Came in for two wisdom teeth extractions this morning, and both Dr. Taheri and the staff were so friendly and understanding of my anxiety over the procedure. The process took less than 45mins, and I watched TV the entire time. They also gave me two sheets complete with all the information post-extraction and they answered all my questions. He suggested it would be better (in my case specifically) if i saw an Ortho doctor that works closely with a oral surgeon and referred me to another Ortho who did exactly that. The dentist was fine, but I will be switching because of their unwelcoming front of house employees.

I was enquiring about my implant procedure and the prescriptions on the phone and I felt nothing but rushed off the phone with one of their staff member, Trudy. She is not kind, patience or caring. Obviously they don't care about the patient's health on a expensive procedure. Take your business elsewhere.

Greeted with a smile everytime I come in and all the staff have been so wonderful. Direct billing was one of the reasons I decided to come here and the staff is the reason I will continue to come back. I've avoided the dentist for over 10 years out of fear and procrastination but finally decided it was time. No cavities but I did need to get a Root canal done. Came in really nervous and it went very smoothly. Took about a half an hour which totally surprised me. Didn't feel a thing. The numbing cream on my gums didn't make me feel the needle and then it was easy sailing. Built up the dentist to be this big scary place and Downtown Dental totally put my mind at ease. Will now continue to take care of my teeth knowing I'm in excellent hands. Thank you to all the staff ????

Let me begin by saying that I rarely write reviews and that happens only in 2 situations: 1. When the service is exceptionally good and I want the community to benefit from it. 2. When the service is awful and I want to make the community aware of it. Needless to say DT Dental did a great job. Right from the receptionist greeting u and making you feel welcomed, to the person who calms you down and prepares you for the procedure, u feel taken care of. Dr. Taheri did a great job with my extraction and I felt I could trust him. We all have heard bad stories abt how dentists sells you on things to make that extra money and that was one of my biggest fear as well while going for a procedure. On that note, I have to tell that I have been planning this extraction for years but I was not able to find a dentist I can trust. My first appnt at DT dental was almost 2.5 yrs back and Dr. Taheri proposed I get all my 4 wisdom teeth removed to avoid decay. I was sceptical but I have to mention that not once in these 2.5 yrs they called me and sold me on this idea of extraction. I felt I was given ample space and time and that helped to build trust. I have seen a close friend getting calls from her dentist now and then to book an appointment for this and that and she is literally fed up. I can now proudly refer her here so she can be in good hands as well. Tldr; really happy to find a dentist I can trust and rely on. Thank u everyone working at DT Dental for doing such a great job and giving the society a gift of great smile. all I wish u success and happiness in all your future deeds.

First of all, front desk staff are great. Trudy has been a five star presence from day one. I have been going to downtown dental for 15 years and have never had them be anything but superlative- friendly and accommodating. Raj, the hygienist is amazing, utterly top notch. However the last hygienist I had was condescending (even chastising! total no no in any customer service oriented environment..) and she was nowhere near as experienced. Dr. Esposito is wonderful, gentle, proficient - not to mention courteous and warm. Dr. Taheri is less progressive and feels far less engaged. Interactions with him are a rude shock after years of pleasant visits with Dr. Drance and Dr. Esposito. ( BTW, I highly recommend the night guards provided by Downtown Dental- they are small and comfortable - leagues above the cumbersome night guards of the past...)

I feel very fortunate to have discovered Downtown Dental. The dentists and hygienists give excellent care and always check to see that I am kept comfortable. I love the large TVs on the ceiling and the headphones that I wear during a treatment to help reduce any anxiety. In addition to my regular checkups, I have received whitening treatments and have had personalized nightguards made for my teeth. Their office is modern, bright and very comfortable. The front office staff are always friendly and courteous. They like to get to know their patients and have successfully guided me through several changes of employers / extended benefit plans. Even though I now work and live outside the West End, I am more than happy to go to Downtown Dental for my dental visits and would recommend them to anyone who wants excellent care in a warm and inviting environment.

Today, I had my first appointment with Downtown Dental. I moved from Ontario to Vancouver three months ago. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff. On the professional side, Dr. M Esposito diagnosed on my first visit a hidden infection via X-ray underneath one of my teeth which I didn't notice for a long time. He is indeed very competent. Throughout the appointment, all staff members involved performed their duties to a high standard. I highly recommend this clinic to every one.

Dr Esposito is great, and so is Raj (hygienist). Today Dr Esposito was assisted by a dental assistant who I do not recall seeing before. I found her to be rough, inattentive to patient’s comfort and generally unprofessional. She made an incorrect follow up appointment for me, which the Receptionist had to correct. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they didn’t seem surprised, so this suggests that I am not the only patient who has had a similar experience with this dental assistant. That’s unfortunate because everyone else at the clinic is so professional

I recently switched from Dr. Esposito's office at Granville Dental Station to his practice on Alberni Street (Downtown Dental). Downtown Dental provides exceptional customer service and dental care. My cleaning with Raj was (by far) the easiest I've ever experienced, with no pain of any kind whatsoever. He was endlessly patient with my anxiety over the process, and I can't thank him enough for this. Very professional. This location has a significantly more relaxed environment - it's much quieter, with a less hectic 'clinic-like' vibe. The front staff are welcoming and well-organized. Dr. Esposito remains the best dentist in Vancouver, wherever he happens to practice. Most highly recommended, especially for the nervous client!!

I didn't need to worry as everyone at Downtown Dental made me feel welcome, comfortable and confident that the treatment I was going to have would be a good experience (if that is possible at the dentist!). Poor customer service. In particular, Trudy, who was very rude and forceful over the phone and began calling from withheld numbers to chase payment (which they miscalculated in the first place). I tried to make a complaint about this but was told 'I am unsure who you can make a complaint to besides the office manager. That would be trudy.' I had a root canal and a filling as well as my original first patient exam. The whole process was disorganized, upsetting (due to Trudy) and rushed. The day after my treatment, I had to attend the dental practice again as the DR had slightly chipped one of my front teeth. this was corrected free of charge. I also had to attend again for a bite adjustment, again, free of charge. My partner, Sofie Calvert, also attended Downtown Dental and found Trudy rude at times. There were also issues with her treatment. Two wisdom teeth were taken out and she requested an X-ray 6 months later on the right hand side due to pain. It was found the root was still present and had to be removed. Last week, X rays on the left hand side this time showed the root was also still present. Overall, a very poor experience and I recommend going elsewhere. I must also point out I had no issue with the dental assistant and hygienist who did an excellent job.

We're tourists from Germany on vacation in Canada. Today, we went to Downtown Dental to ask for an emergency extraction of two teeth from our 10 year old son. The staff was absolutely friendly, helpful and sensitive with our son, who's terribly afraid of dentists. It took about 15 minutes (and some tears and good words) all in all to extract both teeth. Afterwards, he was asked to choose some gifts from a box, while I wanted to pay for the medical treatment. To my astonishment, the treatment was free of charge for us. I can really recommend this dentist - and that's not because we didn't had to pay, but because of so much empathy, friendliness, professionalism and sensitivity towards children. Well done, team! Thank you so much! --- Wir sind Touristen aus Deutschland im Urlaub in Kanada. Heute sind wir bei Downtown Dental gewesen, um notfallmäßig zwei Zähne unseres 10-jährigen Sohnes ziehen zu lassen. Das Personal war absolut freundlich, hilfsbereit und einfühlsam mit unserem Sohn, der schreckliche Angst vor Zahnärzten hat. Alles in allem dauerte es ungefähr 15 Minuten (und ein paar Tränen und gute Worte), um beide Zähne zu extrahieren. Danach wurde er gebeten, einige Geschenke aus einer Kiste auszuwählen, während ich für die medizinische Behandlung bezahlen wollte. Zu meinem Erstaunen war die Behandlung für uns kostenlos. Ich kann diesen Zahnarzt wirklich empfehlen - und das nicht, weil wir nicht zahlen mussten, sondern weil wir so viel Einfühlungsvermögen, Freundlichkeit, Professionalität und Sensibilität für Kinder kennengelernt haben. Today I went in for my usual cleaning/check up, at the end of the session I went to the front to give my information/benefits to cover the visit. My benefit coverage had apparently changed since my last visit, and the visit was not covered. They covered the visit anyways. Excellent service. I would reccomd this place to anybody.

I am very annoyed that I was conned into getting treatment I did not expect to be at an extra cost. Specifically: Pat exam. I asked if this was part of the treatment I was signed up for and told yes. I thought the Fluoride treatment was also included as part of the scaling. In summary , my costs were about 50% higher than anticipated. I expected better from you.
