Love the Childrens!!! wouldnt go anywhere else for care!!!!

Gary Sweitzer

Been through the old and new location with my kids and now my grandson. The care is top notch and when you need solutions and answers, this is the place to go. Extremely busy tonight, as to be expected. There is a wait time depending on the emergency, but the facility and diagnostics are always top notch.

Came here with my 5 year old, who needed a cast. While he was getting a cast, I was told that me and my own her son could not use the washroom? And we'd be required to go to the "save on foods" and use theirs. And that this is hospital policy. Are you kidding me?

Kieran Wood (Descent)

I myself was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at this hospital and I can say that without a doubt the endocrine department staff are excellent. The only complaint I have is the restrictive scheduling for appointments as it's not that big of a concern in the younger years but, in high school you can't be taking 3,4 days off a semester. However the staff are very polite and helpful, and had plenty of good information throughout my diagnosis. As a person who has actually been here as a patient I can say that in my experience it is a great hospital.

Do Not Take Your Children To This Dentistry Department; dishonest shocking behaviour..! Recently moved to the neighbourhood and commute past the hospital every week day around 615-645am and its absurd; not a single staff vehicle stops at the stop sign (barely signal) nor do they bother stopping at the red light before the turn into the staff lots! The speed limit is 30-40km and they go 50-60km right past the front of the “Children’s Hospital” they work in... I watch them run the light and have had them speed up to cut me off to get that single car length ahead far to many times.. Hopefully a camera gets set up; clearly your education didn’t involve common sense and your paid to much to have common curtesy for basic driving laws :( Arrogance at its finest..!

Cole Marcellus-Schlese

Amazing nurses I had a burst appendix and I had to recover for 9 days and I was treated amazingly I love the people.

Chelsey Martinez

Thanks to all the stuff for helping my son

Jeremy Cheng

We have been incredibly thankful and impressed with the care we have recieved at the Children's Hospital.

Natalie Wood-Cordelle

We came here recently with our 6 month old daughter and we’re pleasantly surprised by the care and compassion from the nurses and doctors compared to our previous visit to an urgent care centre. The wait wasn’t too terribly long; two hours approximately and that was after the nurse said there were 20 kids ahead of us. We live in the Deep South so driving here was a bit of a journey but we will come again if we need to.

I went to this hospital for at least seven years. I went from someone who seized at least 12 times a day to not having a seizure to this day(over two years). I could not have made it through this without such not just well trained and educated doctors but the investment the doctors and nurses out into your wellness. We chose to get surgery in Calgary over anywhere else, including Boston. I had the best of the best and that is what this children's hospital is filled with. If you need anything get to these people! I got help very quickly and through the ups and downs I was assisted with these miracles!! Thank you! I hope everyone can be grateful for what they put in for others lives!!

S Varey

Typical hospital. It is probably great for surgeries and the like, but emerg is no different and no better then anywhere else. Expect really long wait times.

Sunny Hu

We are so appreciated the work the hospital has done to my daughter. It is a very nice place for the kids.

Dr.Tateeana Hasan

Right now there very good checked faster then before !!

I have had some great and some awful experiences at ACH. First off, the parking fee is horrendous and the government should be ashamed of themselves. Waiting time estimations are WAY OFF for emergency. We came in today with a 48 minute estimated wait and we were there for four hours and seen by a Dr. for 30mins of it. I understand this is a teaching medical facility but sometimes the lack of experience and wisdom that some of the residents have is just too much. My son has had IBD for over 2 years now with the past month being one of his worst with drastic weight loss and chronic diarrhea and chronic vomiting along with swollen lymph nodes and painful stomach area. My son mentioned to this intern that his mental state was a little off and the rest of the appointment turned into a psych analysis by a resident who probably took one course of psychology throughout his entire medical degree! When a 15 year old teenager's life is being disrupted by physical issues beyond his control, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out his mental state might be a bit broken. Just so you know we threw away the garbage literature you passed on to him. The doctor that was in charge of this clown should have been able to deduce, by the majority of chronic symptoms, that having some mental challenges was not the diagnosis but a byproduct. Give your head's a shake. **UPDATE** If they had only done some blood work and listened to me and the complaints of my son they could have found a swollen spleen (his non stop pain on left side oand back he told intern about) a positive case of MONO.

Tibor Szekely

Beautiful hospital. Very friendly caring staff. Good experience during stressful times.

Laine Kahsay

At the emergency, wait time is unbearable, sick kids, tired parents....

Asif

(never used the emergency room, following review doesn't apply to the emergency department) Alberta Children's Hospital is the best for what you need for your kids most - "Best possible Care". Their culture of treating your baby as a baby not just another patient is visible at any department you go to. Hospitality is well located, bus stops nearby, a bit expensive parking, all facilities have the accessibility option. All areas are extremely neat & clean. The best NICU (staff, accommodation, Doctors) I have seen or heard of. Only one bad thing -downstairs cafe Mountainview is very expensive on top of the bad taste of the food. Compared to the other children's hospitals in North America, ACH is not too far off.

Last night we went in at 10:00pm and weren't treated until 3:00am. My little sister was bitten by a dog and was constantly bleeding through the bandages until she was finally attended to. Then, it took the doctor three hours to clean the wound and administer stitches. They made us wait until the pharmacy opened at 7:00am so they could get her the necessary shot. The waiting room was packed with miserable parents and crying babies. These parents deserve better. How do you staff only one single doctor on a Sunday night, and not give that doctor access to the medical treatments that he needs for his patients?

Petra Sedlmajerova

Very helpful staff, we had a great experience with my son's procedure.

Bianca blue

This does not look like a scary place to mean. This hospital has been almost like a second home. Especially some of the nurses the male nurses are like my second father's to me. Everyone their is like my second family. That's why I'm no longer afraid of hospitals. The doctors are just truly a blessing.

Breanne Imeson

I cannot day enough good things about our time here. My 8 week old spiked a high fever and all of the staff, from nurses, specialists, the ER doctors, right up to the caretaking staff on our unit, were so understanding, empathetic and caring. When they say they have a family focused practice at this hospital, they are not joking. Even during Covid, they ensured that one of us could be with our baby. Can’t say enough about our nurses - especially our first nurse, Jenna on Unit 2. She put my mind right at ease.

Tera Mitchell

It is great to see all of the employees working so hard to keep Covid out of their hospital. As always, the doctors and nurses were amazing.

mihai zorilo

I'd give them zero stars if I could..(Emergency Department). Untrainted, unqualified staff. Zero common sense.. My baby brother was treated as a "thing". They don't communicate properly, don't treat each case as individual... Horrible experience.(I have no idea what are these doctors and nurses studying for!)

Tiffany Geyer

I have been dealing with my daughter's mental health for the past 4 plus years she is 10 . I have tried many different types of help I have worked with the compass program, hull services access mental health and I have seen two pediatricians . With all that said I have yet to get a proper assessment for my daughter so I was told to go to the Children's though emergency and told that the is a team that deals with mental health and that it probably be the best way for my daughter to get a proper assessment . We ended up waiting from 130 to 930 to be seen and in the end I left with nothing another Referral and the doctor on told me I should start from Square one I did not even get to see anyone that deals with mental health as a mother with a child with mental health issues it sad to see your child leave with no help or hope. When is a child's mental health taken seriously at what point do they get the help they need sad part is it probably when it to late

Lana Davis

All the staff were so good to us. Our 6 year old daughter needed emergency surgery for broken bones, and we could not have gone to a better place! I am so grateful for the quick care for our little person, as well as for a room to sleep in while us parents took turns at her bedside.

edubs njon

This place is awful. You go to the emergency and spend over 6 hours waiting with a sick child. Only for the doctor to tell you to go home and give your child Tylenol. They won't even consider doing any tests. It is such a waste of tax payers money. Kids are too young to wait that long and they barely even try to treat them.

Cesar Londono

This is probably one of the worst emergencie service that I have seen in my life. My son have had fever and vomit for over 12 hours and the over the counter medicines didn't work. Then I brought him to Children's hospital to see what's going on. I've been waiting for 4 hours with my son and and the fever and vomit still there and nobody has come out to call us. OK, maybe is nothing serious but at least check him out and let us know. If it's something more serious we are waisting time. Please, if you are considering bring your kid to the children's hospital be sure that he/she is not very sick to wait for over 3 hours or bring him/her in an ambulance. Maybe that could speed up the process. Ahhh, one more thing. It's better if you park at the market mall and bring your kid walking. Unless you wait in the emergency parking lot for an hour to see if somebody leaves and you can get the spot.

Even when it’s fairly empty, it takes 4 hours for a baby with a fever to get treated. And they just tell you give the baby Tylenol. You just wast time waiting in different rooms for Several hrs. It’s like a sus google answer is just as effective as solving your problem.

The Pamela Vang

Our baby had a fever. It was my first baby fever. She was in so much pain. I don't like their methods collecting specimen from babies but I also understand how else can you do it? She was fine. I'm glad they were there to help support.

John

This places is great lots of TLC for the kids, and parents. But like all emergency rooms over crowded with non emergency cases.

Michelle Perry

Great doctors and a very clean hospital.

Lisa Gina Cole

I had such great experiences at this hospital! I have had to go a couple times for different reasons with different children and have always encountered helpful, friendly staff, nurses and doctors. Parking is easy and not too expensive. They take the time to explain the situation and at every step make sure that the child is comfortable and understands the procedure. Makes a stressful situation so much more manageable.

Kerry Girling

I was astounded to see anything but five stars for this establishment. Most cities don’t even have a children’s hospital. The staff cater to their patients respectfully and promptly. It’s always nice knowing that we can take our children here and be respectfully looked after. A hospital is a daunting experience even for an adult. Having a hospital that focusses specifically on children is enlightening because it takes the sickly mentality away from a hospital environment. When you’re at the Calgary Children’s Hospital you feel like you’re at home. The decor and pleasant environment makes you feel like you’re at the best bed-and-breakfast, and the staff are trained to understand kids because most doctors don’t. Five stars, if there had been six I would’ve.

Stacey Clarke

I have been waiting for almost 6 hours to see a doc for my suicidal teen. Clearly mental health is not an emergency here. Update: spent 9 hours waiting to see someone and left with 1 pamphlet and discharge papers... so no care for Children’s mental health here.

Luke Fugazi

When I finally got to see the doctor she was pretty good. However many other things can be improved prior to that point; & after. The reasonably priced parking is on the far north side of the hospital. This could be OK but you cannot actually access the hospital on that side unless you're staff. So after discovering this you and your sick child/children have to walk all the way around the Helly Pad & ambulance bays before being able to get into your first entry point; Emergency. But you can't directly access the rest of the hospital through emergency; very poor access all around. Terrible access design; especially in a climate that has winter. Once you've check in instead if leaving you in the waiting room as long as possible so your kid(s) have things to play with they put you in the patient waiting room way way too soon. Then instead of trying to help you out with your unnecessarily long (over an hour) wait, the nurse may instead decide to take away the stool your child keeping himself busy with because it presents some sort of epic danger (somehow hospital stools are more dangerous than any others one could encounter). The doctor was great, but when the nurse came in to administer the medication, instead of talking to our kid like a human and just telling him there was some medicine he needed to take she instead thought it was necessary to trick him with a popsicle and then try to inject the medicine into his mouth while he was going for the popsicle. This resulted in getting probably a quarter of it on his shirt (hopefully 75% of the required dose will do the job). I'm not sure if she normally works at a veterinarian clinic as it seems like more of an applicable practice there, but this was the go to method today? The end result of my experience is that I'll never go to the Children's Hospital emergency again with my kid unless i'm accompanying them in an ambulance, or a walk-in clinic specifically sends me there.

Tricia Leger

The staff are amazing, very friendly and knowledgeable. They made my daughter feel so comfortable and were very patient with all my questions.

I can't finish Thanking the Doctors and Nurses at this hospital. The level of professionalism and dedication to their work and love for children is so amazing. I can say I'm so lucky and happy to be in Calgary. Please calgarians let's all keep on donating the little we have to support Alberta children hospital. Our small donations never go waste.

My newborn was recently admitted, they failed to diagnose him with a tounge tie, which led to him being malnutritioned, we recently saw a nurse at a vaccination clinic and thats when he was diagnosed after a week in the hospital, it took the nurse 10 minutes to find the problem and the hospital couldnt do it in a week, very dissapinted and stressed out i wish someone could be held responsible. People who work here are nice but i wish they knew what they were doing more, there were tests that were done on him that could have been avoided.

Alex Xavier

We spent 150 days in ICU and the staff were great! Thank you ACU staff!

Tahir Uzgur

It was the best experience in my life. I thought that i was in trouble, but how the doctors, staff e.t.c where really nice. I enjoyed it a lot. And big thanks to Dr. Wrobel Iwona and actually she found out my disease, and that's why i'm so proud of them. And without them i was gonna have a lot of pain right now, i would probably wiggle like a worm in my bed because i had so much ackes in my intestines. THANK YOU.

We came here with our 5 months old daughter and our daughter was here for two days under observation. The nurse was caring for her name “Caity” she is the nice nurse and she help when I needed it cuz I was here by myself with my baby.

The unfortunate thing about reviews about a children's hospital is that the majority of displeased reviews come from parents of typical children with minor issues. Whatever they came from might have landed them an overnight stay, maybe a few days but all in all it was a little inconvenient blip in their child's life. So they talk about the wait times, that the hospital appeared empty and that their issues were not the priority. Here's the thing most low reviewers, I hope you are always so lucky to have the time to nit-pick on the doctor's, nurses, RTs, therapists, anesthesiologists and the rest of the staff that are daily saving lives and also desperately trying to save lives that are beyond their control. Because you are lucky, blessed and unaware of the hundreds of parents who are watching their children suffer day after week after year with a medical issue that cannot be solved in one trip to emerg. Sure the parking sucks. And sure sometimes emerg waits are long. But that's because they are dealing with a perforated bowel, a failed kidney or a septic child; NOT because they are back there drinking tea enjoying the cries of children in pain in the waiting room. The incredible staff at ACH saved my child's life multiple times, so thank you. 5 stars.

Daniel Barragán

This hospital provides outstanding service to the city

Roya Noori

Very careless and long long wait time.

Mr. Renante Paulino

If it's not emergency don't dare coming to this hospital, before we get into the triage we waited for an hour and another three hours before we call in inside and then waited again for another hour and half before the doctor checked the patient. They call it emergency hospital but you will die waiting.

Michael Timofeyev

Avoid their emergency room. Take your child to a different hospital. You may have better luck. (sadly word luck still applies when it comes to getting good service at AHS) It took 4 visits to the ER for these "doctors" to figure out that my son needed circumcision due to acute pain while peeing. He was in agony for more than a week yet the heartless so-called doctors kept recommending baths, antibiotics, etc without even conducting any proper testing. During our third visit the doctor agreed to refer to urologist which he said would probably be in a couple of weeks time. That SOB should have spent one night with my kid. I bet none of them would treat their own kids that way. There wasn't a hint of trying to understand our situation. They must have a check list they go by and nothing deviates from it. Some nurses were nice and sympathetic. Some were just... well... I can't find the right adjective. After our 4th visit they finally gave us an appointment with urologist with an understanding that the urologist would do circumcision. They said they have consulted a urologist on call. Except that when we arrived to urology they didn't even have an appointment for a consult, no prior consultation was done (so flat out lied to us), and of course no surgery was scheduled. The receptionist looked at us like deer at headlight repeating what must be AHS's mantra - "Well, I don't know what they told you in ER". It took a lot of heartache to get to see the doctor and she indeed put us on a list for surgery the same day. From that point, once out of the ER and past AHS administrative nightmare things were good. Surgery ward nurses and doctors were good and professional. I don't know about other departments but man, ER is just brutal. Third world country. Really apathetic without any desire to try understand and help at best. Based on some things I've read from others - simply criminal.

We had to spend a coupleof nights with our just-born baby in the respiratory clinic. Doctors and Registered Nurses are a dedicated and passionate bunch here. Very helpful staff. My wife and I sleep-deprived, tired, and unable to pay attention. Nurses were very understanding of our situation and served us without judgement. God bless these people!

Mo GaMeR

They take for ever to check on people in emergency we wait 4 hours for them to check on my little sis and they heard how she was crying so much

Samantha Treadgold

Kept losing my daughters pacifiers while I was there and they kept replacing them. The doctors and nurses were amazing too

In this Difficult Time this was a place of Light for Us. Thank the Tesm of children's hospital Calgary. May God favour and protection each one of you.

We have a 3 week old baby secreting fluid from her eye and with a red belly button, both could be a sign of infection, we were considering waiting around until the next day to take her in to a clinic; but because of her young age we decided to go to the hospital. Checked online the time wait indicated about 3 hours, it was a little steep, but when we consider it to be a serious situation developing and it was worth the wait. When we showed up at the hospital we were terrified to see how many kids were there the majority of them running with a viral infection flu/cold like symptoms (Parents please be cognizance that if your child has a flu or a cold the hospital won’t be able to do anything for you, know when to take your kids and went not to, because of an overflow of patients everyone waits longer times). In any case we showed up at about 10:30 the nurse at triage saw us immediately and said that because of my daughter’s young age she will be bumped up. There was just another relatively young child among us, we waited and waited at about 1:30am a group of people get called in, we were thinking great at least some progress to get inside emergency; while there the nurse came and took vital signs and the standard procedure. At about 2:30 am I asked the used when we will be able to see the doctor I was thinking she can be looked at and we can go home and rest, she told us that there was only one patient in front of us and that it shouldn’t be long. At about 4:45 she came in to tell us that it might be a good idea to take a snooze since two of the doctors were attending some trauma, and other one was coming, but it would go to a different trauma and that she wasn’t sure when we would see the doctor to sleep and they will wake us up when the doctor arrives. At this point in time we were just fed up, upset, tired, and more than anything so disappointed about the way the hospital is run, the management of it, and sure, yes I know there are times when it gets busy, but there is always a backup management plan, to ignore a 3 old week baby for about 7 hours is beyond my comprehension. At that point I really felt that the children’s hospital failed us that they dont have a backup management plan or the hospital emergency is really lacking resources to the point of this experience. I lived in Montgomery which is adjacent to the Children’s Hospital, I often walk my dog near the hospital and I always said, so great to have this hospital near my community thank goodness I haven’t needed it with my older daughter, but if I ever do need it I know this imposing colorful building is there to back up my family. I obviously feel so different about that colorful brick structure, because that is all for me now, just a colorful building, I will never take my kids there again, or at least I will try not to, I think I would have been better going to foothills hospital, or any of the nearby hospital for a better result.

This is the worst hospital.to.take your child.to it's super slow so even if poor. Baby is dying you'll just sit there and watch that happen. And some of the staff are terribly I'll mannered. Highly not recommended

Get tonsil surgery done last Thursday for my brother which seemed like it went great. 6 days later, he's coughing up a lot of blood. Midnight we get an ambulance to take him to the Alberta children's hospital. Staff if friendly but first they say the surgeon will be here at 7 am. 7 am comes around than they say noon. They need to get their stuff organized and find more surgeons instead of making kids and their families wait for 11 hours while doing nothing.

I had a unbelievably big cut from skating and my father took me to the children hospital. The Triage Nurse so kind and caring and the stitches were a tiny bit of a painful experience, but overall a great Hospital

I really love this place. They treat you so well and its so kid-friendly. I had a broken foot and this place made me feel so nice and helped me a lot. I am so glad a place like this exists! :)

I'm thankful for the childrens hospital and the amazing doctors and nurses my daughter had pneumonia and rsv virus and they took real good care if her were still in the hospital due to her fever coming back and her tummy hurts I know they will find the cause and do what they can to fix it

Ethan Hou

Meh. The waiting times are sO long but at least the doctors are good. However, there was this one time where they were supposed to call me at a certain time so they could confirm that I would be getting an ultrasound. They ended up calling almost 30 late and I nearly missed my class.

Sarah Reid

It seems odd to want to review a hospital but I need to extend my gratitude. My 8 year old daughter broke her arm in two places. I thought for sure we would be up late into the night waiting. Just the usual hospital stuff. I prepared us to be gone for the evening. My daughter arrived there at 4:30pm via ambulance as I called because we do have a genetic bone disorder so things need to be well documented. The paramedics were exceptional and that moved right into exceptional care in the hospital. My daughter had x rays, a reduction, casting and another x ray and we were out with in 2.5 hours. Nurses, doctor, ortho...all amazing an informative. A special shout out to Kelly, who made it all a little more doable by making my daughter a multi color cast. I always try to support this hospital when I can. Yesterday just further proving this to be an amazing facility. Calgary Alberta is lucky to have this care. Thank you again, Alberta Childrens.

Outstanding, world class health facility.

Waseem K

one of the best hospitals for Children in Alberta. The doctors, the ER staff, the nurses are all great. For real emergency cases, they won't take a chance for kids and they take the extra step to ensure they are really treated well.

DeWet Louw

3 doctors looked at my child, diagnosed her with foot & mouth disease. My wife was not happy with the diagnosis so went to another private Doctor for a second opinion. Turns out she had ear infection. How do you make that mis-diagnosis? Too many doctors here have the same solution every time I take my sick child to the hospital or clinics. Its either "there is nothing to worry about" or "its a viral infection, theres nothing we can do but wait it out". Surely this cannot be the answer to everything?

Zigga Poopstain Pixbee

Evening shift emergency room doctors lack experience and knowledge. Came in with an enormous and painful insect bite plus fever but doctor said "let's test for a UTI". Then proceeded to say that an insect bite followed by a fever could never be connected even if there are absolutely no other symptoms.

Faith Jose

Everytime we go for checkup, the boys remember going to their play area. Because of friendly and competent staff my kids has good experience in their clinics.

Ahmad Alizadeh

I am greatful to their doctors and nurses, but more than 5 hours of waiting time in emergency is very disappointing! There is something wrong!

Shahzad Anwer

Worst doctors, go to your nearest walk-in clinic and avoid this place at any cost! They’ll make you wait for 6 hours and doctors will send you back home and ask you to come back if its only life threatening condition! Good luck seeing your children in severe pain and make guesses what’s wrong with them cause ACH doctors will not give you any definite answer

Karin Langdon

Exceptional care and expertise. Beautiful, naturally lit facility that is child friendly and wonderfully designed. 24 hr care for emergencies including medical and mental health for children from birth to 19 yrs.

Mr Lorain

I see some valid reviews here but I mostly see self entitled parents who think their child's condition trumps everyone else's. Be glad your child has an illness that leaves you in the waiting room, because if your child was first in line that means they are probably dying. Put it in perspective!!!!! the long waits and staffing issues are not the fault of the administration, they are a result of provincial and federal politics. ACH does the best they can with what they are given to work with.

Great service

Kimberly Lamming

Such great and helpful staff. It does not feel like a hospital. The cafeteria has a wide variety of food and lots of gluten free options.

Went there and left 5 hours later with nothing.

Grateful, 100% grateful that this place exists, and the people who work for, work in, volunteer in, and keep it running. The cleaning staff make this place safe, the volunteers never let your children go forgotten in any of the dozens of programs they run. From bingo, to art classes and pet therapy, countless hours are donated to ensure your children have many things to look forward to when they are visiting. The nurses who work, what someday must feel like endless hours, are always on hand to help and make sure your child's care is a priority. The doctors, and surgeons in every department we have dealt with have been, in my opinion, world class. In the unfortunate event that you need these services, rest assured they are putting in all the possible resources to make sure that it is the best experience you can have. We are just to thankful that the sciences are advanced enough to save our children in a safe, clean, and well resourced environment.

Hassan Amin

Worst hospital to take your child to, worst service staff, absolutely jokers working. Pathetic service and waste of time coming here. At least, train your staff to answer questions and not give and make excuses after excuses. Should remain to Alberta’s most pathetic children’s hospital. Is lying something the management teaches staff? Correct me if I am wrong but when I’m told my child is next to be seen, how come the doctors goes into the next room? Thank you, but you guys really need some training. UPDATE : Your RN ARE NOT ON THE SAME PAGE. DOCTOR said the information she was given wasn’t the same as what she came Into the room and saw my daughter. Unbelievable, pathetic not something I would expect from a faculty like this. Ms. Kaanor, you do have incompetent staff working for you. Maybe take this as a wake up call, this is not good.

Tanashia Mailynn

The emergency triage nurse Natasha is rude and disrespectful. Doesn't listen to concerns cause "it's busy as you can see". No kidding, wouldn't of brought my toddler in if I wasn't concerned.

Went to visit someone and was impressed by the colourfull walls and architecture. There was even sculptures to look at coming into the large entry. The relitive whom i was visiting had acess to a huge gymnasium where staff was happy to play basketball with him and some other patients. I saw the most amazing tech when I was walking down the hallways and spoke with a neroscientist who was happy to explain some of the gadgets she was working with. Generally I found the nursing staff to be all smiles and very appropriate and caring when speaking/explaining things to the children. Obviously the facility is well funded and the layout is pretty ergonomic compared to other hospitals I have seen and one realy nice feature is the design and art ....I saw a wall with these huge amazing pictures made from thin coloured lego blocks and even a historical look down a hallway that had several of the Calgary stampede posters from years past. I realy liked the caffeteria for the ceiling high windows and great views of Canada Olympic Park. The elevators had large etched images of wild animals on the inside of the doors. There were mothers with strollers all over the place and lots of handicapped accessable washrooms of course. I was dropped off and picked up by a friend so didnt experience the parkade however she did mention that its very easy to miss the entrance to the hospital and when driving in she seemed a bit stressed and bewildered kinda like at the airport. Ovrall i enjoyed the experience.

Amazing Hospital, amazing staff (receptionists and nurses). Soo thankful for everything they do!

I’ve been here multiple times for mental health, and have been disappointed so many times. I don’t usually make reviews, but the way these health care workers treated me was absurd. I’ve gone in multiple times because I’d been self harming. They made me wait 10 hours to a day to be seen by a psychologist. There has also been a time when I had tried to attempt to commit suicide, and I had to wait around 2 days to get help. When I was finally able to see a psychologist, he told me that he didn’t think I was as risk enough to be admitted into the mental health unit. Okay… so you have my record and my previous attempts, and my active self harming and yet you don’t believe I need to be admitted? It really made me lose hope in all health care workers and the health care system. They made me feel like I wasn’t worth saving.

Personal experience the nurses were so amazing. Thanks.

My daughter has been going to the Alberta Children's Hospital since she was a month old. She was diagnosed with failure to thrive, (being born a premature baby)She ended up having seizures and back in the hospital. She has been seen by Neurologist. Weight management and the Dental team there. And every team that has worked with my daughter has been wonderful. We work as a team together so that she has the best care possible. I highly recommend and support the staff members here. They come in and take care of our children, us parents, to the best of their ability. Thanks You for all that you do, for the love you give to the patients who you care for and their families.

Lukas B

I booked an appointment with Dr Graham at 12:30, after half an hour they took us to the room and waiting for another half an hour! Then I saw the patient who came after us was inside the room! Seriously?

Christian Laroche

We've been to a few other Children's Hospital in a few other provinces and this one is heads and shoulders above the rest. Great staff, welcoming environment, appointments that actually means something (i.e. you actually get seen at the time you're getting there), etc. Kudos!

The waiting times were brutal when I went. And, be prepared for crying children and parents who could not care less for other patients with their loud talking. Emergency was okay, the nurses forgot I needed to eat and left my meal for hours, I had to inquire about what happened to it multiple times in my ward. This was after I was told I would be admitted. I went in at around 11 AM and finally got moved into a room at around 7-8 PM. Most of my time was spent in a room inside of emergency on a comfortable bed but no entertainment at all but my phone (which happened to die and nobody had a charger). Therefore, I'd say be prepared to wait the entire day and waste it in emergency, especially if they do not have a bed available as they did for me. The rooms are definitely up to quality, they are clean, modern, and comforting. The washrooms are very big and private (depends on ward) with a clean shower. Alongside that, the cafeteria is amazing as are the rest of the facilities in the hospital. It is all very bright, cheery, and colorful. The food (depending on which ward you are in) is definitely tasty and they offer a very wide variety of menu options (both in the cafeteria and in wards). The cafeteria also always has people in it and since it is very open you do not feel isolated at all. The nurses are absolutely amazing from my experience, they are very caring and understand how to talk to children and teenagers in a way to reassure them and keep them cheerful. They're interested in getting to know you and are all very social-able and lovely. In conclusion, if you can survive emerge a.k.a hell in every hospital (yes, there is not an exception for this hospital) you'll find your child's stay will be most pleasing and definitely easy for them.

Sami

Took my son for an emergency very early in the morning. We were helped in timely manner. No complaints ????

kim baozi

this hospital is great. i was in ER and stayed here for four days. some staff were nice. i am now 17 years old and i was 13-14 years old when i had to go here. i finally had the courage to post it here. i had a heart condition, so they treated me well except these girls. they looked young and one was wearing glasses and has black hair. i dont know if thats what she looks like now. lol. i had to get shots at my hands, to get some blood, they were having a trouble looking for veins but they keep putting the needle in anyway. look, i was clueless and i probably still am. it was bad, it was hurting and i was sobbing. they were suppose to comfort me but they were laughing. they were laughing while i was sobbing . they kept putting the needle in for three times. i hope these girls learned honestly it was a nightmare. i was suppose to trust the nurse but they ended up laughing at me.

Sailee Jadhav

Inexperienced doctors- My son was taken to emergency twice, two different times for very high fever. I had no option but to take him to the hospital as my family physician was not available on that very day. At both the instances doctors checked him and made us go through all the painful tests. It was very difficult on us and our baby. They sent us home saying it was merely a viral infection it will take its course and will go away by it self. I took my son to my family physician at the immiddiate next appointment and she diagnosed my son with ear infection and the second time with throat infection. She showed me the redness my son had in his ears and throat that no Dr should be able to miss it.

Ethan Larson

They saved my life.

TK YT

Great place. They did surgery on my fractured tibia, and did a amazing job. All the staff was AWESOME!

Daniel Iordache

Bad please for children no understanding of Dr and Nurses they have kept checking my 4 days old baby all 30 minutes. To show students how a tomy needs to feel.Stopped the light for the jouanders after 9 h just to see how baby reacts. They do experiments on children and all that in front of the parents saying that it’s for your own good. Dramatic experience . Disappointed in all the service. On the other hand they change the Federal with lot’s of services like MRI without any problem.be careful do not live your child alone.

Ashwine Goundar

Zero stars if possible waited for 3hrs just rushed my child out without doing any tests but covid .. like they grt points for that or something. I said she might need more test thwy say no and sent us home. Went to plc and they treated my baby right away. Terrible

Melinda Gross

Current construction makes getting in a bear, signage sucks, so plan extra time. The entire parkade is single lane one way, so also plan extra time in case someone holds everyone up to wait for a spot ????. Pay parking is pricey however that’s not the hospital’s fault. Once inside it’s clean, bright, and fantastically welcoming for kids. All the staff is amazing and great.

Dakota Leavitt

i've been here multiple times due to mental issues.most of them were emergencies to the point where i was harming myself badly. i had to wait for multiple hours. once even a day i had to wait. food sucks. i had a very intense anxiety attack and was able to harm myself with certain things in the room nobody helped even when i pushed the nurse call button. don't go here. it's horrible. also the staff treated me horribly

Dmitry Stukalo

We've been here 3 times, experience is 5+.

Derp Yang

waited 2 billion years in line

michael oko

Had to take my son to the emergency unit in the middle of the night. The staff were competent and very helpful but it was a very confusing process. Right from the door there was no one giving any sort of directions. The signs were pretty small and vague. The wait time was absolutely ridiculous and I saw many parents leave out of frustration. This is unacceptable for a hospital of this caliber and shows someone somewhere isn't doing their job.

Alan C

They saved my sister. Can't thank them enough. The facility is very nice.

Tamara Allwood

Two male nurses who helped us were terrific, same with the two female X-ray people. Although most of the women nurses are rolling their eyes at babies crying. Why work at a children's hospital if you're going to do that? And the doctor in the emergency is rude. I try to talk to her, she just acts like I am not there or anything.

Justin Wen

I don't understand why training the new nurse for 5month baby! It was not take quick time for Throat, but there want to training the new nurse, there use a lot the time for 5 month baby.

Jaspreet Dhillon

My 15 month old daugther was pooping blood and I waited in emergency at Alberta children’s hospital for 4 hours before a doctor came in to see us . She was in so much pain and the nurses/ staff had little compassion and said all we can do is wait . It is shameful that we get this kind of medical care and we are told that our situation is not emergency enough to be looked after and can do nothing but patiently wait . I strongly disapprove of this kind of medical attention .

A M

The nurses are amazing. My kids are always comfortable. Some of the dr are so amazing with the kids .

Chase Reinhardt

Doctors here are helpful and the building is colorful!

Theo Cervantes

One of the best hospitals in the country. Staff is motivated and thorough, supporting my daughter through a difficult diagnosis and recommended very pragmatic courses of action. Only people that expect miracles, or that don't understand triage would be disappointed.

hi hi

Amazing facility, like most hospitals there is a long wait time but for me, it was so worth it, I have been in emergency so many times and am followed by outpatient clinics and the nurses and doctors are so amazing between giving me popsicles and blankets to letting me look at my x-rays while they explain them. Mental health care is slightly lacking, but the new centre should fix that.

Samantha L

Horrible experience at the emergency waiting area . I wonder how this hospital haven't thought for years of taking things a bit serious with waiting time and overnight intake for kids . Children aged 3 months and up are to stay in a seated position all night in the emergency waiting area until called in .we arrived at 12 midnight and went into a room at 5 AM in the morning, kids exhausted couldn't walk straight from stiff muscles and completely disoriented. We as adults can tolerate and have been tolerating such wait times but poor kids have no place to lay down and sleep until they are called in . The hospital spends all this money building and hiring the best pediatricians in Calgary with no consideration on such simple fix things . They can spend money on a huge aquarium at the entrance , a capsule and some statues and useless stuff but not a temporary clean place for the kids to lay down on, at least overnight , no need for the morning. Every parent keeps their mouth shut so the hospital automatically thinks it's normal and that they are doing a great job. Treating kids in the emergency area with such neglect should not be ignored . If you are reading this and you are sitting waiting for your turn , your kids and tired and you are asked to shut up and wait then write a review . Several reviews might make them consider some changes . The parking area outside the emergency area is not free ofcourse that's because you and your kids are going into an indoor playground to have some fun!! The area has no residential area nearby so why enforce a pay parking? Nobody in the hospital knows why but they follow like the rest of the herd and pay , even the staff pays . Disgusting way of taking advantage of people in need . It's 6 AM and no doctor yet just a room . Maybe we did something wrong and they are punishing me and my kids . I just want my kids to be healthy and happy and I wish all you out there the best .

Joaquin Urbano

(Translated) Excellent medical care but very late, I have been waiting for 6 hours and do not attend to my son ???? (Original) Excelente la atención médica pero muy tardado, ya llevo 6 horas esperando y no atienden a mi hijo ????

Noor R

We were at the emergency 21st Feb 2018 around 3:00 pm for my son as he catch cold. There was a white lady at the Triage 1 room who was checking everything and getting info about my son was so rude. My son is just two year old and she was complaining about covering his mouth. Well babies are quick learners we all know but how would a two year old baby will know to cover his mouth while coughing? He was so weak and having fever and coughing all through and she expects the little baby to cover his mouth by himself really ?? My wife was literally crying infront of her as how could people be so mean. She was wearing gloves and mask what else do you need for protection and if you think this job is contageous for you then find some other job. The Doctors inside the emergency were fantastic which eased a little bit of pain we got at first from the lady at Triage 1

Mohamed Elkadri

Awesome staff who are real friendly!!

Omar Elbekai

This hospital is great, the nurses take care of you and my doctor dr Haider is the best doctor there

Heshan Fernando

The nurses are absolutely amazing from my experience, they are very caring and understand how to talk to children and teenagers in a way to reassure them and keep them cheerful. They're interested in getting to know you and are all very social-able and lovely

nick black

Some of the doctors have no clue why they chose to become a pediatrician.. And the reception nurses are very tired. During the night shift they seem to be having a couple of doctors for the entire emergency unit so you enter the parking at 12 am they send you home at 5 am sometimes without telling you what your kid has.. they say if it gets worse just come back!. Seriously??. shouldn't be that way. Shame.

Sidrah Moiz Khan

Dr Adam Oester at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. I wish you gave my son, Wali, some more time and really diagnosed him the way he SHOULD have been diagnosed the night we rushed to the emergency because he had a burning fever and couldn’t breathe properly. You corrected me saying, “It’s called stridor, not wheezing,” when I told you how I could hear wheezy sounds while he struggled to breathe. I wish you looked a bit beyond the checkup done by the nurses in triage. You stood in the room we were for less than five minutes and gave my two-year-old a STEROID medicine which he never needed. Three days after you saw him, we saw another doctor and she sent us in for a chest X-ray right away and turns out all that he had all these days was pneumonia and NOT croup as you had dubbed. Your negligence and your careless attitude caused us sleepless nights filled with stress and pain. I saw my child’s cough becoming hoarser, his body kept fighting the bacteria causing pneumonia for so many days it went undiagnosed. He had and still has non-stop burning fevers, his appetite has reduced to almost NO SOLID FOOD and barely any liquid here and there. He is in so much pain that he’s only drinking a sip or two at a time. He has been coughing up so much mucus that his throat has been inflamed to the point that he cannot swallow without feeling pain. He wakes up at night, burning in fever and crying and coughing up. He has vomited several times, throwing up even more mucus. You are probably the worst doctor I have taken my child to. You left my child struggle with pneumonia all these days when all he needed was an X-ray to confirm the symptoms and antibiotics to follow. What I went through, I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy. I seriously think you should step down and not be allowed to see children who come in with serious illnesses and you turn them away WITHOUT EVEN checking as much as their throat and ears (these are basics!). No child should be seen by you or else, they will be put on a serious risk of being misdiagnosed and mistreated.

Jim Penhale

If you want to get told you're next and then sit there for hours waiting and waiting in the finest Soviet - style health care available this is the place for you. A shining example of how Canadian health care is a joke, and it's not so much about treatment as waiting for treatment . An absolute joke. Our family also lived in the US and despite what people here love to say ( people that don't really know . the US system is infinitely better than the Canadian "waiting list".

mike jardine

Sitting here for almost 4 hours when the wait time is supposedly 2? Pure trash and my son will NEVER come back to this dump!

Muhammad Michael

The facility is amazing and the Drs and Nurses are truly doing their best to give quality service and time for the kids. However, there is a HUGE understffing in "Alberta" children hospital. I understand there is triage but why must we wait for 4 hrs every single time we come to the hospital for an urgency !! I hope someone in the government or the hospital administration understands that adequate staffing is vital for adequate service.

Meme The Cat

One of the best Children's hospitals in North America. Facility aside (which is a modern, state-of-the-art medical facility), it's people who make all the difference. Nurses, doctors, porters, cleaners and other staff - people here care and it shows. Absolute majority of nurses and doctors don't show up here for the sake of paycheck - they show up here because they love their work, they care and they want to help. Let me address main issues that were highlighted in critical reviews here: 1. "Poor access": ACH is minutes away from Trans-Canada Highway and about 10 minutes driving from downtown. If you live in Calgary - easy to get to. If you live outside Calgary - easy to get to. Plenty of bus routes, highways, bike paths leading to ACH. 2. Location - location has been correctly identified by Google now. Trust me, this is where ACH is located and will be located for foreseeable future. If you are giving a hospital 1 star because Google initially showed the old Children's Hospital or you are incapable of finding a gigantic building that looks like gigantic Lego blocks- you are missing the whole point of giving ratings to places

Ben Rashid

Wait time is horrible, you’ve to have 10 ears to listen to them calling

Ingrid molina

My child started having clusters if seizures every night she is have ones that last more than 5 minutes and will turn blue from not breathing at the end of the seizure and she also has theones that last 30or so seconds that come in clusters they go on all night till the morning up ,it's doing lots of damage, she hadn't had these for 4 or more years ,so I called the doctor on call and was told to bring her in .when we got to the hospital i explained to the doctor what was going on they pumped her with meds and told me to take her home ,i told them the meds are not working and that I was afraid to take her home without any plans or them not controlling her seizures .they sent us home anyways ,and the doctor told me that my child's doctor was away so they didn't "want to do anything to step on each other's toes"and the doctor had a very bad careless manner she was even yelling at me, because I knew that when we went home she would have many seizures ,I could also hear her tell the nurses outside our room that I should have just given her the rescue med instead of bringing her here .i told her that the meds I have don't work. I feel because my child already is damaged from her seizures in the past they don't care if she is even more brain damaged nowbecause the doctor said, well she had these in the past too. That was on Jan 17 and she is still having many seizures each day its horrible for her she is loosing memory fast and can't even do school ,we haven't slept much ,but nobody will help my child .they said since she will be in the hospital Feb 22nd we have to wait .that's how many more days of seizures really ? Can my child's body and brain take this ?

Edgardo Chirinos

All medical personnel in the Emergency area are very friendly and provide excellent care. I congratulate you, continue that way. Thank you

Meg Beauch

Outstanding! I couldn't of felt more comfortable and confident in a care team for my baby! Communication and organization is amazing!!!

Howard Beast

7 hours waiting. The doctor didn’t do any formal test (like ultra sound or blood test). Just tell us to come back again or go to walk in clinic if things is getting worse, which our baby is already in really bad condition. If you are going to take your baby go there, my recommendation is 1) take lots of food and drinks (Some energy drink) with you, you don’t know how long you are going to wait. 2) Directly pay the 24 hours parking- $14.25, because you are going to wait for at least 3 hours, you are going to pay $13.25 for 3 hours, versus $14.25 for 24 hours! One of my teachers who is a plumber told me that one plumber is actually save more lives than one doctor in Canada, which is not a joke.

Marie Bondoc

The other staff are great except for this man ( 30-40s age, with glasses, beard, short, I think he was RN) at the Triage1 Sunday September 15, 2019 12:15pm who was I don't know if he was tired or something, we understand about short staff and all but please try to be kind and use polite words when you talk to patients and family. Every one is going through something, just try to be nice the least.Sarcasm can get you no where!

Rachel Powderface

Yesterday morning I brought my grandson in to see the on-call doctor at Children's Hospital (I'll find out his name but I don't have it offhand), and he was incredibly rude to me and my son. Instead of offering helpful advice (like doctors are supposed to), he yelled at us and humiliated us in front of a lot of people. He seemed to be treating other people normally, so I feel it's because we are Aboriginal. We will use the Canmore Hospital from now on instead of bringing my grandchildren to Children's.

Fadi Sfeir

The nurses are truly very amazing, they really care for the well-being of my child and every time I have gone there, the experience has been great. The doctors are mostly on time, the delay in getting care for my daughter is usually acceptable. I am impressed by the hospital's commitment to creating an environment that lets children relax, even though they are there for treatment. I am glad we have a hospital of this stature in our City, it is truly a place of healing for children and families. Parking is great, and access is convenient. The standards are truly world-class.

Amy Nixon

Great job staff ????

Karlie Reid

The nurses and doctors are amazing here. We felt everyone genuinely cared about us and our baby.

John Oel

Arrived at 12:30 am for a badly infected ear drum. We were shuffled around through the night and by 3:15 we had still not seen a Doctor. There was only 5 other kids there when we arrived at it still took almost 3 hours of waiting. Definitely the place to be if you don't mind listening to you child suffering needlessly. I will say that the "check in " nurse was very pleasant. One good thing in a list of WTFs.

Наташа Ушакова

All nurses that was near my child are angels ! Thank you!

ekch amhi

Worst... waiting time for emergency is minimum 6 to 7 hrs... Why people come here in emergency only hospital knows .. Don't go ... do home remedies..or wait defenitely your kid will heal by himself/herself

Apoorva Vajpayee

This is a great Hopsital. My daughter was here for 30 days. The nurses are trained to cater to children, the Doctors are understanding and approachable, the staff polite and prompt. This was God- sent for us. I wish nobody's child would have to stay at the Hospital, it is daunting and stressful, but if they ever have to do, thank your stars for this establishment around.

Waheeda S

Brought my 2 year old son here and we were seen by Dr. Zoe P. She was so caring and such a good doctor very thorough and helped diagnose my son quickly and even called 4 days after our visit to see how he was doing. I love the children’s hospital! And they even have a very nice kids play area where you can drop your kids off or stay and play with them and they are very clean and santize everything and they lady there was very helpful. Overall very good experience!!! Thank you children’s hospital.

Victor Law

Anyone who would give a hospital less than 5 stars is just wrong. They truly cater to children and will do their very best to take care of you. Food is what you expect. Its to fill you up while you wait for them to take care of your little ones. One thing I love about children's is that the design is open space with lots of colors. It makes it just a little bit happier.

Ewaso Kedong

The hospital staff appears inept and it's actually useless to take your kid there. All they know about is tyrano or advice. Doctors not well trained.

Christian Woldemariam

My experience at this childrens hospital was never what I had seen before. Their information and knowledge about diseases and sicknesses were over the top. The docters , nurses , house keeping and all the other teams are nice and exceptionally amazing at their job. Thanks for everything to this hospital especially hematology unit. Keep up the good work !

Kristen Wood

My 2 year old was having breathing problems so u brought him in. Sat in the waiting room for nearly 4 hours. When i told them we are going somewhere else they said i camt cause he is having breathing problems.....EXCEPT THEY WONT SEE HIM!!!

zara ghodoosi

Calgary needs more advanced children's hospital and medical system than this little one. This one is not enough especially for emergency part ,too slow, always take around 3or more hours to see a doctor although we see and be examed by a lot of nurses which is not efficient and it's just time consuming because each time after passing several nurses they still can't say or solve any of medical conditions,,it needs more doctors .instead of nurses I was there and the nurses didn't recognize how emergency was my 16 month son condition and we waited for more than 7 hours and even I asked the nurses( who did just regular check up that everyone can do that ), and for checking the ears infection they responded they weren't be able to do it except doctors, as soon as the doctor examined my son she said it was so serious and she put him on antibiotic immediately !????

M B

Was at the hopsital Saturday due to having a sick baby, and came again Monday. The staff was amazing was so caring this morning with my baby she wasn't feeling well and she was admitted right away. We saw Dr. Christien Ferrier he was so kind explained everything to us was so extremely gentle with my baby and gave us papers to help us understand what baby has and how to administer medication, etc. Thank you for you service and continuous work and dedication to help keep our children healthy and safe.

Sarah Lisa

Easy to navigate and my daughter was seen right away

Tristan Ambrosio

A very colorful hospital from the outside. A children's hospital indeed!

Jimbo Jones

Parking is expensive (considering the location and and land use).

George Bousoulas

Waiting and waiting and waiting Siick babies are waiting This is a third world country's children hospital

Jack Willard

Hard working staff and thankful for an amazing hospital.

Abhimanyu Malhotra

Your child is suffereing from chronic pain and you rush to this Alberta Childern Hospital Emergency only to find 1. Paid parking with troubles with the ticket machine 2.Emergency means we have travelled all the way to this hospital because we have an emergency and our child is suffering from chronic stomach pain and upon arrival we are told there is a 2-3 hours waiting at 11.30 in the night . Our child should wait outside with pain. Does anyone actually review these google reviews ? Can’t say we made the right choice bringing our daughter here Dear google any option to give rating in minus !??

Kerys Robinson

After experiencing one of the hardest things I have ever experienced with our youngest boy... this place is an absolute god sent, this place was build from the ground up with love, compassion and bravery. The staff that work there are outstanding! They compassion they show to my little boy was more then any father could ever ask for. This place is amazing! They even set up beds for my wife and I to get a few hours sleep. I cant say enough good things about this place. God bless all the staff that keep this place going.

Margaret Ziehr

People are awesome

Thenightfly

Why do you have the two most expensive places to eat and drink in the city at your hospital?? For the people that are here staying with their children weeks on end and have to go down and buy that expensive garbage at the restaurant that is always cold and dried out...great job on the gouging

Tracy

I want to say a big thank you to health link, nurses, doctors and all the front line staff working so hard for our community while we are going through this crisis. You are valued ????

Carleyne

Both my boys were admitted with RSV a week and half ago and the doctors and nurses were all amazing, caring and very considerate. Thank you especially to our nurse Esther on Floor 2 for nursing our oldest back to health. We were blessed to be in such good hands during our children's illnesses.

May Bieday

It's not an emergency place, it makes you more ill and more stressful, just waiting for nothing

Robert Ettel

Horrible facility. I wouldn't take my worst enemies child here.

Adam Johnston

I came in with my son on a Thursday evening at 9pm. He turned out to have a fractured elbow. We were admitted, had X-rays, was set up with a splint and we were out of there by 1130pm. The staff, nurses, and doctors were all wonderful and my son actually had a fun time, given the situation. I was very impressed with the hospital and how efficiently and effectively they took care of my son.

Kin Chan

Thanks to the help of everyone here for my grandson's hearing problem. He got cochlear implant surgery for both ears here, and also great follow up support program. We can feel the love & care from each hospital staff. Thank you!

Raja Gill

My daughter raveen was seen at er today diaraere and vomiting fever for many days she is in bad shape still Waited 6 hours in total For nothing She was not even checked properly No ear check, no really communication with mother myself. She was sent home without being treated oh it's just stomach flu. A short dr was very attituded I wish I knew his name We were both not treated with respect and care.

jd s

Lack of staff. Waiting hours are terrible.

Min Baek

Many thanks to everyone who works here.

R P

The staff here focus on the kids. Period. If it's not an emergency, be prepared to wait. However, if it is an emergency, the response time is so so so fast. I see a lot of people complaining about wait times, I think that if I am waiting outside, that means that the doctors are working furiously on another child that is in much more critical need. All the nurses and doctors at this location look out for your children.

Lucky One

(MY REVIEW IS FOR THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT) untrained, non-professional staff, don't intend to there unless it is the closest place and you wanna ANYBODY to save your kid's life. OTHERWISE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. yes, they're well organized, but I don't care with organization while the main purpose of visit (medical service) is that BAD.

Arshdeep Singh

This hospital is great it helped to a lot and the staff a review very friendly and nice.

Parveen Sangah

Went to the emergency late one night and the triage nurse was so rude. She had no smile on her face. When my kids said they didn't want to wear the masks she turned to my 3 year old who was sick with fever and cough and looked him in the eye and said I don't care, u have to. Who talks to children that way?! I would expect more from a children's hospital, and that too a nurse! Can't speak for the rest of the staff. But the experience with the Triage nurse was enough to send us out of there immediately.

Brittany Nast

My daughter was injured and had to stay at the hospital for 8 days, the care she received was beyond anything I could imagine they made her stay so amazing and the nurses and doctors were compassionate and caring! I can't thank you enough for making this horrible situation into a relaxed and fun environment for my daughter Danika!

shamsa osman

My son has surgery at alberta children hospital calgary today, the anesthesiologist of my toddler said where are you from? I said i am from SOmalia , then he said SOmalia i!!! I hope you are not pirate. What racist comment.

Nasser Khan

Cooperative staff and security service

I think is a good hospital for kids. I think the doctors are good. Like they actually care and know what they are doing. They are very informative and make you feel better about what is happening. Thank you for all the caring doctors at the children hospital. It is really hard to find good doctors.

I arrived to the emergency room with my 2 year old toddler who could not eat, was vomiting, feverish and coughing at 2 am. By 6 am, my toddler is not responding and they do not care. They told me that I have to wait, there was nine children and no one checked anything. I had to leave and ended up calling my family overseas who found a specialist in EGYPT who had the time to consult on my son's condition. Every single dollar spent on that useless hospital is wasted money. I have never seen this level of incompetence in my life. Useless staff and billions wasted on useless people.

Service from medical staff has been great. New pre-paid parking at a hospital is beyond ridiculous. We have ill children, my son's in multiple departments and now i have the stress of worrying about parking time and leaving my son mid appointment to run down and add more time or get a ticket. Ticketing in a children's hospital is as low as low goes. Not a smart change.

I think this has to stop, you might have good nurses and doctors but timelines is also a very important service. My wife went to the hospital with my son, they had to wait for more than 3hrs just to for a doctor to attend to them in the middle of night, this was an emergency!!! Very poor in terms of timing. Please emergency services have to be treated like emergency !!!!!!!
