They were very busy, in fact too busy. Their staff is friendly, but they were so busy they were unable to provide us with good care. I asked the receptionist about a referral wait time and she told me the opposite of what the doctor later told me. And when I asked for a referral for my child, who was there to get fillings, due to them not offering nitrous oxide, the dentist quickly filled out the paperwork and it seemed as if he couldn't go soon enough. I understand they were running behind, and that he was in a hurry, but it was very offsetting.

Victoria Court Dental and the staff are in our opinion the best in Colchester. All the staff is great so nice and friendly and knowledgeable, and they girls at the front desk go beyond to give you the answers you need while contacting with insurance companies who are always so pleasant and easy to work with. The hygenists are always busy bees with smiles on their faces who make my kids full so at ease when they climb into the chair considering they have been going since they were 2. They are very talkative and easy going the kids love them and them remember them which is great because the kids don't have to get use to new people. They also remember when the kids were small as well and remake about how short a time its been and how big they are, which makes you feel at home. Thank you ladies!!! Our dentist is Dr Daya we have seen the Dr Rixs and Dr Makkar a few times and they a great, but me think Dr Daya is the Man. He is so great with the kids he lets them talk and ask question and explains things to them. He also didn't flinch to much when one of the boys throw up on him a few years back.. Good Job. Plus their state or the art equipment and knowledge how could you go wrong.

My recent visits (3) to VC Dental was pleasant as usual. Under the circumstances with Covid there operation is smooth. Lady at front door is very pleasant, (she needs a name tag so we know her name) , she makes the visit uncomplicated with her pleasant & welcoming manner. All the staff are great, careful and they make the nexperiece easy. Dr. Makkar is awesome and always has a hhumorous quip for you if you ask a silly question. Over all experience: Couldn't be better. Given the reputation of this dental clinic, I was expecting more. The staff wasn't particularly friendly and I have been asked if I wanted polishing & fluoride treatment as if this was covered by my insurance. I had to pay at the end of the appointment for extra charges. I would recommend be to more transparent with clients in the future. I'm not sure if I would return to this clinic in the future.

Brutal, worst experience of my life. Needed to get a tooth repair and they didn't even polish once finished. Needing to book an appointment with different dentist to assess the damage they have done over the years.... I do understand you are busy, and backed up because of CovID precautions, however this doesn't excuse the complete lack of communication and consent. I am a person albeit terrified of the dentist (perhaps for good reason) and I demand that kind of care / respect. After this visit I feel more like a commodity. Very un-Impressed and feel violated.

Having appointment for someone who hate the dentist isn't always easy, but when you have some liquid courage and you get to the dentist and they ask you if you would like the gas (whatever they offer you when you can be a little uneasy, mostly children. I love the people at VDC, but Dr. Makkar and Keltie are my favourite! They both took care of me when I had 2 abscessed teeth in less then a month. I was suffering from a lot of pain from my abscess and Dr. Makkar went out of his way to make sure I was ok and I got the help I needed (this was on a weekend not during office hours and he didn't have to do this). VDC also worked with me to figure out a payment plan that I could handle. I always feel like I'm going to get the best possible serive and care when I am there!

This was my 3rd visit to this clinic. The first 2 were fine except I had to wait for an hour and a half for my first appointment. This time I was getting a filling and the freezing needle caused me excruciating pain. The first shot was almost unbearable and the second shot was even worse. I have had many freezings over the past 70 years and have never had pain like this. For the first time ever I am afraid to go to the dentist.

I was recommended to the Victoria Court Dental Clinic and when I had an issue with one of my teeth they got me in that same afternoon. Since covid I hadn't had my teeth looked at during 2020 until mid July 2021 and I was also due for a cleaning. Luckily I was acommodated for this as well a few hours later. The staff took this information well and made sure he felt secure and safe. The women cleaning his teeth took extra time to find him all the pink and purple tooth brushes to choose from when she found out those were his favourite colours. When the Dentist came in, he took the time to be sure his interactions with my son were as positive as possible. When I had a second question, he came back to be sure he'd answered them all. Victoria Court Dental was quick to get my son in when he decided to do a face plant off of his desk at school. He’s a hockey player and well his carelessness at school knocked out his two front teeth and really made him look the part. Within no time not ever having any dental work done other then a cleaning the team at VCD gave my son his smile back without looking the part of his favourite sport. They were very prompt and worked well with him. We don’t recommend not sitting in your seat properly at school but we highly recommend taking your dental needs to VCD!

I had jaw problem first time to visit this place that gave me a non-professional feeling. The nurse took a X-ray for my teeth. To my surprised, the doctor never asked what my situation was. Instead he subjected me to take a surgery with my mother teeth and make another new cast. He asked me that "Do you want to do the surgery today or make another appointment?" But currently my jaw was still suffering from paining, and I couldn't even eating as well. I didn't know how he could do a surgery on my teeth right away. I thought he would give me some prescriptions to relief my pain first, but not... I couldn't get any common sense from this doctor.

I was told by dental hygienist at another dental office that I had a cavity starting behind my two front teeth. It was going to be 3 months or more to have it looked at. I made an appointment at Victoria Court Dental to have it repaired. My appointment was within a couple of weeks. I was delighted to have someone look at it so quickly. The day of my appointment came quickly, an x-ray was taken, Dr. Makkar took a look at it and to my relief there was no cavity, just staining deep in the enamel. I was so happy. This office is highly professional, prompt, efficient. Their Covid-19 protocols are above any government requirement. I would not hesitate to visit this Dental practice again. As for my former dental hygienist and that dental office, I will not be returning there for another cleaning. I will continue with Victoria Court Dental and Dr. Makkar. Due to intolerance for sedatitive .. My son and I decided to consult with Dr Rix concerning Joshs wisdom teeth. We decided to have his wisdom teeth extracted by Dr Rix as they came above the gums. First exteaction complete. Thankful Josh felt no pain and was a more pleasant experience than travelling to Halifax. A +.

Staff are friendly and wait times are not too bad. But... I had recently went in with an issue with one of my teeth... It was completely ignored. Attended to another tooth that I did not have problems with at the time, drilled, and filled. She did not clean the excess off and now it is like my 2 molars has become 1 as I cannot floss now... Very disappointed. I don't think my family and I will be coming back. Very unfortunate.

I recommend VCD to anyone! When I was 37 weeks pregnant I went in with horrible tooth pain. The dentists made sure to calm my nerves several times as I was nervous about xrays, needles,etc. I ended up needing to go for a several more appointments for root canal and stuff and they would always know me by my name when I walked in and where very friendly. Give them 10 out of 10!!
