Just had extractions and immediate denture done while under IV sedation and 48 hrs later very little pain or swelling. Dr Wolanski and all staff at Lakeside were very professional and friendly, made this an easier procedure than I thought it would be. (Between my dental anxiety and Fibromyalgia I wasn't too sure what to expect.) I will definitely be recommending Lakeside to all who need dental work done. I wanted to thank the staff and Dr Wolanski for the care they took doing my dental work yesterday. I opted for sedation dental as I have a jaw that doesn't open from a car accident and can't get it fixed until I do the dental work first. They were patient and took such great care, and this is the best my jaw has felt coming out of a dentist office. Usually I am on soft food for 4 or 5 days. Today I ate half a bagel, ha they next day yipee.

Dr. Wolanski is like Michaelangelo. I haven't smiled in five years, and in one appointment he made all my front teeth look pretty again. We came up with a plan of what I wanted and what I needed, and like an artist he knew exactly what he needed to do to achieve my smile goals. I needed to have 6 Molars removed (4 wisdom) due to years of neglect after putting off my visit to the dentist. I was VERY apprehensive and frankly scared. I arrived at 10 am and was back in my bed by 11am content and comfy. The swift, compassionate care I received was incredible. My team demonstrated the highest level of integrity and experience which was efficacious in a swift and event-free recovery. Now 2 weeks later I am able to eat normally. I would recommend Lakeside and Dr. Wolanski to anyone, fear not, you are in good hands!!!! T.G.

My entire family is in good hands at Lakeside Dental Clinic. Our son had his wisdom teeth removed under IV sedation, and a complicated procedure before starting orthodontic treatment. Everything couldn’t have gone better! Dr.Wolanski gives the best needle I have ever had. I don’t like to deal with insurance so I am happy to have receptionists who are willing to take care of that for me. I highly recommend this office. They do dental right!!

I had extreme pain in my mouth for days to the point where I looked for a place that does emergency dental work. The first place I called was booked up and the dentists weren't coming back for a while due to their vacations. I tried lakeside clinic, and they got me in to see what's wrong just an hour or so after I phoned. Very helpful and accommodating and figured out the problem within minutes. They tried their best to keep me comfortable and pain free, and it was no problem for them to change my necessary surgery to a less expensive option when I asked for it. I'm so thankful and glad I found them when I did. Thank you.

Very friendly staff who are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you leave happy and excited to smile. I've suffered from a discoloured front tooth since I was a child an was able to get a crown. The crown is a perfect colour match and fit. For the first time in 20 years, I'm not embarrassed to smile. I had a botched dental implant procedure in Mexico. My implant were not correctly placed and I ended up with a bad infection in my jaw. Dr. Wolanski and his team did a great job correcting the shoddy work done in Mexico. They cleared up the infection and made me a great set of new teeth. Highly reccomend Lakeside Dental Clinic.

A dentist here (Dr. Cara) completely destroyed my mouth. I went in for one simple filling, and he ended up causing me to have a root canal, need a crown, and he messed up my other crown with the careless use of the hardware for a dental dam, dislodging it and causing my gums to become infected. I now have to get the endodontist to remove the crown and also I have to now have an implant installed. This dentist cost me thousands of dollars.

I needed a tooth pulled, unfortunately, I had to wait for the COVID19 restrictions to ease until I could see Dr. Wolanski. They got me in as soon as they could. June 9th. All the expected safety precautions were in place. Lots of hand sanitizer, temperature taking tools. All the staff were in FULL PPE, and a few that weren't expected, like special HEPA filters installed in the HVAC system and mouth sanitizer. I was in and out in 40 minutes! Pain gone! Thank you ladies and DR. W, great job all around!

This clinic is by far the best I've ever been to, and I can't imagine who wouldnt feel taken care of here. Everyone made every effort to accomodate me, and they were so patient with someone like me who has a "tricky" time freezing for dental work... I really appreciate the extra time and care they took to make sure I was as frozen as possible before continuing at all. The dentist never sacrificed the quality of his work because I was being difficult, which I am used to with past dentists. Thank you so much to your team for making my experience such a pleasant one, and I absolutely recommend this place to everyone (even vancouverites...)

I really hate to leave negative comments, however I do not want anyone else to endure this place. I have a heart condition and the doctors and staff here where uneducated in the proper treatment towards clients with medical conditions. If you have any medical issues I would recommend you seek your dental work elsewhere.

When I moved to Nanaimo BC four years ago I was in search of a dentist. Not just a dentist but a great dentist and I found one. Robert Wolanski was recommended by a friend and was I ever impressed! A lot of thought had gone into making me feel welcome the moment I entered Lakeside Dental Clinic. People were happy to see me and Dr. Wolanski and the dental assisting staff made me feel comfortable and at ease. Recently, I had to have a molar extracted. I didn't feel the freezing go into my gums and I waited for the pain I would feel when the molar was extracted. When I opened my eyes the dental assistant was there and I asked when the tooth would be removed. "It's done!", she told me. I had felt nothing. Any dentist who causes no pain is tops in my book. The other thing I like about Lakeside Dental Clinic is the fact that I'm advised two weeks in advance of an upcoming booked appointment. Then I'm advised closer to the appointment with an opportunity to confirm. After the appointment another missive is sent asking if there would be anything that could be improved and if I am satisfied. Of course I am. This is the best dental clinic in Nanaimo and I'm delighted I've had the opportunity to receive care from Robert Wolanski!

Friendly, accommodating staff made me feel very welcome. The office is lovely, I caught a little nap (I am pregnant) on one of the couches while waiting for my partner to finish his appointment. It's that comfortable in there! Everyone I came across was just absolutely lovely, from the receptionist to the hygienist, and of course Dr. Wolanski. He has an amazing vibe. He didn't have a pretentious dentist attitude at all, like I've dealt with in the past. He is very personable, and took the time to explain things to me that I've never heard before from my previous dentist. The receptionist also took me into their office, and explained in detail my dental plan over he course of which next year, and what our insurance would cover. I've never received that kind of attention/information before. Just fabulous! After my appointment was finished, as Dr. Wolanksi was grabbing some coffee (from their COMPLIMENTARY COFFEE/TEA station!) we struck up a very deep conversation on mental health and addiction. After a tear from his eye was shed, and from the sheer emotion coming from the wise things he was saying, I knew then what a humongous heart this man has. I am very excited for this dental clinic to be the place where I bring my future son to. I know he will love Dr. Wolanski and his staff just as much as me and my partner did. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My husband Ron has been suffering from an abscessed tooth. After starting antibiotics he was still enduring excruciating pain. When he finally couldn't bear the agony any longer we called Dr. Wolanski at home. Even though it was two nights before Christmas, Dr. Wolanski very kindly offered to meet that evening at his office to get a prescription for pain medication. My husband doesn't give praise easily, but we were impressed and appreciative that Dr. Wolanski went out of his way to help. Within a few hours the pain began to lessen. I do not like going to the dentist. This is a fact. So when my wisdom teeth started hurting a few weeks before my 2 month trip to Thailand I was very scared. I am new to Nanaimo and was so happy to find Lakeside Dental. I went into the office very nervous and even cried during my check up. Dr. Wolanski and all the staff were so amazing that I got through it! They were very gentle, supportive, and made me feel as relaxed as possible. I now have no wisdom teeth left in my mouth to bother me and I went to Bangkok pain free. I would definitely recommend Lakeside Dental to anyone needing a dentist. I got all my wisdom teeth out here yesterday and if I had to do it again tomorrow I'd be okay with that! I was super anxious the night before, but once I took the pre-op meds the next day I was rolling into the office like Will Smith rolling into Bel-Air ???? I remember getting the IV in and then I don't remember anything at all about the procedure. Next thing I knew I was being rolled out to my dad in a wheelchair and going home. Easy! I would recommend this place to everyone!

It's hard to say anything postive about Lakeside Dental Clinic when you receive bad service the moment you arrive by the women on the frontdesk. Due to unexpected circumstances I had a toddler (almost three) with me for my appointment. I didn't want to cause a problem so I offered to change my appointment if they wanted. The dark-haired receptionist told me "NO" and said I could leave the child, unattended, in the far-off children's corner (which is out of sight from the receptionist). A third person, my relative and not a dental clinic employee, had to miss work to take care of the child. Needless to say, I was furious when, not five minutes later, a patient came in with his three year old. They were treated much better and with more respect. That three year old, her first visit ever, was allowed to stay with her dad throughout his dental appointment. I wasn't allowed to change my appoinment without a fee. Why couldn't I take my toddler in with me to my appointment? The kids were about the same age. There are different rules for different people at Lakeside Dental Clinic. With lots of other clinics around. My family and I will find a new dentist. One where customer service is important and valued.

I was a serious dentaphobe and because of the care and compassion of the staff, I was able to get through a lot of treatment with no pain, judgement, or anxiety, without sedation! I’ve been going to Lakeside Dental since Nov 2016 and I’ve always had great appointments there! The staff are so friendly and helpful, very quick to accomodate. It’s a beautiful office and cozy waiting area but I’ve never had to wait very long because they are always punctual. My dental cleanings have always been excellent - the dental hygienists and dental assistants are wonderful and knowledgeable, they really make the experience such a breeze! Dr. Wolanski definitely makes the experience so positive as well. He is very personable and easy to talk to and I really appreciate how he explains everything that he’s doing and why he’s doing it, so you’re not left in the dark. Plus he gives a great needle, I barely feel a thing! I just had a crown put in by Dr. Wolanski and Heather and everything went very smoothly and efficiently, no complaints from me. I highly recommend Lakeside Dental!

I hadnt been to a dentist in a few years. I made an appt with them and they did a full new patient exam. I learned that I should have my wisdom teeth removed - not the 1st time I had heard this. My top wisdom teeth were already through and causing zero issues so I asked if it would be medically okay to keep them - they did an exam and said yes. We set up an appt for the surgery. I was quite nervous / anxious and everyone helped me get through that by being positive and reassuring and friendly. The appt took about an hour and I was home healing up right away. I would recommened Lakeside Dental to anyone! Tbey are an innovative, friendly, confident and knowledgable group.

It is easy to say wonderful things about Dr Wolanski and his staff. They are all so kind. The most heart warming thing is the way they treat my wife with Alzheimer's. They are so gentle with her and we never feel rushed here. The staff takes her arm and helps her around the office to make sure she is safe. They help do up her jacket when it is time to leave and they even helped us to the car! The care they give her is reflected in her smile. I am also thankful that they were able to fix my front tooth in time for my daughters wedding so I could smile in all the photos. Thank you for caring about people. Rare to find businesses that do these days.

Dr. Wolanski tried to overcharge our family I am so glad I phoned around to get a second opinion. One procedure for my child wasn’t even necessary! Now I know why our insurance company refused to cover it. I am even thinking of reporting his unethical practices to protect other people. Beware

I broke my tooth the night before I was flying to las vegas . The timing could not have been more perfect……….NOT! I broke the tooth on a Sunday when absolutely no dentists are open. I wasn’t in any pain (thank goodness) and called the office first thing the next morning. Lakeside Dental got me on the schedule with time to spare for my flight. They were amazing. I am not a nervous patient, never have been when it comes to dentistry. Having said that, however, I was nervous about this particular procedure. It was going to be my first crown. I walked in and everyone at the front desk was all smiles and they were expecting me. I was seated in an operatory in under a minute. I met Heather, Dr Wolanski’s fabulous assistant first. She asked me some questions about the tooth I broke and took an xray of the area. I had apparently broken it almost in half, right through the middle. I am very grateful that they were still able to save enough of the tooth to crown it. While talking to Heather about my options she noticed that I was also in need of a crown on the tooth right beside the one I just broke. (treatment that I knew about and had been putting off. It was headed in the same direction as the broken one. ) Heather educated me as to how it would be best to get a crown done on the other tooth at the same time. It was done in the same amount of time already reserved for me! Once Dr Wolanski came into the operatory it was crazy how fast the whole thing went. I was concerned that I hadn’t been frozen as I didn’t feel anything but some pressure (I close my eyes for all dental work). Nope, Dr Wolanski is just that good, I was completely frozen and hadn’t felt a thing. I was super impressed. No pain, no problems. Everything was done super fast and I was out of there and unfrozen within half an hour of leaving. I am notoriously sensitive to freezing and generally stay frozen for hours after the procedure is done. (something I have always hated) Hard to eat when your mouth is frozen. I was able to head to Las Vegas with my temporary crowns in place and no one could tell the difference. I was given the office email to contact should I have any issues. I was beyond impressed with all of my treatment at this office. The entire staff was super nice and incredibly professional. I would highly recommend this office for anyone looking for a great dentist with a wonderful team backing him up.

I know every time I go to Lakeside Dental I will be comfortable and have a pain free experience. One of the biggest reasons I avoided the dentist most of my life was due to a poor experience when I was younger and pain was involved. I was in a lot of pain, even after taking antibiotics. I needed a filling and a molar extracted and thought the numbing wouldn't work because the meds hadn't seemed to clear the infection. However, Dr. Wolanski and his staff were amazing! Dr. Wolanski gave me extra freezing to ensure I wouldn't feel a thing. Guess what? I DIDN'T feel a thing! Aside from that, all of the staff at the clinic are awesome and let you know what's going on every step of the way.

Being out of the country & having NOT gone to a dentist in almost 3 years, I was very nervous going to see Dr. Kara, but he & his team of professionals made me feel so relaxed. They explained everything in detail as they were performing each dental procedure on me. I would best describe DR. KARA as excelsior, I highly recommend all & any dental procedures performed by him & found him to be the BEST DENTIST EVER, that I have gone to in my entire life. I had over $4,000.00 worth of dental work done at Lakeside Dental so far & have never been happier & I'm considering getting a few implants in the very near future.
