I woke up this morning with part of my gums swollen and in a lot of pain, I’m new to Peterborough and hadn’t yet switched my dentists due to the pandemic but chemong family dental got me in the same day (within 2 hours) even though they were booked up and had me seen by both a hygienist and the dentist as well! Friendly staff, easy check in, and overall very helpful! Will definitely be to switching here as my regular dentist!

I was do impressed... I called at 8 am was in by noon and the emergency procedure was done by 130pm... the staff were very caring and informative the whole time... everything was fully explained as we went through the experiance... the dentist was done the procedure in minutes and for what I was experiencing the pain was gone immediatly...God Bless all the staff there...

I wanted to become a patient with them given all their good reviews, but an urgent problem arose before I could scheduled a visit. They were amazing at getting me in ASAP and taking care of my cracked tooth the same day I called. When I was concerned about complications a few days later, they got me in again right away! The staff is very friendly and the hygienists and dentists are good with people like myself, who have had bad experiences with some dentists and are anxious about going. I had to have a procedure done and I was quite anxious about it- however the team made it pleasant, were extremely friendly, answered all my questions and did a brilliant job. I can't say enough about Chemong Family Dental. Prior to going there I didn't have a very good experience with my dentist. When I first started at Chemong Family Dental I saw Dr. Alex Rhee and I couldn't believe the difference. He was very professional and super friendly and I even got a call later on after my visit to make sure I was feeling ok!! (I had a cavity filled) As his practice got bigger I started seeing Dr. Laura and I feel the same way about her. I couldn't ask for better care and a better team of people at CFD. I am blown away! I had significant dental trauma many years ago and it delayed me from seeing a dentist for 10+ years. April at Chemong listened to my story and matched me accordingly with staff/doctors. She explained to me their credentials, experience and testimonials and made the most prefect recommendations. I cannot believe how calm the entire experience was from cleaning to my almost root canal. I am still amazed I had an almost root canal done with next to no pain and an extremely low anxiety level. I am so thankful to their doctors, hygienists staff and mostly April for helping me. She guided me through the process and assured me along the way. My most recent visit I was stabbed in the face “by accident” with a needle and the dentist proceeded to joke about it. Most unprofessional thing I’ve seen. My son complained about the same dentist being awful and rough as well. We will not be going back. Would not recommend at all. It’s given me a phobia of dentists I never had before.

So disappointed. I have an appointment on Saturday at Chemong Family Dental. They called me on Wednesday to confirm and take information about COVID. I was feeling confident that they are following a rigorous system to ensure the safety of their customers. Friday morning, my housekeeper who comes every two weeks and was due on Saturday, called to let me know that she has a scratchy throat and a cough. She did the test and was waiting for the result. So I called CFD, to postpone my appointment by 2 weeks to be safe. The person who answered said that since I have often (she said 6 times - which is not true) cancelled in the last minute they have to follow the dental clinic policy (not sure what that is - i think its paying something). She said that if I had seen my housekeeper 2 weeks ago it is safe to come. So I said I will. Now my housekeeper just called and said that she tested negative. Which is good. However, I no longer feel that CFD are as rigorous as I previously thought. I would have imagined they would want to err on the side of caution and safety. It seems $$ are more important than safety right now. I did not give a 1 star which i would want to do, because all the hygienists I have gone to were excellent. All the dentists are amazing. I don't know if this was an untrained new employee or what happened but I had to get this out there.

I have horrible dental anxiety, this team esp Dr Romi Patel she was amazing, everyone helped talk me through the procedure and ZERO PAIN FELT and lord was I scared for a tooth extraction & filling the numbing really did the job. About a year ago Dr. Alex Rhee of Chemong Family Dental was extremely helpful in convincing me to make the transition from Dentures to Permanent Implants. Thanks to his expertise in the latest Implant Technics and with the help of his very courteous staff I can now attest that I have absolutely no regrets in having opted for permanent upper implants. It was one of the best decision I ever made in my life and I cannot thank Dr. Alex enough for a job very well done. The procedure was totally painless (I was sedated) and I left the clinic after six hours with a full set of teeth. I hadn't seen a dentist in 10+ years and was so nervous about going but after my first appointment, it felt like home. I ended up having to get dental surgery as well, which I was nervous for but not as nervous as I was in the past for dental appointments. I was in a situation where I had fairly poor coverage when I was a kid, and then after university I went into private sector startup organizations. This didn't lend itself to great benefit packages. I went to Chemong Dental having not seen a dentist in nearly 20 years. To say that my anxiety level was high would be an understatement. There was a great deal of work to be done. They were fantastic. At no point did I feel judged or looked down on. A huge shoutout to the hygienists who did my first cleaning. They did a great job and made me feel comfortable and it was certainly not the highlight of there day. They worked with my insurer and found every benefit that I could possibly claim. I have been a client for about 18 months now, and it is a fantastic feeling to go in for a checkup and come out with a totally clean bill of health. Thank you to the entire team at Chemong Dental, I actually smile and laugh now without feeling self conscious, and that is a fantastic feeling!

Terrible experience. Felt bullied into making more appointments. Had metal fillings replaced with white ones and was in extreme pain for weeks, so I went back, was made to feel like I was a hassle. I told her one area was very sensitive and kept bleeding and she rammed floss in there and told me it as fine. Came back a few weeks later because I couldn't even eat soft bread without sharp pain and a different dentist told me that she messed up and there was a catch on my tooth, just like i said. She told me they could shave down the particular cusp that was hurting but when I got home I realized they shaved down the wrong cusp! I tried to make another appointment to correct this and they literally hung up on me. WORST experience I've ever had. I should've cut my losses and run. Don't ever go here.

I went to chemong family dental as a new patient, October 2021. The booking experience was easy to book online and communicate via email, very helpful for me to be able to book via email. I got booked in, without asking to be, for a Saturday appointment, which was odd, when I had replied via email to book a Wednesday. I was able to get in within two weeks of booking my appointment which is impressive given covid caused delays I'd thought they'd have, but they mustve managed it very well. The office is very clean, and well kept. All covid rules were strictly adhered to and they seem to be going above to ensure our safety. It was helpful that they sent online fillable medical/ dental history forms to be done ahead of time for me to complete. I much prefer this, as it allowed me to do it at home and not miss anything. The dental hygienist I had was great, I believe her name is Anna. Very thorough, confident, friendly, and explained everything to me. I really appreciated that. The dentist Dr. Lee was also very thorough, confident and clear with what he found/ and was doing. There was a big error at checkout where I was advised I owed additional money above what was covered for me. This was unnecessary stress for me at the visit, as when you go in with 100% coverage, you don't expect a $200 bill after making sure at arrival only covered services are performed. Mishae came and was able to identify the billing issue immediately and got it all fixed up and apologized which was appreciated. I'd definitely recommend them, and will be going back. Overall good experience. Everyone was professional.

Awesome Staff and Great facility. Everyone is very professional and courteous. I had my crown done in several years ago. I was quite worried as it broke while eating hard candy. Doc said she tried her best to save and but expect worst. I was very concerned but I still have that crown now! No pain at all. Very skilled. Highly recommend it to everyone.

I've had fillings done as well as a root canal, the service was great, they kept me up to date on how the procedure was going. They were also very considerate about how I was feeling throughout the entire appointment and made sure I was comfortable and not feeling any pain. I love that they call me a few hours after every appointment to see how I was doing, if I was in any pain or discomfort, and to give them a call if I had any questions or concerns.

All in all it was a good experience. You saw me quickly and checked out my broken crown. My one concern was I sort of got a feeling that you were upselling. You want to take the tooth beside it out too and while I understand there is a crack im not sold on having it removed too. Some of the recommendation - the two teeth pulled, the bone fill etc. didn't totally sit right with me. As such, I'll reserve judgement a little longer. To be honest I've had some less than great experiences since my dentist of over 30 years retired so I'm a little cautious. As I mentioned in my confirmation of Friday's appointment., I don't think I want that second tooth pulled at this time, just the broken off one. Thanks Gail McHardy

My first visit included a questionnaire regarding any concerns I may have had - I have a spinal issue which makes it difficult to lie on my back for any appreciable amount of time and I also have some anxiety regarding any oral procedures - my answers were noted and maintained in my file to which they always refer before beginning and the assistants, hygienists and dentist always do their best to ensure I am comfortable throughout my visit. I no longer dread my dental appointments! I really can't speak highly enough about everyone here and, while I won't go so far as to say my visits are always enjoyable, they are much less uncomfortable than some I have experienced in the past. Hands down the best dental office in town.

I had a great experience with Dr. Alex and his team. I had extensive restorative dental work on my two front teeth after an accident (implant and crown). I'm very happy with the results. They were able to match my crowns to my existing mottled teeth colour. My teeth now look nearly the same as they were before the accident. I did have to return to the office a few more times than expected to match the colour correctly. This was a bit costly because I wasn't living in Peterborough (I started my treatment while living in Peterborough, than moved to Northern Ontario). I recognize this is sort of the nature of the beast, and sometimes it takes trial and error to match crowns with natural teeth. Otherwise, I've very happy with the final results and would recommend Dr. Alex for anyone looking for implant or restorative dentistry.

To me she seemed knowledgeable and professional - accurate in both diagnosis and treatment. On the check sheet I indicated that I am not at all nervous with dentistry. There was probably a little bit of denial at work there. One feature of both PR and treatment that you might want to review is to have staff introduce themselves by name when she or he first meets a patient. That said, to me using first names has always been a sign of respect: insisting on being called Dr. So-and-so seems not only to pull rank but to intimidate. First names seem to be the way Chemong Dentistry does business, and I did appreciate that. Cost? - Dentistry is always costly, but I found Chemong Dentistry to be reasonable during both of my contacts. No extras, frills, or bill padding. Please share this with Kayley and Priya. And thanks. I went to Chemong Dental clinic looking for help with a very clear problem. I had two abcessed teeth in the back of my left jaw, which were causing me worse pain than I had ever dealt with before in my life, and I have had my fair share of painful experiences (my hand was reconstructed and plated together with steel rods after being shattered). The instant they realized I had dental insurance they started tacking on additional work and things that I needed to have done, while at the same time having zero plan for how to fix my current problem, which I explained was causing me to miss hundreds of dollars of work-hours. After 3 appointments where I would go in, wait 40 min in a dental chair watching Netflix, and then 5 minutes talking to a dentist, two of those times the dentist didn't even examine my teeth, I was charged 72$ for the exam on top of around 50 $ for the prescription fees for the non-effective painkillers and antibiotics (which i was later told by a proper dentist were not the kind of antibiotics I should have recieved anyways). All the while never getting any kind of plan as to how they would remove the trouble causing teeth. After this I decided to seek better help, and found a dentist who not only gave me his time and attention listening to what I was saying, but on the first appointment he spent the time to learn exactly what was causing my pain, offering me the proper medication, and setting a date the next week for an extraction. After all of this, I spent +300$ on fees and ineffective medicine with low to zero attention from Chemong dental, and 300$ on a competent practitioner from Port Hope who not only treated my intense pain in the week with a much less dangerous medication, but also removed the two problem teeth for a ridiculously low price (265$!) within 30 min in one appointment pain-free. Any dentist practice in the Peterborough area would charge near 1000$ for that extraction. I urge anyone planning on using Chemong Dental to avoid doing so and instead look for a reasonably priced dentist who is actually capable of performing the work you may need, and who wont hold you by the ankles and shake every last cent out of you while doing so. I had a friend go here who pointed out that SOMEHOW this dentists office in peterborough has far more reviews than any of the busiest dental practices, even in Toronto. Leading me to believe that most of these reviews are fake, used to increase their rating. Before calling me a liar google it for yourself.

Dr. Alex Rhee and staff gave me a porcelain veneer on one of my front teeth to cover a peg tooth. I was processed and given a temporary tooth on day one and within 24 hours Dr. Alex had taken a 3D scan of my mouth, and custom made a tooth in house to have my new tooth put in the next day! The colour matching was perfect, the tooth was custom fit and the veneer made in-house reduced my wait time. Overall, I found the service from staff to be really great and I'm so proud of my new smile. Highly recommend.

I'll start this by saying they did a fantastic job at saving one of my teeth wthout the need for an implant and I am grateful for that. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful and the coffee was a nice touch. What ultimately made my wife and I run without looking back was the whole sales feel of the place. We are both used to the dentist sitting down and explaining options. CFB has you sit in what is ultimately a sales room with someone who did not appear to be dentist or hygienist. Felt like I was buying a truck and they were trying to tack on accessories I didn't want. Have had a number of dentists over my life because of moving or my parents changing dentists. This is the first place I truly didn't enjoy at all.

I am petrified of the dentist. Because of this fear, I waited too long to go. I finally went and had to have some pretty extensive work done. From the moment you walk in the staff are friendly and helpful, and do what they can to put you at ease. If your appointment is at 3:00, tou are in by 3:03 at the latest. All hygienists and dentists at the clinic are fantastic! The treatment plan we came up with worked for me, and I didn’t have any pain. The fear of the dentist still exists, but it is calmed every time I go and I am not petrified anymore!

Now I just had two implants done, and two support pins inserted in order to replace another tooth, and both procedures were absolutely pain free. I was very worried as freezing does not usually take to me well. I really just wanted these teeth out. As I predicted freezing was not taking or lasting. I had a cap on a front tooth which broke off twice from a previous dentist and when I went to see Dr. Rhee he suggested a implant would be a better solution for me. Though the procedure took a long period of time, from first visit to actually having my tooth replaced was just under a year, but the out come was great and they match the tooth in size and colour perfectly. They made the procedure very comfortable and painless for me, and I am very happy with the outcome. The cost of the procedure is pretty expensive compared to a normal cap, but my dental coverage helped me a lot. hopefully this will be the last time I will have any more problems with this tooth. I have been going to Chemong Family Dental for nearly 10 years. I know that not every day runs perfect. I'm in the service industry, I know all too well. But when it comes to communication and time management I have to say something. I had an appointment for nearly 3 months to have a tooth filled after a partial molar extraction in March. I came in for my appointment today and I see I missed a call on the way , from your office, calling to say they overbooked and was looking to see if could come in tomorrow. I took time off from work early and feel the last minute notice is not at all professional.

Student who is away from home and wanted to get into the dentist for a cleaning since I hadn’t been in a while. They made time for me to come in during March break, which I appreciated. Had a positive experience other than waiting 20 minutes to get into the room for my 3:50pm appointment, which they did apologize for (most others seemed to be getting into their appointments on time). Staff were professional, friendly and did a good job. I would recommend to others.

they tacked on a lot of charges, told me I had a cavity, I went elsewhere, other Dentist said I had 0 cavities. I complained online, they contacted me and offerred me a bunch of free xrays to take my review down, I refused, Since then they've gotten 30 more positive reviews, most of them look fake, why would a Dentist in Peterborough have more reviews than the busiest Dentists in Toronto? With most of the reviewers only ever making 1 review. Its your call but i'd advise against this shady place

Health concerns are addressed in depth before treatment. The infection was treated first to avoid complications. Dr Rhee did the extraction gently & painlessly & listened to my questions with thorough & caring answers...I did not feel rushed in any way but rather relaxed & comfortable! What a wonderful dental office!! Very professional staff, super friendly and seem to really love their jobs. The dental hygienist I had was so great, she explained everything she was doing and areas I was doing well in and where I could use improvement. She made me feel at ease about my anxiety of 'the dentist'. The dentist I had was very energetic and informative about my dental health. Definitely going to recommend my friends and family to go here. Also really great website, I was excited to hear that they can provide so many different services.
