Looking for a new dentist. Called to make an appointment. Very frustrating. Found that person does not listen and just hears what she wants to hear. Took wayyyy too long to make and appointment and then received a voicemail discussing a different start time which I had repeatedly said didn't work for me.

I called Altima to see if I could book an appointment for an issue I had. They were willing to see me the same day; but I had requested the next, and so they were able to accommodate my requested. When I arrived the registration was simple and the staff very friendly. I saw Dr. Lee and she was able to correct my problem, so much so that the next day I was back to normal :) Thank You!

My pearly whites have never been this happy. The hygienist's touch as gentle as they come. The receptionists will offer to call your insurance and get a breakdown. Any extra procedure that may not be covered is discussed. The dentist explains every little step and she speaks french, which is a huge bonus seeing as I am here on contract from France. Very happy! As mentioned by another reviewer, Dr. Louafi gives the best injections. I have found her to be knowledgeable, highly skilled and forthcoming, even when some news is less than ideal. I actually loathe going to the dentist (like most people, it's definitely not my favourite thing to do) but I am so glad I chose Altima Scotia Plaza; the experience was always painless and enjoyable! Specifically, I saw Dr. Mark Rykiss for orthodontic treatment to fix a slight crowding issue with my upper teeth. Wonderful staff! I have had 3 fillings and one crown done over the last 2 and half years and I have not experienced any pain. The front desk is quick to answer questions, follow-up with insurance and will happily send pre-determinations prior to procedures to confirm coverage. I love getting my cleanings every 4 months and the dentist will always tell me the more I see my hygienist, the less need for dental interventions. Great conservative approach!

I do not recommend anyone to go there to get any type of difficult procedures done there. I was in a lot of pain looking to get wisdom teeth removed. The initial experience was great with the dentist and the x-ray. I provided them with my insurance. They re-sent the request twice and could not get it right. I had to call the office back twice to tell them what they were doing wrong. Then they quoted a price that was ridicules and could not explain to me why I was required to pay that much. Even to call to cancel an appointment , they could not do that properly. All in all, very disorganized and they do not know how to send claims properly. They were clearly ripping me off with this procedure. I ended up getting a 2nd opinion elsewhere who know what they are talking about.

When I came to Altima dental for the first time after my previous dentist refused to treat me anymore due to my anxiety and gag reflex problems. I had a bunch of cavities, decay and the big chip in my tooth and was very embarrassed about them. I was terrified but Dr Louafi was so patient calm and gentle I now have a smile I love showing off - and dental appointments are now completely anxiety and stress free. So I have been going to this Clinic for about 7 years. Dr. Hamida Louaf is Very good. They are thorough and don’t try to push things you don’t need. She also does a great job of explaining why something needs to be done and the importance of good dental habits. I floss a lot more often now because of her. Their dental hygienist is very friendly (sorry the one who worked Monday afternoon I wish I could remember her name), personable and great at her job, my teeth felt great afterwards and no plaque! Their prices are reasonable too for anyone who doesn’t have insurance. However my only complaint (I wouldn’t have even mentioned it had I not been promted for a google review instead of getting the receipt I originally requested.) Their recorded keeping seems lacking based on my visit on Monday. There were 3 mistakes I documented between the start and finish of my appointment. The first was they asked me if I brought my mouthgard.... I said “I have never had a mouth guard” 2: At the end when I asked for a printed receipt I was told they would email it to me. I asked if you had it on file as I didn’t recall ever giving it out. They checked And replied “oh, we don’t have it on file.” Good thing I asked instead of assuming you have it on file. So I gave it and they said it would be emailed to me. 3. Well it’s 2 days later and it still has not been sent. I checked my junk mail too. I have been bombarded with advertisements but not the receipt My Email was only given so you would email my receipt! It’s frustrating but I look forward to to my next visit. ... please email my receipt! :)

I hate dental pain but I love my dentist. Dr. Louafi will fix it and hygienist Denniz Kapllani will make it all clean. Modern dentistry is a complex, technical field and these people are very good at it. That gets them 4 stars. The 5th star is for being nice to each other and caring about their patients. The longer I go here the lower my dental stress reaction gets.

I would not recommend this clinic. Admin staff that can't submit basic insurance claims a single time after being a patient for two years. The last straw was when they billed my credit card instead of the two dental plans they had on file. The hygienist was pleasant, but unfortunately I saw a dentist for a total of about 7 minutes in my entire time there as a patient, yet they ordered and billed for xrays. After switching clinics, 3 weeks after my final visit which also happened to include x rays, I had a very obvious cavity which had been causing me discomfort that my new dentist found immediately. Note, this specific clinic was on the CBC Marketplace episode from Oct.2012

The minute I walk in I’m always greeted with a big smile from Teresa & Manar. They’re such nice lady’s that help with booking/rescheduling appointments and always answer my emails. They also help with break downs and making sure I’m always covered. Dr. Louafi & Deniz (assistant) are a great pair they both always make me feel like I’m just laying down at home. Deniz my hygienist is honestly the nicest lady I have met. She’s so caring at my teeth cleaning and a great person to chat to. Thank you all for always giving me such a great experience.
