I have to renege my previous post I was contacted by Doctor Phong who was able to view the issue from her patients point of view and make thing fair on both playing field. Again thank you for your time and concern.

Lynne Tal

If you have major problems they are unable to help you. They are unwilling to try different treatments or deviate from their usual approach to IVF.

Concerned Canuck

If I could give this place a minus 5 stars I would - please do yourself a favour and avoid like a plague. Worst experience possible. Extremely slow staff with no sense of urgency whatsoever especially the nurses. Physicians are unfortunately not much better - they lack personal touch and their technique appears to originate right from behind the Iron Curtain at the height of the Cold War - certainly does not belong in the allegedly first world country's medical system in the 21st century. Again steer away and look at places in BC like VFC and you won't feel like you wasted whole bunch of time and even more money. How they stay operational is beyond me.

Nicole Pominville Leclair

This clinic has been absolutely wonderful to us! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, I always have my calls returned in a timely fashion, and appointments booked within a couple months. Dr O Keane has been great to deal with and addresses all of my concerns.

Rose A

The staff is so rude at this place. The doctor I see; she isn't so friendly either. We spent so much money here. And every time there is a problem. They don't care about your feelings ! All they want is MONEY. I wish they bring some changes and improve their services.

After a 5 year journey. I have patiently waited to write this review. Dr Foong convinced us our eggs were ‘acting old’ and we should ‘throw everything and the kitchen sink’ into our treatment. We are young but we agreed. It failed (30k later). There is many things wrong with this place from never being able to get ahold of someone, to the multiple doctor approach they use, to no follow-up. After a laparoscopy with our local ob/gyn that revealed endometriosis that was subsequently removed, we have a happy ending naturally. Research and try your options with your local ob/gyn first people. Shame on Dr Foong and Regional Fertility for the money grab and not presenting us with ALL of our options. They use patient fear to their advantage. Most things have answers if you seek them out.

T. L.

Sum in one sentence, long story short : Dr.Scott don't care for the patient, she just care about money.

Dustin Boyce

If you want or feel that you are a candidate for In Vitro fertilization then this is your place. My wife and I were looking for options to help is get pregnant and were basically given the cold shoulder. If they cannot sell you In Vitro they want almost nothing to do with you. They will do what it takes to convince you that In Vitro is your only choice even though you haven't been down any other paths. My honest opinion is that they are not focused on "fertility " but rather on selling people on IVF

Katrina B

We have been seeing the clinic for about a year now for initial testing, some medicated cycles, and now we have just had our first IUI this week. I have experienced nothing but kind and caring staff - I have seen a lot of bad reviews so I thought I needed to post something positive. Yes, they have a phone message system, but my calls have always been returned promptly, and anytime I have spoken with our doctor, the front desk staff, or the IUI nurses they have been nothing short of caring and helpful. I would recommend this clinic to others struggling with Infertility.

carmela code

I received a diagnosis of unexplained infertility from the clinic and was told that IVF was my only option. I was left in total despair receiving this news and made the decision to do IVF but now I am much smarter and more careful and have looked for help from other clinics who advised me that their are other options and that IVF should always be the last resort and not the first. During IVF I was given a rather low dose of drugs and did not make very many eggs, ultimately was told to do another IVF. I never received a proper explanation as to why my drug dose was low but was told by the doctors that "its too late now" and that they will give me more drugs (practically double) next time. Next time? After $10,000 + meds why wasn't I treated with the respect and dignity of doing everything you can to get it right the first time. Once I paid for the IVF I never saw my doctor, not once and during my monitoring I felt like a number and I believe that I was monitored poorly because my drug dose was never increased to improve my results and I was told on my very last blood draw before retrieval by the nurse that they were not getting good readings from me because I was dehydrated, they told me this on my last blood draw! I started to see the clinic for what it really is, and felt that the doctor mislead me in believing that I had no other options. If a fertility doctor is not willing to exhaust all options and give you some hope then this is not the right doctor or clinic for you. I know we are all vulnerable and desperate for help but please try and get more then just one opinion from another clinic before commiting to treatment from RFP. I had read and heard of other bad reviews / experiences from this clinic but never thought I would be that person, how naive of me.

R M

I think the staff members are nice and genuinely care about you. I really do wish I could just talk to a human on the phone rather than always going through the lengthy leave a message, email, call back process.

KING MOE

Worst clinic in Canada Here the steps you will go thru when you deal with this horrible clinic: First they call you to meet you and to explain the process witch you can find it on you tube except they charge $300 to see a video and to hear some words from a low steam (dr green calvin). After they take the full amount of the IVF you are on you own to search for the next step and good luck calling the clinic. This clinic need to be closed and DR ( Diarrhea calvin green) should be locked up.

Coco Taylor

Worst experience I have ever had: We’ve had success with another fertility clinic This one is terrible/ please do your research before tou give them your money

PonyTail Kitten

This clinic is the worst in Canada, they literally are only in it for the money. They prescribe pills to woman to ensure they do not carry, so that you come back after such a horrid loss. They are not who you think. They never have the same doctor working with you, not even once. They place more embryos then they say. They do no follow up after or during a miscarriage. They have an answering machine that no one ever returns calls on. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC UNLESS YOU want to FLUSH YOUR MONEY AWAY!!! Staff is rude and pushy.

Katie Schock

Dr Gotz

C P

If I could give zero, I would. I would highly suggest doing your research in Calgary (Oasis Clinic), Vancouver and in the US (the price differential is not what you would expect). The wait times are terrible, the response times are terrible, and the Dr. don't provide any plan as to what you can expect. Went to this clinic for close to a year, before getting a second opinion from additional doctors, both of whom spotted issues with my husband and my results that are abnormal, but RFP said were "normal". Extremely frustrating place to deal with.

Ada c

The front office staff were really nice. Did all the tests and met with Dr Selma ( now retired). Long story short , the last conversation we had was her talking to me like a 5 year old that had done something wrong . She told me that I don't have enough egg reserves and should not even bother to find a solution . I knew my egg reserves were low and that I also have PCOS. I was only calling to find out if there was something I could do as I am not even 30 and the options available were very expensive . She went ahead to say " I already told you that your only option is getting an egg donor or adoption " . I was shocked at the way she spoke to me . There was no empathy at all. She didn't care I felt and it was basically " there is nothing we can do, goodbye" . Again, I am giving this 2 stars because the nurses and other staff were really nice and polite . However, my experience with Dr Selma Scott left a bad taste in my mouth.

Alisha Dewald

Absolutely amazing !!! Great doctors and nurses very knowledgable. .... I had 1 fresh and 1 frozen cycle done and have a beautiful healthy 2 year old son and 2 month old daughter ! They deserve more than 5 stars in my opinion

Ash H

It was very annoying trying to schedule an appointment with them as they refused to see or test me without my partner there who works in Fort Mac, I was also given bad results by a trainee who didn’t have the answers I needed and I waited 45 minutes for dr Foong just for a proper explanation. All that being said I am 6 weeks pregnant after my first IUI cycle so I have zero real complaints as they got the job done.

S R

This first time I ever writing review because I never want to see any lady go through when they already dealing with fertility issues. Worse service ever even though I never booked my second IUI they still charge me after talking to someone phone they said ok I see you never confirm you won't get charge but after 3 month I get mail with outstanding fee. Then I called the office the girl fully denied said it says it's confirmed and second person I talked with they never said technically they can put their words in your mouth. All they want is your money that's all they care more no help, nor they will try to figure out what's the reason behind infertility all they want is you to pay for 4 or 5 session for IUi if that doesn't work pay money for IVF just waste of time and money.

Jennifer Brogly

This clinic is poorly run and I had a very negative experience. When we decided to freeze our embryos last minute because I was feeling so horrible, the physicians did not adequately inform us of the costs of delaying implantation, which was a nasty $2100 surprise. They do a very POOR job of informed consent. Also, everytime I phone the office, i can never talk to a human being and instead leave voice messages. This phone tag resulted in a delay of my treatment. From one reasonable person to another, I would seriously consider another clinic.

CalamityJane031

I just completed an IVF cycle. The doctors were prompt through the monitoring processes, and it felt like a well oiled machine. By the time I was finished with the blood draws, the other nurse was ready to take me to the ultrasound. My retrieval nurses were wonderful, and the doctor explained everything. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, tbh. And the embryologist Marty, he was absolutely phenomenal. His daily phone calls with updates, and explanations was so great to have!!! However, once I got a positive beta, this is where things have fallen off. I felt like I was kicked out of their care. I was not sent for repeat beta, even though I asked for it. I was told to call my local doctor. My area takes weeks to get in to see local doctors, so it was a struggle to get booked in for the ultrasound they told me I needed - but wouldn't book themselves. I've experienced a ton of anxiety post - positive. And yet, zero care from them on this. I've been to a couple clinics, and I'm part of numerous groups in the infertility community, and they're the only ones who operate this way. Absolutely disappointing. And then they had the audacity to ask for a copy of my ultrasound "for their records", which I have declined. Fair warning to anyone going through treatment. The second you get a positive, there is absolutely zero follow up. So perhaps have an appointment booked with your local doctor for around the time you're expecting a beta so there aren't any delays. And don't expect them to check in on you afterwards. I'd have given 5 stars if not for this.

Long time waiting, unhelpful staff, very frustrating.

This has been the absolute worst experience of my life. If i could give no stars, I would. I have cried every single time I have spoken with them on the phone. Every time I call, they make me feel terrible, yet do nothing to explain to me what is going on. They told me I had to get a prescription, without telling me what the drug was, or what the side effects of the drug was. I left the first consultation with them overwhelmed and incredibly confused, they rushed through it so fast, I didn't even know what my next steps where. They are also very impersonal, and not helpful whatsoever. I left my first appointment feeling overwhelmed and confused. I didn't even know what my next steps where, but I was rushed out the door so fast I couldn't even ask any questions. The entire process with this clinic has been a nightmare, and I am only in the beginning stages of this journey. It is so immoral that this clinic makes a hard situation for people even harder. People who are struggling to conceive and are struggling emotionally then have the added hardship of dealing with this clinic, making the process even more frustrating. You would think they want to help families, but it is evident they don't. I HIGHLY RECOMEND looking at other options!

Once they run you through and have your money, impossible to get hold off and don't return calls. When you need their help most.

Vanessa Malthouse

I was worried because I saw lots of reviews saying you were treated like a number here, but I have the opposite experience. I am currently going through an IVF cycle with Regional Fertility Program and they have been amazing at answering all of my questions, getting back to me promptly and caring about what is happening with me. There was one nurse, Jenny who has been amazing!! Things weren't going well for me and I called the clinic, they got a nurse for me right away (Jenny) and she was so caring and concerned for me. Went above and beyond and wanted me to call with an update every 20 minutes up until she was off her shift as she was concerned. Then the following day she called me to see how I was feeling. I definitely don't just feel like a number at Regional Fertility Clinic!!

Very supportive staff very professional Doctors. It took me 3 years for treatment and long wait finally paid off with a beautiful daughter. I can’t thank enough their team.

Had one of the most humiliating experiences of my life at this clinic. My partner and I split about a month ago, and I still wanted to go for my last fertility test to know for myself. I’m 39 years old and spent the last 8 months going through tests, waiting for a referral and waiting for follow ups. I went for my HSG, which was brutal for me, and went for my follow up appointment. I paid $8 for parking and got up to the clinic, only to realize I had written down the wrong time and was 2 hours late. Totally my bad. With a painful breakup and move, I missed the confirmation email. That I own. However, when the receptionist asked where my partner was, I informed her my partner had split recently, and was hoping to get the results and analysis for my own knowledge, and that I thought about seeking fertility options, on my own. After asking the doctor, he said that he would not be able see me as a single patient. That I would have to get a new referral from a gynocologist and start the process all over so that they could change my chart over to a “single” file or something along those lines. I paid them the $35 fee for missing my appointment and left with nothing. My body, my fertility, my results, but the doctor won’t see me because I’m no longer in a relationship. Oh, and she said he wouldn’t release my chart to another clinic until he’s reviewed it... based on how long the wait lists are to get in for an appointment, I’m guessing this will take forever....this felt hugely discriminatory. I left crying and cried the whole way home. Thanks for making an already painful time, even more excruciating.

Came here for consultation and Doctor Gost is awesome. He takes his time to answer all my questions. The 2 nurses that I dealt with both time seem to want to rush us out the door. On my first appointment I got very confused as to when my wife supposed to go to ultrasound and when to do blood test. We got caught off guard when Dr Gost was indicating that my wife missed her blood work. I would suggest the clinic to give us a step by step instruction on paper as to when to do blood test and when to do ultrasound. Having a nurse who is in a rush to explain all these is not very efficient. On my second appointment, again Dr Gost explained very well the findings from the labs and he suggested for us to go for IUI. He then asked a nurse to come in to explain the whole process to us. Again we are very disappointed with this nurse. She came in and asked if we have any question instead of explaining the whole process to us. She sat as far to us as possible I felt like. At the end she told us there is a sense free policy and she smelled perfume on us. We did not see any posting anywhere in the clinic. She is more of a confusion to us then of any help. She is more focus on herself than the patients. To sum up we would come back to this clinic again for treatment but hopefully their nurses can put patients first and explain the details more clearly.

Worst experience! I left humiliated, hopeless and crying. I was referred before my husband and we were led to believe that he’d be able to attend if we had his referral faxed. We did just that and were told it was against their policy to have him accompany me to my appointment, just to listen to my results, because his referral was at the office but had not been triaged. Specialist then told me “there’s nothing we can do from a fertility standpoint”. She seemed shocked at my reaction (crying) and finally the resident in the room had the sense to go get my husband to support me! This place really takes the care out of health care.

Lauren Stahl

Very easy process. I like that we are able to call the nurses at any time and they usually return call within a few hours. They answered all of my questions and were very informative. I realize this is a stressful process for a lot of families, however I am so far very pleased with my experiences with the clinic.

tristan hyde

Not my first choice. Definitely shop around. Vancouver has some great clinics. We had Dr. Selma Scott. To put it nicely, not my first choice.

Anna S

Dr Foong is the worst most self centered doctor I have ever met, I saw her as my regular doctor was away, everyone else at the clinic is awesome just avoid Dr. Foong, she was 45 minutes late, when she came in she started talking about her other patient who is a teenager and rambled on and on about them. Then without even looking at my file she got up and said do more tests. She is inconsiderate, really full of her self . I am not sure how she is still practicing seeing she isn't even respecting client privacy and not to mention offering no real service. When I tried to ask questions as she got up she kept sayings i dont know, i dont know and walked out the door

I do not understand the negative reviews this place has been getting. My husband and I are starting our IVF treatments next month. We are seeing Dr. Gotz and he has been amazing and very patient and kind. All of the nurses and staff that I have spoken to in person and on the phone have been so great, kind and very knowledgeable. All of our phones call have been returned within the 24hrs. Yes it is a very sensitive journey and sometimes the nurses may be in a hurry but it doesn't give you a right to slander the place. I have talked to many different people and they have been wonderful. I cannot speak to any procedure as we will be starting next month. Also to the people saying they push you to IVF, that is not what happened to us based on our experience. WE chose to do IVF even after they suggested we could try the other less costly treatments.

can never get threw to them!!!!

Definitely would not recommend Regional Fertility Program for treatment. The investigation was completed with Dr. O’Keane, which was my only good experience with the clinic - very thorough and educational. When I switched to the treatment side, the nurses took over the coordination/ management/ planning of care and this is where the problems began. What used to be a call back within a couple of hours (summer/fall of 2019) is now taking multiple days (Mar-Aug 2021). Information I have received from nursing staff has been inconsistent and/or contradicting to what the doctors have told me, what other nurses have told me or what pharmacists have told me. (READ get everything in writing as you will always be wrong). What was supposed to be my most recent cycle, ended up being cancelled as the nurse returned my call 3 days after it was placed – the day I was supposed to start medication. She informed me that because the nursing team missed several things during the set-up process, I wouldn’t be able to proceed anyways. When I began questioning why things were missed as I had spent more than 6 weeks setting up this cycle, this nurse didn’t have an answer and told me a supervisor would call me back. I finally got a call back from the business manager 4 days later who bluntly told me that my money was being refunded, fill out a form and they would forward my chart at no cost before hanging up on me. I had no chance to speak or ask questions. Instead of acknowledging the communication breakdown and setting up another cycle, I was told to go elsewhere. With how quickly and abruptly they terminated my care, it has left me wondering if there was more missed on my chart than what I know.

Hard to get a hold of anyone at this clinic. Kept getting the run around while trying to book consultation appointments and they don't allow your partner to be in the room with you UNLESS they have a separate requisition sent even if it's just for emotional support. I live in Calgary and still chose to travel to a private in Edmonton for treatment and have been treated with nothing but respect and always receive responses in a timely manner AND also a live person answering their phones not just a automated message. I'm glad i trusted my gut and stayed clear of this office.

UPDATE: we’re seeking treatment at a clinic in BC & couldn’t be happier w/ the service. Our doc calls us (directly) even on Saturdays to discuss treatment & test results. RFC determined our case unexplained, & wanted to do the exact same (unsuccessful) IVF protocol a 2nd time. Within a couple weeks our new doc ordered tests we’d never heard of & provided an actual diagnosis & a new treatment plan. We have a dedicated nurse we can email & phone directly. Plus I have actual appointment times for my check ups (no taking a number/waiting for hours). Also, I had my new scripts filled at my local Sobey’s (open 7 days a week/not bankers hours like RFC). They do injection teaching & said they’d even inject the meds for me if needed. You have options - don’t settle for RFC. I’m very saddened to write this review but hope by sharing I can help others with their fertility treatment options. Diagnosed with unexplained infertility, I’ve undergone two IUI cycles & an IVF cycle with no viable/frozen embryos for future use. We’ve spent more than $20K but more importantly lost two years undergoing ‘treatment’. The bureaucracy of a non-publicly funded system is maddening. I’m looking for recommendations for alternate clinics in Canada or the US? Has anyone visited the new Oasis Fertility Clinic or know anything about the doctors there? My interactions with all staff at RFC (reception pharmacy, embryologists, even the lab techs at the sperm clinic) have been terrible. The nurses are pleasant but you will literally deal with a different nurse each & every visit so there’s no rapport or continuity. Never expect to speak to a human on the phone as leaving a message & waiting for a call back is the only option. Also, if seeking IVF treatment be prepared to arrive at the clinic an hour & a half before it opens each day to take a number (like you’re at a deli) then wait a couple hours for your bloodwork/ultrasound & prescriptions to be filled. There is zero logic to this no appointment policy as they know in advance which patients are expected each day (but can’t make appointments like every other professional service on the planet)? We were assigned Dr. Gotz initially but the doctors do not administer the IUI treatment & I had five different doctors during my two weeks IVF stimulation phase & two others for my retrieval/embryo transfer. Again, this system provides zero continuity or understanding of your specific case/treatment protocol, not to mention the discomfort of multiple vaginal exams with a person you’ve never met before. I was worried when my follicles weren’t responding as expected to the meds & questioned continuing with the cycle, but my concerns weren’t acknowledged & dosages increased (doubled, then tripled) at an out of pocket cost. Following a disappointing egg retrieval then a painful & complicated (abnormal) transfer of two severely fragmented embryos, I received a call from a nurse an entire week afterwards to see how I was doing? Even my vet calls me the day following an appointment to check on the well being of my cat, but at the RFC don’t expect that level of consideration. At our last appointment Dr. Gotz provided no answers or insight for the cause of the complications. He actually told me to try vitamin Q10 to improve my egg quality before the next time. Are you kidding me !?! It’s a $10 vitamin & should be one of the first suggestions! Even if I had a successful pregnancy I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. Many (not all) at the clinic, created undue stress throughout this process. I know it’s not the physician’s fault we’re experiencing infertility & science is lacking as to root causes, but that doesn’t change their overall lack of compassion, professionalism & apparent competence. I didn’t follow my intuition with the many red flags at this facility & tried to remain positive/gave them the benefit of the doubt, but that was a regrettable mistake. This clinic shares a building with @CBC & I’m strongly considering contacting Marketplace to investigate the industry as a whole.

Not serious about their patients, not professionals, Not recommend!! Very disappointed ????

I went here for years, which shows I had a maintained faith that they provide quality medical care (and I still have it). I wasn't successful but I think that has more to do with the range of issues I'm facing than it does with this clinic, which has been successful getting virtually everyone else I know who went there pregnant. I want to post a balanced review. First, the doctors - I want to say I was very happy. I appreciate some people are critical of the doctors who are perhaps less superficially charming and perhaps more direct. In my opinion, the RFP doctors are ALL kind and great to deal with one-on-one. They are all different in how they do this, but I was happy with the medical care and information they provided and felt they were all conscientious. As patients, we need to be able to accept differences in personalities in our care providers just as care providers accept and accommodate our differences in our personalities. The nurses are kind and try hard as well. The embryologists were wonderful, particularly Marty, but really all of them. It seems to me there is a particularly good quality embryology team at RFP, which is why I would recommend that anybody in Calgary go here first even if there appear to be other options. Nobody else has this resource in Calgary, and if your problem proves complex, you will need it. So why are people having emotionally wrought experiences here and posting negative reviews? The process is emotionally wrought and there is one thing RFP is doing wrong here that makes it worse, instead of better. They don't answer their phones. Reception will answer their appointment line, but nothing else. Sure, they always call you back when you leave a message. Sometimes they do it right away, sometimes hours later, sometimes a day later. This communication system creates a power dynamic that leaves the patient, already feeling powerless in the face of infertility, feeling even more helpless and insignificant. For how it feels to be on the receiving end of this dynamic, I would recommend that everyone at RFP type in "she can reach me" in a Google search of videos. That search will get them a 42 second video clip from season 4, episode 10 of the popular show SITC that really captures the emotional impact of this dynamic. I got a second opinion at one point from a fertility clinic in the States, and had no difficulties reaching them, ever. I could even email the consulting doctor directly, and he emailed back! He did charge me, but he wasn't making all that much off my consult. It is possible to be accessible. I had five miscarriages while in RFP's care, and was disappointed that there did not really appear to be a structured support program for patients dealing with the kind of recurrent miscarriages I had, where my body struggled to clear the 'tissue'. To his credit, my doctor at RFP did agree to see me to deal with this problem through miscarriages 2-5, and I got excellent care from him and his staff then. However, it seemed the nursing staff were trained to try to send me back to my primary care provider, which doesn't seem right to me. I suppose the failing could arguably be with our health system generally for not having a good recurrent miscarriage care program easily accessible to the public separate from RFP, and relying on a what is essentially a private fertility clinic to provide that care for AHS fees. Overall, I disagree that this clinic deserves a low rating. It deserves a very good rating. If it weren't for the "don't call us, we'll call you" communication system, I would give it five stars due to the quality of its people.

Kevin Johnson

Despite not having a good outcome while there, they were friendly and professional when we were there and all, however if you need something after or have questions - good luck with that. I've been trying to track down a simple thing as reciepts. You cannot seem to get anyone on the phone or a call back. Much better luck at another place in Eastern Canada.

Margo W

If I could give them negative stars, I would. I felt like I was looked at like than a number rather than a person at this clinic. After your initial consultation appointment and recommended treatment plan, if you need a follow up appt with your doctor it can take 4 months to get back in. That's completely unacceptable. It's very clear they are only in business to make money. They don't care about you or figuring out what's actually wrong with you. As long as they make money off of you, they are happy. I'll be seeking out help from a different clinic going forward. For those of you who require IVF treatments, I would check with the new clinic called Effortless IVF in Calgary to see if you qualify.

Lauren Krissa

I had two successful IVF treatments from this clinic and I would definitely recommend to others. Thanks to them my husband and I have two beautiful healthy children.

Ania & Mike Kolodziejski

We were patients of the clinic for 13 months. It wasn't easy time but we have healthy, beautiful son. Be prepared for staff rudeness, especially the fd ladies (lack of other words) Highly recommend doctor Gotz, we almost lost hope, but h told us, w will have baby and he can guarantee that. One way or the other. Do not give up!

Van Nguyen

We will never say "thank you" enough to all doctors and nurses at RFP for what they've done to us. They are knowledgeable, warm, sweet and caring. When you call, leave messages and they will call back right after that to answer your concerns. And sometimes, you have to understand that to able to answer your question as medical advise they need to know your situation before give your the answer so please patient and they will call back. Once you show up there for appointment seems like every body all know your situation and guide you in right direction. I'm highly recommend RFP for all people who losing hope in infertility. It's too early to say anything but what they've done to us until now is incredibly...!!!

sarah nickle

I was very nervous going in for my appointment because I had read all the negative reviews on here. But when we got there it all went so well! We had Dr. Gotz and he was so kind and patient with us, he answered all of our questions fully. Explained everything with my fertility, and his suspicions of what I may have, but in a positive way. Then he explained the coarse of action we were going to take with medications/procedures. He DID NOT go straight to IVF or IUI like I feared for. He started us out with other options first. And after our consult with him a nurse came in and re explained everything! She was so kind and explained all the things we were going to have to do for the next couple months, and said we could call their office for ANY questions we had! All in all it was a great experience, we left feeling VERY positive and hopeful. We lucked out and I am grateful. I highly recommend Dr. Gotz!

I was referred to the RFP in early June 2016 with a diagnosis of tubal factor infertility and by the middle of July I had a call to set up my first appointment and mandatory information session for September 1st and 2nd. Myself and my partner attended the information session on the evening of the 1st and then met with Dr Min on the 2nd. As we are out of town clients they arranged it this way to avoid excessive travelling which we were very grateful for. Both myself and my partner felt very comfortable with Dr Min and were reassured by his obvious extensive knowledge but also by his warm bed side manner. The day we met Dr Min we also signed all our consent forms and were told to call in on the first day of my next cycle. We were considered active patients within the next few days and started treatment early October. Any phone calls I made to them were returned usually within the hour. Although appointments are not scheduled for the daily or every other day ultrasounds and blood work the 'take a ticket-first come first served' system works very well and you are not usually sitting waiting for long. Although you don't meet with the same Dr every visit, all the Dr's on staff are really nice and put you at ease. All in all I have been very happy with the Regional Fertility Program and they made the whole IVF process run really smoothly. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Nicola Cylka

I don't understand all the bad reviews, I have just had my first IUI here and found the whole thing very professional and relaxing, from the initial visit with the Dr to phoning the nurses, to booking the procedure and so on. The nurses are all lovely and always always called me back within hours, I understand they work on a voicemail system so you will never get someone on the line when you initially call but they will call back fairly quickly. They explained everything to me and even accommodated us with appointments as we had to travel quite far to get there. The Dr explained all the options and didn't push us one way or another. Obviously as with everything a lot of googling is involved as they can't explain everything in detail but as long as you've read all the info they give you and read up on their website there shouldn't be any surprises. Even if this procedure doesn't work, I would give the clinic 5 stars. Never had to wait more than 10 mins for appointments and the nurse doing the procedure was really friendly and made me feel at ease. Great experience for me!

Jennifer B

Our doctor (Dr. Min) and the clinic staff have always treated us exceptionally. They are very knowledgeable, straightforward with their answers to our questions, and take the time to go over all our concerns. We have never had a problem getting through the phones, messages are promptly returned (even on weekends), and appointments seem to run on time. It's very convenient to have a pharmacy on site. The staff go above and beyond to ensure care (I didn't react well to the medicine given for retrieval and SEVERAL people stayed after the clinic closed to ensure I was okay). We have been very pleased with our experience, especially considering it's not an easy experience to go through.

Ashley Briggs

We had nothing but positive experiences here. I was set to start my first round of IVF six days before COVID shut down the world. When talking to the nurses and any staff members during a crazy situation they were nothing but kind and understanding to us as patients. When things started back up in May, I felt like they were taking all the necessary precautions to keep all of their patients and staff safe. We were always well informed and every one was straight forward. I like that no one sugar coated things, and was honest and up front. I saw so many different doctors and nurses during my different monitoring appointments, egg retrieval, and first FET. It can be a bit overwhelming never knowing who you're going to get on the day of appointments, but everyone I had was lovely. Thanks to RFP and all of your staff for all of your hard work I am currently 14 weeks pregnant.
