I am a few hours removed from having a kidney stone removed. While I didn't have a tonne of conscious facetime with Dr Metcalfe, I will say I was impressed by his staff. In fact, the entire Rocky View Hospital was awesome. I was well taken care of, and they were all genuinely nice to me. A huge shout out to the young man on the team with the tattoos. He was just so friendly and calming, I can honestly say that his brief interactions made me feel safe, if that makes sense. He was welcoming in a way I did not think was possible for such a visit. The surgery was a success, and I recovered quickly. I was cleared to go, and my ride arrived. Dr. Metcalfe took the time to call me and make sure I was ok, and filled me on on the details. The future has yet to be written, and being only 10 hours since I was put under, I still am feeling the effects of the day, so fingers crossed on a smooth recovery. That being said, from a man who has never had surgery before, I am blown away by the compassion and humanity of my experience. Thank you Dr. Metcalfe. Pew pew.
