Professional and very accommodating staff. Highly recommended for patients seeking modern dental treatment. This is my second review after I had my hygiene appointment , root canal, and crown. My review is based on my personal experience even without the Starbucks gift card that they give. The hygienist did a great job of cleaning my teeth in an hour. The dentist and the CDA were very professional when they performed a root canal procedure. The crown was a perfect fit. Now, I can confidently smile. Front desk staff and office manager were courteous and have good customer service. They always book me for my next appointment according to my schedule. I refer my friends and relatives to this dental office because of their good location, professional dentists and hygienist, and front staff. I would just like to comment on those bashers. I'm wondering if you are real patients of this office. Your reviews are unbelievable (all lies) and are only meant to discredit them. I have been their patient for years and I have never encountered a problem with anyone of them.

I am terrified of the drill and its sound, so I decided to go with Dr. Milani when he offered a sedation option (that unfortunately wasn’t covered by my insurance). Although the sedation worked, I felt much more comfortable with Dr Milani’s professionalism and the way he handled everything. I had 4 cavities and they were all removed quickly and painless.

I went into get my scheduled cleaning, I hate going to the dentist, I avoid it at all costs, I'll postpone and reschedule as much as I can. Not anymore, a hygienist named Leo has completely changed my feelings towards the entire dental industry. Usually the flossing and ultrasonic tool they use makes my mouth bleed, alot, I'd become accustomed to leaving that place with throbbing gums, a huge gouge outta my wallet and feeling ashamed and discouraged due to being a smoker and usually having a couple cavitys. When I was finished my cleaning today I was smiling ear to ear, I was almost in tears. A feeling of relief washed over me as he educated me on some simple brushing techniques I had been doing wrong and with his words of encouragement as I battle my smoking addiction. Not only was I eager to book my next cleaning appointment, if I know that he's the one I'll be seeing in 4months then that's all the motivation I need to kick this habit once and for all and get my smile back on track.

I HATED my old dentist, like really hated him. Then I came to Columbia Square and loved it. The Hygienists are awesome, friendly, and accommodating. I also had my tooth extracted from one of the dentist, though long due to the difficulty and position of my tooth, it wasn't as bad as I expected. The dentist was very reassuring and even told me what stage she was at and why the process was taking so long. I had no puss or dry pocket and healed within three weeks as the Dentist had predicted. Overall my experience at Columbia Square Dental have always been pleasant. I have been going to this clinic for one year. I would recommend it to my family and friends.

All I can say is this place is awesome! For someone that has never been a big fan of the dentist, this place makes you feel comfortable. The environment in this place was a huge win, very clean, modern and comfortable. I have been seeing Dr. Randhawa since 2013 and I won't be looking for another dentist. I was never afraid of the dentist before, never felt any pain, nothing. But ever since coming here, I've developed a serious phobia of dentists. I've been here three times, have seen three different dentists, and each one caused me tremendous pain. I've never experienced pain from a simple cavity filling before, but all (5) were painful. The needle is not inserted correctly at all, both the insertion itself and the following five days hurt so much I could barely talk. A year later, there are still many foods I cannot eat at all because of the pain, and I floss daily and brush/mouthwash twice a day. They also repaired my front teeth, but they aren't smooth, they're jagged and bumpy and there's a tiny hole in the back of one of them. They weren't even kind or patient with me. I guess the fact that their schedule was so open (I wad always able to book an appointment for the following day) should have been a warning sign. Moral of the story, I am NEVER choosing a dentist because of the proximity to my house ever again. That's why I'm on here reading reviews. Trust me, it's better to spend hours traveling to a decent dentist than to pick one for convenience.

I was wary about bringing my daughter here but went because of a couple of positive reviews from parents. They did a wonderful job! That being said, I only gave 3 stars because I was pushed to join there as well. Also, they emailed me to remind my ex-husband that he was due for a cleaning! He has never been there. (They got his information from my daughters file). Then they ignored several requests from my new dentist to fax over my x-rays. I had to get xrays again. Not cool. (See my review of Life Dental!)

I've been going to Columbia Square Dental for a few years now, ever since I moved to New West in 2014. I always find the dentists and hygienists very personable and willing to answer my questions (I like to ask what is happening, what procedures are for, etc. while I'm getting work done). In my experience, it has been easy to change appointments, they are great at checking my coverage, and are not ever pushy with treatments or products, just informative. At the time when I started going here, they even offered free at-home whitening, which I've been using from time to time, and it was a nice perk (this may be gone now, however). All in all I am very satisfied with the level of care I receive here.

I went to Columbia Square Dental with an emergency procedure. I carried 80% coverage from my Dental Insurance. But even in an emergency when trying to arrange payment by one week the office manager cancelled my appointment and was verbally intolerant and had no problems belittling me in front of other clients. They were totally inflexible and I highly recommend you seek other care in the city of New Westminster. They had no problems in-taking me two days prior- charging my insurance for x-rays. On the day of the procedure were rude and horrible to deal with. In an emergency situation - even with great coverage go elsewhere for appropriate care.

I've been coming here for almost a year-- the staff is great! The receptionists are very friendly and accomodating, I like the text based appointment check ins. All the hygienists I've had have been awesome too! I recently had to have a filling, which of course isn't fun, but the doctor took her time and made sure I was doing well. I was a bit anxious but it was virtually painless-- except for the usual discomfort of having your jaw open for a long time :) The filling is great too-- no sensitivity or pain whatsoever after the fact. Both my husband and I go.

Everyone from the admin staff to the hygienist to the dentist were all so incredibly welcoming and friendly. Even though I'm afraid of the dentist, they put me at ease. Friendly and kind service. Hygienist's and Dentist's all seem very competent, I have no complaints about anything I have had done. Only issue is the constant re-booking requests and having to confirm too often, in my opinion. So confirmed via the web as requested in an email. Get about 3 phone calls, which I didn't answer, with one voice mail requesting to re-book to another time on same day if I could. I did not respond. Another voice mail asking that I confirm so I phone back and they want to reschedule different time same day. I leave it. Day of, another call. I agree to come in early, just worked out I could. I get there for my appointment and was delayed by half hour from re-booked appointment that same day. A tad annoying but I figure they have changed they way hygienists are scheduled or payed. Maybe a shortage of them or something so they are trying to be accommodating as possible. IN the end, the hygienist, and staff, were apologetic and she did a very thorough job.

Every single appointment I've had here has been pleasant, after years of receiving dental treatment from irritable and unpleasant dentists who cared not for my personal comfort, I am now perfectly comfortable with this office and its staff. They've saved so many of my teeth, and every time made sure I was comfortable before, during and after every appointment. I couldn't be any more satisfied with my treatment and the results than I am now. I would recommend this place to anyone, and honestly I've read some pretty awful reviews from this place that are rather old, and I wouldn't take any of those seriously. I've had nothing but good experiences here. Dr. Randhawa especially I would recommend, she is very pleasant and cares about the comfort of her patients.

I had the WORST experience here. I had my tooth extraction done and I was in so much pain after two days. My gums were puss and sore. I went back to the dentist, I had to wait an hour to see the dentist even though I made the appointment. The dentist came and only chatted with me 5 mins and she said that the pain will last for two to three weeks and I had to be patient. What really pissed me off is that they charged my insurance without my knowledge for this 5-mins no use conversation with the dentist. They charged my insurance $100 for the useless conversation I had with the dentist. They are very un-ethical and unprofessional how they did this. They should off at-least be honest with the patient. They confirmed thrice that this visit will be free of a charge but they went and charged my insurance. Its not the matter of money but the dishonesty made me angry and never ever want me to go back this Dental clinic. I recommended my family but will with draw all their appointments from here as well.

Very nice location, very nice people. It's May 25, a filling popped out last night, and the vast majority of dental clinics isnt opening until the first week of June. Heather was lovely to speak with and managed to me in for an appointment within 20 minutes of me calling (the next best I could hope from any other clinic was 4 days away). While this location was not able to resolve my issue in one appointment (mostly due to the particulars of my situation) they brought me in very quickly, smoothly, and professionally. The conduct of the staff and the appearance of the clinic leaves me to believe this is a location I can trust, and I look forward to having more appointments at Columbia Square.

I found this dental location through my post secondary institutions student union. Since they are part of the student network, students get an addition 20% coverage. I found out the hard way, I should have paid the extra and stuck with my family dentist. I went in for my routine check up and I was told that I had five cavities. The dentist couldn't attribute this to my oral care, since it is excellent, so she told me it was because I was a 'night grinder' and it was wearing down my enamel. I needed to have a special night guard fitted to my mouth to stop this problem. Or she suggested I could just get the invisaline braces (despite having had braces for 3 years), in which case I wouldn't need to get the mouth guard. I had my suspicions, so I went back to my family dentist for a second opinion. He told me I had ZERO areas of decay in my mouth and displayed ZERO evidence of night grinding. Long story short, don't let these people scam your insurance. I won't be back.

I went to this dentist office for the first time for a standard cleaning about 2 years ago. I was new to New West and was looking for a new dentist. Biggest mistake I ever made. Since that appointment I've been hounded and harassed by the crazy receptionist at least once per month to return. I told her to stop harassing me. To leave me alone. That I've found a long term dentist near my home. But still she calls my phone. Over and over, month after month. I would never return to this office due to her relentless harassment. What the hell is wrong with this lady!!! She needs a psychiatrist. How can you base a respectable business on hounding people and terrorizing their voice mails?

This was my first time going to a dentist or doing anything regarding my teeth. I immigrated from the US and was quite worried about what would take place as my hygiene was not the greatest due to health concerns. The front desk individual's during weekdays and weekends are so friendly, which always make me feel welcomed when coming in. The hygienist I got my first time coming in was super awesome and nothing but kind to me ... complimenting my teeth and my smile while also giving me tips of flossing and such. Then I had to have the cavities filled which was done in a short time and was practically painless. The next task for my teeth was the extractions of my wisdom teeth. My wisdom teeth for years have always went in and out which would leave me in so much pain, that being said it was now time for the battle of getting these bad boys out. Dr. Maryam Goodarzi was the General Dentist that took on this battle like a champ. Let me tell you these wisdom teeth just did not want to come out especially being so close to nerve. Despite this and what felt like Maryam and I had both got destroyed during this task we both left feeling accomplished. My incisions have been healing quite well and the pain was gone within a week or so besides some tenderness on my gums. I feel so happy and relieved to have the wisdom teeth out and hope to continue this journey for happy healthy teeth for my future. I absolutely love having Maryam as my dentist and appreciate her working with filling all my cavities and ridding me of pain.

I would like to recant my previous rating of 5 stars. At the time I did not understand the moral and ethical problems with my review. I was told that "if I gave a 5 star review, I would quialify for the special that this dentist offered." At the time I was being honest in that the work and promptness of their services was satisfactory; with the exception of some mis-communication for suggested work on my teeth, that according to a second opinion from my previous dentist was not required, the matter was settled and marked on the chart "to be watched and followed up on." The reason for changing my review has to do with the repetative phone calls to have us return and book an appointment which was borderline harassment. Repeating our request to be taken off the phone list was not easy, nor was it handled well. We were dealt with in a way that felt like there was money to be made and "the initial deal" was a draw in, to obligate us to pay and make up for a loss; in other words, more about profits rather than client care. Sorry but we will be taking our business elsewhere and will be more attentive to this type of busness scheme of drawing clients in with rewards for star ratings and reviews.

Dishonest, scammers, misleading, disorganized... you name it this dental office is it. I would not recommend this office to my worst enemy. They constantly are sending in pre-approvals to my insurance (without my consent) for cleanings, even right after I have just had one. They try to rebook my appointments at the last minute all the time. They schedule me for appointments I never made or even said I would make, then call to confirm less than 24 hrs prior saying this will result in $70.00 charge on my part if I don't come in. Excuse me? Lost a patient and I will tell others to stay clear as well. Bunch of scammers. *They give Starbucks gift cards for positive Google reviews - if you are wondering why they have so many.*

Normally I'm ok with the dentist, but after my experience here I'm now afraid to go back - and when I did, it WASN'T back to these guys. I had a checkup/cleaning and 2 fillings done. First off, they had to split my cleaning into 2 appointments, which was weird in itself. Then, when they did the fillings, it HURT LIKE HELL. I have a very high pain tolerance, so when I say it hurt, a normal person probably would have passed out. Even after trying to numb me twice, I could still feel it, and then the needle insertions from the freezing were sore for days. After the fillings, I couldn't floss those 2 areas because they were so sensitive. Something was not done right, I could tell. When I called they said that sensitivity was normal for up to 6 months... how does that seem normal? I'd had plenty of other fillings that didn't hurt for a bunch of time after. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion to find that they had left the roots open and unprotected. They re-did the fillings, properly, and with minimal pain with the freezing and drilling. Now I can floss like normal without crying every time I hit those 2 spots. As someone else mentioned, the receptionist keeps calling and sending reminders for my cleaning. And then recently, they sent me a bill for an additional $100, saying that my insurance had paid it to me and I owed it to them. It was a handwritten note on an invoice summary, with a threat that if not paid by X date, it will go to collections. This dental office is unprofessional, unorganized, and unskilled in dentistry.

This is a very dishonest dental office. I don't recommend going here. They will change your appointment last minute (resulting in costing you $$$) and really try gouge your insurance. I actually question now (after realizing how dishonest they are) if I needed the work they had recommended. I don't want the same to happen to others. They also give Starbucks gift cards for giving them Google reviews. They don't ask for a 5 star review, but they do ask to see the review after. Typically, most people aren't going to show a negative review in-person to avoid confrontation. They realize this - so, replying to negative reviews with 'we never ask for 5 star reviews' is a lie.

Worst experience ever!!! Two minor filings and they ended up being so poorly done that I had to go back in due to the pain they were causing me, the dentist coughed it up to tooth sensitivity and referred me out to a specialist. This specialist looked at her filings and noted that the filings had overhangs (something the dentist should have easily caught). A week later I had to go back to the Columbia Square Dental to get my filings redone due to the constant pain – I had another dentist in the office preform this. At the end of this ordeal: I was charged 3 emergency visits from this dentist for pain they caused me! When I did research into my insurance and found this out, I insisted they refund the exams back to my insurance (which they did). I was charged for the filings to be done initially (which was fine) and then when they had to redo their work they charged my insurance again! They said because another dentist had to redo the filing she needed to be paid as well. In my mind they should have taken the money they charged me for the initial filings and given those funds to the dentist who had to redo them – they did give me a $10 starbucks gift card for all my ordeals though…thanks. I am a former dental assistant and have worked in this industry for 5years and I have never witnessed such a poor quality dentist. They were very nice there though, but in my opinion I would rather a skilled dentist. Do your research before you choose your dental office.

DO NOT TRUST THIS DENTAL OFFICE! The front desk staff will schedule you in for an appt (that you never gave the go ahead to do) only to charge you $75+ when you fail to confirm. Why would I confirm an appt I never made, yet alone be required to pay for it? They did this to me even right after I had just been there for a cleaning. If you call to ask for an explanation they will pretend like its no big deal or they don't know what you are talking about. Either they are dense in the head or very dishonest. I am going to go with dishonest. I am beyond disgusted with how they treat their patients. They are so incompetent they can't even understand what either I'm available Mondays or Tuesdays means when you try to book an appointment ("How about Thursday?") So, maybe they are dense too. DO NOT GO HERE! THEY ARE THIEVES!

Well where to begin... I originally made an appointment before covid to take care of a few bad teeth. Got one, and then covid shut everything down. I was hoping to get a plan together about what we would be doing beyond the removal of painful problem teeth, and we never got to discuss any of it. We had another date planned, and I assumed I would get my chance then. Time passed and no dentist as covid scared me. It eventually got to a point I was in pain and despite my fear of covid, I reached out and tried to alleviate some pain. I sent an e-mail and the response I got about my covid concerns were all sorts of "sign here's" protecting them from lawsuits should I contract covid from them. Not very reassuring at all. However I am in pain, so I go in. See some new dentist? No introduction, no explanation, but she gives me a prescription to bring down swelling so they can pull a broken tooth caused by the aggressive last removal. Not blaming for that, just happened. However this new dentist didn't seem to know anything about me, or if it even mattered. She told me of the next appointment was to remove this broken tooth after the antibiotics and had many (signed) confirmation emails that highlighted my paying for missed appointments. I showed up early and they brought me in early. This is where it goes sideways Now there is a new guy? No introduction, and no explanation. The assistant had shown me a bill for the work we were about to do, and wanted to know i was going to pay it today. It was what we had made this appointment for, and it hurt still, so I was here for that to get done. Now the 3rd dentist here, and he wants a new x-ray and is questioning who decided on the work we were about to do?? I told him it was discussed in this very office under 2 weeks ago. He then sent me (and charged me) for another x-ray, then sat me down and decided to take half of the broken tooth after rushing to get a freeze on me. Painful the whole way, and extreme pain when he pulled (half) of the tooth out. Put a temporary filling in and was painful the whole way even though my freezing was making my lips numb. During the work he is hurting me and ignoring my telling him it hurts. So I bear down and just got through it. In pain the whole way. This new guy is telling his assistant that the base will hold on the temp, but the top part won't??!! I am now NEVER going back to this place for ANY reason whatsoever!!! These people are the least professional i have ever seen and they didn't even do the job. After he got out of my mouth, half of the broken tooth is still in my face, even though I had booked this appointment to remove it and took meds for almost 2 weeks to get this done, and now he has some idea that he will have me back and knock me out and take not just the one tooth, but has eyes on 3, 4 or 5 extractions. No plan, but we will get a plan before he knocks me out? Or something? What the hell?? Do not ever go here unless you want to be used for your dental plan money as well as out of pocket money. I spent over 100 today and never got the work done. Now this new guy wants to do all sorts of stuff on me and I never even met the man before today, not to mention I never got a say in this. Also we HAD a plan THROUGH THIS OFFICE and never followed through!! I am now shopping for some other dentist to fix what he has done and it has already separated from my broken tooth as of this writing less than a week away from when it happened.

I had a large silver filling fall out, and couldn't get into to see my dentist until after the long weekend. I opted getting it checked out here and was told I needed a root canal. I had an xray done and wasn't shown it either which was odd, and felt as if something was off. I decided to wait until my dentist could fit me in and my dentist said I only needed a filling! The old silver filling stained my tooth (which apparently happens) and my dentist said there was only a little bit of decay underneath (likely was cracked and was old) and a good thing it fell out as they could fix it. Do NOT go here! I would have had a completely unnecessary, expensive procedure (root canal) for no reason. Rather unscrupulous, and unethical of them to do this, and I wonder how many others that they've done this too.

The latest change of staff are not knowledgeable about anything as if they are teenage McDonald's employees. They are completely clueless on explaining my treatment plan. How can I put this, I hate going to dentists. They scare me. Dental clinics generally scare me. I've finally found the exception. Squeezing me in on a already fully booked Saturday afternoon. The 5 star ratings are experienced the second you walk into the clinic with the ever so polite and friendly desk staff. Upon seeing the dentist, he came in and was very warm and cheerful. Although the result wasn't as I would hoped, he was able to good laughter whilst giving good reassurance. Payment options where offered to me, and this was my first time being here. Overall a nice clinic, good staff and good staff. Ive even organised to arrange a future booking, something I've never done with a dentist.

Updated March 30 2021 Practice safety Covid protocols here. Went for my quarterly cleaning. Great customer service. Leo is fantastic at what he does. He listens to your concerns. He has funny stories and remembers things you told him too. Will not go to another hygienist. Previous review: Excellent customer service at reception desk from Cory. Leo is one of the best dental hygienist I have very sensitive gums and teeth and would rather have a root canal than teeth scaled/cleaned. Leo listened to my concerns and he talked me though and adjusted the cleaning procedure so that I was comfortable and not going to jump out of the chair. I hope he will always enjoy his profession and be patient with his clients. Great team here!!

I got a root canal done here and experienced amazing service. The male dentist did an incredible job. I had some of the worst pain I've ever had in my mouth, and once the dentist was done I have had no pain and no sensitivity. The receptionists make you feel like you're not just another name, but a person and are always extremely friendly. I will definitely be returning in the future. I love the atmosphere and the staff are great.

I am not a fan of going to the Dentist mainly because I have had bad experiences in the past and I am deathly afraid of needles (doesn't help the situation) Everyone here is extremely friendly and they were aware of how I was feeling going into it. My dentist who was Dr.Majlessi was awesome!! Gave me extra numbing gel for the needle which I appreciated immensely and she kept asking if I was okay. She is an amazing Dentist and gives her honest opinion of what she feels is best for you. The ladies at the front are super friendly and easy to talk to! I would highly recommend going here if you are looking for a Dentist! 5 Stars for sure!! :)

Went here last year for a crown (as my dentist I’ve used for decades is in the valley) and the professionalism, staff, and quality of work is second to none. I visited Columbia Square Dental for the first time today. Making my appointment was super, Taylor was helpful to check my benefit and accommodate me for an evening appointment. Lily was excellent with my hygiene appointment, very thorough with an appreciated gentle touch. Dr.Milani was friendly and knowledgeable and did not suggest anything that was not necessary. It was a clean and professional environment. I highly recommend this clinic.

Stuff is very friendly and helpful. I always have very good experience in this place. I don't feel that anybody trying to overcharge me. Installation of my implant with doctor Milani, that happened 3 years ago, was absolutely painless and done highly professional. Still working. I definitely recommend this place. There is parking outside and it's very close to skytrain, 5 min walk.

I've had the pleasure of dealing with Dr Majlessi and Dr Randhawa but my dentist is Dr. Majlessi. I found her to be a consummate professional, intensely focused on her tasks, very skilled while maintaining a level of concern and compassion that feels and is genuine. The practice in general is peaceful and comforting and modern. The staff have none of that smarmy and condescending attitude I have encountered elsewhere. My only regret is I haven't encountered Dr. Majlessi years ago. If you dislike dentistry, have a general fear of these people or have no opinion this is the practice I recommend. I find them genuine and caring and you will seek out their services again and again.

3 yrs ago my family and I moved to New Westminster and not long after I ran into a friend while shopping at Columbia Square. I asked her if she could recommend a dentist in the area as I had been looking for one closer to home. She recommended Columbia Square Dental and I was happy to find they were a all female practice as my daughter's have had bad experience's with male dentists in the past. 3 yrs later and we are still here and more then happy with the care we receive. I would definitely recommend Columbia Square Dental to anyone who is looking for a dentist(s) and staff who are compassionate and caring.

I've seen Dr. Majlessi a number of times and its always a great experience; as far as dental visits go :) Dr. Majlessi and her assist are both caring and compassionate people that really do care about their patients, even those patients that are fidgety people, like myself. I've had numerous dental issues and even though they have been brought on by myself, they never make you feel bad about it. Seeing a previously bad tooth shining white is well worth the cost :) Thanks for everything!
