I've been going to DSK dental for more than 5 years. I highly recommend this place to all my friends. The staff are professional and friendly. Karen, the receptionist, is very kind and friendly. She does all the insurance paperwork and makes everything easier for you. Karen makes sure to book your appointment at your most convenient time with the hygienist you want. She always has a beautiful smile on her face! My hygienist is THE BEST! My 6 yr old daughter and I love her. She takes her time to make sure every single tooth is clean. She explains everything clearly and is VERY honest about everything. Our dentist, Dr. Waknine, is very skillful and professional. Give the clinic a try and you will love it!

Dr. Ilana Silber and the hygienists are very friendly and professional. The receptionist Carol takes care of insurance paperwork and appointments. The facility is clean and equipped with modern infrastructure: there's a ceiling TV to keep you entertained as you lie on the dentist's chair.

The staff at DSK Dental are nice. I had my first initial visit after a few years of not attending a dentist and they made me feel comfortable and informed me about the process of my dental health going forward. The only thing about this place is they charge you more than what your benefits cover and won’t inform you about that until the claim goes through which is why I’m giving this place two stars. I have coverage with my benefits plan and they charged me more than what I was covered for when I constantly asked if the treatment was covered under my plan. Why would anyone want to go to a dentist that misinforms them? So if you’re planning on going to the dentist using your benefits plan do not come here unless you’re okay with spending money out of your pocket.

I don't want my review to come off as an attack, because I don't think anyone was malicious in their intent. I just want DSK to understand how some actions can make others feel. I really enjoyed the office at first, but little things started to chip away at me. Atina was a fabulous dental hygienist, and probably the only one who made me feel comfortable in the office. My first bad experience was when I switched jobs, I specifically told them that I no longer had insurance, and would be putting off my cleanings until further notice. Once I got my benefits back, I ended up going to get my cleaning. Turned out the benefits worked differently as I had to submit a reimbursement claim for them. As I was in the middle of the cleaning (chair fully reclined hands in my mouth), their Finance person came in and told me that my insurance claim had been denied. She then proceeds to stare me down, and I felt so small and uncomfortable in that situation. I'm not sure what she wanted me to do? Tell her she was wrong? Immediately leave? After some silence Atina just says to figure it out when the cleaning is done and tells me not to worry. The second and last time I ever visited was for another cleaning. I had just gotten my wisdom teeth out, and they had gotten infected and just recently healed. I asked if it was a good idea. I made sure to tell Carol at the front desk that. She said it should have been fine. I think I also told Atina that. About 4-5 days later, I got another infection. I originally went into the office of the lady who performed my surgery, but she told me that since it was the cleaning that DSK was responsible. I went to DSK to explain my situation and ask for help but one of Anita or Angela came to tell me there was nothing they could do and turned me away. That was ultimately the boiling point and the most frustrating for me. I felt like they didn't care, and all the stuff they say about patient care etc... was just bs. I ended up calling the lady who did my surgery again in tears and she helped me out and consoled me. Anyways, since then DSK has left a negative taste in my mouth. I don't feel comfortable there anymore, and I feel like just another person they can make easy money off of.

I was going here for over a year but stopped when I found out how much they have been overcharging me. I always wondered why my insurance didn't cover full 80% of the charges there but i found out because their fees are much higher than what most insurances cover. For instance, they charge about 1300 for a crown, and i found a place that does it for 800 with a dentist with more experience. I like the receptionists and the clean clinic but the dentist is a bit inexperienced and definitely not worth the overcharged fees.

The doctor also took time to explain to the children everything.. would be a good practice to let the customer know why we are waiting even after 30 mins of our time of appointment..

I used to go here for two years. I found it very comfortable and pleasant. i liked dr waknine. They do try to sell you things you don’t need and I dismissed it because this is just the nature of business... they’re here to make money. I get it. It’s still up to the customer to make the decision of whether or not you want to spend he extra money. After my last visit, I noticed I was not reimbursed fully by my insurance company. I thought there was an issue with the insurance company so I called them to ask if there was an error. It turns out, dsk started to charge more for their services, more than the guideline that is set out for dentists in Ontario. Again, I understand that businesses are here to make money, HOWEVER, there was a complete LACK OF CONSENT on my behalf. They should’ve informed us that they were raising their prices before charging me... not after my services are complete, after I had I paid and had left. I know it’s not necessarily the definition of theft but it’s how I felt; my trust with them has been violated and I am really upset about how they could try to pull this. The extra charge was only for $35 but the money isn’t the issue here. It’s the fact that they didn’t inform me. They called me recently to inform me that my next scheduled appointment was coming up, so I had a conversation with them about how they could pull a scam like this. They told me it was because they had state of the art equipment and some other BS. in my opinion, there was nothing different from them and the toothworks dental office I used before them. And to be honest, I’m just there to get my teeth cleaned, not to enjoy your spa like facilities or use ur most updated equipment. I’m sure there’s tons of other dental offices that charge the price set by the guidelines. GO THERE!!!!!!!

Dr. Waknine and the hygienists are skilled at their craft. They are friendly and genuinely care for their patients' dental health. However, I can not recommend DSK Dental because they went beyond my insurance limits despite the numerous times I told them I could not afford extra expenses. This is the first dental office I've experienced that is unable to create a dental plan around the patient's available benefits. It says a lot when the receptionist was embarrassed to tell me that I've exceeded my insurance limit, to email any concerns to DSK Dental, and when I do email them, I receive no response. So disappointed. Edit: Someone reached out and the matter has been resolved. I am very satisfied with the level of care they have for their customer.

Such an amazing experience with this office. Spa like atmosphere, staff are super polite. The office provides spa music, blankets, back pillows, warm neck pillow and even noise canceling headphones if you don’t like the noice coming from the dental machines. Really feel this clinic as a SCAM! Stay away. After the initial doctor visit, I was told that my teeth are fine but then get emails from the staff that I have cavity and have to get it addresses at the earliest. Just visited another clinic that they confirmed that I don’t have cavity.

Definitely won't recommend this dental office to family and friends. This dental office charges above the recommended fee guide for services provided - which means that even with coordination of benefits you'll be paying out of pocket even for routine cleaning. This was not communicated to me until a year later and after I already accumulated in excess of $200 in charges for my wife and me. It's clear the intent here is to max out your insurance coverage and obtain the maximum payout from the insurance provider for each visit. There's nothing I've observed through my time here which justifies such a premium on their services. The receptionists including Carol provided sub par service - it was actually the lack of communication from reception and their lack of understanding which further contributed to my negative experience here. The only positive from my experience here was my hygiene care from Alex. After I complained about the charges on my account, they agreed to waive some no show penalties (about $35) but I was still left to pay $190 out of pocket. I had hoped the dental owners would have taken ownership of the issue but instead money was clearly more important than providing a good experience for their patient. This is now clearly apparent based on their pricing. If you do plan on visiting here, I definitely suggest obtaining statements after each visit, monitoring your insurance payout, and query upfront about the fees they charge for services. UPDATE: Ashley, on behalf of the owners, reached out to me subsequent to my review to refund the additional charges I incurred. It shouldn't have taken a negative review to encourage some action to resolve the matter but I do appreciate the effort made to ensure that I wasn't paying additional charges out of pocket.

They overcharge. They upsell you. Partial insurance claims only ( even with duo coverage) Their entire staff is very aggressive when faced with any complaints (got yelled at for 15 minutes when I was trying to pay for a teeth cleaning I didn't get) charge more than what any insurance would cover ( more than the recommended fee guide). They don't tell you, but they only do a full cleaning on the 3rd appointment. First, 1hr appointment is x-rays. Second, 1 hr appointment is examinations and a 30min sales pitch about a very expensive gum cleaning (plus some teeth cleaning). Third, one hour appointment is teeth cleaning. Their front desk gets extremely aggressive if you have any complaints (very experienced with defending their unethical practice) I justed wanted my teeth cleaned. I wasted 4 hours (counting travel) and $40 out of pocket (despite 100% insurance coverage) and I still need my teeth cleaned. In their defense, I was 20 min late for an appointment because... life.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sharma's for the last three and a half years. I find her professional, empathetic, and concerned for the comfort and well-being of her patients. She takes the time to explain dental procedures and is willing to answer questions before proceeding with the examination. The office staff are friendly and efficient as well. They are quick to answer questions regarding insurance coverage and to ensure that the correct insurance information is up to date. They are even able to give me an approximate figure on the spot as to the amount that the insurance will cover and as to when the direct deposit will happen when the claims are submitted online. I find it well worth my time to travel to the office, even though it is not that close to where I live. I am happy to recommend this dentist and dental practice, and have already begun doing so.

They want to capitalize on maximum bills by any means necessary. Please stay away from the clinic and refrain from using Opencare. Bogus reviews. Clearly you pay to get your ratings up or poor ratings removed.

Even though Newmarket was not where I lived, I was happy to drive the distance necessary to receive the wonderful care she provided. Excellent customer service, thorough examinations and spa-like premises which helps people who have an innate fear of going to the dentist! The only con is, if you’re coordinating benefits, only 1 party’s benefits is direct billed and for the other party, you have to mail it in to the service provider which makes it a challenge if you’re busy and don’t have time -especially if you’ve visited several times within a short period of time and have to claim multiple times.

Update: after my review, Ashley the manager was very professional about everything and reached out to me. They are reimbursing me for the overcharges and will not be charging me over the accustom amount in the future for basic dental services. However I will leave my original review here for future customers so it's transparent about their fees. Again, their care is excellent, it's just the fees I had a problem with. I've gone here for 2 years now and the service has always been amazing. However, just like the many negative reviews recently, they increased their charges without notifying me. It's above what's normally charged at a dentist and the insurance wouldn't cover for the surplus. I had to pay extra out of pocket. They even suggested I get a night guard which they said is covered by my insurance, turns out they overcharged again and I had to pay. It's a shame they do this because they're losing customers. No one wants to pay out of pocket when we're already paying for insurance! Time to find a new dentist :(

They charge over the dental guideline fees, so you will have to pay out of your pocket every time you visit them, for every single service. There is no justification for the premium you are paying. They have even charged me for explaining how to brush my teeth and floss… On top of that, one of the dentists here told me that I have a cavity and that one my teeth needs to be removed in order to treat the cavity and provided me an inflated estimate for the treatment. I was skeptical and did not proceed with it. After a short while the doctor and the receptionist called me to express their concerns about the decay as they feared it may progress if not treated immediately. I went to two other dentists after that to make sure everything was alright and it turned out nothing was wrong. 2 years later the same tooth is perfectly fine and healthy. Not only they overcharge you, their dental service is questionable and not trustworthy. Not recommended at all.

Our long search for a great dentist is over! Very gentle hygienists (a prerequisite for my two dentist - phobic kids), caring, compassionate and professional dentist and their front-office admin is the best I have experienced. As an added plus, as advertised, all offered in a spa-like atmosphere.
