I went to Dr. Bentham for the very first time for a routine cleaning. To start off, I will say that the hygienists, receptionist, and assistants were very kind and friendly.
Once Dr. Bentham entered and looked at my teeth he stated I would need $2500+ of work done for grinding of my teeth that were ‘about to crack’ and various cavities. This was on top of the almost full amount of my benefits they used just for my cleaning and x rays. He could also do the work RIGHT now because he was available. It was not shocking that he was available because there was not one person in the waiting room. I was already feeling very uncomfortable at this point and wanted to get out of there as fast as I could so I repeatedly declined and said I would let him know. While I was still in the chair he kept asking me when I could come in to get it done- later this afternoon? Monday? Tuesday? I had to repeat myself every time that I would let him know. He then proceeded to personally call me multiple times to ask when I was coming in because the work needed to get done ASAP or else my teeth would break. Then he started saying that he could negotiate the price of the work for me if the other quote seemed too high. Just wondering if you’ve ever had a dentist willing to negotiate price with you? After probably the 5th or 6th phone call and him stating he would drop the price by $1000, I had to repeat myself multiple times to tell him to stop calling me. I later went to a different dental office in town and got a cleaning, all my work done + a night guard for UNDER $1000.
So, in summary, he was going to overcharge me by at LEAST $2000, personally called me 5-6 times even after I told him I wasn’t interested, and then was willing to ‘negotiate’ the price. Oh, and for the cherry on top- he was also rude & condescending to the woman who also work there.
Would NOT recommend, would give -5 stars if I could and hope people read this review before choosing him as your dentist.
