I have always had bad teeth and when I showed up to his office i was in excruciating pain, I could barley talk, I couldn't eat anything other then soup and sleep was non existence I was basically ready to rip out my own teeth... He not only has saved mupilty teeth, teeth i had thought i would be losing but he helped me threw the anxiety I experience when visiting a dentist. Any problems or concerns ive ever had well going threw fixing them all has never been an issuse even things i was just paranoid about. He figured out which tooth was the problem immediately and actually explained what and why it was happening. Root canal was a nightmare for me before going to Dr.Ali. Now, I would say that really changed my mind about that scary procedure. I like the moral value which lets the client come as soon as possible because of pain that makes him/her frustrated. I had a lingual wire placed on my top front teeth by another dentist. The bonding had come loose and the wire and bonding was cutting my tongue. The dentist who did the work was not able to take me in and fix it being the Friday before a long weekend. I called several places and all were saying no one was in to do work on the Friday of a long weekend. EXCEPT 123 Dental. I sent them an email and right away they called me back, got my details and booked me in for 4pm. I was received into a warm office with warm welcoming staff and the dentist fixed the bonding in under ten minutes. I was nearly in tears as I hadn't been able to eat properly for days and the kindness they showed and their ability to take me in last minute made a lasting impression - to the point where I have now transferred over to their office as a regular patient of theirs! Thank you 123 Dental!!

DO NOT TRUST! I found Dr. Tavakoli through opencare and because of his reviews I decided to get an appointment with him. I have full coverage for my dental and this was the first time I wanted to use it. I went there for cleaning and Dr convinced me to do an exam. I was there for less than 90 min and I got charged more than $1200. There are charges on my bill that doesn't make sense and I feel they took advantage of me since I had full coverage up to $2000. Just an example: There is a charge of $46 charge for "individual hygiene instruction"! At some point, someone explained to me you hot to brush and floss which was always a part of my cleaning procedure but I didn't know I was going to be charged for it. AND THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE! I feel they were dishonest and there are some many small charges for small things that If I knew about I wouldn't agree. He told me I need to fill three teeth and since it is a minor thing, he can do it in 15 mins, and it doesn't even need anesthetic. I got charge $220 for each tooth! I wonder how much it would have cost if it needed anesthetic and it was actually deeper! (I found a groupon for filling price of $29 for this office!)

~ over the years I've been to one bad dentist to the next w/multiple horrible experiences.(no exaggeration ). From the first day walking into 123 dental, I knew was in great hands. My bad experiences had hindered me to make regular appointments. ( If any until needed) I walked into 123Dental with teeth pain molar issues..impacted teeth ...over crowding and was due for a good cleaning. (Did I mention I smoke). Dr. Ali has done wonders, always opting for tooth restoration when I believe the tooth was unsavable. Where I use to be gripping the dental chair for dear life with pain I'm at ease with his gentle care. He and Eveline are a great team. My mouth has never been so cared for.. I've recommended 123Dental to my partner and two close friends all equally satisfied with services recieved. The rooms are very clean. Great decor. I get lost in the paintings and calming background music, you know your in good hands.. like a tooth spa vs a dental office. Scheduling visits and oral care plans are great; they work with your insurance company to make sure the work is covered. Before I had coverage the prices we reasonable and I was never overcharged or was recommend services not needed. Having A good Dental clinic prompted me to purchase a good plan so I could come regularly.

I've had a strong distaste for the dentist for years. 123 Dental, however, was the most pleasant dental experience I've had in probably a decade. The waiting time was minimal before I was seen, Dr. Tavakoli did 90% of the work which meant less pain and a more sound hand. He was charming, funny, and put me at ease. He walked me through my x-rays and gave me a clear and fullsome explanation one at a time - he wasn't rushing to get me out and another patient in the chair. Even so, it was only approx 1 hour from entering to leaving. Its refreshing to meet another professional who understands the value of his time as well as mine. When I was reading the prior reviews, I was skeptical since there were so many 5 stars, but now I see why. There is one caveat, you pay more for this level of service. My bill was 25% more than I usually pay but I did lapse a full 14 months. Also, it was *all* covered as a regular checkup and cleaning (no outstanding charges) by Empire Life and approved immediately. Keep in mind, that is also the cost of doing business and running an office in a convenient location so close to St. Patrick Station. I'll be back in 6months for sure . TL;DR: Great place but check your coverage first.

I had very pleasant experience coming to this office for the first time. I did not have to wait and the office staff was very organized. Dr. Tavakoli x-rayed my entire mouth and clearly explained the results. I was having some on and off again toothache pain; Dr. Tavakoli explained the problem was likely due to a wisdom tooth. The extraction procedure was explained thoroughly and done that same day. I also had my teeth cleaned and everything was done very smoothly and without issue. I will be coming to this dentist for all my future dental needs and I definitely recommend this dentist to others.

Dr. Ali Tavakoli is possibly one of the best dentists I have met. He goes out of his way to make patients feel exceptional. I contacted him on a Saturday night for an emergency root canal for my girlfriend who was in pain. He immediately schedules the procedure for Monday morning, completes it perfectly in an hour, and continues to follow up with questions and concerns. The kindness we've received here is unparalleled. Truly an easy recommendation to make!

I was a little nervous to find caring dentist for my son because he had some less than great experience with other dentist in the past. Dr. Ali turned out to be fantastic. He answered every question we had and has been very accommodating and easy to work with. Had my first appointment with Dr. Ali Tavakoli last Friday for a root canal and had a great experience. Dr. Tavakoli specializes in root canal so I knew I was in great hands. The procedure took less than an hour and I healed very quickly. It's hard to find a dentist in the city that is able to do such procedure (you are typically referred to a root canal specialist). His staff was great in making sure I don't have a lot of paperwork to complete for my insurance - they took care of all my claims for me. They were very transparent about the cost and I'm very happy with my experience and results. After one visit, I found my new family dentist! I already have another appointment next week for a restoration and I know Dr. Tavakoli and his team will take care of me.

Going to the dentist is never fun, but I had a great experience during my first visit today. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The doctor was able to fill up my cavities on the spot without me having to make a second appointment, and the hygienist did a great job cleaning my teeth. I was at the clinic for 2.5hrs and I was attended to for most of the time with very little waiting, and my many questions were also answered patiently, in detail. To top it all, my mind was blown when I was asked whether I wanted melon, caramel, or bubblegum flavored fluoride for my final polish! I got the bubblegum and I was very satisfied. I’m actually looking forward to my next visit. Thanks team for being so accommodating!

I was referred to this clinic and dr Ali performed an endodontic re treatment (changing the filling materials) because my tooth was in pain. After 6 months my tooth was in pain again and I came back to dr Ali and he decided to perform a 3rd root canal because he said I had a second nerve that needed to be extracted. He tried very hard, for a long time and it was not successful, as a result my tooth had to be extracted and now I need an implant. I did not trust dr Ali and decided to go for a second and third opinion with top specialists in Toronto. I found that Dr Ali should have never attempted to reach the second nerve by himself as this is a very complicated surgery that can only be done by a root canal specialist. Dr Ali basically created a whole in my gum when doing this and now as a result I not only need an implant , but a bone graft surgery that is going to cost me a lot. Never go to this clinic if you love your teeth

I just had my first appointment at 123 Dental. The staff were courteous and quick. Elvine noticed the x-rays were getting uncomfortable, and started letting me know how many more were left. Dr. Tavakoli looked at the x-rays WITH me, and taught me what to look for which was a pleasant surprise. He did the cleaning and polishing himself very efficiently. I had three tiny cavities which he and Elvine filled in no time. They're clearly a very practiced team. I'll definitely be back in six months time.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Dr. Ali is very knowledgeable and extremely skilled. I had seen two other dentist to remove a very badly broken tooth and neither of which were able to freeze me nor remove the tooth. After 1-1/2 years of agony and pain, I came to Dr. Ali and within half an hour I was completely frozen and the impossible tooth to remove was completely out. He is a miracle worker. Now, I actually look forward to going to the dentist (never thought I'd say that). Thank you Dr. Ali and your kind and pleasant staff.

I am so glad to find 0123Dental by chance through Google. Dr. Tavakoli (Ali) was so kind and polite who explained all the process and different options could be followed my treatment that was so helpful because I am a student and not so flexible about the cost. Besides, the location is so great in the heart of downtown and is accessible easily. To celebrate the completion of my final year in law school I decide to treat myself to getting my teeth straightened with Invisalign - something I’ve wanted to do my whole life. Scouring the net for deals I stumbled upon a Groupon for 123Dental. I was quite shocked at what I saw. It reads as a desperate (not to mention unethical) attempt to capitalize in the short term. I find it egregious that a medical professional was offering $25 kickbacks to potential patients if they were to refer their friends. I would need to polish up on my knowledge of medical regulations in Ontario, but something tells me that such marketing practices run contrary to several laws. Beyond that, does this mean if I were to purchase the Groupon I would automatically receive this massive discount - while having to pay double the price if I did not? This deal smells fishy. Then comes the more global question of - if Groupon is paying for my dentistry, than who should be held liable for the outcome of my treatment? I am saddened to know that we don't see more moral outrage - a truly sad day for healthcare. Stay away.

Had a terrible experience. First time going there, the dentist told me I had three cavities when I just wanted to get my regular teeth cleaning. I have never had any cavities in my life. So I was skeptical that I had developed three in the last 6 months of when I saw the dentist last. When I went back to my regular dentist, he had taken xrays and gave a second opinion. To my surprise, he confirmed I did not have a single cavity. I realized what a scam Dr. Ali is. They also let me leave the clinic with toothpaste on my face. What kind of dentist would offer referral and Groupon deals except ones who do not have regular patients enough to sustain their business. Unprofessional and would not recommend.

I came to this dentist due to all the amazing reviews and was very disappointed. First of all, this office took a multitude of x-rays before the dentist even examined my teeth. I personally didn't like this but some might be okay with it. I can't speak much for the dentist since I barely got to see him, but I also wasn't impressed with the cleaning I had. I just googled 123 dental to give the contact/address to a friend and wanted to share my excellent experience with Dr.Tavakoli and 123 dental. I’ve been there couple of times for cleaning, wisdom tooth extraction and cavities. At every visit I was explained everything by Dr.tavakoli him self and also by staff. Everyone’s very professional and Great at what they do, they value your time and charge very fairly for exceptional service. Dr.Tavakoli takes away the dryness of most dentists and doctors with his sense of humor and positive attitude, which I’ve rarely seen recently from other doctors/dentists. I’ve recommended them to couple of friends and no doubt will recommend them to anyone who’s looking for a dentist.

Dr. Tavakoli and his staff are great! I went into my appointment expressing concerns from a previous, painful dentist experience and he reassured me that this would be a much better experience. Dr. Tavakoli is not only a kind, humble, and professional dentist but he also tries to lighten the mood with a bit of humour. This is a great distraction and makes for a comforting environment (no one likes being at the dentist). The staff are very welcoming and professional. Solmaz checked my benefits coverage at the beginning of my appointment and Dr. Tavakoli confirmed my coverage again with her before my procedure so that there would be no surprises when it came time for billing/payment. I will definitely be returning to Dr. Tavakoli, I can’t refer him as a dentist enough!

I went to 123Dental originally to get aligners. My teeth had significantly shifted back after having braces in middle school because I hadn't worn my retainer consistently. The team here offered me an affordable option and after a year and some change my teeth are straight and even better than before. Everyone here is very nice and they always go out of their way to accommodate appointments as well as communicate information quickly. I'm done with my aligners but will be using Dr. Tavakoli as my regular dentist going forward. Highly recommend.

First class treatment. You notice something is different when you walk in. It's an air of civilization--attractive decor, a polite person at the front desk, quiet music (not the radio, not silence), an un-rushed pace (but without annoying waiting time). You are graciously seated in the chair and meet Dr. Tavakoli. I'm glad to say he was educated at U of T (which is across the street, and where he told me he now teaches part-time). You instantly perceive that he intends to treat you with respect, friendliness, and humanity. He puts no distance between you and is perfectly ready to listen and to answer with care, respect, and patience. (But without any trace of faux-polite kissing up to you. He respects you and himself both.) The procedure I underwent was surprisingly quick and completely painless. I'm sure this was not lucky but a result of skill, intelligence, training, compassion, and talent. There's more, but I'll leave it at that. Maybe I've already made this approach unbelievability and made it sound like an ad (probably because of writing experience). But no, he fixed my molar today and I'm just really relieved and happy. Excellent guy, excellent work, great office, and I say this as an admittedly critical person.

Dr. Tavaloki is very well educated in all aspects of dentistry and it shows. He has a very honest and professional approach. Other dentists oversell products and services that are not needed. I went there about to have cleaning and some check up but unfortunately I didnt do. Because the price is little bit higher about 15 to20% more than others. I dont know why they charge more. Perhaps there is a reason but I wouldn't pay more if there is cheaper one. So if you decide it to go, make sure you know you pay more.

Terrible experience, was overcharged for the work I received and was given a cleaning/ polishing by the dentist in 19 minutes!! STUDENT beware false advertising on their website, Ryerson University students DO NOT get a fully subsidized check-up and teeth cleaning with their active school dental insurance plan. When asked about why I was overcharged front desk did not have an excuse and was not helpful. Very disappointed with the cleaning I got and the service I received. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND going here, if you do make sure to check your bill to ensure they are billing the correct amount.

Dr. Tavakoli did a great job at calming down, we discussed the situation and then we proceed and took care of the chipped tooth. I have been visiting their office for past few months due to deep cavities which were causing occasional pain and sensitivity. I was worried that I might be recommended root canal treatment for couple of those. However, Dr. Ali proposed filling in the cavities and doing root canal treatment only if this doesn't solve the problem. His treatment has been extremely effective in resolving my tooth problems. He is also very patient while doing the treatment and addresses any questions or concerns one might have. I'd also like to call out the very courteous and cooperative staff at the office. They are very welcoming and well-structured, even in current COVID-19 times. The clinic is also taking all due precautions for health and safety that makes me feel safe going for my appointments.
