Absolutely blown away by this clinic! Would highly recommend for routine dental or cosmetic work. I recently completed my Invisalign treatment at this clinic and am so happy with the final results. I also had a few small chips on my front teeth that they also were able to fix for me. Literally the day after I had finished the treatment I had multiple people complement me on my smile who didn’t even know that I was doing Invisalign. Getting my teeth straightened was always something I considered, but never prioritized. My only regret of this entire experience is that I didn’t do it earlier. There are many options for straightening your teeth these days, but these our my reasons why I would recommend this clinic over other options: 1. The staff are incredible. They are very professional, but what blows me always is how incredibly friendly and welcoming they are. The entire experience felt more like going to a spa than the dentist. 2. Halfway through my treatment my teeth were looking great, but they took time the time to look at my bite and determined that it wasn’t ideal. They promptly intervened and took actions to correct it. Now I’m happy with my smile and bite! I was also considering smile direct, but reflecting on this I am so happy I didn’t because they would have never been able to catch this and take the actions to correct it. 3. They use accelerated orthodontics so my entire treatment only took about 9 months! All other options I were considering I was quoted 1-2 years.

I was a patient of Dr. Lalani about 15 years ago. I thought she was great but didn't realize to what extent until I moved to California for 13 years. A Beverly Hills dentist who specializes in cosmetic dentistry commented that the work done by Dr. Lalani on my teeth (veneers to repair a childhood injury) over 10 years earlier was the best he'd ever seen. When I returned to BC, I decided that the hour long drive to reach Yaletown Dentistry was worth it. The clinic has grown since I left but here's what is the same -- the staff go out of their way to be helpful, the modern equipment means that cleanings are far more pleasant, and the check-ups are more thorough than any of the other dentist clinics I've been to. Dr. Lalani now specializes and doesn't do the same types of appointments as she did then, so she put me in the capable hands of Dr. Lum. Like Dr. Lalani, I have found that Dr. Lum is incredibly thorough, skilled and kind. When I think about the many dentist offices I've visited over the years, Yaletown Dentistry is in an entirely different league than all of the others. This is what happens when a clinic invests in the best equipment so that they can do the best for their patients, and where the staff seem to genuinely love what they do.

Dr. Jang is excellent - careful and thorough, making sure my new fillings were done as perfectly as possible. I'm terrified of needles but she did it as painlessly as possible. The clinic responded quickly to my concern about sensitivity after my procedure and brought me in for a complimentary check up and filling reshaping. My only small suggestion would be to the assistant to improve on suction techniques throughout the visits but in my last clinic I was definitely spoiled by the best most experienced assistant ever. Also I would like to learn more about ways to avoid clenching at night and not be pushed so heavily into getting a night guard which is a quick permanent bandaid and is easy $$ for them. UPDATE: It's been over 7 months since I got my fillings "fixed" at this clinic and my teeth are still sensitive. In my entire life I've NEVER had this experience before, even when I got a huge filling on a back molar that some dentists suggested I needed a root canal on. On some days even eating pasta hurts, forget about anything hard and crunchy. Some days I would cry from the pain and frustration. I miss being able to chew normally on both sides of my mouth and eat without worrying and being careful with each bite. They kept telling me I needed to come back to redo the other side of my mouth but I wanted to wait until I had full use of this side.... and it hasn't happened yet. When will it happen?? Who knows, they sure don't! I had asked how long it takes before the sensitivity subsides and they kept telling me it's different with everyone and that it simply takes a "long time". I bet I didn't even need this work done in the first place, and I'm definitely not going back to get more teeth "fixed". It's just a way to make more money, along with the constant push to get a night guard. Dentists are businesses at the end of the day like everything else.

Dr Lalani is very good at what she does and very kind and patient. I was very nervous to go a dentist but my experience at Yaletown dentistry has changed all that. Wow! What a cool dental experience! This was my first visit and I’m very happy with my first impression. Front staff is friendly, professional & helpful. Waiting room is spacious and comfortable. The technology in the dental offices is so advanced and therefore helpful for your dental goals. All my questions & concerns were addressed &/or answered by Dr. Lalani & Michelle; they were extremely intelligent, warm, knowledgeable and made me feel understood. What is “extra” in another dentist office appears to be the standard here. They appear to give lots of extra support for their patients needs & wants. Space was extremely clean, mostly open concept, TVs in the ceiling. Parking is scarce but that’s to be expected in Yaletown. There is a skytrain station less than half a block away. I’m excited to go back!! (Who says that about a dentist?!)

**EDIT** I changed my score from 1 star to 4 star to reflect the customer service I've received since then. They contacted me since offering to open up early on a Tuesday at 7am to provide me with an appointment. Which is an incredible customer service, unfortunately it was too late as I've already booked an appointment at a dentist elsewhere. Very impressed with their resolution to this problem, and my partner did have an appointment with them and said that they're fantastic and was particularly impressed with the hygienist. **ORIGINAL** Had an initial appointment, xray and clean today at 7am. Turned up and they informed me that I canceled my appointment yesterday and rescheduled to next Thursday at 9am. Obviously wasn't me and it wasn't my partner as I work 9-6 so I wouldn't reschedule to that time. I've got a pretty unique surname, so I simple name check over the phone would have prevented this from happening. They didn't really convey their apologies sincerely and the receptionist just wanted to blame the other receptionist. Seemed really unprofessional to me and a huge waste of my time. Shame as it seems other people have had good experiences here. The other side of this is the person who called and believes they've canceled their appointment hasn't and there's going to be some confusion when someone else turns up at Thursday at 9am who isn't me.

Shaireen is awesome, Shana is bad, many of the staff are great. After many years here I switched... Shana Lum was my regular dentist, Shana makes me feel like a wallet, not a patient. I moved over from Victoria years ago, I saw a great dentist there regularly. My first visit with Shana, she looked at the x-rays and immediately recommended SIX fillings be replaced. I thought that was strange but she's the doctor. A few months later I recommended a friend, also moved from Victoria, and she immediately recommended SIX fillings be replaced for him as well. I had ONE cracked filling in December, the first words were very excited "We need to replace all SIX, let's make a plan and book it!" I've since moved to Dr. Cheung at Dentist @ False Creek and super happy! He replaced the one that needed to be, filled in a gap Shana left and explained the situations with the other 5 and that only one of them needs to be watched but 4 are still in great shape. NOTE: DR. Shaireen LALANI IS AWESOME, Shaireen did my Invisalign and I was super happy with her, super friendly, gentle and really good! I recommended my wife see Shaireen and she was very happy with her as well. Phil, Janet and many of the staff are great. It was unfortunate to leave but if I can't trust my Doctor is making the best recommendations for me I won't stay.

Please, save your money, mind and the environment. I have been continuously told misleading information to lure me into treatment and no longer believe anything I am being told. When I was told that I really need to do this to stop my teeth from breaking, I expressed strong misgiving about the permanency of trying to straighten the teeth since I have a sister who has been doing this (and never stopped) since she was 10. She is 48 now. I was assured that the process takes about a year and then just needs 1 a week maintenance with retainers. That turned into 3 years of rigorous retainer wearing before the once a week routine can be adopted. And I was congratulated on being finished before being told this! The amount of plastic waste created by this process is also not insignificant. Your gums will be irritated most of the time since cleaning the retainers from scale build up is really difficult. Just don't start...

Amid increasing Covid-19 numbers and restrictions, my dental care providers have provided a safe-as-can-be environment that is just as friendly and attuned as before the pandemic. Special shout-out to Billie, who did my cleaning today. So gentle and caring! Update August 11, 2021 - I wrote this a while back and the same still holds, and that's after getting a filling redone two hours ago! Care and consideration for the client is #1 at Yaletown Dentistry. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. ------- I have been a client of Yaletown Dentistry for about 14 years. I found them on a walk in my neighbourhood, and although I've since moved, I wouldn't think of going to anyone else. Dr. Lalani and company do their best to make their clients feel calm and relaxed, such that the experience of "going to the dentist" isn't the horror that it once was (and I'm a veteran of orthodonture so I've known horror). Yes, I felt like I'd walked into a swank nightclub on my first appointment -- and I certainly feel pampered every time I dry my hands with an individual towelette in the bathroom -- but, it's this same willingness to be different and innovative that permeates the practice in critical areas of service and dental technology. My partner is averse to change and likes things the way they are -- at least when it comes to dentistry -- and continues to go to a conventional practice that delivers the same old standard, in my opinion. Her mouth guard looks like a hockey puck and mine is a streamlined, practically invisible piece of art that clips into place easily without all the fuss of pre-soaking. She's been trying to convince her dentist to give her one like mine, but they say they have no clue what she's talking about. I can appreciate that some people might be wary of a practice that in every way, seems different from what they are used to, but I have experienced nothing but the best care and service at Yaletown Dentistry. I am always treated with respect, and given every opportunity to ensure that I am comfortable and at ease. Furthermore, since being more financially constrained in the last couple of years, I have found the staff to be very considerate and proactive about enquiring about coverage through my insurance plan. Lastly, I just want to send a shout-out to the best dental hygienist in the world: Ramona, you rock!

Imagine this, you pay some decent cash ($295) for a FULL cleaning and xray, but the person cleaning your teeth is new to the office and doesn't finish on time... So you are told you have to reschedule and you need to pay more when you come back ($100-200 range). Seem like good customer service? Thats what happened to my wife, she has never had this problem before at another clinic. It was her first time here, we don't plan on coming back.

Don't come here for anything complicated! This place is only good for cleaning, whitening and Invisalign. I had a really bad experience with Yaletown Dentistry since I had a more complex tooth problem due to a complication of a tooth extraction from a previous dentist. For three years I had pain and infections in my molar and these dentists didn't send me for the proper scans and they didn't follow up to help fix my situation. They spend the smallest amount of time possible with their patients and from my experience they unfortunately see their clients as dollar signs and not people in need of medical help. Even when I was in pain and in need of tooth surgery they had their (non-dentist) staff instruct me that the solution was Invisalign, even though my teeth are perfectly straight due to having braces when I was young! After three years of pain I went to a different dental clinic who right away analyzed the 3D scans that were required to properly diagnose my problem and got me to a surgeon. I am sad I didn't go to a different dentist earlier. Beware!

I haven’t gone to yaletown dentistry in a couple years now for good reason. Each time I went, I was told that I have several cavities. I was also shown a picture of what I was told was the inner back side of my molars which were a brownish yellow colour by the dentist. I went to see two separate dentists after that and they both informed me that I had no cavities and it was as well confirmed that my molars were white. I’m not sure whose picture your dentist showed me that day, but she did try to sell me on a teeth whitening kit shortly thereafter. I would never go back to this dental office again. Nor would I in good conscience be able to recommend any one to ever go there. This dental office has no regard for an individual’s best health interests and is just concerned with making as much money as possible. Couldn't agree more with Brian Dubois's review. Also, not much integrity deleting past reviews on google that were consistent with what I'm saying. There are a few reviews left on yelp though.

Over-charged for appointment. Highly recommend not going to this practice. There are hundreds of dental practices downtown Vancouver - I highly recommend checking out others before you have to pay a premium for subpar service. The Yaletown Dentistry also broke client-confidentiality by releasing personal information about my visit on the internet without consent.

You won't be taking any chances with your teeth at this professionally run dentist's practice.
