Classic case of intimidation & extortion - Last year Sheppard Village Dental ended up charging me several hundred $$ on top of what our (my + wife's) insurance paid. When I asked why they didn’t get pre-approval for the procedures they did even though I specifically asked them, I was told that it is "customer responsibility" to check what their coverage is. I was also threatened by Sheppard Village Dental that if I didn’t pay those extra several hundred $$ then they will send it to collection and it will screw-up my credit. Dishonest & unprofessional.

Great first time experience at this dentist, everyone is so happy and helpful. They did a great job in guiding me through the 1.5-2 hour initial consultation, the team took lots of pictures and had a thorough look at my teeth. Took everything I said into consideration, I was in a rush so they did a good job of getting me out at the time requested. At the end got a gift card which was awesome as well as ice cream. Dr. Wong and the team are very helpful and kind.

Great dentist..But the front desk are very unprofessional.. Ive TTC insurance and specifically told them to do what my insurance allows. They sucked up a ton of $$$ from the insurance but still had the audacity to charge me out of pocket..well 5 stars for the dentist but 0 for the staff.. will not return

After going to a handful of mall dentist I'm glad that we found Sheppard Village Dental. We don't go here because it's close by, in fact we live in The Beaches area of Toronto we go here because the quality is *that* good compared to other dentistry offices. Our entire family loves the friendly staff. Our 3 year old looks forward to coming here because the staff make him feel comfortable and at ease...plus he get a toy at the end of his visit. Anyone with kids knows how hard it is getting their kids to go to the dentist but I'm sure it's not a problem for the kids coming here. On his first visit, his dental hygienist gave us a free G.U.M. teeth cleaning kit so he could start brushing his teeth at home. Sheppard Village Dental also does a event once a year for underprivileged clients where they offer a free cleaning, which in itself says how much they are committed to their field and the community. I noticed that there was an anonymous "1" rating from a dummy account "centaurox" which states that they are expensive...this is not true, they charge the same rate as every other dental office, I know this because my insurance plan covers 100% of the fees based on a standardized industry rate and I've NEVER had to pay out of pocket. Give Sheppard Village Dental a try, you have nothing to lose and I'm sure you'll never go to another dentist again.

Worst place to go to. This place is very dishonest and wants to scam you and take all your money. I’m very upset and disappointed I would give 0 stars if I could. This place was trying to scam my wife and I. We went here cause of opencare hoping for a cleaning but just got a $650 bill for just xrays. And later on after 4 months Carol called saying we owe a balance cause of our cleaning that we never had. Good thing we had our receipts and explanation of benefits make sure you keep them or else they will scam you and say you owe +$300. After spending hours looking for the receipts and explanation of benefits we called them back and all they said that we cannot find this balance in our database sooo dishonest and hung up saying we will call you back...so don’t go here they are very dishonest and unprofessional!!! The google reviews I believe are all fake!!! Go to yelp reviews instead!

Poor customer experience out of the gate through Opencare. Spoke directly with the office and they have cleared up the miscommunication and concerns I had. FYI They do insist on all x-rays being completed before any routine cleaning or check up. Ultimately, too much of a hassle to be a new customer when I'm happy with my family dentist (was only looking for one a little closer to home for a quick cleaning).

I had to have emergency oral surgery for a broken 2nd molar. I called on Wednesday morning and they worked hard to fit me in by 3:20 pm the same day. The oral surgeon was clearly confident in his abilities which made me less anxious. The procedure was completed at 5:15pm including a bone graft and sutures. After the freezing wore off, I expected some pain and swelling. Zero pain was experienced up to 11:45 the following day and minimal swelling. Simply amazing, That's two fantastic experiences. Definitely recommended.

This place is great. They are honest and straight forward. They gave me accurate price quotes before I took my mom in, and when they saw her in person one of the recommended procedures wasn't needed so they reduced the price. They are really willing to work with you to get you what you need not just to have you walk in through the door with vague promises.

Had my first Root Canal yesterday. I got to admit, I was very anxious leading into the procedure, but was looking forward to relief from my terrible toothache. The procedure went MUCH better than anticipated. From beginning to end, Dr. Brach and his team did everything possible to ensure I was comfortable. Throughout the procedure, I was constantly asked how I was, and that if anything hurt, to let them know. I even received a call from Dr. Brach himself, later in the day, to see how I was doing. All in all, the root canal procedure was virtually painless...and now today my tooth feels great. I would highly recommend Sheppard Village Dental. With state-of-the-art equipment, nice and caring staff, and a great dentist...you can't ask for much more. Cheers.

The entire staff is amazing here. Dr. Brach is my dentist and he will always answer all of your questions and put your mind at ease. Even if you're skeptical and you think he is sugar coating, he isn't it really does go as smoothly as he says. I got my wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Ghorbani (forgive my spelling) I had 0 swelling and barely any pain after the fact. I've taken the medication he gave me on time and eaten my soft foods. As far as i'm concerned he is the MVP of extractions. I recommend them 100%.

This is by far the best dentist I've been too. The team is awesome, it's nice to feel like the people taking care of your teeth really care about your progress. Recently Mel did a whitening for me, and I haven't stopped smiling since. I love that she was checking in with me during the process to make sure I was comfortable, and my teeth look great! Went in to get my daughter’s cavities filled, they froze the entire right side and came back and told me that she can’t be treated because she’s being treated for lice at the moment. How unethical to leave a patien untreated after numbing her face, and how unprepared to not screen the patient prior to administering anesthetic. Total disappointment.

However, through OpenCare and the reviews I've read online, I can safely say that Sheppard Village Dental is AMAZING. Everyone on staff is warm and welcoming. Dr. Hemraj (or Dr. Zee) put all my insecurities at ease and it was very nice to hear that my teeth were still looking pretty good post-orthodontic treatment after 12+ years. The first appointment went smoothly. However, they cancelled my next appointment because the dentist was on a course, but no one from their office bothered to inform me that they cancelled it. The only time anyone bothered to inform me was when I showed up for the appointment. While they found someone to fill in for that appointment, they cancelled another appointment. They say that they require a minimum of 2 days for cancellation, but they do not even inform people when they are the ones cancelling the appointments. Lisa, the receptionist, was so rude and defensive on the phone. I specifically informed them from the beginning that if I schedule an appointment, then I would show up and that they should consider it as confirmed. The receptionist went as far as to call me during work hours, leave multiple voicemail messages, multiple text messages and even leave voicemail messages with my emergency contact. Megan, emergency contacts are for emergencies only, not to secure appointments. I have been going there for over a year and I have never been late nor have I ever missed an appointment. They were also trying to convince me that I need all kinds of services and that they can get a specialist to come in. I have seen the hygienist every time, but I rarely saw the dentist at my appointments. Dentists are supposed to check in on your oral health to make sure you are getting what you need. I will be taking my insurance and getting my services elsewhere.

I must say that in that time he has been thorough, caring and of course the best Dentist ever!! BE VERY CAREFUL! They only want your money. Yah, they may seem nice on the outside but they want to scam you out of your money. I went it with my husband and I and got a bunch of x-rays done. I paid IN FULL over $600. Good thing my insurance was able to re-imburse me back afterwards. They didn't even do a teeth cleaning or anything. They told me I'd need to come back and have a min of 5 cleanings done, and etc etc etc. Like my regular dentist never had to do this... I told them I would think about it. But I never came back. I only tried out this place because of OPENCARE. A couple of months later, I get a call saying I need to settle my accounts. Of course I was upset after paying all this money. They also added a bunch of cleanings and services I never went in to do, so I owed even more money. Good thing I kept all the receipts, and I'm currently fighting them about it right now with Carole. Shop around, find an honest...reasonably priced dental office. Be careful, I dont think you need as many services as they recommend. Make sure you clarify with your insurance if the services they provide are covered. You dont want to be stuck with a bill, and your insurance wont reimburse you. I dont understand why they have all these good reviews. There are much BETTER dentists out there.. that dont charge you THIS much and put you through all this headache.

I'll admit that I've had a fair share of cavities and freezing procedures in my lifetime and I'm definitely not a fan. Dr. Luka did an incredible job with the freezing procedure. He even took some time to explain how he's able to distribute the freezing/numbing agent through a needle without me feeling a thing. He's knowledgeable and friendly. I normally don't write reviews, good or bad. But I have to let you know the experience there was second to none. Personally, I despise the dentist, so I always hesitate to follow up, or making a cleaning appointment, but since I had to, I landed on Sheppard Village and I felt calm and relaxed right at the get go. This staff are professional, have great care for their clients, and what their needs are, and made me feel so relaxed that I won't have the same anxiety when I visit a dentist office again. Highly Recommended!

Hi this is Venai and I've been a client of Sheppard Village Dental for over 10 years now. The service by Staff and Dr Brach has always been exceptional. Amin is my personal dental hygienist who I always look forward to visits as he takes the time and effort to address any issues during my routine cleaning. The main reason for this review is to highlight the recent visit I had on Thursday Feb 1st 2018. The previous day I was in severe pain and had suspected I had a crack tooth. I called in and spoke to Alyshia H. after explaining the predicament, she spoke to Dr Brach and they immediately put me in for next day 10am for a consultation on what can be done. I arrived and was promptly ushered into an examination room. Dr Brach arrived and quickly confirmed that it was a crack tooth. Immediately he asked 'would you like this out so i can relieve the pain you are having'. Dr Brach meticulously attended to my extraction and I felt no pain during the entire procedure. He was gentle and patient to my nervousness and as up to now I have had no need for pain killers. The procedure went like clockwork. Thank You Dr Brach. Now the icing on the cake is what was happening in the reception area. My colleague Theo was waiting for me in the reception area. He had dropped me off and came in after and was greeted by Lisa B. She was very courteous and he explained that he came to get me. She then offered him coffee, tea, water etc and he even realised that she was offering to make it for him. Now this what made the experience and customer service exceptional and far above any, was that he told her that he had to go to make some business calls in his car. Lisa B took the time to take this coffee down to his car as he waited on me. We both work in customer service and relations and this was one of our best examples in the field. thank you Sheppard Village Dental.

Went here for cleaning and fillings. The team is exceptional at customer service and patient care. They are VERY detailed with this diagnosis and treatments. I have mild anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist but my treatment here was very smooth and by far one of the best experiences I've had at any other dentist clinic. It is important to note that you are paying for quality here and this is not some budget clinic. There are a few consultation fees associated, such as oral hygiene instructions, but if you request to abstain from them you can avoid such costs. Overall I was beyond satisfied with the quality of care this clinic provide.

I initially went to this dentist office based on the reviews. My first appointment was unnecessarily three hours long before I could even get my cleaning done. After that I got half my cleaning done and hygenist told me to come back for another appointment because she had another patient waiting. (I only wanted to get cleaning done to begin with but their first appointment before you get cleaning done is 3 hrs long). Lisa M is nice, I always asked her to check my coverage and tell me if I owe anything before I get anything done. So she always followed up with me and told me what I was covered for. My last appointment there is when I realized their service is not consistent. The receptionist didn’t tell me charges in advance and foot me a bill for something that should have been covered. The receptionist Was extremely rude and superficial which is why I don’t go to this dentist anymore. I know a few family friends who stopped going here for the same reason. Overall, they need to relay the costs to the patient before hand. Other than that the dentists there are very professional and nice.

Avoid this place!! If they know you have insurance, they will book a bunch of unnecessary treatments to ensure they get as much money out of it. They kept me for 3 hours to do a cleaning and check-up. Then the hygienist told me that I had to come back the next day because she couldn't finish the cleaning but she was wasting time for the most part. I went back the next day and they charged me again and said they bill according to time spent on a patient. I have visited many dentists for my cleanings and this has never happened before. Luckily, my work insurance covered all the costs but if you are only covered a certain percentage, definitely avoid this place as you will be paying a hefty out of pocket bill. Not worth your time, money or the rude attitude you get from the employees when you ask questions.

The front desk and dentists are very friendly. Dr. Wong is very friendly and thorough and I feel I can trust her and her recommendations. The only problems I have with this clinic is that they're quite busy and it is very difficult to schedule at the time you want. Most of my appointments have been in the early mornings. The other issue is that maintenance and cleaning tends to be expensive at this clinic. $200 for a cleaning session is up there in costs. Every time I see the hygienist I get more recommendations for more appointments that were not part of my initial plan and I feel pressured to accept the appointments. I'm going to have to pay money out of pocket because these additional appointments are going over my insurance limit.

Every orthodontist I’ve had a braces appointment with said my situation would take atleast 2years but Sheppard Village was able to give an estimate of 22 months and finished my treatment in 18 months, and they did an incredible job. WOW is what I'd left with. This was the most comprehensive treatment from a team of dental staff in all my years. The staff is well trained and equipped, and they take the time to explain each process thoroughly. Sheppard Village Dental puts most dental establishments to shame. Their next level of respect is 2nd to none and their focus on myself as a patient is a great strength. Some dental office personnel would have left over personal conversations while treating patient, but Sheppard Village Dental is totally in tune with the process so to maximize the care and wellbeing of the patient. It is the most valued 2.25 hour journey since Ive travelled all the way from Prince Edward County. My entire mouth felt as if it was having a dance party after treatment. This place does not respond back to messages. It doesn't matter what time you call, within stated business hours or after hours. I have left several messages regarding my appointment. I understand things are different during covid times and they may even be working with a skeleton crew but at least return messages back. When I finally got a hold of someone they were confused that there were even messages left and then said someone will call back. Well, it's 2 business days before my appointment and still nothing. They are also very excessive in trying to do tests and x-rays. Not sure why I need it when I just had one last month. I was going to get a crown done but not anymore. I'll go elsewhere where people are more professional. I gave this place a shot and after several appointments I've reached my threshold. The only reason why I gave this 3 stars is because the extractions I had removed were actually well done which was actually outsourced by another surgeon!

I want to make a complaint to this dental office because one of their staff, Lisa. The experience with Lisa is very unpleasant. Whenever dealing with her over the phone or in her office, I don’t feel that she cares about me, I feel like she only wants my money. She couldn’t provide expert opinion but she likes to argue in order to persuade you in doing the treatments. There was a time when she argued with me in her office about how many surfaces my tooth had been eroded before Dr. Brach fixed them for me. The photos taken before my treatment showed clearly that my biting surfaces of both teeth were very good, where turned bad was in between. She kept arguing with me of that. It was just very unpleasant. Eventually Dr. Wong came to explain to me. How many surfaces my tooth were eroded is not important, when she kept emphasizing it, it just made me feel she wanted to intimidate me. Yesterday, before Dr. Brach did the treatment for me. I asked how much would be the estimated cost for my treatment, he didn’t mentioned anything about a $150 examination fee. He only said “It would be $197 times 2.” Eventually, I got 2 teeth filled, I was charged $207 for each. My last visit was $325, only for a general examination. Lisa in her office said, she waived the $150 examination fee for me, I should be thankful for that. She said “it’s just like you go to a walk-in clinic.” The prices are not the issues. I just don’t feel comfortable. What led me come here to rate this dental was because of an event happened this morning. I made an appointment with Dr. Wong this morning, for Friday 1:00 if some one cancels that. Everything was fine until she called me back and told me that she needs to acquire my deposit to book this appointment. I don’t know if this is a policy of this office or just an unfair treatment to me. You know, Sheppard Villiage is not the only dental office in this town, the only reason why I booked an appointment with them was because I like Dr. Wong, Dr. Brach and other staffs in this office. On one hand, Lisa doesn’t want to do my business, she personally canceled my potential appointment this morning by calling me back after the other receptionist had already booked the appointment for me. On the other hand, because of my unpleasant experience with Lisa, I don’t feel like to go back to this dental office again. I don’t recommend this dental because of Lisa’s bad customer service.

The staff here are amazing and supportive. My partner and I found this place through Open Care and expressed how nervous we were going in, I have had some pretty bad experiences in the past. Lisa really took care of all our concerns and questions and really took the time to get to know us. They have been extremely accommodating with our schedules and ensuring we feel comfortable throughout the process of every procedure even if it was a simple cleaning. The dentists and orthodontist were extremely supportive and never pushed for solutions that weren't the right fit for me. Highly recommend for their customer service, expertise and support.

For many years i was afraid to visit the dental office however my son pull me there he loved the staff the video games and the flat screen t.v i finally went and my son was right. Dr.Brach and his amazing ,wonderful staff help me to get rid of my fear of the dentist.The office is very clean and tidy. At every visit i receive a very warm and friendly welcome. In the past two of his staff came to do a presentation at one of the daycare i use to work at the children and the parents loved them. They took care of all their dental needs ,they are very supportive in the community. I strongly recommend everyone of all age Sheppard Village dental is the place to go for all your dental care .

I am pleasantly surprised with the hospitality and care shown by everyone at the office. I had a great experience on my first visit and exam where they were very thorough and explained/answered any questions I had. During my cleaning, I experienced little to no pain during the process which was a shock from my previous cleanings from other places. I suspected I had cavities and wisdom teeth that needed to be treated and a detailed treatment plan was discussed with me. I look forward in continuing my dental health with Dr. Brach, Mel and office staff.

I love this office! I am so pleased with Dr. Wong and the staff member that assisted me during my appointment. I know this may sound crazy to most people, but I kinda had a blast - no seriously! There was a great conversation going on, exceptional attentiveness, and everyone made me feel so comfortable and important. I will update this once I confirm the name of the person that assisted Dr. Wong, because she was phenomenal also. These two women spent so much time to assist me with something that I had been trying to find on my own for weeks, and they didn't stop until my issue was resolved. went here for orthodontic treatment. After xrays and dental impressions, they quoted me at 5500 for metal braces. However, before the braces could be placed they said I would need to get a cleaning. Did the cleaning. Then they said I needed to get 10 cavities filled. So, they made a plan to come in for several appointments. I agreed to this (I was a bit skeptical of the amount of cavities). Dr. Brach called me a week or so later before one of my filling appointments and stated that I needed my gums to be cleaned, and for me to come in to plan out treatment. They tacked on another 5 appointments, for the gum cleaning. The amount was around 6000, before orthodontic treatment. I found this to be ridiculous. Therefore, I decided to see 4 different orthodontists in the GTA. They all stated that I only needed 1 filling, and cost of treatment for braces would be between 5000-6000. To have over 100 reviews, the and have the same vocabulary and writing style; these reviews are written by staff. I stated I did not have insurance and I'm only working part time but this place did not care. All they want is money, money, money. Stay away.

Very lovely office and very professional staff. From from office staff to dentist everyone is friendly and nice. My 6yrs old dtr who was very anxious is seen by Dr.Wong. Now she has had few visits and had fillings and tooth extraction with Dr.Wong. My dtr does not want to go to any other dentist now.Dr.Wong is very patient and explains my dtr all abt what she will be doing during the visit so that my dtr knows what to expect. I’ve always had good experiences here for the past couple years. But I’m very disappointed now with the customer service they provide. I had a appointment scheduled for 11:20 and I showed up 11:15 to get a screening done and what not. I waited in the waiting area till 11:40 no one came out to say the doctor was running late. I expressed my concerns to the staff working there explaining to her that if an appointment during covid is scheduled I expect to taking in on that time as I have other appointments afterwards. I explained to the staff I should have been notified that the doctor was running late. I was waiting for 25 mins no one notified me anything until I inquired about it since I was upset I left and didn’t get the service. It’s very disappointing because I’ve recommended this location to many friends and family and I’ve been coming here for years but no one reached out to apologize for the inconvenience they caused. So disappointing that this is how they treat their clients.
