Dr. Peyman Safari-Pour, Heidi and and the team did a great job completing a recent root canal. Although no one wants to go through this procedure, they made it painless and comfortable. They even managed to squeeze me into their busy schedule knowing I was in some discomfort. Dr. S has incorporated the latest surgical equipment that is amazing. This is a very professional team right through to their front line staff who knows how to manage the billing and scheduling with ease. Go there, you won’t be disappointed.

I visited McKay because of a broken tooth I had. After examining, he somehow decided to start working on my teeth from the ones which had the least urgency. Well, what about fixing the broken one before it causes infection in the mouth?! He was supposed to be open to communication, and identifying and hearing out what the patient needs first. The staff was also unbelievable since they canceled my early morning appointment by ASSUMING that I wouldn't go. There are so many clinics out there who pay attention to the patients' needs and respect the patients' schedules by not canceling the appointments just because they assume you won't go. I definitely don't recommend this ridiculous clinic.

I've been coming to IQ Dental since I was a toddler (20ish years) and I can honestly say it's always been a brilliant experience. As a toddler, my experience made me excited to go the dentist, and as an adult my experience has made me eager to deligently come back on a regular basis. All the hygienists, the dentists, and the receptionists are insanely lovely, kind, gentle, thorough and very helpful. Dr. Safari-Pour and Dr. McKay are both super kind, upbeat, and enthusiastic for their work. They both always do a brilliant job - thorough, but gentle and painless. I most recently had Esi as my hygienist, and he was an absolute delight to work with! He really went above and beyond to make it a positive and informative appointment. I learned a lot about my brushing technique, maintenance of oral health and more. He really made my day with his bubbly personality, helpful tips and tricks, excellent cleaning, and humour to put the cherry on top. Left with a smile haha

If I could rate zero stars, I would. This man is completely impersonal and unhelpful. I have never had a cavity in my life. When I called to make an appointment, I asked for 2 specific things: "My gums are swollen, please help" and "I need new retainers." $1000 dollars later, my gums still hurt. In fact, they're worse. He even tried selling me even more pointless things regarding a NIGHT GUARD. He is a horrible salesman, and the freaking hygienist never even cleaned my teeth properly. $350 for a cleaning, and I STILL HAVE TARTAR ON A FRONT TOOTH. I have asked many people, and a cleaning without insurance is only $150 usually, and they ACTUALLY CLEAN the teeth. This man is awful. He didn't spend more than 3 minutes in the office with me. Not only did they not fix my gums, but they made me make 2 more appointments to make mouldings for my teeth regarding the mouth guard, when my initial appointment was supposed to be for that. They are awful money grabbers who help NO ONE. My gums hurt so much and I've never had any problems before in my 22 years of life. I have healthy straight teeth with never even one cavity and he cannot even help that. Can you imagine someone who actually has a bigger problem? Do not see this man. I have to spend MORE money on another dentist.Hopefully they are competent , unlike SOME people. I just thought I'd save some people some time and money. I promise you, anyone who gives a good review works there or has been bribed. Thank you.

Doctor Terry McKay has been our dentist for many years. He is truly a very professional. My wife had a nasty fall a couple of weeks ago and lost her two upper front teeth, Terry was at our house early the next morning to examine her and start a plan of recovery. Doctor McKay is a gifted tooth artist, we so appreciate his expertise and caring.Three weeks later she feels and looks so much better. The staff at IQ were very focused to Covid -19 safety which put our minds at ease. Thank you Doctor McKay

I was referred to Dr. McKay through a friend of mine. I have a bit of a fear of dentists but my experience at McKay's office was completely pain free and enjoyable. The staff were all very friendly and informative. He has a lot of impressive equipment I haven't seen at other offices (yes, I have been through a number of dentists) like this machine that shines a light between the teeth to show cavities rather than having to be exposed to radiation through a regular X-ray. The receptionist was very knowledgable regarding insurance coverage which is a big help for me. I was seen on time and left happy. Would highly recommend Dr. McKay to my friends and fam.

I have not seen a dentist in years due to stubbornness and terrible experiences in the past but my partner HIGHLY recommended IQ Dental (Terry McKay to be exact). Now.. I hate to admit my boyfriend was right but my goodness I was blown away by their quality of service and care! Not only are they safe and sanitary (in the year of 2020 that is a big thing) they are just overall a wonderful group of people. I had the pleasure of meeting a few of the staff including Roxanne the receptionist who makes you feel like your in your own living room with her warm personality, Heidi the hygienist/dentist who was absolutely lovely, patient and kindhearted (thanks for the lip balm for my chapped lips, wow so sweet) and the famous Terry McKay I've heard so many good things about and can 100% agree they are all true. Not only did he figure out the problem within minutes but what would be safe for me as I'm currently pregnant. I am so grateful for this dentist practice and the wonderful people in it. As someone who "hated dentists", I've certainly changed my tune and will only be coming here. Thank you again to all the staff! Highly recommend to anyone who is stubborn like me or even just curious in finding a new place for a simple cleaning. I can confidently say between the service and the personalities you will not find a better place on the North Shore.

Dr. McKay and his team are professional, experienced, and welcoming. I recently had my old filling replaced by Dr. McKay. Being extreme afraid of needles, I told him about my concern at the start. He needed to freeze my teeth and had to make about 6 injections around my gum. He told me exactly what he was gonna do and how I was going to feel. He did it so slowly that I had zero pain. When he told me I would feel a “pinch” on 2 spots and that was exactly what I felt. I am very impressed with the entire experience. His team is also very efficient. My insurance claim is always handled by them before I am finished with the appointment. Highly recommend!

I have been a patient of Dr. McKay's for many years now.. Recently I broke a front lower tooth for the third time over as many years. Finally I realized that I needed a better solution to really fix it properly. So today I had a veneer and could not be happier. It makes such a difference when you can smile with confidence! Dr. McKay always takes time to explain everything to me, and I appreciate his caring manner. I am admittedly, a terrible patient, and he puts up with my issues kindly. I have total confidence in his practice, and his staff are always accommodating and could not be any nicer. If there were 10 stars I would give them gladly. Thanks to Dr. McKay and team for always going above and beyond.

I met Dr. McKay by 'chance' back in the early 90's on a flight from Toronto just at a time I was looking for a 'new' dentist. Since my childhood I've been prone to cavities and have had a lot a work done over the years, but it was Dr. McKay, who for the first time, explained to me the reasons of my dental challenges and was able to address them in practical terms with lasting results. Not only does he keep himself up to date with very latest research, but also implements the latest technologies and products in his practice. After my first visit, I knew I found a very good dentist and within a short time I came to acknowledge that he is one of the BEST!! In 2001 I moved to California, but I still come back to Vancouver twice a year to see him for my dental care, as would not trust anyone else. MANY THANKS Dr. McKay!!!

Dr. McKay and his staff are incredible! I have been to see him for over ten years, and would recommend him to all who desire the best care for their oral hygiene. The staff are positive, caring, and warm professionals who are efficient and knowledgeable. Dr. McKay is a kind, patient-centered practitioner. He is considerate and listens to patients. He has all of the latest technology. I was in town for only a few days, but he made time to see me, and within a 2.5 hour visit I walked out with my crown made, cemented and fitted perfectly. He even provides his home number for emergencies. Dr. McKay is an experienced, talented, ethical, knowledgeable, friendly and communicative dentist, whom I can enthusiastically recommend without hesitation. The office staff are very accommodating when booking appointments, and effectively manage to limit the waiting time. I first visited Dr. McKay based on the glowing endorsement of a highly respected oral surgeon, who has been Dr. McKay’s patient for many years. I wanted to see a trustworthy and skilled dentist who could provide a second opinion on my (now previous) dentist's advice to get crowns on my upper teeth to repair the damage done through excessive wear and fix a faulty bite. This is a prohibitively expensive and aggressive procedure, which involves the filing, reduction and reshaping of existing teeth in order to make room for the porcelain caps. Thank goodness I received a second opinion! Not only did Dr. McKay clearly explain why I didn’t need crowns, but he recommended a far cheaper and more conservative treatment—bonding—which would repair, strengthen, protect and improve the appearance of my teeth without reducing their size or integrity. Last week, Dr. McKay, with the help of his excellent assistant, spent over two hours painstakingly performing the bonding procedure on my upper and lower teeth. Before starting, he clearly summarized what was going to happen, and then just before each step in the process, either he or his assistant would explain precisely what would happen next. I appreciated the high level of communication throughout the procedure, which Dr. McKay performed to perfection. Not only did Dr. McKay do a superb job with my teeth, but he saved me well over $10,000! It takes me 60-90 minutes to drive to his office in North Vancouver, but I would never consider going anywhere else for my dental work.

All my work has been well done and the service I have received has been wonderful. He is very good at making sure you do not have pain and explaining the procedure he will be using. My husband has also been very pleased with the work Terry has done for him. His staff has been very good at making sure we get our annual checks and making our appointments. We would and have recommended Terry as their dentist to people we know and those who ask us about a dentist.
