Wow, where do I start? I was taken aback by the amount of unprofessionalism and rudeness I experienced when simply talking with Mr. Bal. When I had a different opinion about my procedure, he basically would not let me explain and spoke over me with all his strength. I felt so powerless. Another thing they are very good at is squeezing out every dollar from your dental insurance coverage for treatments you really don't need. Save your hard earned money and go to a dental centre that actually respects their patient's opinions.

I saw Dr Bal recently for my crown and wisdom tooth extraction and i have to say that i was very pleased with the experience from the beginning to the end. All of the staff were very professional and attentive and Dr Bal was able to do my dental work without any discomfort for me, I was so nervous for my extraction but him and his assistant were very patient and gentle with me. Highly recommend Dr. Bal! After YEARS of not seeing a dentist due to a past traumatic event when I was younger with another dentist, I had an emergency situation and I gave Dr. Bal's office a call. The service you receive from the staff is amazing. They are all so friendly and understanding. Let me tell you, I'm PETRIFIED of the dentist and needles, and Dr. Bal and his staff have gone beyond and above to help comfort and relax me during my visit. I was so nervous about everything and it was really nothing to be worried about! I had to get an extraction done and Dr. Bal had me laughing throughout the whole procedure. Very wonderful clinic. Doctors and staff are all gentle and understanding. They offer to give you details of the pricing if you don't have insurance. Came here twice to have cleaning and fillings. Both times were great experience with minimal pain. Doctor Bal is excellent at giving anesthesia shots as he makes sure it is quick and the amount is enough for you to have no discomfort. The place is super neat and clean. Great customer service offered by the front desk staff. 10/10 would recommend. P.S They even let you borrow phone charger if needed.

I’m putting one star because I feel like I got scammed there. I did few X-rays and they dedicated $250 from my insurance. I can still let go the fact it was so expensive, now I’m trying to get the reports so I can take it to other dentist, even tho I tried calling them so many times there is no response or they will put my call on hold. My new dentist, they themselves are trying to get my reports so I don’t have to pay again for same X-rays from them and still there’s no communication. Like you guys are so terrible and your receptionist is so arrogant, and I did not like the way she was talking to me. Not everyone can afford ridiculous amount of money you charge people without telling them the cost beforehand. I’m so frustrated and had such a terrible experience!!! PLEASE help yourself and find a better dentist, these people are money making business.

I really wished there was a negative rating to provide. The approach this centre keeps is just not right. I had this really bad pain in my back left side tooth and when I went to this clinic after the panoramic x ray, I found out that my wisdom tooth was infected and was not coming straight due to which I had to do root canal on the tooth that the wisdom tooth was pushing into. Fine no problem, but not even a single person here recommenced me to do my wisdom extraction first and kept on referring me here and there. The day I went to get my root canal done here, that did not happen because apparently I needed a specialist to do my root canal so what they did filling on my teeth(basically more claims). I went to the specialist and she I felt gave me a very honest answer that you should have not been referred for root canal and definitely wisdom tooth should b the first priority. This clinic literally wasted my 3 vacations by referring me here and there when they could have sent me in the first sitting to the oral surgeon for wisdom extraction. The oral surgeon who was going to take out my wisdom tooth as well mentioned that the clinic who referred you should have let us know that this is the scenario and why I am being referred. Even all the appointments I had to initiate with the oral surgeon when that should be done by the clinic who is referring.But no I think this is how money is made. Extremely disappointed and would never recommend this clinic to anyone.

Thought I should drop a review here from my horrible experience 3 years ago. I went to Bal Dental Clinic when it was at Eglinton to get my Wisdom Teeth removed. Now my case was a little difficult because the 4 teeth were growing through my nerves so the first Dentist I went to didn't want to touch it. I came to Bal and the Dental Assistant said that Bal would take care of it. So they did the X-rays, walked me through the procedure and set up an appointment date. Now if you haven't done a wisdom Teeth extraction you have to keep in mind that you will be drugged on the day of , and will need a lift home. So you need a chaperone and have to take the day off work. So took my mom and myself off work for the day, came to the clinic, and the Assistant and the receptionist set up my chair and i was fully prepped for the extraction. 30 minutes pass, and no Bal....45 Minutes pass and no Bal.. The assistant then comes up to me and tells me that Bal had some chest pain and he wouldn't be coming in today to do the extraction. OKAY fine, things happen, I have a mother that has heart issues and has to take the day off sometimes too, so I understood and booked a new appointment. New appointment day, I book off work, tell my mom to do the same, and as I am getting ready and leaving my home I get a call from the Dental office... "Sorry Dr Bal won't be coming in today, he has to go to his Daughters Graduation, we will need to make a new appointment". This was the 2nd APPOINTMENT, and I tell her that this is ridiculous! What do they offer me? Free Toothbrushes....Are you kidding me! I just dropped 16 hours of work (Back then I was minimum wage and this was paying for my extraction since I didn't have benefits!) Got my mother to do the same, and this clinic flops on me a 2nd time, on top of that payed for the xrays out of pocket. How messed up are you as a Dentist/father that you forget your Daughters Graduation(Which I believe may have been a made up excuse)? That they could have told me a week or something prior instead of the DAY OF! Your nerves are already tense from preparing yourself mentally for this extraction since so much can go wrong! And all that tension just turns to anger at the flip flop this clinic put me through. I ended up going to a surgeon that cost way less and did an AMAZING job. 3 years later and I'm still pissed off! Very unprofessional! Unreliable! And I haven't even met the Dentist! Good Luck to anyone that goes to this clinic!

Rip off. Had to get the work ie fillings redone. Charges much higher for shoddy work. Does not track what was done previously. Does not give printed receipts, charging to insurance directly does not mean you give no receipt of what was done to the patients.

When I went in for my final appointment to have my work done Dr. Bal was very kind and helpful he made my treatment enjoyable with his big personality and openness. I highly recommend Dr. Bal. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. I had 2 difficult implants done at one time and my experience was great. He is gentle , caring and considerate. I have had no issues with my implants and am very happy with them. He also did braces for both my kids and they arr happy ad well. Ruby is equally polite and pleasant. I've never had a single procedure where I've felt uncomfortable. And I've had everything from teeth cleanings to teeth extractions. - They're good at what they do. The staff always give me knowledgeable advice and clear instructions of what needs to happen next. I'm never left in the dark and know exactly what's going on every step of the way. - The equipment is state of the art. Seriously, I've never sat in a chair that comfortable! Going to the dentist is never 'fun.' It's not how we want to spend our Sunday. But but it can be pleasant and comforting, and that's how I feel every time I walk into Bal Dental Centre. If you're looking for a fantastic dental practice you can rely on; I couldn't recommend Bal Dental Centre more!

I chose to come here because of all the positive reviews this centre got and also someone mentioning that their prices were reasonable for people who don’t have insurance...I had to pay a total of 420 dollars for ONE wisdom teeth extraction plus exam out of my own pocket. I was really disappointed about the price and most of the positive reviews on here are probably from people who do have insurance claims ???? I only gave one extra star to them because the wisdom tooth removal had no problems but other than that do not come here if you do not have insurance. This is my first google review ever and I had to do it because I was truly disappointed believing in all the other reviews about the pricing of this clinic ????

Bal Dental Centre is honestly a great dental clinic that I discovered recently. It’s so convenient for me because it’s like 5 minutes away from my house and I would have to go all the way downtown to visit my usual dentist. So I switched to Bal Dental from my downtown one because their services and staff did not disappoint me, the doctor himself and his other staff are super friendly, and very helpful whenever I need more information or confused about something. It’s very easy to make appointments, and schedule them. The receiptionists are always nice and helpful whenever you talk to them and the environment is very neat and tidy. I got my normal cleaning done and cavities filled, it was done pretty smoothly and I have no complaints about it. So I really recommend people to check this Dental Clinic out, you won’t be disappointed. I’m glad I found a good one in Scarborough!

Dr. Bal & his team have been nothing but fantastic since the moment I stepped into their office in January 2018. I had not been to the dentist in years due to a phobia from back experiences in the past, and they have done such an amazing job making me feel comfortable within their dental centre. The centre itself is beautiful and is welcoming. The hygienists I have had Kerry and Debbie were amazing. Most recently, Debbie provided me with helpful tools as I continue to rebuild damage done to my teeth from not taking care of them when I was younger. She was very gentle and took the time to explain what was being done and helped me relax with a tooth issue by checking thoroughly. Dr. Bal and his assistant are great too. Welcoming me and again explaining issues I had with my teeth/gums. This centre is a dental office I recommend to anyone. The biggest thing is to listen to what they are saying, they give fantastic advice and show they care about their patients. Continue the great work Dr. Bal & team.

Very good doctor and staff. Dr. Bal helped me diagnose the reason for tooth pain. Suggested some good home remedies and mouth wash to avoid extraction. They think about the patient and recommend treatments only as needed. Very cooperating staff. I also got my cleanup done at them. Ms. Bal is very friendly and makes sure you are comfortable in terms of present visit and future visits. I tried the zoom whitening treatment for the first time at Bal dental centre 2 weeks ago and there is nowhere else I would reccomend other than Bal dental centre, I have tried cleaning methods in the past at other dentists but none compare to my experience here. Not only was the procedure quick (45 mins) but it made the most visible difference in shading in my teeth that I've ever seen, I had friends and family commenting on my teeth which used to be stained (coffee lover) and in just one treatment my teeth were back to new, pricing was fair and the staff was very friendly, I absolutely have found my dental centre of the future.

NOT PROFESSIONAL! I had taken a day day off to take my mother to Bal dental for an appointment. But NO ONE was there. I called their two numbers, texted and sent and email. I waited 45 mins and no response. I wasted half of my day. Things happen, if they wanted to change the appointment, that’s fine. Let me know the day before. I rechecked the email they sent confirming the Day and time. I was at the right time and day. Bal dental. This is not a good way to treat your customers. Not even a call back or an apology. Really disappointed in your lack of professionalism.

I've been to several dentists but nothing can compare to the care and detailed analysis I received here. Ruby first consulted me and asked me EVERYTHING I was concerned about; and she listened. She wrote down everything and addressed it to the dentist. Other than being extremely professional, she's the sweetest person you'll meet. Every staff member here is down-to-earth, understanding, and extremely caring. After my initial assessment with Ruby, I had the most detailed examination ever: x-rays, camera pictures (face and teeth), rotating machine xray, then another pen camera they put in your mouth for pictures. I was impressed at the technology and thoroughness! Then Dr. Bal came and he has the most cheerful personality. He's fun, funny, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. Without a doubt, the best dentist who knows what he's doing. He explained everything to me until I understood it. He made sure I knew what was happening at every step. I had serious issues (dental abscess and root canals) but within a month, everything was done. I had no pain during the procedures or after. They had called my insurance company beforehand and made sure to tell me what was covered and what wasn't. I was made aware of every step and the cost of everything. These people truly care about you. I trust Dr. Bal and his team so much that my mom had a dental emergency, and despite going to another dentist where she was covered, I brought her to Dr. Bal where I'd have to pay for her treatment. As long as it's Dr. Bal, I'll pay for any treatment. My highest, highest recommendation for this office. You will NOT be disappointed! - Anam

I love the receptionists here and the hygienist that was there when i started going to this clinic several years ago was so good. The new hygienist is horrific. She criticized my home care and was so condescending every time that I went for a cleaning. I had no problem with the dentists work but he, too, spoke to me like a child. The last time that I went here about 6 months before the start of Covid, he suggested so much work which I questioned as I was having no problems, he deemed it as preventative . I suspected this was a huge money grab and I was correct! I have since been to two other hygienists and my new dentist and all have told me to keep up the excellent home care and that all restorative work is still good and routine cleanings are all that are necessary. Please, think twice about any work that this man suggests as it may not be needed. And...he should consider a new, less intimidating hygienist.

Why not reimburse me for all the work I got done from your office that now all has to be redone somewhere else? Over 2k+ Tooth fractures, lost fillings etc in a few month time frame. Everytime I went back to Dr.Bal all he did was file down more of each filling instead of listening to me when I told him I was in pain. Thanks to you guys I've already had to pay $600+ on fillings that were not covered with my insurance because your office worked on them and did a horrible job. It's really hard when you put your trust into a dentist with your teeth and manage to come out worse then when you went to them. I'm very disappointed and drained on cash. The worst part is I wouldn't even trust you guys with my teeth anymore and having a new dental assistant practice on me EACH time I went in. Worst part of it all is after the 4th time I took time on my day off to have Dr.bal check the pain I'm feeling with the fillings he did your office had the audacity to charge me for a bite adjustment on teeth HE JUST worked on and did them incorrectly. After me calling your office for a week no one returned my call until I got my insurance company involved. Thanks for causing me the unecessary tooth pain for months and a bunch of extra out of pocket costs while you have Dr.Bal texting me bragging about his expensive new Bentley he drives. I was nothing but patient and understanding Everytime I waited over half hour for my appointments to just be rushed out by Dr Bal saying it should be 'fine'. I definitely feel I should be reimbursed for all the troubles and out of pocket costs I am now paying. I am considering contacting the Ontario Dental Association if you are not willing to help meet me half way...

But I have to tell all of you who think of coming here for service. They are so friendly and they did such a wonderful job from customer service to all the dentist works. They really understand for my baby brain which made me missing my morning appt, and still be ale to get me in the afternoon. I also wanted to cancel my afternoon appt just because I had a bad day, and being such a baby. But no, they really try their best to make the appt happens for me. And, I’m so glad I went in. He has done amazing cosmetic work for me and my husband, and did braces on one of our son. We are VERY happy with the results. Do NOT go here to have a denture made. This office maxed out my insurance benefits and gave a denture that was made wrong and is totally useless. this office would not do anything to rectify the problems. I had to go to the lab in person to try and have the denture fixed and even then it was still horrible and unusable. After 1 full year of not being able to eat with the denture in, constant gagging and experiencing pain from the other denture, I finally went to Apple Denture on Lawrence and they provided a complete new denture for less than half of what this clinic charged. All about the money at this place.

I do not recommend Dr.Bal. I saw him during the summer of 2020 and I’m still having problems and pain with the work he did to my teeth. It’s too long to describe what I went through. I would never go back to him and strongly do not recommend him at all. His license should be removed and taken away from him. I followed his professional recommendations and he made it worse. Please do not remove this rating or my comments. Because if it is I’ll write another negative comment about his lack of dental care and escalate my complaint further.

Not hygienic. He touched my son's teeth then touched a pen then touched my son's teeth again with the same gloves then threw the pen where the tools are. Contaminated the tools then picked up the tools with the same gloves that touched the pen. Who knows how many people touched that pen. I know for sure the pen wasn't sanitize. I was so disgusted i would never go back there again!

I regret to write a review like this, I did filling last 2 years back and my tooth are still not normal, Bal Dental really messed up my teeth's inner while filling, doctors are not experienced and I still can not bite anything hard with that teeth and it hurts every time I bite something with that teeth. Made terrible mistake and should not have gone there for my filling, I actually came here after seeing good online review. I suggest do you go there for filling and anything major. Doctors are not experienced.

Exceptional from start to finish. The facility offers cutting edge technology and attentive yet efficient staff. Ruby at the front desk is courteous and thorough, while Debbie is the first hygienist I've had in decades to provide a pain-free yet meticulous exam/cleaning. Dr. Bal is prodigiously knowledgeable and, while other dentists would have rushed me out the door due to the late hour, took the time to explain things to me in plain language (and with every day examples). The centre performs direct billing, so that patients are only responsible for the amount not covered by insurance. I wish I had become a patient sooner!

Yesterday I have a terrible experience with Bal Dental Centre. My wife called them and asked how much they would charge for a extraction of a milk tooth. They said including scanning or X-Ray for $128. We made appointment and went there. Technician took scan and then doctor came said there are 6 teeth to be extracted. At the same time mt daughter was afraid and crying. Doctor told us you are not ready come back when you are ready. He said he did not have time to wait. I said ok fine we will come some other time. I went to receptionist and try to make an appointment. She said $160 please. One scan $160. She said because doctor did examination. But they told me scaning and extraction of tooth is $128. They never told me fee for Doctor examination. He only spent a few minutes to check the scan. They should have said at the begining when we asked for price. They had hidden charges like crook companies. I argued with receptionist and I told my daughter that because she cried we they could not extract her tooth and we were charged for nothing. A woman came and told me she was going to talk to my daughter. Then she said they are going to make a complain because I was angry to my daughter. I was only angry at them for charging me in a crook way. My daughter got very angry at them for lying, using my daughter as an excuse to rip me off. Later she said she was going to charge me only $200 for extracting for two teeth and she was not going to charge me for scanning. I said alright. Doctor extracted two teeth. I went to pay Receptionist and pay $200. She said $360 please. I asked shouldn't be $200 she said no. 200 only for two teeth 100 for doctor's examination and 60 for scanning. To look at scan it is $100. If you are going to extract teeth don't you need to look at scan? Why extra charge. In short they just try to rip you off. They should learn to be honest.

Very disappointed, even though i spent more than $5000 in just 2 months or so (root canals and some fillings). Dr Bal told me i was wasting his time after extracted my tooth. All i did was got very emotional as i had a bad history and i was worried how would i look without a tooth because it was a front tooth but he was very rude to me that why i was crying. If u r emotional like me, wouldn't recommend this place.

I have always been petrified of the dentist and I haven't been in 15 to 20 years. I went in because one of my wisdom teeth broke so I didn't have much choice. I waited until it was well over due to be pulled out. I did pay extra for the nitrous because I definitely wasn't going in there with nothing and I was shocked that I did not feel anything! No pain what so ever! If u are scared of the dentist I would highly recommend Bal Dental Centre! :)

Very rude and bed attitude by the dentist. I was shocked at his rude attitude and the way he spoke about my six year old boys dental problems in friont of him scaring the wits out of him. I actually left this dental centre of his rude behaviour even though it was very conveniently located. The staff were friendly and well mannered however the Dentist Dr Bal was not.

My kids and I have been going to bal dental centre for a few years now. The staff are always to friendly and Dr Bal is so knowledgeable. My daughter had a tooth ache last summer so I called to make an appointment but the office was fully booked but once I told the receptionist my 5 year old was in pain she made sure to fit us in which I really appreciated. No one likes to see their child suffer and it’s the understanding nature of all the staff that make this clinic the right place for my family.
