I could not say enough about the Gilmour Dental Centre...I mean everyone is wonderful, well skilled, office has a great atmosphere and I have not been to the dentist in more than 10 years. So, to have chosen them above others that were recommended to me I am beyond happy with the service, kindness and great work that was done during my visits. I didn't go to the dentist for years due to bad experiences in the past. When my fiancee raved about her dentist, I decided to give it another try. The Gilmour Dental team is exceptional in every way. The front desk team is some of the friendliest I've every encountered, the hygienists provide excellent advice without making you feel like a terrible person for not flossing twice a day, and the dentists themselves are kind and effective. What blows me away is how flexible they are for such a busy practice. I generally have busy days, and I'll ask if a time is available and it's not – miraculously, they'll call me back in ten minutes saying they've found a way to make it work. They're incredible.

Great establishment. Clean, cozy, and friendly. The hygienist and dentist were good about letting me know what was happening, where I can improve, and they were gentle too. Also, the front staff handle the admin very well. On my first visit I had no idea how my insurance coverage worked. Rather than send me away to sort it out they walked me through it day of, and I received my cheques promptly.

She listened to all my concerns and we ended up minimizing the duration of my orthodontic work by 6 months. The reception staff are also super friendly and always pleasant and made me feel comfortable even during COVID.

I don't understand how my experience at this clinic is so different from the other reviewers. I sat on this review for over a year because I felt like I must be crazy, but I'm still salty about it, so here we are. I went to Gilmour Dentist for a check-up and cleaning. The front staff were lovely, as was the tech who did my x-rays. The dentist did a thorough exam , but tried to sell me on braces. I have straight teeth except for one SLIGHTLY crooked bottom tooth that does not show when I smile or cause me any discomfort. Braces cost $5,000+, so the upsell didn't work. The cleaning, though, was an ordeal. The hygienist had a dour attitude from the start and the cleaning was by far the worst, bloodiest, most painful dental experience I have ever sat through, including needles and having my wisdom teeth pulled. And I LIKE going to the dentist! I go regularly and brush and floss, and never have any problems in the chair. This is the first time, ever, that I actually considered stopping partway through. I can feel the difference between a sore gum being poked, and having the pick jammed into my gum as it's being scraped down towards my tooth. Her gauze wipe was red with blood by the end of it, and I actually had little bits of mangled gum hanging between my front teeth. I didn't say anything at the time, but later that night I was still disturbed by the experience, so I contacted the dental office and nicely but honestly told them that it had been a really bad experience for me. The front staff responded kindly and empathetically. They said the dentist wanted to see me, and asked me to come in. I was reluctant but thought he was just going to apologize (which would have been fine - everyone has bad days.) Instead, he examined my mouth, saw the little dangly bits of gum and said "oh, that's just a little trauma from the cleaning." I've had annual dental cleanings roughly once a year for as long as I can remember, at many different dental offices, and I've NEVER had bloody, cut-up-gums "trauma." Ever.

Do not think twice, book an appointment here. I have been going to this clinic for decades and it has consistently been a better than great experience regardless of ownership. My most recent experience was getting Invisalign, which honestly I dragged my heels all the way through. If I knew the result was going to be as outstanding as it was/is I would have been more relaxed. I just had my fast braces taken off and the results are better than I ever could have imagined. Dr. Amzar is the absolute best! You only have to speak with her for a couple of minutes to recognize how kind, intelligent and conscientious she is. Her instincts about people are also spot-on because she has surrounded herself with some of the best dental staff around. Brigitte and Diane are wonderful assistants and Michelle is the best dental hygienist I have ever had. I would be remiss if I didn't include Jennifer and Yim in my remarks. I had my semi-annual cleaning efficiently performed by Darlene, and the office staff had my billing submitted to my insurance before I left. I was very sad to hear that Dr Earle had passed away.
