Have been to the facility twice. The first time to have a kidney stone removed. Came on appointed day at 8:30 AM and waited all day. At 8 PM was informed that the Dr. was unable to fit me in and to come back same time tomorrow. The next day was a repeat of the first day. I finally passed the stone later at home. Went back again with a herniated disk. Waited three hours to be seen by a doctor. She spent 5 minutes with me confirming what I already knew and went away to get some pain medication. Over an hour later a nurse appeared with some pills. Before the Dr. left she promised to return after the pills kicked in. After waiting three more hours I walked out of the hospital. Again - no treatment. Just lots of "processing." Tons of support staff - a small number of bureaucrats with stethoscopes masquerading as doctors who can stich up a cut or apply a Band-Aid - but who are, in the main, just gatekeepers - and a very small number of trained specialists who actually treat patients until they get fed up with the limitations of State run healthcare and flee to the states. That is Government run health care.

My wife and I and our older daughter all got tested positive for covid. My wife had some of the warning signs such as unbearable headache, painful chest pain, and shortness of breath. 811 advised us to take her to the ER immediately. Upon arrival they didn't let me in (which I understand) but made her stand in line like everyone else, waiting for a check in. At this time she was barely able to keep herself up. About an hour later she got into the triage and waited an additional 4 hours, sitting upright in pain, and still hasn't seen a doctor yet. At this point I went and got her and checked her out. We will fight this out from our home, knowing that we can not rely on our glorious health care system. This is shameful and a big fail. You did not just endangered my wife's life but everyone else's around her, by not providing appropriate care and isolation.

I'm an RN at Foothills. For the first time I was on the other side waiting to get stitches. I jad no idea how slow our ER was at getting people seen. It was mind boggling

I have always received the best treatment and care from everyone in Foothills Hospital..

Raj Brar

Worst place to go in emergency, I was mistreated even after long hours waiting. I was flabbergasted to see Doctor misbehaving. Unsophisticated staff, no temperature screening at the entrance, you don't know if u r sitting among Covid Patients. Staff seems to be dupming their own frustration on Patients. AHS should read the reviews, we pay tax for service not for their stupid behavior.

Mahmoud Ismail

I waited for more than 4 hours in the “Emergency” department and then left cause they just let anyone in with no order????

Robert Kearney

Psychiatry unit is full over quack doctors forcefully pushing pills and injections into people. DrWatterson is a quack doctor who misdiagnosed me and even went as far as to making up an entire story to go with it, which in turn has made my life more difficult. Very Bad practice.

Thank you for your care while I was recovering from a broken back. The surgeon did an amazing job, and It looks as if the scar will be barely noticeable. All the nurses on the 10th floor (unit 101) were kind and caring and did everything to help make me comfortable.

Anne McC

Why I gave Foothills 5 Stars: To Unit 32 I'd like to thank all who cared for me and helped in so many ways during my 9 days there. I learned how to manage my oxygen to keep the % at the right level and why it needed to be done and so much more. You all are the best. And yes, the food was good, too.

Wendy Lee

Been going there since 1975 nd has always been the best hospital in Alberta at least. Most likely western Canada ❣️♥️????????

Sunny Wellington

Our family has had multiple visits here. Two kidney transplants, 3 week stay in the cardio unit, dialysis, emergency injury care etc. If you are visiting for consecutive days get a parking pass - it will be cheaper. Great cafeterias, cafe, art, pharmacy... For the most part the care has been excellent. The facility is much cleaner than others I have been in! Neat to see the helicopter come in on the landing pad.

Hans Beeres

Excellent service great job by doctors and nurses happy to be in Calgary thanks again for the help.

Sophie Paterson

Hell on Earth. Was sent directly by my oncologist with a severe liver infection and blocked biliary duct. Was forced to wait with covid patients for three hours in excruciating pain in a wheelchair. We even begged to allow me to lie on the floor but was refused. Staff were mean and intimidating and I was going into shock. Eventually was given a bed and then promptly forgotten. Instead of seeing a doctor they have me sedatives to knock me out. By the time I saw a doctor I was at serious risk.

Shamas Arshad

Keep on doing the Good Work.

Bob Askow

Some inconvenience due to covid but staff very efficient. Waiting area too cold on cold day. Consider rnstalling air curtains for cold days. ( ask Engineered Air ) . Too many ambulance staff waiting with patients. We need to train new staff to do that job so most ambulances can return to duty. Stretchers in hallway are not the answer

Jared W

they allowed ted cruz to be born here

Leigh W

Had a major hernia repair and everyone was fantastic. Despite the abuse some of these nurses received, they were all amazing. I was well taken care of and treated with the utmost respect.

The Mad Chef !

Place has changed. Used to be 5 stars but now staff rude, constant mayham with construction and ridiculous rules.

the mental health services at this place are awful. here's a few things that happened while i was hospitalized in the inpatient mental health units over the course of 2.5 months: - they almost completely ignored me when i made it clear to my assigned team there what i wanted to address in my stay there; instead the psychiatric team ignored the symptoms i had described just slapped a "unspecified anxiety disorder" diagnosis onto my file with no evaluation and left it at that. i never once mentioned anxiety during my intake. - i was forcibly admitted into the mental health unit against my will despite the nurse at emergency stating that there were multiple options that did not involve hospitalization. at some point after discussing the options another nurse declared that i had to be hospitalized. this all happened very early in the morning and i wasn't even offered a chance to sleep during all of this - i was physically dragged out of my room by several nurses into what was effectively a jail cell with no privacy, tied to a bed, and tranquilized via injection, all because i was having a completely nonviolent panic attack caused by distrust from previous experiences there. from then on they didn't allow me access to ANY of the things i brought with me to the hospital (INCLUDING CLOTHES AND TOILETRIES), despite the fact that all of it was deemed safe when screened at the beginning of my admission. it took my mother giving them a piece of her mind for me to get my bare essentials back, including things that they constantly berated patients in the unit (myself included during this period of time) for not using. - and last but not least, they didn't expect patients to wear a mask during covid times. this would not be a problem at all if it weren't for the fact that the nurses (the only people allowed outside of the unit) rampantly violated basic mask protocol by wearing them under their noses and pulling them down to speak to people within close range, to name a few examples. additionally, i had a few covid scares during my admission and had to be tested multiple times for one of them because the nurse kept doing it incorrectly, only to find out that they had, in fact, been doing the wrong kind of test the whole time. and that's just things that happened to me as one of the oldest people admitted (it was the adolescent psych wards, so i legally didn't even have the same rights as adults under the Mental Health Act). it was a regular experience to see nurses dragging off crying teenagers and locking them away claiming they're a danger to others, despite the fact that all potential weapons are confiscated upon entry, and that all of the kids i saw this happen to were smaller than most of the nurses and often just reacting to the situation they'd been forced into. in conclusion, if you want a mental health unit experience that makes your teenager come out even more hopeless than before, this is the perfect place to go.

Long wait times even if your sent to emergency by your doctor. Was sent away with a different diagnosis and left with questions. So now I have to go to another hospital to see if I can get answers and proper care for my fractured arm. The reception was helpful and people were nice but they seem focused on Covid and regular emergencies are falling through the cracks.

I'm a relative of a family member who had just recently lost her husband just last night, and our experience at the hospital was absolutely horrible. She was told (because of Covid precautions) that any updates will be given over a phone call, and to visit her husband, she would have to fully dress up (mask, shield and all, which is fine) because of a Covid case across the floor. We were okay with this, so we just stuck to visiting him via FaceTime and calling the nurse's office for updates. Here's the thing; the nurse never, and I mean NEVER gave us a single update over the two weeks we had our relative in the hospital. When we would call in to ask for updates, the receptionist would tell us that the nurses were busy (which is understandable, but we heard this each time) and would definitely call us back... we never got a single call back. NOT EVEN ONE. When our relative passed away, his sons and wife went to say final goodbyes. When they got there, they were instantly asked by a nurse to put on all of the protective equipment, TO SAY GOODBYE TO A DECEASED PERSON. She didn't even think before to provide some consoling or cause of death for them! The lack of empathy and communication these nurses had with us during this two-week nightmare was absolutely ridiculous, and this issue has to be fixed so no other family has to go through the same thing as us. Shame on you!

Ken Ismail

Not a good place. Unsanitary conditions for anyone with any infections. Doctors do not discuss treatment plans or medications provided to patients with patients. Make sure to ask to see documentation on medication provided to you. In my case I was allergic to it. Also ensure they replace your bandages operations daily. They will most likely try to push you towards the most expensive Ozperations they ca instead of caring about your health and comfort. If you are given a choice don't go.

Kim Meehan

My experience is recent a Friday Oct 20 ER. From the initial entrance, a fresh mask, greeted by the nurses, then booking, all done at a very early start of the day. I was then in ER with a bed a series of the staff getting me settled in a busy area of the hospital. The nurse name escapes me, resident doctor kept me informed and calm. I could hear busy activity Catering to patients a busy Friday. The porter a tiny gal we had a laugh just to make our day as she wheeled me to the GI part of the hospital. I had my procedure Doctor Chris Ma a success and all in part my family Doctor Soolsma a resident doctor as well. The rating to all is 11 out of 10. Let's respect and Thank the team's that make your experience at Foothills Medical Centre as they work so hard socially distance and patient care the only concern. Thank you to all the staff and everything you do. Kim

The Art Of Wanderlust

I can not thank everyone enough, I was there to have a nerve sheath tumor removed. The surgeon was second to none as well as all the nurses. One of the cleanest hospitals I have ever been in, we are so fortunate to have a state of the art facility like this.

Victoria Williams

I am so disappointed with the protocol or management of this hospital. There is no empathy or sympathy to the family of the deceased. There is no consistency of your protocol . DO YOUR JOB BETTER!

Philip Sinclair

Waiting for 4 hours with chest pain and pneumonia. They do not care at all.

Chris Sanderson

Many of my Family were born in this hospital and have died here as well. I thank all the staff fir all they have done. I do wish the cancer treatments were more ethical and less about money.

Jonathan Collier

In the waiting room for 5 hours and no one is here worse hospital ever

Paris Paquette

Came in on a Saturday night...the wait in the waiting room was truly horrible. At one point the screen said it would be 6.5 hours before a patient could see a doctor. This is no fault of the staff, and they kept an eye on your vitals and updated you on your place in line. When I did get a bed, the nurses were amazing. Larissa in unit B went above and beyond, providing me excessive blankets and tucking me in. They were very communicative about the results of the tests, aside from the wait the care was wonderful.

i would not recommend the dental clinic in foothills to anyone. i was referred to this place by my family doctor in strathmore alberta so i would be able to take my wisdom teeth out through an actual surgery. we made an appointment and when we got there at our scheduled time, the dark haired lady at the desk told us the doctor went home because THEY thought our appointment was at a different time. they then began to tell us they called us multiple times to confirm our appointment but not once did we get any calls, nor any emails confirming the appointment. it was painfully frustrating because my mom had to take work off early and drive out an hour and a half for this consultation only for the dark haired lady to be so dismissive and rude about how upset we were. we agreed on another date a few weeks later and it was a week before our appointment where i got a call to confirm the appointment. the day comes of the appointment and my mom and i are just getting ready to go when the same dark haired lady calls me to tell me the doctor has to switch his days, even though my mom was just on the phone with her yesterday and we only heard of this a few hours til my appointment. clearly disappointed and upset my mom dealt with the lady only for her to not care, be dismissive, and quite frankly rude on the other end of the phone. all i can say is, this place is not reliable and that one lady made both of my experiences there just horrible. if she cant handle being nice and at least caring to upset and disappointed customers, maybe she should be looking at another job. not impressed.

ANA PINO

Thank you all unit 32 all the doctor nurse people who clean every one thank you for helping me to get recovered thank God in them I'm alive.

Tracy Hutchison

Very good place. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

In Feb and Sept I spent time as a patient in pandemic at the Foothills Hospital. For over 20 years before that I spent time there with my sister Karen as an outpatient, she was ravaged by crohns disease and died at 53 in 2018. My mother died the month before her both in the ICU. I have known more doctors, nurses and other patients than I can count. Now I have crohns at 61 and I have a team of health care professionals taking care of me and they are amazing. I have seen the stress of covid on their faces but never when face to face with me. They are supporting each other, lifting each other up, working in teams like never before. They are all brave and exceptional as I watch them work I have never had more respect for them. They have served my family through life and death, they are there for you when the worst strikes your family too. We all need to show them respect, care and kindness because that is what they give us when we mask up and go through those doors. Yesterday's protesters broke my heart and that is not easy to do.

Desi miss

The staff on Traige (maternity), Anti-partum, and Labour & Delivery are absolutely amazing. I had the best care from these professionals. Thank you so much. Keep it up ????

Melissa Johnson

I had day surgery here and I was scared and nervous at first but every single nurse, doctor, staff member and anesthesiologist I talked to was extremely nice and so accommodating to my wants and needs despite my surgery delayed 3 hours. I felt safe and well taken care of, I would be happy to return if I needed another surgery!

Tyler K

Thankyou to the nurses drs and ems for your care

Jessica Remanda

Filthy!!! I'm shocked as with these times cleaning should be a priority. The floors r filthy, no one is sanitizing anything after anyone comes in and leaves. There is no social distancing. No one is wearing gloves. Long wait times, even after being sent here by a dr.

odizzido

I just want to say thank you to everyone there for saving my life. I am so grateful. To those who complain about the long wait times, maybe you should try voting in a government that doesn't cut medical funding so much. It's like you're hitting yourself in the head with a rock and complaining it hurts, but then keep doing it. Who's fault is that?

Brad Randall

Parking is a little bizarre but place appeared clean and well organized.

Royce Souther

The staff are dangerously uncoordinated, some of them are rude and boligerent. For such a new building it is very rundown and unclean.

Khadija Habibi

Worst experience ever. 5:45 min wait time without knowing from what i m suffering, no communication no doctors even that i have a letter from the walk-in clinic doctor saying that it s urgent and i can die. I had a lot of pain, crying and having a background of depression no one cared. i went to see the nurse guess what she said people wait for 6 hours and more, i said i don’t mind waiting but just communicate with us tell is what next, she didn’t care at all and she said ok if you want to go just sign this paper (no emotion, no consolation nothing…). Paying a lot of taxes to have such a service shame on you Calgary.

Melissa Pasamonte

I would like to thank the NICU team for doing such an amazing job. I had my baby born at 29 weeks, 11 weeks early but this team helped us to cope up and gave the best of help they can. They have the best doctors and nurses. Nurses are very caring and very reliable. Special thanks to Dr. Albrecht for delivering my baby and Dr. Liza Espinoza for watching over my baby’s condtion and for making everything clear to us. All the best to the team and stay safe❤️.

Daniel Shin

Unit 51 & 52. Had a fantastic experience with all staffs. Thank you for all your help and support for our 1st baby. Especially Kathy and Meghan who stayed with us all night long in the labour/delivery in Unit 51. Only some complains I would say, Unit 52 postpartum facilities were like 1980s. Too old and no convenient accommodation for the support person.

Newly installed kidney Friday Nov 26 1230am. 10/10 would do again. Surgeon was Dr Yilmaz. Incredible. Transplant followup up doc was Dr Tibbles. Wonderfully cautiously optimistic. First, we are seniors. Our experience was always great, both for my wife and me. Although our experiences were a few years back, they were in all areas, including nurses, Dr.'s, admitting and general support staff. I hesitate to identify names as some might be missed. But heart and knee surgery areas were where our experiences are positive memories ????. I was a very small part of Foothills Hospital initial construction in early 1960's. It was a DPW design and included some gutsy design features such as 100% outdoor air ventilation with high efficiency electrostatic air filtration. Secondary higher efficiency filters were used in ICU, prenatal and other critical areas. Each patient recovery room was, ventilation wise, isolated from all other areas. Great memories.

Caterina Pollio

I delivered both my kids there and I loved my nurses, Amanda and Danielle , during my labours. They made me feels so comfortable, as comfortable as someone can feel during labour. The support staff was amazing and Dr. Jensen was wonderful. I felt lucky to have such a good experience.

Matthias Tunmise Adigun

They have high end medical equipments at this hospital and experienced hands

If you need urgent care DO NOT go to the Foothills Hospital! They are useless here and you are better off diagnosing yourself on Google. Seriously! I went to the Foothills Hospital after two weeks of excruciating lower back pain on the left that radiated to my side and wrapped around my stomach. I was given the run around with my family doctor, she sent me to the after hours clinic twice as her office was too booked up to see me. They gave me codeine the first time which didn't even touch the pain and second time they gave me something stronger and told me to go to emergency to have a CT scan done as it might be kidney stones. I went into Emergency on Nov 5th and had a urine test and bloodwork done (for the third time) and everything was clear. The doctor told me to go home. I said "aren't you going to do an ultrasound" it was like I was inconviencing him for doing his job. He reluctantly said yes. Everything was clear with the ultrasound. Again, he told me to go home and continue taking the pain medication and gave me no answers. Thanks for your help, NOT! I called 811 today and it was the first time I finally felt like someone was acknowledging the pain I was in. The nurse told me to keep pushing to have tests done to find out what's going on because you can't be on pain killers forever.

Terry Elias

I think the doctor's, nurse's, and support staff are second to none. They were friendly, helpful, and overall good professionals. I feel that if you treat them with respect they will do the same. I just can't say enough good things about the men and women that took care of me. You are the best and keep up the great work. Be proud.

Imelda Ruando

To Dr. Salazar (Surgeon), Dr. Julian Zulvaga, Dr. Taylor and to Dr. Kamar and all the nurses in Unit 37 and Kidney Dept of North Tower, dietitian, pharmacies and all who took care of my husband and my daughter during the kidney transplant, me and my family cannot thank you enough for your thoughtfulness, dedication and being compassionate. You guys rock!.

Ruth Okafor

Worst experience ever. I had a really bad burn while cooking. I had to go in with the kids (drove with one hand - left hand) and was in severe pain. I arrived around 11:35pm. The nurse just put a bandage around my wrist, asked if I had a pain killer at home and when I said no, she responded 'well it's something you should always have at home'. Nothing was offered to ease the pain and I was told that it is going to be a pretty long wait since I am stable (not dieing) and according to her, priority is given to people with traumatic situations or people that have a part of their body cut off. I asked if I should just go home and sort myself out then and she responded that she is not giving any advise as she does not want to lose her job. I waited till morning with my two little kids sleeping on the chairs that they were sitting - till 4:34am - no support , no care, no check to see if we are okay or need anything (not even a drink of water). When the nurse finally showed up, she mentioned that it will still take a few hours to see a doctor and she thinks that no plastic will be needed. I just had to go home and worked around taking care of myself - not even an ointment applied/offered. This is the worst experience ever and I never wish to visit this place again in my life.

Kathryn Knutson

Staff friendly and helpful. Clean invierment.

Cave Lord

Ive been here many times, twice from an ambulance, and have only been seen once. Their time to be seen clock seems to only be a wildly innacurate suggestion. I had lost conciousness and had to wait 10 hours when their clock said 6 hours. If you are seen, the treatment is world class, but goodluck getting seen.

Shyla Khalil

All the nurses and doctors were amazing!!!! Thank you so much foothills hospital for delivering my beautiful healthy baby boy and taking care of us while in your care.

Mario Syed

My grandma had a stroke and was hospitalized here. She was here for about 4 days. We've been coming here everyday to see her and be with her, in turns of course (2 at a time). The day she passed, my family (of 6) and I went to see her and we were not allowed to do so, which is understandable. But the staff outside in the main building was extremely impatient and rude with us while we were trying to arrange the order in which the pairs would go see her. They kept interrupting and asking us to wait outside. We waited out in the vestibule because it was -11° (-16°) till our car came and they kept signalling us to leave like we didn't already know. All the while within the very generous 2 minutes that we were given. And as we proceeded to leave due to this disrespectful behavior to wait outside, the staff member came to kick us out from the vestibule too. I understand they have a duty and we have been complying this whole time when we came to visit her when she was ill. What I don't understand is why they couldn't let the grieving family members a few minutes to figure out where they would wait out in the cold. We've had a pleasant experience from Foothills Hospital thus far but this is unacceptable and unkind. I believe you can do better in the future.

Alison Lewis

I was a patient of Foothills hospital this past few days! I had surgery on my ankle. I was in unit 41. I would just love to share my gratitude and appreciation to all those amazing nurses who cared for me. I have never felt so welcomed, and the kindness they showed me was truly a blessing. These woman were amazing. They really have a live for their job. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made my stay wonderful. Sincerely Alison Lewis

Ken Jewer

Had a heart attack and I ended up here, it is filthy and everything is in clean, the toilets were always covered in urine, a poor older man in the same room as me wanted a shower for about 3 days, but they refused to allow him to do so, due to the showers haven’t been cleaned since the last person 3DAYS and not a single cleaner can clean a bathroom? Or a urine soaked floor? There is a lot of staff on but you will only see them when it’s pill/check time, other than that good luck, another older woman about 90 in our room (it was a 4 person room) was requesting a glass of water since 3 am and recieved it at about 630 am after calling so many times, we can see and hear a lot of the nurses sitting and laughing at their phones, no like they were swamped by any means. DO BETTER YOURE HEALTHCARE FOR GOD SAKE

Julie Rach

I am not happy with the care my mom has been receiving .Terrible care on unit 91. She was given her pills just kinda thrown on dirty table not in a container. No water to take pills with. Nighty full of blood and not changed. Changed bedding for 3 patients and not hers. No assistance to washroom. We called in morning and she was to go for xray. Nurse told my aunt when she has time she will take her. But when I left after 4 she still had no xray. Stuck in a hard , uncomfortable chair all day. Sink taps dont work. My aunt asked for assistance to help her to bed after sitting in that chair for 6 hours. The nurse just stood there looking not helping. She was transferred during lunch so no lunch and starving. My aunt called at 5 and she had yet to receive supper. the food is good. She would have better care at home. Dont think they would even notice if she left for a couple hours. My aunt and I have not slept since she has been transferred to unit 91. The system really needs to step up. They are understaffed and unable to actually do there jobs and i beleive the patients are suffering well deserved care.

Mey K

I'm rewriting this review because I accidentally deleted my previous one. Basically, our first experience wasn't so great. My mom was sent for a CT scan for her abdomen but ended up getting a scan for her chest, abdomen, and pelvis. That was a lot more radiation exposure given than necessary. I don't know if these are common symptoms but also the color of her skin got darker after the CT scan and during the scan, she felt a very hot sensation. Our second experience with them was absolutely awesome. I have no complaints. My dad got his emergency surgery within 48 hours (so rather quickly). The surgery went very well. Of course, his leg doesn't feel like it used to but you can only go so far with treatment after an accident that big. According to him, the nurses were very kind and friendly. His only complaint was that the bed wasn't comfortable.

natasha alex

Absolute worst hospital I've ever been to in my life. I was kept there for over 5 hours. Pregnant. With no one coming in to check on me, no one offered to get me water and when asked for water it never came. I was left sitting there crying with no one to even ask id i was ok. ABSOLUTELY horrible. Wait times are nothing if staff are careless. Take the time and go to ANY other hospital.

Sophia gill

My grandfather hasn’t been receiving proper care here. First he was sent to the emergency by his family doctor, and was sent back the coming day, receiving little medical attention. Doctors said he would be fine in a week. Soon after he could barely talk and was rushed to the emergency again as his condition had gotten worse. He still wasn’t getting better and nor was getting proper medical attention, eventually we had to get transferred him to a different hospital.

natasha smith

Go here with my husband as he had third degree burns and my son was with me so I already new because of covid that I 2as not able to go with him. So I said to the lady I just had to use the washroom and we would wait in our car she told me flat out NO and told me I could walk to Tim Hortons and use there washroom. GO KICK ROCKS YOU CRANKY OLD *****

I gave birth to my son at foothills in June of this year. All of the doctors and nurses I had while in labour and delivery (Unit 51) were absolutely amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better team! When I transferred to maternity/postpartum (unit 52) I was very disappointed. Not one nurse bothered to read my chart, which really bothered me because there were a couple of important things that had been flagged. They were not very attentive, a couple of them even seemed annoyed when I called them for help, And none of them gave me the respect of privacy. I understand that I just had a baby, and things need to be checked, but it is never okay to start touching someone’s body parts without warning, and permission. If they had read my chart, they would know why permission is something very important to me. This is something that made me feel really uncomfortable and ultimately caused me to have a very difficult time emotionally during my time on that unit (4days total)

Just over two years ago I came to the ER with extreme abdominal pain. I was completely written off and embarrassed by the ER doctor who saw me (he also had a medical student shadowing him at the time). I was told I either had an STD or was pregnant and when both of those were negative I was told I just had menstrual pain and sent on my way. Today, I am a 21 year old recovering from a major surgery removing half of my reproductive system because of an extreme case of endometriosis and other issues caused by it. If this Doctor hadn't of written me off two years ago I would still have a full reproductive system and would have been saved from two years of intense physical and mental pain. While I don't remember the doctors name, I will never forget the way it felt to be treated so poorly and the way I was gaslit into thinking my pain wasn't real and valid.

Just wanted to thank all the nurses and doctors. They were just the most awesome and helpful to me. I give you guys 5 stars.

Renee lainchbury

I was just recently there today to drop off some doughnuts and flowers to all the nurses in ICU Unit. I just wanted to Thank all of them for all their hard work. I admire them and appreciate all of them. I know myself how it feels to put long hours in. It is Not easy putting 16hrs in. I have done it twice and it takes a few days to fully recover and feel like yourself again! I stopped in the gift store, what an Awesome gift shop. Lots of neat unique things.Staff very helpful and friendly ???? Great place to buy unique gifts for Christmas ????????????

I Am getting IVIG at day medicine foothills Calgary . Staff is Amazing here from the front desk to RN everyone is so polite and always willing to help . They go above and beyond to make patience feel comfortable. Thank you Everyone for doing what you do !! Your Team Rock!!

Mz Thang

We cannot thank Foothills Emergency staff enough for the quick care and attention to my husband’s injuries; when he was transferred to Unit 44, I always had a direct line to the front desk to schedule daily visits and answer questions about his care. It is so stressful and the staff are clearly stretched thin with regular care (compounded with COVID), and the turnaround we experienced was greatly appreciated.

I am a BC resident and had a mishap with a horse out in the back country in Alberta at the beginning of July. My injuries took me to the Trauma Unit at Foothills, where I received excellent medical care. I am thankful for all the staff and was impressed at how all the teams work together - from ER, X-Ray, Medical Imaging, Trauma Unit, Orthopedic & Physio Teams. All of the nurses on my ward during my 5 day stay were amazing! And special thanks to Dr Prism Schneider and her surgical team for repairing my left ankle.

My many thanks to Foothills ER and Cardiac unit nurses and doctors for treating me for breathing issues that followed my heart surgery. Excellent facility and great people.

Older structurally, but fantastic hospital with many services.

We were lied to (so much for informed consent and their hippocratic oath) and the administered medical procedure put my son in danger when his heart rate plummeted to 30% of his normal rate. Then to make matters worse, and older and aggressive nurse was very pushing and threatening with claimed necessary treatments. The more I asked questions the angrier and threatening she became. NEVER AGAIN.

This is a scary hospital and the worst I have ever encountered in Canada in terms of professionalism, compassion, communication, and diagnostics. Nurses fail to communicate with one another so hospital staff don’t know what is going on with patients. Mandate seems to emphasize discharge and disregard for evidence rather than health care. My 16 year old is on psych ward and has been mentally abused by family counsellor who is telling my son mistruths including family doesn’t want him to leave hospital, and he is being kicked out of hospital as a forced discharge and needs to find friends to pick him up (I was advised son was going into another program and was not being discharged). Family counsellor called me a lier because she refused to check hospital notes, and then after realizing mistake claimed she simply does not like me as a person so can treat me like this and not apologize. Patient Relations states that hospital has a huge problem in how families of patients are treated and advised I take legal action against hospital. Program Manager expresses complete lack of concern for the gong show of misconduct within the hospital nurses and staff. #Unit 23

DO NOT GO HERE FOR MENTAL HEALTH!! I had been kicked out of my house from my abusive crazy mother and wondered around Calgary all day try to end it then I remember seton hospital recommended foothills so I went there for help and the nurses were very nice and when I asked them not to call my mother( I’m 16 which is old enough to not call if it fall under certain guidelines, which it did my mother is abusive and kicked me out) the nurses and the police officers I spoke to kindly respected that then the psychiatrist who is a “professional” in mental health went and called my mother about MY mental health and ask her about it first. She should have spoken to me first(the patient) about MY mental health but she didn’t and I had asked them to make my chart private so my mother couldn’t find it and the psychiatrist still called her. THIS PLACES MENTAL HEALTH PROGAM IS A JOKE AND SO IS THE PSYCHIATRIST.

well, I kind of relate to the other post that suggests "don't come here unless you're dead" If you're not bleeding profusely, I'm not sure if they want to help you. Get pictures of the nurses and any medical staff and record conversations with your iphone. You will not regret it when the [inevitable] time comes for you to file a complaint. Don't let them talk you into leaving if you *know* something is majorly life-altering and wrong with your body, which was my situation. I've never recovered from my life-altering injury, which left me 100% disabled and I will never be able to work and support myself ever again. If I had received medical care in a timely manor, I can't help but think that I could've recovered.

You might as well drive to a different city to get checked out. My pregnant wife waited over 9 hours to get blood work and ultra sound done, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I guess they gotta make money on parking fees $13 For three hours. Way to go AHS. Cut their pay

Never come here, I came with an ambulance and I see people come after me and get accepted before me.

The care itself was okay...I suffered complications after a major surgery and they kept me for only one night even though I felt too weak to walk and get up on my own. I had nobody at home to help me and I could barely walk by myself, it would take me 5 mins to get from a laying to standing position, and they still discharged me with a resting HR of 120 to 130bpm. I think they were short of beds and wanting to get it ready for someone else. I ended up back in the hospital the next day, thankfully i was transported to a different hospital where they ran a full range of tests and seemed to take my health much more seriously

My mother is currently staying here after having a sudden sensory stroke. She's been texting me since her arrival 6 hours ago saying she's being ignored and hasn't been allowed to eat or drink once. We have both had many bad experiences in Canada's healthcare system, and at this point I feel that something is gravely wrong. Not just with this site, but with most (if not all) of them... with constant neglect and lack of empathy.
