The thought of going to the dentist raises the hackles in most of us. However Complete Family Dentistry in Halifax has gone a long way in alleviating much of the stress and worry when it comes to those needed trips to the dentist. My appointments have been consistently on time, never late and that is something that is extremely difficult to ensure and maintain especially in these days. The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate and is particularly efficient with initiating external referrals to specialists. My experience with my dentist Dr. Atima Kamra has always been superb. She is extremely skilled and takes the extra step to ensure your comfort and address concerns you might have. She has always been a dedicated and conscientious dentist who follows up personally when referrals are required or a particular procedure has been difficult. Dr. Carmichael and Dr. Akeemi have both seen me when my situation was urgent and Dr. Kara was unavailable and both exhibited the same caring and skillful manner of their coworker, Dr Kamra. I cannot say enough good things about this practice. If you have to go to the dentist, this practice goes the extra mile to provide you with top notch service in every aspect!

I am 30 years old and have had perfect dental health my whole life, the only issues I have had were minor cracks that were filled when I was around 18. I went to a new dentist (with good reviews) they said I have no cavities at all and my wisdom teeth are fine. WTF, these folks want to make quick money I guess

I had my broken crown (not originally done here) replaced with the final crown in under 3 hours. New technology that laser measures all around the spot where the crown goes and this mills down a square material to my tooth measurements and is baked at 900^ and then cemented into place. A PERFECT FIT. Dr.Nickerson is awesome. He's very personable and lets you know whats coming next and knows about the latest technology. The front staff are very friendly and efficient. The dental assistants are very friendly and knowledgeable. Complely happy experience.

After recently moving to the city in May, and reading the great reviews Complete Dentistry has on Google, I decided to choose Complete Dentistry for my dental needs. From my free consult with Jessica (who was an absolute delight), to my cleaning with one of the hygienist (who was also wonderful, but due to my nerves I’m afraid I didn’t catch her name), I have had nothing but great experiences. I also met with Dr. Nickerson, who was kind, and thorough in explaining to me what I needed done as far as dental work goes, as well as facilitating a conversation where I felt my concerns and points were also being heard and taken into consideration. I would strongly recommend this dentist office if you have a fear of going to the dentists, as the staff make the experience much easier. Also, the free consultations they offer are very informative, and they don’t sugar coat anything or try to push sales of services on you that you won’t be able to afford.

I must say, it’s been along time since I left a dental office smiling. Complete surpassed all of my expectations from the moment I was greeted by their friendly staff at the front desk, to the moment I left with my smile restored. Dr. Crosby fixed, with confidence, the oversights and negligent work of previous dentists and bonded two teeth with udder perfection that other dentists insisted I place veneers or crowns upon. His assistant Sheryl is just an absolute delight and both worked spectacular together, providing a surprisingly relaxed and comfortable appointment. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Crosby and Sheryl to anyone!!!

I had terrible experiences with dentists as a child and then had an emergency extraction while on vacation that just about put me off dentists for life!! Dr. Crosby is so kind and so knowledgeable and so understanding of the psychological after effects I was feeling that my dental phobia is completely a thing of the past! He really knows his stuff and listens when a mystery pain presents!! I live 2 hours away but would not trust anyone else!! They saw me on very short notice and worked around my schedule even though it was such short notice. They discribe everything they are doing in detail and how it's going to feel. They check on your comfort levels regularly. They are professional and still personable. They work fast and Dr. Croft saw other things wrong but wasnt pushy about it, even though my teeth are garbage. Receptionists I found to be a little unengaged and stuck up but rest of the team is amazing.

Complete Family Dentistry has very nice facilities and provided really good care. Dr Nickerson went through my x-rays with me and made sure I understood all aspects of my dental health and care. The hygienist did a very thorough job with scraping and cleaning, and explained what she was doing at every stage. I even got a choice of toothpaste and fluoride flavours. I would recommend checking your dental insurance coverage because the services they provide can be pricey.

Not only did they fix my issue but they made me feel 100% comfortable and didn’t give me the usual lecture I feel like it when I go to a dentist. My husband and I were referred to this practice by friends who highly recommended it, and we were not disappointed. From the beginning administrative details and scheduling of our first appointments to the billing for the visit, frontline staff was excellent... efficient, flexible and understanding. As we were coming from out of town, on our request, we were booked for simultaneous appointments. The hygienist, Stephanie, was recommended (again, by our friends), and she looked after my cleaning. Aside from her being just a lovely person, she was excellent at her job. I am a “white-knuckler” even for a cleaning as I have some sensitive teeth that will, without fail, send me through the roof when touched by the metal instruments. This was the first time EVER that it didn’t happen. Thank you, Stephanie! We have not seen the dentist we were referred to yet, but assume that she will be as equally skilled.

In my experience and opinion, Dr. Crosby will recommend medically unnecessary work. Unfortunately, he botched an unnecessary porcelain inlay several years back (he said the existing filling was too big). The experience resulted in 3 root canals on the same tooth and several years of ongoing issues and discomfort (Dr. Crosby messed up two of the three root canals up – the 3rd was done correctly by a specialist). His practice in Hammond Plains closed down in the middle of the mess, and he has practiced at 4 different locations since 2011 (that I know of). His own assistant warned me during a filling that “most dentists wouldn’t even bother doing a filling on a cavity this small”.

Too much BS - switching dentists I needed a lower molar pulled and, despite having sedation dentistry advertised, they didn't feel the need to discuss it even after me saying that needles make me very nervous. Apparently it was up to me to bring it up before the traumatic experience of having my tooth pulled. Secondly, I appreciate that ideally you should have the gap filled in for structural integrity at some point, but they then proceeded to use scare tactics and told me that if I didn't spend thousands of dollars within the next 6 months, the upper tooth would automatically grow into fill the gap. WTF?! My mother has had numerous teeth pulled over the years and nothing like that has happened. (I have NEVER seen anyone with a pulled tooth and a corresponding "beaver tooth" growing in.) As well, my husband went in to have a chipped tooth fixed and also came home with estimates well into the thousands of dollars. We go to the dentist regularly and take care of our teeth, but every time I go here, I am astonished at the over-priced checkups and the BS. A great place to go if you have wads of cash to throw at outrageous procedures, but we're switching to someone more reasonable. The only reason it doesn't have one star is because they have wonderful dental hygienists there.

I was really impressed with the level of service by the staff at Complete Family Dentistry. I went in fairly nervous from previous dental experiences when I was a child, but they were very kind and accommodating. Stephanie took care of me majority of the time, explained each step of my appointment, and even showed me my own xrays (and explained them to me!) because I was curious about them. My daughter has sensory issues and some anxiety and everyone is always so patient with her. They don’t make her feel like her anxieties are silly and unnecessary and she always leaves happy. 100% recommend.

I was in need of finding a dentist in Halifax after having a surfing accident. I had no family dentist previously because I had just moved to Halifax one year ago. The entire team at Complete Family Dentistry has been amazing. I have no insurance so they always go over cost with me ahead of time and the dentist I've been seeing has amazing bedside manners and is always telling his assistants how much he appreciates them, which I find so lovely to see and hear when I'm there. 10/10 would recommend!

My fiance had a consult there in December for bridge and I just can't believe anyone goes there. They say their prices are average and the same as everywhere else but it 100% is not. They quoted us upwards od 3500$ for a bridge while my dentist quoted us 2500$. Also, the price of the cleaning that my fiance got was outrageous, 375$!!! I got the exact same thing done at my dentist for 175$, to which our insurance covered 100%(up to 400$ per year). They charged him 75$ regardless. Not to mention the customer service from the ladies is the front is non existent. They were suppose to call and book the bridge when the insurance quote came back but they never did and when we called to follow up they were nothing but rude. I 100% do not recommend going there. Way over priced.

I found CFD when my husband had a tooth emergency and our previous dentist would not find a time slot for him. They took us in right away and everything went perfect. They are professional and organized, and the space is very well maintained. They have everything they need on site you are never sent elsewhere for X-rays or anything. We feel very lucky to have found them.

If anyone has a fear of the dentist chair like me - even just for simple cleanings - then you need to go see STEPHANIE at Complete Family Dentistry!! Stephanie is very passionate about her job and about making you feel comfortable at all times and it shows with her kind, patient and considerate manner. From the moment I walked in she helped me feel at ease and she even had some tricks up her sleeve to help alleviate any pain or discomfort which I had never been offered before - and what a difference it made....as a matter of fact, when she told me I had to come back the next day to finish, I was actually happy to return - not stressed out and anxious like I always had been before which was an amazing feeling!! Everyone here is awesome from the front desk staff to my wonderful dentist (Dr. Crosby) but this shout out is going to my absolute favorite hygienist Stephanie - you are an angel and I sincerely thank you and I am actually truly looking forward to my next visit.....oh, and by the way - you can never retire now...LOL!!! I needed to find a new dentist near me since I moved to Halifax from the Valley, and decided on Complete Family Dentistry due to the positive rating/reviews I found online. I am so glad I chose to come here! I had an initial exam and a cleaning done and every person I came in to contact with that worked there was so friendly and professional. Antonia was so nice, and made me feel comfortable by checking in to see how I was doing while examining/cleaning my teeth. I actually learned some things too, as she explained to me what she was doing at times and told me some things about MY teeth specifically. Dr. Nickerson was also very nice and professional when he came in to check up on me. They were both great at answering any questions I may have had. Another girl at the front desk was making conversation with me as she took my payment, and she was very kind as well (didn't get her name). Usually people leave the dentist unhappy because they just paid someone to poke at their teeth and gums for an hour or two and they're sore and in pain... but I left today with a big (very clean) smile on my face due to the staff that work there. This is the best experience I've ever had at the dentist by far, and I will definitely come here again the next time I need dental work/cleanings.

Dr Kamara is great ,she went out of her way to get my crown correct to hopefully prevent future issues. She knows I am not a big fan of needles but she does such a good job I usually feel nothing. Her assistant appears on top of things which helps a lot .The front end staff are friendly and helpful. I am glad we followed Dr Kamara from the last place she worked.
