I was a patient here for roughly three years during grad school, and out of the seven or so dental offices I have been to in my life, York Lanes has by far been my favorite. Having had a few great and not so great dentists in the past, I feel confident in the high opinion I hold Dr. Haddad and Dr. 'Alex'. I am sure the other dentists are great, but these are the two for whom I was patient. Having had a number of procedures done here, including the simultaneous removal of four wisdom teeth and a few difficult fillings for decay between two touching surfaces, these dentists really know what they are doing. Very fast and proficient drilling, without any complications after the fact. The staff here are very friendly and professional, and are willing to work with insurance providers to see work gets covered. Excellent office staff, hygienists and dentists. Highly recommended.

I had a filling replacement on a molar by Dr. Alex yesterday. after completion of the procedure I did not suffer ANY discomfort and or any sensitivity which i found to be amazing. usually, the sensitivity last upwards of 4-6 weeks, not in this case. I had a really good visit to this dental office. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming and helped in guiding me through understanding my insurance and payment process. Adrienne was my dental hygienist and she was engaging and informative. She carefully explained the benefits of flossing, demonstrated how and we discussed the option of an electric toothbrush. general cleaning and what not are great, the hygienist does an excellent job, top of the line equipment. I finished my second tooth extraction and I woke up mid way through the surgery after I mentioned them about it mid task. On top of that they threw away my tooth without the consideration of holding it for me. medication consultation wasn't done by the doctor. I wasn't very pleased. I suppose it depends on the doctor that your get. The older one is usually fine.

Did a full checkup on my teeth. The radiologist (?) told me I had a crack in one of my front teeth, which I knew about already. The dentist comes in and proceeds to tell me that the crack is a cavity and needs treatment right away. This was...7 years ago? No cavities.

I went with my friend to pull out her wisdom teeth and this place is the ABSOLUTE WORST!! They’re very manipulative and only care about your money. They’ll tell you a price over the phone and when you actually get there suddenly there are additional cost to the point where your paying more than necessary out of your own pocket. They contradict themselves at every turn. I have never seen someone pay so much money out of pocket for tooth removal. I find that they lie a lot. One of the useless receptionist or whatever they want to call themselves told my friend and I that she’ll be paying an additional cost because on top of the extraction she’ll be getting one tooth filling. So while my friend is under the sedation, (therefore she’s not in her right mind) they claimed that she was never getting a filling, so what the hell did she pay for? They are in it for the money and their attitudes simply make you want to punch them in the face.

The first time I went I was actually surprised by the friendliness presented by the front desk! I had April as my dental hygienist in York lane and she was amazing at everything. She is joyful and has full commitment in her job! During the cleaning she made sure she cleaned everything and never complained about it.

I had Dr. Haddad and Raluca for my Invisalign treatment. They're awesome and I would recommend them to anyone looking into invisalign! The only issue with this place is they have a terrible front end staff, as mentioned in many other reviews. However, I found that I had a better experience once I realized I just had to be proactive in ensuring that they have your appointments correct, etc. (more info. below). Anyways, the front end staff aren't the ones working on your teeth, so if what you really care about is having great service where it matters (with your Invisalign) then I would recommend this pair. The issue with the administration staff is that they mix up appointment times and their extremely unprofessional, once I could even hear her eating in my ear while on the phone with me. One time they rescheduled an appointment of mine with only 20 minutes notice (they hadn't received my trays in yet, which is not their fault however they should have known to call me earlier). One time I heard him telling the receptionist to schedule me an appointment for a specific service (which involves sending something to the lab). She booked me and off I went. Since I know how they are, I decided to call a few days before my appointment and ask if everything with my appointment was okay. Of course, it wasn't as I was told that the lady who booked me put me in for a time that is not appropriate for that service (they have certain times they can get stuff to the lab). They rescheduled me and it was fine, however if I hadn't called they most likely wouldn't have noticed this until last minute.

I gave a 5 star review before but I gotta tell please be careful about the payment. I am a student and I have never paid so much for my dental work before. They did not explain or communicate before doing the procedure on me. I had x-rays, pictures of my teeth and cleaning and they told me its $500! And my insurance will only pay $300 something. I am very disappointed and they threatened me to send it to the credits. But there was no communication before the x-rays and cleaning that it would cost that much. The following was my review right after doing the procedure waiting for the payments: "Wow! dental services in here is so good! I have never had so nice cleaning and detailed dental exam before. Staff are super nice and helpful, my hygienist Ms. Jass was super caring and knowledgeable."

Honestly York lanes had some of the highest prices of the many quotes I’ve sought out for my dental surgery. My experience there was not unpleasant but I felt very overwhelmed by all of the information and felt like my options were not explained to me very well. When going over payment plans I felt like the space was very confined and there was no payment “plans” discussed just a bunch of numbers thrown out at me which was super overwhelming. It’s convenient that it’s on campus but I would suggest searching for other options before deciding if this is the right place for you

Please do yourself a favor. Find another clinic. If you make an appointment be ready to wait an extra 20 mins. And be ready for a real headache if by any reason they need to refund you. I'm sure there are better places

York Lane Dental is the best. I had such severe phobia of dentists that I was willing to endure the pain to avoid dentists. However Dr. Haddad and his wonderful staff helped to get over my fear. Honestly, I payed over $4000 for Invisalign treatment here just to be left with unaligned teeth. They told me my treatment was “finished” while my teeth are not straightened to my liking. They really rushed my treatment and charged me full price. They also filed down my bottom teeth completely unevenly. As a student, I didn’t have just thousands of dollars to waste on an unsuccessful treatment, so I’m really disappointed that I’m going to have pay the $4000 all over again to get my teeth re-aligned at a new dentist, who by the way has recommended me to stay as far away from this place as possible. Beyond disappointed and left feeling scammed out of my money...

I went to them because they were close. Big mistake. They "spotted" eleven cavities in my mouth and were prepared to charge me over eight-hundred dollars upon a return visit to fill them in. I didn't trust their assessment, so I booked with my regular dentist for a second opinion. He said I had one small cavity he would take care of. The York Dental Office didn't see the one actual cavity I had! They were planning to re-drill previous fillings and to drill new holes into my teeth, and I still would have had a cavity! After speaking with some people from classes and work around the university, it sounds like the York Dental Office grifts anyone who goes to them. They should be reported to the College of Dental Surgeons. DO. NOT. GO. HERE.

Went in for a cleaning... they said one is not enough, came back for part 2, they said "oh we need a third visit for the polish". Claimed I have gum disease (just so I book more appts) even though my other dentist elsewhere never said so after taking actual XRAYS. Charged me WAYYY more than what was initially stated without my consent or any clear explanation. Manipulative AF (never gave any option of opting out of the extra charges). Save your dollar and literally go anywhere else. Would give NEGATIVE 100 if I could.

For the past 3 years I have unintentionally been a cash cow for the sole dentistry on the York University Keele campus. I must admit that the easy convenience was a major contributing factor as to why I went, but, what is convenience when you're subjugated to the worst quality service? Please know that your YFS Health and Dental Plan WILL work at better dentist offices. Also, there are certain dentist offices who are a part of Green Shield's "Student Discount Dental Network (SDDN)" where you can get up to an additional 25% off certain services, on top of the 75% coverage you have. Please research long and hard before you choose a dentist office.

Went for cleaning a few times, staff is nice and the appointments went well. The main problem was the constant sales pitches. They tried to convince me to get my wisdom teeth out and get Invisalign. The former was unnecessary and the second would not have fixed my teeth at all. It just seems they like to focus on money off you instead of your well-being and longevity of your teeth.

I went to York Lane's dental in search for both a dentist and assistance with a TMJ problem that caused me a number of health issues including pain, migraines, and discomfort. From the beginning they have done everything in their power to make all dental exams and procedures comfortable and thorough, and they further discussed potential treatment plans with me. In the end Dr. Haddad cleared me to try invisalign treatment for my jaw. Raluca, my restorative dental hygienist, had been thorough and attentive every step of the way and she formulated a custom treatment and retention plan in an effort to make the treatment as effective of a TMJ treatment as possible. It took just about a year and my treatment is now complete, and I am AMAZED to say that the problems stemming from my TMJ have significantly dropped; I have less migraines and headaches, less facial pain, less cracking and less discomfort over all. To top it off my teeth look and feel perfect! My Invisalign experience with Raluka and Dr. Haddad at York Lane's Dental has been spectacular and made far more than a cosmetic change, but a beneficial health one. It has litterally made a huge difference on my life. I am so unbelievably happy to have found something that finally helped, and I am so thankful to the team that helped get me to this point. Thank you Raluca and Dr. Haddad for all of your consideration and hard work, I couldn't be happier with the results!!!

Staff, hygienists, and dentists are second to none. Courteous, professional, cleanly, and timely. If you are not good with dentists, have fears, or suffer from a mental health condition/anxiety, many of the staff are trained to be or are naturally very reassuring and patient. I came in with a fear of dentists, Mez and DR. HADDAD patiently calmed my nerves and helped me get over this fear. All of the individuals are professionals and the best at their craft, particularly Dr. Haddad who has replaced and fixed several fillings and crowns from other dentists, as well as completed my two implants. All work was done professionally, timely, and to the highest standard.

They are in direct violation of City of Toronto By-law 541-2020. My husband and 5 year old child were refused scheduled services and asked to leave for not wearing a mask, while being medically exempt. The manager has no customer skills and clearly has not been trained properly on the appropriate procedures. They have excellent dentists, but management definitely needs to be changed to someone knowledgeable. Previously we were accommodated by them with no issues. Definitely taking my dental hygiene needs elsewhere.

I can't believe they are allowed to operate on a student campus. Only York. Sketchy, dishonest, and pushy. I just wanted my wisdom teeth looked at. They didn't look my wisdom teeth, which was the purpose of my appointment. I was pressured into x-rays after saying no several times. They tried to sell me cosmetic services for my teeth as an undergraduate student even though I have perfect teeth from years of braces. I was uncomfortable and I very felt taken advantage of. Asked me if I had insurance about six times. They tried to pressure me into $2,400 in dental work without explaining what the services were for or why I needed them. They take you into this little room in the back and do a sales pitch. They freaked me out over a stain on one of my teeth by showing me in a magnifying mirror. They continuously called me for months after. A second dentist confirmed my teeth are fine. The stain was surface and completely normal. I see in their responses to these Google reviews, they mention a client's records. This is completely illegal.

I've been seeing Dr. Haddad and the team of hygienists at York Lanes since 2011. I didn't like going to the dentist after some questionable experiences at other clinics. The staff at York Lanes repaired some poorly done fillings, fixed new cavities and helped me nurse my gums back to health. Every step of the way they explained what was being done and if I had any other choices. Thank you for taking such great care of my smile!

Price are different from what they tell you on the phone.. Went to do 4 filling and i decided to do 3 instead still being charged for 4. Did one tooth distraction, Doctor clearly stated 57$... got charged 231$ instead. (tooth removal only took him 3mins).... never return again.. BEWARE of their schemey price.. Also, in the past they tried charge my insurance a tooth that i already did with them, and when i called back, they say they made a small mistake... BEWARE... and also this person who dealing with my billing today don't know how to deal with client very well, she keep insisting that she is always right.. i got so pissed that i decided to cancel my future appointment and never return..

I've been coming to York Lanes for a few years and almost always have a positive experience. Most recently, I had a cleaning with April. She was super attentive, friendly, and thorough. April took the time to educate me and give me tips on things like flossing and my night guard. She also explained my insurance coverage to me and made an effort to schedule my appointments accordingly. Education is an element of the dental care at York Lanes in general. But I appreciated that April admitted she too has trouble wearing her night guard consistently, and then followed that with a tip that helped her. I just thought it was such a thoughtful and sincere way to do your job. Ask for April!

When I came to the dental office, I had an emergency toothache so I booked an appointment and asked for the price. At first, the lady told me it was going to be $135 and then said since its an emergency it will be $75 MINUS the little insurance I had left from York. I told her ahead of time that I didn't bring my wallet because I use my YorkU card as payment for everything and she said that its fine and I can come in to pay the next day. After my appointment with Dr. Gordon (who is amazing) I went to the front desk and an Asain lady was overcharging me. I told her when I walked in someone has told me another price. She went to the back and printed off the receipt of $80 something dollars, I still had to pay $75 but they added the little York student insurance I had left. Then she told me to pay my balance and I said I had talked to someone else and she said it was fine if I paid the next day. She started laughing and then yelled at me how I had one problem after another. This was in front of everyone and I was humiliated. It is not my fault that the staff did not have a clear communication and blamed a patient. They dealt with the issue very poorly and I am not pleased with how the FRONT DESK treats their patients.

The hygienist was very nice however they told me that I had 11 cavities and my teeth needed to be cleaned every 4 months (which isn't so great in the long run). I didn't do anything about it that year but the next year I visited several different dentists and found out I only had 1 cavity. In my opinion they're mainly after the insurance money.

This is an awful place. If you value your money and your time, do not go to this office. A simple refund turned out to be a hassle because they withdrew my money instead of depositing the money back to my account and wasted my time because I had to travel to York to do the process over again. VERY DISORGANIZED place to go to. Their staff have some family emergency every single time we book an appointment (I was told three times they had family emergency and had to cancel on me). The staff will change your appoint whenever they please. No respect for the client's time and business :( If you have other options to go to another place please avoid this place either for cleaning or wisdom teeth extraction. They canceled my appointment just few hours before the appointment and they tried to do it again on the second appointment. They also cancelled my wife's wisdom teeth extraction literally two days before the surgery after we both took a day off from work. The manager told us what happened to us actually happened to another lady called "Lawrence". The audacity of this people is crazy. Take your business somewhere else please!

That's too bad. I had a very good experience. Dr Haddad and his staff were so warm and welcoming. They made me feel so relaxed. When I went for my first exam all the pictures of my teeth were shown to me and well explained. I am a student so they were able to set up my appointments in order of priority and gave me a payment arrangement that fit into my budget. Dr Haddad put me to sleep and removed my wisdom teeth. He is an amazing surgeon.

Operated on cavities that were non-existent and only at-risk, and hadn't changed in 5 years. Unnecessary, and my hometown dentist agreed. When I confronted them about this, they said that I told them my fillings didn't exist and I never came in. I've never said any such thing, they just enjoy being difficult. They also charged double or triple the regular costs for everything and denied it, even when I had proof. I now have issues with two of my fillings, and had to pay to have this fixed elsewhere because it was causing me pain. Maxed out both of my insurances and then are rude to me on the phone, and were difficult when I insisted they speak to my parents instead of myself. Lots of other reviews on many different sites reporting the same issue, obviously they enjoy abusing students insurance while they are away at school.

I just got my filings done this Tuesday which was February 8th. Tell me why not even a full week has passed and the same fillings are hurting WORSE than when I went in to be treated. It’s currently February 10th, it has been TWO days since I was in to get my fillings replaced. I have told the dental office on multiple occasions that I am busy as I’m working and I’m also a student so I expected for there to be competent dentist that would be able to properly address my concerns. Instead, I have to go in yet AGAIN, which interferes with my busy schedule to get my fillings replaced AGAIN (when they were done TWO DAYS AGO). It’s actually comical at the lack of professionalism that is at this dentist office. Clearly, the dental staff are incompetent and don’t care for their client’s schedules and quite frankly their health.

About a month (in March) and couple of weeks ago, I got all 4 of wisdom teeth extracted. I was extremely nervous. Nervous to the point that I was late for my appointment; deciding in the reception area if should go through with it. On top of me being nervous, I had to sign a lot of papers which set off my paranoia. Dr. Haddad called me to his office were he detailly explained the procedure and how the sleeping drug worked. He explained, that I won’t be fully asleep because they need me to respond to basic demands such as “open your mouth wide” but it will feel as if I’m fully sleep. As they were putting me to sleep, they explained not to fight the drug; remain calm or it won’t work. The nurse demonstrated the difference between pain and pressure follow by how I won’t feel pain but their will be pressure; I didn’t feel either. I don’t fully remember the procedure, I don’t remember seeing blood, I don’t remember ever being in pain or feeling pressure but I remember music and some talking. Overall, I’m HAPPY with everything. P.S. The only advice I would give to individuals doing wisdom teeth extraction is do not fight the drug. Because I remember me trying really hard to fight the drug which made me yell “your taking out the wrong tooth” which they weren’t. I remember the nurse saying just relax with music & the T.V. Playing. About seconds after I was out, not remembering a thing. I’m extremely happy and this is coming from a person who had other dental offices milk their pockets.

She calls and leaves a voicemail, when I call back no response, no one calls back, no one hears the urgent messages left. They don't check their voicemail. In addition, they charge ridiculous amounts. You would pay less going elsewhere.

went to location in 2013 because of tooth pain. the dentist came in with about 2 more persons examined me and said it was just sensitivity. when i went out to the reception one of the girls that was in the in the room was whispering with the reception clearly because they didn't want me to hear what was been said. all i heard was them saying "pull gum" i guess they whispering about what was wrong with my mouth. afterwards the reception said clients aren't allowed to see the dentist without buying the x-ray package only emergency services don't need it. and what did i say to the other receptionist for me to have been let in to see the dentist. i told her i said my tooth was painful. that whole experience was so humiliating i never went back there. i could just feel how toxic the work environment was. and by the way i think the first receptionist which sent me to see the dentist was sent home because when i went back to pay she was not there

This is the worse dentistry ever. I had a fillings done here and they were done so poorly, i had to have them done by another dentistry. One of these fillings actually fell out. They told my wisdom teeth where impacted when they were and made me pay 2 grands for this. In addition they tried to sell me a 4 grand mouth guard tell me this would stop my migraines when it turns out that one of the bad fillings they did was causing it. Shocking over treatment policies. Will insist on having work done that is not necessary. Over sell everything. On having fillings changed (which I later found out where unnecessary), I had to go back 4x because of incompetence in a basic procedure of filing them down. They even insisted on removing teeth (wisdom teeth), that upon going elsewhere I was told (by another dentist and an oral/maxillofacial surgeon) they shouldn't be removed because I use them for chewing. Also insisted on unnecessarily changing a filling even though it may result in a root canal-on getting 2nd opinions have been told is unnecessary. Cleaning and scaling experiencewas horrific, I was left with a painful swollen gum for 6 months and given numerous excuses as to why it didn't heal, and I am now left with a recessed gum and sensitive tooth. To cut it short, avoid at all costs. Making money comes before patient care and ethical morals.

Not impressed with this dental office. I was away for school and visited this office as i had a few concerns. The dentist told me i needed 8 fillings. I thought it was quite odd considering I had seen my dentist back home only a few months prior and was told I didn't have any areas to watch as they might turn to cavities. I requested my xrays and sent them back to my regular dentist, who told me I didn't need any fillings. I was quoted for hundreds of dollars of dental work on my perfectly good teeth. I know in general going to dental office is not pleasant for most of people but for some reason everytime I've gone to York lanes I've had a great experience and they have made the whole experience much easier for me. They are so welcoming and friendly. The dentists always listen to you carefully and they are so patient, knowledgeable and passionate about their job! Financially wise, I've been always given an estimate before my procedures so I don't come up with any surprises at the end! So far I managed to meet different Hygienists in this office for my dental cleaning and my general dental check ups and I have to admit every time I was so surprised for the amount of time and details they go through to do your mauth check ups. I've never had these type of examinations for my gums and teeth before!!! The office is so clean and the instruments they use are always wrapped up in sterile packages which give me such a great feeling and ease of mind! This is the best dental office I've been too. They remember me even though I go like once or twice a year. They are super accommodating and the dentists are amazing. I've yet to actually have my specific dentist but the two dentists I've had are amazing. They were also the only dental office to actually let me know my "root" that other dentists were telling me would work itself out was actually still a baby tooth! After 10 years of it being there my teeth had more room and they saved 3 teeth from root canels. They are all around an amazing team!

This August I moved from Ontario to BC and one of the most difficult good-byes was to my hygienist, Meghan. I went to York Lanes Dental for 20 years and she took such good care of not just my teeth, but also examined for any other kind of anomaly in the neck and head regions. Our sessions were more than just a cleaning, they were educational and she would teach me what she had learned in her most recent workshop or dental readings or how to use a new cleaning tool. She was thorough, very dedicated to her work, and always very pleasant. I truly miss her. I had excellent dental work done by Dr. Haddad and Dr. Soloviov as well.

Avoid. This practice is notorious for abusing insurance. They will max out your insurance and have you pay additional money for services you do not need. I'm certain many of these positive reviews are fake. Look on Yelp and other sites for reviews. My friend and I used to be patients here. They lie about the work that needs to be done and will have you getting fillings and other work that you don't need. I've heard from many other students that this is a common practice at this clinic. They only care about money. And from their replies on here, you can tell that they don't care. If you are an international student or live on campus, just know that there are many other competent and ethical practices in the area. Please be advised.

The staff is unprofessional. I went there over a year ago, the head receptionist – I believe the name was Sarah- left me with the impression that they only want to overcharge and if you complain they insult you. I asked her for a morning appointment she said only afternoon appointments are available. I told her I just want a simple cleaning, they did x-ray and filling which cost three times. This big bully refused to give me a copy of my x-rays or even the receipt of what I just paid for. When I asked to talk to her supervisor she just walked away. So I had to complete my treatment at another clinic, paying again for x-rays, etc.

Dental staff and dentist are amazing. But Diana I spoke to about postponing appointment with 26 hour notice wanted to charge me $75. When I stated that I would keep appointment but expected it to start on time because I was under a time crunch, she said that she would cancel and I should pay $75 when I reschedule and this would be returned back to me once I completed all treatments ( multiple fillings, cleaning and bridge work). I said no - I will keep appointment and decide whether I want to continue at this clinic after that. I prefer not to be offered a reprieve that is conditional on benefits for a business. Motives don't feel right. Either waive the fee or refuse to waive the fee. Don't waive it with conditions, otherwise it feels like money-gouging.

Dr. Hadad is by far the worst dentist I've ever had. To him dentistry is a business, he will destroy your teeth so that you can keep coming back. He did a root canal on me many years ago and it recently festered into a full blown, puss-filled issue. I had to go to a specialist and pay $800 to fix it. The specialist asked if the root canal was performed in Canada or some third world country, that's how bad it was. I can go on with other issues but I think you get the picture. Back in 2010 he had his hygienist do the fillings!

This dental office is dishonest. I went in for a cleaning. I specifically said that’s all I want. They get me down in the chair and start doing a full examination with the computers. When I objected to say I only came in for a cleaning, they shushed me and said it was included. By the time they were finished they gave me a “plan” to come back for the cleaning. I was charged hundreds of dollars separately. I didn’t have insurance which I specifically told them from the beginning. They took my hard earned money and didn’t even clean my teeth. I will have to save up again before going somewhere that will actually take care of me as requested. By the way when I complained no one got back to me. They are dishonest, rude, and money hungry. Stay away.

My entire life I have always had anxiety going to the dentist which has led me to have many dental issues over the years, however thanks to the hygienist Laura I had such a wonderful experience.
