Glad that I bumped into my friend (Maureen) from college who works here! She works at the front and will bend over backwards to help you with your dental needs, as well as, getting a clear breakdown of your coverage so you don’t get screwed over in the end! I was in the process of looking into a good dentist and luckily came across this spot. The people here are friendly and they know exactly what they are doing. I highly recommend coming here! :)

I hate going to the dentist, but this dentist is different! This is an amazing dental office. Right from the start, the receptionist, Keristen, was very knowledgeable and friendly. She helped me quickly assess my situation and got me in to see the dentist efficiently. I was very impressed. Then when I got to the dentist, things only got better. Scott Fairbairn, the dentist who looked after me, kept me calm and did an excellent job with my teeth. I know that I am a tough person to please, but toothworks boardwalk managed to please me. This is definitely a place I would recommend for all dental needs and inquiries.

Restoring Dignity

I am very unimpressed with this Dental clinic. They are aggressively moving into business mergers swallowing up other dental practices. They register locally or provincially, despite they are operating in multiple provinces in Canada. The Administrative management team were dismissive to me as someone who has serious disabilities and medical conditions. They were slow to facilitate billing in a timely manner, leaving me in a life threatening situation. I spent months advocating to get the coverage through insurance , fifteen months later, the work I most needed done for medical reasons was not done.The good front line administrative staff do not last long. The Toothworks clinics I attended have high turn over with employees. It is too bad there is not ' 0' or ' - 0' rating here or I would give them a minus zero rating. Terrible service. This clinic is the ' Walmart' of dental clinics. It is worthy to note that Toothworks has an aggressive marketing strategy where as soon as you leave after every visit they send requests asking for google reviews, sometimes multiple requests after each visit. As one reviewer wrote here, don't walk away from these clinics, - RUN!

Dr.Anton Benjameen is an amazing doctor. I always feel myself very comfortable, and I could not find anyone else like him. He is so kind, patient, caring, skilled and he has gentle hands. My husband and I transfered to Toothworks several weeks ago. I had my wisdom teeth extracted today. I never thought I would say this, but that was one of the most pleasant dentist appointments I've ever had! Dr Mark and all the staff, including the assistants and front desk, are simply wonderful. The dr was very gentle and friendly and the assistant (whose name, unfortunately, I didn't remember probably because I was a bit nervous when she introduced herself) is amazing! My husband also had a filling done by Dr Mark and I don't think we are ever seeing another dentist in Waterloo! Thank you all for being so lovely!

This is definitely the best dentist I have ever been too. Dr. Al-Attar is amazing. She’s fast, accurate, professional, and I’m always amazed with how quickly and perfectly I recover from her work! The only thing I see wrong is that they open (and start appointments) at 10, and you often see the hygienists and dentists walking in at or after 10 while sitting waiting for your appointment. This means you typically start a few minutes late. Otherwise, appointment reminders via email and text, excellent treatment, and direct billing!

I had a bad experience with this clinic. My insurance company was charged nearly $300 for the services I did not authorize. On the day of my appointment they had a power cut and my dentist was unable to analyze and discuss the results of my x-rays. However, they still filed a claim as if I received the full service. How can you charge for something that did not happen? This is outrageous!

Toothworks was absolutely amazing! My husband and I both went at the same time. So we had different hygienist. When we got back in the car and fought about which hygienist was better hahaha. Overall experience there was amazing. Very well done on the cleaning and the staff is excellent!

Had to deal with insurance issues for a while, but once everything was completed I was told and guaranteed - on multiple occasions - I only needed to pay around $600 for my procedure, including being told the day before. I showed up, got my crown removed and a temporary crown put in, and was then told I needed to pay $1200 out of pocket.... I had already began the procedure, I couldn't just stop it and not pay.... I paid but I complained and brought the issue up and was told I would receive a call back but nothing happened. Always make sure you write what staff you talk to, and what they say. Besides that, the procedure and dentist were great, but really difficult for me financially as I am a college student and was not prepared for this

I was initially slightly ticked off because they seemed to overcharge compared to other dentals (but I just let it go because it was covered by my insurance). The staff was friendly too. But what really ticked me off was that ONE day after I got a filling done, it came out of my mouth hahaha... Never paying to go to this dental ever again Edit: I contacted the dental and they have booked another appointment to fix my filling on my desired date with another dentist. Rating edited from 1 star to 3 stars - I will update this review after the appointment on this upcoming Friday.

I have had some really bad experience with dentists in the past and was not sure what to expect from Toothworks. I have to say that I was blown away by the fantastic customer service I received the minute I walked through the door. I was made to feel welcomed and all of my concerns put at ease. The front desk staff were amazing and always great you by name and ask you how you are doing. My dentist Dr Marc El Masri is fantastic at what he does as is his assistant Hilda. Even when a normal root canal did not go so well, I was well taken care of and they even followed up with a check up phone call the next morning to see how I was doing. Not something that I have ever experienced in the past. I am quite happy with Toothworks. Thank you to the entire staff for excellent customer service.

After not having gone to the dentist for a few years I found myself having some issues and book at Toothworks as they were just around the corner from me. The service I recieved was lovely- the dental assistant was bright and bubbly, and Dr.Man was so thorough in looking through my x-rays and explaining exactly what was happening with my teeth and what a reasonable treatment plan for me is. Dr.Man also ended up performing my root canal and it was about as painless and easy as a root canal can be, and again she was amazing ay explaining the process and asking any questions I had. Even the receptionist (Rachel) was lovely in helping me interpret my insurance coverage and helping me to figure out what would and wouldn't be covered so I could make my treatments fit in my budget and schedule. Finding a dentist that is upfront and honest about costs, benefits, and drawbacks of various services and treatments really was a breath of fresh air. Being treated like a human being instead of just a paycheque really made the difference and I look forward to coming back here to take care of my dental health

Went to have my regular cleaning after changing my previous dentist as this location was near to my new house,they said I got a cavity wisdom teeth n all... so it all started with cavity filling in dec but I am having pain till now I also went to them in 2 weeks of filling done doc suggested to use salt water and sensodyne paste...but not able to get rid of my pain which gets severe in mornings..eventually I feel all was well before dec but now my teeth left side where filling was done has bcome more sensitive not able to drink water n eat properly its affecting my health..now they say I may need to go for root canal or may have to get rid of wisdom teeth...so I believe they should do tests properly before doing any thing..I am happy my husband did not change our previous dentist...

Front desk person, Ramal, one of the most unprofessional, irresponsible and disrespectful individual among the whole team. Never ever follow-up about anything. All they care about is $$. Was told that I’ll be contacted with an update about how much my insurance would cover, but no body did. I decided to do a follow-up to see whats going on and found out they haven’t even send out the pre-determination to my insurance yet. Stay away from this place. If looking for good dentist in KW area, try King Street Dental. Far better.

This is the worst dental office in Waterloo. I have had to go back to have every procedure fixed or adjusted. They can’t seem to do it right the first time. The dentists are rude and the receptionists are clueless. They suggest frequent visits because my insurance will cover it and they are constantly wrong. 2 years in a row now I was told to come 3 times a year and had to pay for the last one myself, albeit not 100%. I’m just so sick of them.

My suggestion is to ask lots of questions and be aware of what treatment and services you are receiving beforehand!!

I first visited Toothworks the Boardwalk in 2018 and had an appointment with Dr. Louagy. The hygienist and Dr. Louagy were great and I really felt valued as a client. Unfortunately fast forward a few years and things aren't the same. Dr. Louagy left in 2019 and they did not notify me of the change, I'm unclear of who my dentist is at this location. In May of 2020 they promised to call to reschedule my appointment due to COVID-19 (no problem). It is now September and they have not called to re-schedule or even to provide any type of update. I've called their office a few times and tried their online booking service and have yet to hear back. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Toothworks at The Boardwalk has the absolute best dental assistant, Hilda! She and the dentist were fantastic with my three year old. He had a filling done and what a great job they did. He didn't complain at all and really enjoyed it. Personally I never thought it would be possible because of his age and everyone telling me to take him to a pediatric dentist. Hilda guaranteed they'd be fine with him and she sure meant it. At one point she had everyone in an opera as he (and they) opened wide "singing" aweeee! It was a very pleasant experience and I wish every professional loved their job as much as Hilda does. It really shows and I thank her and the team for their professionalism!

Really disappointed and rude customer service! My husband got bills twice for his hygiene which were made by their own mistake. They were badly rude to ask for him to prove his bill payment. After proving the original bill which was already paid, there were no apology at all about their mistake or interrupt his busy working day.

I was extremely disappointed with my visit here. I explained to the secretary and dental assistant and the Dentist that I only wanted to have done what my benefits covered. I ended up having a bill for $600 sent to my house. When I called and asked why the bill was so high, I was told that some of the things I had done were not covered under my benefits. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Overall I am happy with the treatment I receive at Toothworks at the Boardwalk. They have been my go-to dentist for the past few years, I started going here to remove my wisdom teeth when I was a student, they offered to perform the procedure while I was awake, which saved me a lot of money before I had my benefits. I have only had a few issues, about a year and a half ago I went in for some severe pain in my right side upper jaw, the dentist (Dr. El-Masri) told me I needed a root canal, which was unfortunate, but I went ahead and booked. When I attended my appointment for the root canal, I saw a different dentist (Dr. Benjameen), who took a look and told me that I definitely did NOT need a root canal, the tooth was fine. I appreciated the honestly, but it made me suspicious of the first dentist - I have not seen Dr. El-Masri since. I now see Dr. Al-Attar and she is fantastic! I see her for my cleanings & periodic exams. I recently visited her again regarding the ongoing pain mentioned above, and she determined that it is likely not related to the tooth at all, and advised me to check with my physician! She is very honest and kind.

Simply amazing! The staff is all highly competent and very knowledgeable. Dr. Mark did an amazing job on my extractions and fillings. He made sure I was comfortable all through the the procedures and explained in detail what would happen before hand, which really helped. The supporting staff is also wonderful. All in all, a 5 star experience. Could not have found a better practice in the area!

First off I would like to say how extremely happy I went there when I had a dental emergency, the staff was so caring and understanding. Dr.Marc and his assistant Hilda were absolutely amazing with me. Dr. Marc does amazing work along side with his assistant Hilda. They both made me feel relaxed and well looked after. They both are a huge asset to Toothworks and I would be lost without them. Thank you both for your continued support, you have had a huge impact on my life and thank you doesn't seem enough for what you have done for me. Toothworks would not be the same without them.

Recently I switched to The Boardwalk Toothworks Dental office due to the location. From my initial contact with them I was impressed with their prompt customer service and flexibility in scheduling an appointment. The receptionist Keristen was great! She was welcoming and engaged in conversation which makes the experience enjoyable. My hygenist was Brittany and it was nice to see a young person who was very experienced. She literally had answers to all my questions and made me feel listened too. At the end of my visit Dr Modi introduced himself even though I was not having a full exam this visit. He was very kind and welcoming and seemed to have a great grasp on customer service. It's so nice to be their patient and I am confident I will be satisfied with my next visit there as well! I had an emergency checkup here as I was not in my city. While taking my X Ray they scratched the floor of my mouth and now I have multiple cuts to the point where I can’t even eat. Absolutely unprofessional. When I asked to send the X Ray to my email and to my actual dentist they didn’t on time. So I had to pay for an X Ray again although that could have been avoided. Staff is helpful and kind but came out more bruised than I went in .

Changing dentists after my first visit here -- everything was difficult in my experience. The front desk staff was not very polite. They were much more worried about speaking with each other than paying attention to the patients. Then my initial appointment was going to take up to 2 hours with lots of waiting in between. Don't walk away from this place -- run!

Sat in dental chair for 15min before exrays taken. Then sat another 15min before brought to another room for full all around scan that took a minute. Back in chair for another 15min when told co op student I feel place was over booked n felt like a burden n would rebook. Getting up when dentist came in, looked at pictures n said to redo some cavities. All together a very frustrating appointment. Place though is very clean. Not sure if was just there at bad time with no fulltime staff but did have appt . My experience but my wife loves place.

Went to the location on the Board Walk about two weeks ago. I just got a new insurance company and wanted a new dentist near my home and I saw the reviews they were good 4.7 so I thought why not check this place out. I go into the place and told the secretary I'm new and I wanted to be a patient here and before I do sign up any forms I wanted to know how much my new insurance company covers me. They told me just fill out the new patient application and they will find out the information. I was reluctant to do it, but I did it since it was close to my house and the reviews were good. After filling out the forms the secretary told me when would I want my appointment, I told her hold up don't you have to find out first how much my insurance covers me? She told me don't worry they will call my insurance and find out the next day and I should just book the appointment. So I was like fine, also they forget to mention if you miss your appointment you get charged fifty dollars I'm glad I asked before I left. Anyways next day I did not receive any call, and the next day almost two weeks go by. So I decided to call and asks what's going on, they apologize and played clueless that they did not know what happened. So the person over the phone asked me if I can send a photo copy of my insurance and I asked why? They had all my information I filled out like three forms. What I forgot to mention they had like 3 secretary you think one would follow up with my insurance. Long story short she apologize were I was like okay I give you guys one more chance to make it right. I was told I would be called this Monday and behold as you can guess its been 5 days did not receive any calls/text/voice mail or email. I also did mentioned to the person over the phone if I am busy just leave me a message on voice mail and she said can I email me, I'm like that's fine. Yet I didn't receive any of the acknowledgement that I wrote above. After calling them again just to cancel my account the lady over the phone did not even bothered to ask me why, thats great customer service I guess for you. I could of called my insurance company however it was principal that I didn't because they made me fill out the forms and booked my appointment with false hope that they would. So finial thoughts don't base it all on the high reviews. I can't wait until the owner comes up with some generic reply.
