After 30+ years with the family Dentist in Vancouver, even after moving to the Island and going back to him just for our appointments, we finally visited a new Dental office and couldn't be happier. Avonlea staff did really well with the suspicious 6 year old, getting in a full cleaning and xrays with no trouble and lots of patience, and they were thorough with hubby who has a fair bit of work to do in there (ex-hockey player!), and they didn't try and tell me there was anything to do with my own oral health. I have never had a cavity in my life, and had tried a dentist a few years back who tried to tell me that I needed multiple fillings! Avonlea Dental staff seem to be caring, honest and thorough. Not to mention a modern facility that has been well adapted for Covid. What more could you ask for?

Dr Jackson is great and comes prepared not only with his knowledge but also with his day to day stories you’ll hear everytime - I’ve never left this place without having a good laugh from him and the rest of the wonderful staff. Very very dissapointed with the care at Avonlea dental. Dentist wants you to pay money to go over your "dental plan" instead of getting to work and actually fixing your teeth. When it came time to do the work they actually failed to complete the procedure and had to send me home with nothing fixed, a bloody gaping hole and an appointment at another dentist to finish

Dr. Jackson and Kerrie the hygienist were both amazing. I usually fly to Toronto to get my dental cleanings at Sunnybrooke Hospital. This time I used nitrous oxide and found that I was effectively relaxed and didn’t get a fast heart rate or high blood pressure like usual.

We registered with Avonlea Dental office five years ago when we moved to Nanaimo from Calgary. From our first appointment, we found Dr. Quinn to be an extremely gentle and caring Dentist, who gives time and attention to each of his patients, and doesn’t rush off to the next cubicle to see yet another one. The entire office team is professional and efficient in a friendly manner, and have always quickly resolved any issues that may have arisen with dental insurance companies! We consider ourselves very fortunate to be patients of Dr Quinn, knowing that whatever the dental issue might be, he’ll resolve it in the most beneficial, and pain-free manner he can find. I’d recommend this Dental office to anyone looking for exceptional dental care.

You will never regret coming here. Dr.Quinn is absolutely phenomenal, patient and just the sweetest human. The rest of the staff is nothing less than amazing as well!! I'm very scared of needles and have bad anxiety around them, and these guys are extremely understanding, and accommodating and make it super easy. I've been seeing them for 7 years, and won't ever go anywhere else. Theyre flexible and all around amazing. My son just went for his first dentist checkup and they were very patient...even through the tears. Thanks guys <3

Excellent Clinic. Dr. Quinn is amazing, explains in a clear, concise and understandable manner the procedure and what is involved. The staff are also very warm and friendly.....you can hear the smile in their voice even though they are masked. COVID protection procedures are excellent Would highly recommend this dental clinic for anyone looking for a new dentist in Nanaimo. Only concern is that wait times are long....but well worth it.
