I despise most dental offices for there cosmetic adds designed to make you feel ugly and in need of whitening. If you need to advertise fake clowns for your dental office you must not be a very good dentist. Hats off to West Ridge!!!!

I must post this everywhere. My boyfriend recommended West Ridge Family Dentistry to me after I moved here. Note that I have always been petrified of the dentist to the point of biting. I hate the dentist. But these guys, visit after visit, continue to make me love it. When I called to book my assessment, the intake specialist was a total sweetheart— when these guys found out who my boyfriend is I literally started feeling like I’m made of 14-karat diamond encrusted yellow gold set with freaking sapphires every time I go. Dr. Piercy is great. She is informative and knowledgeable, answering every question I have in extensive detail. These guys know their stuff— the “dentist lingo” used in that office is like Mandarin to me. I’m so impressed. That right there, was the first indicator that I could trust them. At the same visit I had the pleasure of speaking with the treatment coordinator— also a complete sweetheart. The staff is so great and they really worked with me to figure out financing all of this. On my second visit I was happy to meet Roger— super funny, also speaks that Mandarin dentist lingo; super cool. This is the first cleaning I’ve had where I didn’t have a sore mouth for a week. I wasn’t in pain at all. Not for a second. Literally I got the cleaning and as soon as I could eat I was like “STEAAAK!” when normally after a cleaning I’d be like “nope nope nope, kill me”. On my third visit was when things didn’t quite go as planned. This was when they really earned my trust (and their titles!): My boyfriend was paying for his treatments when I realized my lungs weren’t quite right. Within five minutes I wasn’t breathing. They helped me survive that day. They gave me more help than the hospital. Dr. Piercy and Dr. Collins, and... literally everyone, clients and all— dropped everything to take care of me. And for the short second that I could open my eyes that moment (I couldn’t see through them, damn tears), I looked at my love and I could feel myself sinking... watching the person you love give it everything they have in them to keep from breaking down is literally the worst possible thing... if it weren’t for Dr. Collins and Dr. Piercy I wouldn’t be alive. And if I was, I’d be on oxygen with one lung. I’m twenty years old, and some day, I want to graduate university, I want to marry that man, and I want tiny, half-me-half-love-of-my-life munchkins running around the house one day... thanks to them, I can do that. And when I do, West Ridge Family Dentistry is going to have a few more little hearts to steal— I guarantee they’ll do it instantly. Each and every one of those people has a place in our hearts, and honestly how could they not? My most recent visit was to speak with the treatment coordinator... she, like Dr. Piercy, has this soothing thing about her, I don’t know. They’re all just so easy to talk to. You can literally talk to these guys about anything, and they’ll do what they can. Aside from my dental treatments, Erin actually checked in with me since the accident to see how I’ve been doing because she hadn’t seen me since. And to be honest, that conversation is one I’ll keep close to me for good. You would be a fool not to give these people your business. And the day I leave Orillia is gonna be one sad day because we will have lost one hell of a group of humans. They have the biggest hearts in the entire world. They really do care, I don’t understand what all the complaints are about. For 20 years I used to flinch in the chair before they even did anything. But West Ridge Family Dentistry has literally been the best thing that has ever happened to us. They care about us and... truthfully, we care about them. All of them. It’s in the name guys. They aren’t a business to us. They’re family. Thank you, West Ridge Family Dentistry, for saving me... thank you... for giving me one last chance at happily ever after— because if it weren’t for all of you that day, June 21, 2020 would never come. I won’t be surprised if I tear up when I see Dr. Piercy. The day she moves on will be a huge loss.

Every staff member here is well trained in their respective profession and overall great. I found all the people, from the front desk to the chair very positive, professional and extremely good at their jobs. Everyone, from the initial phone receptionist to the dental assistant and dentist, was warm, helpful, compassionate and efficient. I thought I had cracked a tooth and was terrified of the pain a dental procedure might bring. They squeezed me in an appointment the same morning I called, x-rayed the afflicted area, explained options and detailed the costs (extremely reasonable) and then did an extraction quickly, and most importantly for me, pain-free. They even did a follow-up call to make sure my healing process was as expected. I honestly have not been to the dentist in over five years due to a previous bad experience with my former dentistry. But facing some serious dental problems finally caused me to break the cycle of ignoring and get some help. Jerry, Larry, and the team were truly amazing and have continued to be as I've now made the clinic my family's dentistry and have continued to see them for regular appointments now. The location is beautiful, even despite the COVID outfittings required. All of the Administrative staff are knowledgeable and compassionate, able to answer any questions I had. And the clinic actually has an online intake form that actually works! If you have any issues with anxiety about dentistry work, I would definitely recommend seeing Jerry or Larry for an honest assessment and direction moving ahead. I've never felt so assured about my dental hygiene and long term care. You can feel confident in the information and support you receive to make any decision that need to be made. Outstanding! After a botched root canal I was referred to Dr. Jerry Collins to fix it. I was scared of the surgery, but he was very kind, friendly and patient. He took the time to explain everything to me, was gentle and did an excellent job which caused no pain. Unlike other reviews, I did not feel like he rushed. He is truly skilled. Also, the staff were awesome and the office was flexible about payment. West Ridge Family Dentistry also offers nitrous oxide if you are nervous. Highly recommend!

During the pandemic I sudfered a broken tooth. West Ridge Dental was on the list of emergency dental offices open. From the first call in to the time I left I felt like I was a part of the family. They have all the safety measures in place and have cleaning products ready at the front desk. The office is so clean, the washroom spotless. The room I was in was tidy and clean. The staff made the tooth extraction painless and efficient. Also a great wheelchair ride back to my truck. If you have any dental pain, don't be afraid to call this office. I agree that Dr. Collins rushes his work. I had my wisdom teeth pulled and was under sedation but when he was on my last tooth I woke up out of sedation and passed out cause how how painful it was. I have one more procedure and after that I will be going to find a new dentist. My experience with staff in reception has been excellent, so far no complaints. One final comment on Dr. Collins is the emediate change in attitude towards myself when it came to explaining my financial situation and that was to find a a finanical plan that would work best for me because I am on a tight budget as I am a college student, his attitude turned to I wasnt as important as other clients who could afford. The only other thing I do not like is when you go in for a check up and its for 2 hours and unfortunately I don't have 2 hours to sit and wait while he trys to squeeze in ad many clients as possible. Just from pervious experiences I didn't see the point in seeing a hygienist which costs me $200 for them to take 2mins out of their day to explain to me how to brush my teeth, I refused and Dr.Collins got annoyed with me and I said that's two bad because once I get all my dental work done he was gonna send me to the hygienist AGAIN. I told him I know how to brush my teeth unfortunately living with depression and anxiety its harder to be able to take care of your self but I know how to brush my teeth I just wish they would stop tricking people into doing some of these procedures more than what is needed

Staff was friendly however I won't be back, it takes far too much time when my son and I went for consultations that I did not see as necessary since I already knew the procedure I needed and do not have the time to go back twice for dental work, when my previous dentist, would see me in and out the same day and do great work at the same time. Since I moved however, I needed a new dentist but now have to travel to my old dentist anyway. I think a procedure that didn't make much sense to me for my son, was costly and im not even sure was completely necessary. I think the clinic just wants clients to return for ongoing consultations for added costs, which I never experienced with two of my previous dentists. When I cancelled yet another unnecessary consultation, I was charged a cancellation fee. Another factor I never experience at my past dental clinic. Not very happy. In addition, the receptionist took far too long to make the appointments for me, when I was clearly in a rush. Having to meet with three or more staff members for various procedures was too time consuming.

Not happy with the care my son received. He had his wisdom teeth removed 4 impacted and his pain was not managed what so ever. He was stone sober and could have drove home. I was also charged with 2 types of pain management meds, that my insurance only covered one, the other came out of my pocket. I would not mind paying this extra cost if he had not went through horrific pain during the procedure. Won't be back.

Dr. Sarah Piercy is by far THE BEST DENTIST that I have ever had the joy of meeting. From wonderful bedside manner, understanding my financial situation to dictate what I can get done and to ability in procedure to be pain-free, 5 stars!! I've had a long history of tooth problems and painful situations and procedures, poor attitude dentist from childhood that really terrified me. I have never had as good as an experience as I did yesterday with Dr. Piercy! NO PAIN AT ALL to have a filling replaced!! From the point of needles to freeze (what needles? I didn't feel anything), to the 'pillow' in my jaw to relax the muscles from opening my mouth, the whole procedure was just Perfect 10. Way to go! Definitely, I will be going back to her to get more work done as soon as possible. I have a lot I have yet to accomplish and Dr. Piercy will be with me, going forward. I'm looking forward to my next appointment!

No compassion from receptionist. I will not go there or recommend this place because of her. I would give it zero stars but I had to pick one in order to post this message. I am newer to the area and in need of a regular dentist. I called this office in severe pain from an absess that came on rapidly. Unfortunately I do not have any dental coverage, so my huge concern is cost. I am a low income-self employed single person struggling finacially especially through covid. I am nervous going to a dentist and that has become worse since mine retired years ago. I had called many dental offices in Orillia but none had an opening, or I left a message on their machine. I had found out costs along the way from kind receptionists. WestRidge is more expensive than the other places I spoke with, but they were the only place at that time that had an opening. After I explained my situation and mentioned how much another price was, I was rudely told the dentists set their own prices and charge what ever they want and it was they who were accomodating me and willing to see me when they were so busy with their own patients. Being talked to like that, while suffering made my dental anxiety soar through the roof. There was no way I was going there after that. I said thank you for your time and hung up. Luckily I received a phone call back shortly after from Lakeside Family Dentistry and they were so wonderful, patient, understanding and very kind. They took the time to help expain my options. They made me feel very comfortable. i would definately go there again.

April 20, 2021. Even with heavy duty pain killers, the offending incisor would not let me sleep. I had never been to West Ridge Family Dentistry. They took me right away even though they were busy. I could plainly see the problem in the X-ray. Dr. Piercy a patient, intelligent princess gave me two options, root canal or extraction. I chose extraction for my stained, worn 70 year old ivory.. She hummed soothingly and proceeded gently. I asked for pain killers and she wrote a script. On the way home, I was quite uncomfortable but the freezing came out and an hour later there was a slight coagulated depression. All of my teeth that were uncomfortable in sympathy, acted normal. No pain whatsoever. Thank you to Dr. Piercy and the two assistants for an enjoyable 40 minutes and 15 or 20 not so enjoyable but not excruciating. I was not expecting an immediate return to normal . I very rarely post a review but I feel so unexpectedly great that I couldn’t resist. When paying my bill I was shocked that it was 3/4 of the cost to which I agreed. But then, they want to make sure that if there are complications that they are not paying for the work. Thank you again.

Yesterday I called Westridge Dental as my family doctor had referred me to them because they are the only open dental clinic taking emergency appointments at this time. My doctor had prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days which I finished and it did take care of the abscess on my gum, but unfortunately I have another abscess or something so my doctor said it would be best to see a dentist. So upon her recommendation I called Westridge Dental. I explained my situation and the receptionist was pleasant and willing to schedule an appointment. At that point I said “Great! I just want to let you know I have ODSP benefits.” Her whole demeanour changed and she said “We don’t take ODSP Benefits, so you would have to pay for the appointment.” So I said “You are the only dental clinic open right now for emergency appointments and my doctor recommended you.” She said “We can see you but you would need to pay for the appointment.” So I said “Unfortunately I do not have an extra couple hundred of dollars, so I guess I’ll just deal with the pain.” She said “Okay”. I understand that no dental clinic has to take ODSP benefits....however in this time when they are the ONLY dental clinic open in Orillia....It would have been nice if they could have at least tried to offer services to everyone. So thankfully my amazing dentist called me back and has set me up with an emergency appointment even though they aren’t open. Why? Oh because they care. My advice to Westridge Dental is: It is not good business practice to deny part of the community services when they are having a dental emergency. Especially when you are the ONLY dental clinic open. Please review your “quality assurance” recorded phone calls and maybe coach or train staff to be more empathetic to not just me but anyone else calling in that doesn’t have regular benefits through an employer because they are sick and unable to work....

I am a big coward when it comes to dentistry, so it says a lot that I trusted Dr Collins to redo all the fillings that I had (from amalgam to the white kind). He also fixed a lot of problem with previous crowns and root canals. I originally went in for an infection and root canal. My old dentist was referring me to an out of town specialist and it world take a month before the consultation let alone the treatment. I was seen at West Ridge the same day and a plan was put in place. I was so impressed with my first visits I had all my dental work redone. It’s great knowing that whatever I need it can be done in the same office. My hygienist Kristen is terrific too. I always see the same hygienist so the care is that much more personal. All of the office staff too are very knowledgeable and kind. I have also seen other dentists in the clinic for emergencies and all have been terrific. (I have always been seen seen the same day for emergencies) I can’t say enough great things about this clinic.

I have had three root canals done by Dr. Jerry Collins in the last two years. The staff was quite excellent to deal with and explained all steps upfront before anything was done. They also provided detailed quotes for work and explained in detail. I have had need to access the office quickly which the staff readily accommodated me. This was greatly appreciated in the case of work needed last minute before a vacation. Dr. Collins work was exceptional and I have not experienced any complications. His preliminary assessment identified items that my former dentist did not address. My teeth and myself feel great after the good work by Westridge Dentistry. I recommend them to all.

West Ridge Family Dentistry is the best dentist in town! They have the most friendly, knowledgeable, and caring staff. I have had many procedures, and each one was made comfortable and pretty much pain free! I am not afraid of going to the dentist any more. In fact my husband and granddaughter go there now too. An added bonus is that they can do everything there! One stop ! Including braces! Thank you all for a great experience.

My daughter is 3yr and today was her very first cleaning. She saw Roger, and he was absolutely amazing!!! He walked her through each step, kept her calm and talked to her the entire time. She didn’t reach or call for me once (I was in the room, just not in her view) which I was expecting she would have. I’ve had a very bad experience going to a dentist in the past and when I woke up Sunday morning with a horrible tooth ache I was hesitant on going to see a dentist. I requested an appointment and the reception got in contact with me ASAP and a couple hours later I had a phone appointment with Dr. Lawrence St. Pierre and a scheduled emergency appointment the next day. Not knowing what I was going into wether I was getting my tooth pulled or just looked at I was very nervous. From the moment I walked in the reception was VERY friendly and Dr. Lawrence St. Pierre and Roger ended up having to extract 2 teeth and they were sympathetic and very comforting throughout the entire process and contacted me the next day personally to check in on me as I was in a lot of pain and worried about bruising when I left. I have never experienced such amazing customer service. You can tell Dr. Lawrence St. Pierre and Roger genuinely care about the well being and comfort of their patients!

I went to Dr. Collins practice on a referral from my dentist as I needed to have a tooth extracted that had been causing me a lot of pain and discomfort and my dentist was not doing surgeries due to COvid 19. They quickly got me an appointment and I went in, they froze me, and they talked me through what was going to happen and what I would feel. I was probably literally only in the chair for 10 minutes and they were able to extract my tooth whole, no drilling. I paid a very reasonable fee, and post surgery have felt no pain or discomfort as a result of their successful tooth extraction. Will definitely be back if I need any more surgeries (hopefully I don’t haha).

I have attended and been treated at West Ridge Dentistry twice recently. On both occasions I have been welcomed and treated very well. On the first appointment there were many safely features in place. By the second appt. safety measures were slightly more relaxed. I still felt well protected from Covid 19. On both occasions I was treated by Dr. St. Pierre and his assistant. The dentist performed several treatments on one appt. where I believe previous dentists would have dragged out the no. Of appts. I have one more appt. to bring my work needed to completion. I’ve found their charges to be fair and they do not take advantage of my dental plan. I was referred there a number of years ago by my regular dentist as the dentist there was more knowledgeable regarding a conflicted dental and medical problem I had. A tooth was removed safely. Although I have only had 3 or 4 appts. at West Ridge I am happy to recommend as my current dentist.

There is this one lady that works at the front desk and she is kinda rude to the customers (You can tell she hates her job). She sassed me one time because I did not call ahead and tell them I was coming in for an emergency (I didn't know you had to call them before emergencies). I also think it is highly unprofessional for someone to scold their employees in front of a patient.

I have been a patient of this office for a few years now as a result of my previous dentist retiring. I have found Dr. Jerry Collins to be a very good dentist. He takes the time to answer/explain any concerns I might have. Roger is great as well, as he also explains what he is doing and why and providing advice on how to properly care for your teeth even though I do not take it all. Staff are friendly efficient and really appear to care about clients. They follow up the next day to see if everything is still okay which not many do. If any problem does arise, your concerns are addressed and taken care of immediately. One drawback for me is the distance, but it is worth the trip to Orillia!

The WORST extraction I have ever had!!! Dr. Collins was in such a hurry to get to his next victim, he pulled my wisdom tooth out without letting the freezing set up. The worst pain ever, and he didn't stop when I grunted and kicked my feet...just kept pulling on an unfrozen tooth. Ended up with complications after, but would never go back to this place again.
