Very nice and friendly staff. Booking appointments are tuff to get in though. The only area I can see that needs improvement would be the communication between the dentists and the front staff doing the booking as the dentist will say we should be able to get you in and the front desk will say nope every time. Thankfully cancelations have come through every time and gotten me in earlier.

Our family has been going to Herring Cove Dentistry since the kids were small. Dr. Livingstone was great in dealing with their trepidation when they were young and now that they are in their late teens, it's no big deal when they have to go to the dentist. The staff is super friendly and on the few occasions that we've needed an emergency appointment, they've been wonderful about squeezing us in. Highly recommend!

Dr. Fraser is an excellent dentist- he had gentle technique and I definitely felt I could trust his judgment and recommendations. Moved to Halifax somewhat recently. Had my first apt with Herring Cove Dental in April 2021 and they were very thorough. Went above and beyond a basic cleaning and check up. They also measured the depth of my gum line in three places per tooth in order to make sure there are no gum recessions to keep an eye on in future visits. Thanks and see you in 6 months ????

I am a senior and never had dental care when I was a child. Now I am paying for it unfortunately. Dr. Fraser is my dentist and I have to say he is excellent at his job. In my adult life I have tried others and they weren't bad but I had no bench mark to measure this until now. He is gentle, uses the perfect amount of anesthetic and he checks with me during the extraction or root canal to make sure I am not in any undue pain. The anesthetic wears off quickly after the procedure without any horrible twinges I experienced years ago. I can honestly say he has been the best dentist I've ever had. I would highly recommend him.

I was recently referred to Herring Cove Community Dentistry by a friend. I initially decided to deal with them because my friend, knowing my mobility issues said they are easily accessible. It's a quick walk from the car to the door of the office. They're her dentist and she believes they are excellent dentists and very calming and reassuring. I had my first appointment a couple of days ago. Their receptionist, when I called for an appointment was very easy to talk to and I explained what I needed to have done and that I was on the quick card program through provincial assistance as I'm permanently disabled. She was very informative and told me what would happen and that they work with DCS clients to provide dental services without charging any additional fees over what is covered by DCS other than one charge of $100 that goes toward the dentures. I met with Rita first, the RDA, who conducted my intake, examined my teeth and did the x-rays. She, again, explained what the receptionist told me about the care I would receive over a number of visits and reassured me that they keep the costs to the bare minimum for people who are clients of DCS. Then I met with Dr Livingstone, the dentist that owns the practice. She explained the plan to deal with my many broken teeth and provide me with dentures. She offered a couple of options for me. Rita and Dr Livingstone were both very pleasant, kind, caring and compassionate. They show genuine concern and compassion for someone like me who has poor dental health and few options. She was very accommodating, knowing that I was highly anxious about this whole procedure and said that if it would make me more comfortable she could schedule the extractions at the hospital where I could undergo sedation out have it done at their office. Getting dental care is very cost prohibitive when you're only covered for emergency dental care through DCS. They do not cover preventative care such as regular cleaning and Collins's when cavities are small and easily filled. They only cover the costs up to, roughly, 70%. That means a person on assistance pays about $40 per tooth extraction. That means I would have to pay $400 to extract the 10 teeth that need to be removed and that is not counting x-rays, dentures and any other costs involved. As I understand it dentures can cost somewhere between $1500-2500. I didn't know what I was going to be able to do. I have never heard of any dentist being so generous. I did have another dentist and he was kind enough to allow me to run up a bill that I could pay what I was able to pay when I could. But most dentists expect same day payment, and I don't blame them. They're entitled to be paid for their services. The fact that Dr Livingstone is willing, upfront, to write off any costs over and above what DCS is willing to pay speaks volumes to me about her genuine concern for the dental health of her clients. That's practically unheard of!!! I look forward to working with Dr Livingstone and her staff to get my dental health under control. Despite an experience I had with my daughter and a very abusive dentist when she was 12, and my own fear of dental procedures, I really feel that I have made the right decision in trusting my care to Dr Livingstone.

My dental hygienist was the gentlest I have ever had and she had a great sense of humour. She answered all of my many questions or patiently and with detail. You can tell that the dentists are passionate about what they do. Mine was kind of excited that I have a rare dental anomaly called talon cusps. He took the be time to explain what that meant. No dentist had ever told me before and I have been going for over 30 years. The ladies at reception were very kind and answered all of my questions regarding cost and how my benefits worked with their services. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a new dental office.

Great experience for both of my kids. Davika is a wonderful professional hygenisy that is so so good with children (mine are 6 and almost 3). Dentist was lovely and friendly. Beautiful space, we felt comfortable and not scared! A few days later I went for my own check up. My first experience with a water pic pre-cleaning and it was wonderful. Davika did a very thorough scaling and cleaning on my teeth and avoided all of my sensitive spots. She kept me calm and relaxed the whole time and provided friendly conversation. Dr Fraser is also very warm and kind, gentle and thorough. The big shout-out; however, goes to Davika. She is a treasure and I hope her employers know how rare it is to find someone that is so passionate about their work and their clients, so versatile in her approach. Kudos to Davika! As long as she is at Herrinng Cove Dental so will we.

I choose here to become our family dentist clinic! Here is the best clinic, dentists are so nice and knowledgeable, they explain everything in detail. they think about their patients instead of just making money. The front desk staff are so friendly. And all dental assistants are nice and do everything so carefully and quickly, they will explain what they will do to you. They also treat my baby so great, my baby love here also, when she gets the teeth check, she doesn’t cry, she can even watch cartoons.
