I love him. The best dentist I have ever had. He is so good. He once performed gum surgery on me that involved a lot of drilling and filing down of bone material, about a 3 hours procedure, and I fell asleep while this was going on. I had beyond the worst dental experience of my life here, I’m literally still in shock over this horrible experience. I spent just under $3000 and walked away with absolutely nothing that I came there for. Do yourself a favour and don’t ignore the 1 star reviews here, on ratemds or yellowpages like I did, they more accurately describe the client’s experience and there’s a consistent pattern amongst them. The staff is really nice, but in my opinion Dr Youssef was very rude to me, a bad listener and had poor bedside manner.

Dr Youssef is an excellent and talented dentist. I’ve been going to him for about thirty years now. My cousin, a dentist who practises in Ottawa, once told me that being a perfectionist is one of the most important qualities in a dentist – and Dr Youssef is a perfectionist. He has performed a wide variety of procedures on me over the years – root canals, gum grafts, bridges, crowns, TMD (temporomandibular disorder – I had to look that up), tooth veneers, abscesses – just to name a few. Dr Youssef is a dental artist and takes great pride in his work. He keeps up with advances in new technology and incorporates them into his practise when he thinks it will allow him to provide better service to his patients. He takes the time to explain things so that a layperson can understand what he is doing and what the options are. Dr Youssef is also very conscientious about following up after major procedures. He will give patients his home phone number to call if they have problems during recovery and he will actually call a patient to make sure they are doing OK after major surgery. Dr Youssef also has a great team behind him. Judith is his long time receptionist/office manager and she keeps the office running smoothly. She’s the one that phones to remind us about our appointments and her humourous, relaxed demeanor makes all of Dr Youssef’s patients feel comfortable when they visit. As a former dental assistant, she is very knowledgeable about all of the procedures that Dr Youssef performs and that makes it easier for his patients because she can empathize with them and provide additional information on post-op care. Dental assistant Olivia does a great job of calmly keeping up with Dr Youssef’s meticulousness and dental hygienist, Nadia, in addition to cleaning patients’ teeth three to four times a year, also provides a lot of advice on dental home care including correct flossing technique and recommendations on the best electric toothbrush to purchase. In summary you can’t go wrong by getting your teeth looked after by Dr Youssef and his excellent team!

Worst dentist I've ever met in my life. Rude, unprofessional, racist & bad listener ! Went to Dr. Youssef's clinic for a consultation on how to treat my mom's teeth condition (for a second opinion). At the beginning, he already gave us a bad impression by not finding the X-rays scans that my mom sent him. So disorganized ! We waited at least 10 min for that. Then he took a look at my mom's teeth and then ONLY told us that her teeth are in a very bad shape (He didn't explain how he is going to treat or what will be an estimate of the cost, which is cheating because we are there for consultation). Also he said he needs to retake X-rays AGAIN (my mom took her X-rays just 3 months ago so it's very recent). Then my mom asked him a few questions, then Dr Youssef cut her off EVERY TIME and DEMANDED her to speak to me in Chinese and then asked me to translate to English for him. How RUDE!! Then he started talking to me and then said: Translate to your mother. This is SO disrespectful. My mom can express herself clearly and understands English (she just has a bit of an accent). He's doing this just because it saves him time. So basically, we were there for a consultation ($60 and he saw us for 20min-- waste of money) and he didn't propose any plans and didn't give an estimate of the costs. He only said come back for a second consultation where he said he will take more time to look at her condition. Ugh. Never again!!

From my experiences, the staff are always friendly and make me feel comfortable when I am at my appointments. Judith is always welcoming as a first contact to the office which is very important to me. Don't have to worry about delays, appointments are always on time and you're not kept waiting which makes time management easy. The Hygienists and Dr. Youssef are always concerned about my well being and comfort. The location is conveniently located downtown near to my residence and the offices are open and clean. It's the kind of office you want to send a card to during the holidays because everyone is so great. I saw Dr Youssef for an emergency - my tooth cracked in half from a cavity that was missed from a previous Dentist. Dr Youssef was so nice, and fit me into his busy schedule that same day to do a temp quick fix/apply some painkiller cement and had me come back 2 days later to do my crown. The thing that I appreciated the most was that he was patient and made sure that I was VERY COMFORTABLE, I think he asked me 10 times if I was comfortable or feeling any pain. I thought that the procedure would be painful, but I didn't even notice that I was having an invasive procedure done in my mouth. I would say with 100% confidence that of any doctor/dentist I have never seen anyone more concerned with the comfort of his patients, and this is coming from someone who is usually very sensitive to pain... once I had a dentist who didn't believe that I wasn't numb yet because he apparently gave me too much anesthesia already...and it didn't end well for him when he started drilling lol... But Dr Youssef took my comments seriously, and he made sure that I didn't feel any pain at all. I also think he is a very kind man. Last thinggg.. because this is long already, but I do feel like he was very much a perfectionist in the way he works.. he was adjusting my bite in such a way that even I didn't realize would make my bite feel more natural.. the only negative thing I have to say is that he used a metal-porcelain fused crown, I think he probably used this because it is more durable than pure porcelain (and because the broken tooth was near the back of my mouth, there was no way to se the metal underneath the porcelain), but I would've liked to have the choice and be told that there are multiple options for crowns.. I probably would've chosen the metal-porcelain that he put, but I would've like to just know beforehand. Other than this, I really liked the entire experience and I will definitely go back to him!

Had to go in for a replacement crown that was worn out and cracked. The procedure of removing the old crown and fitting of a temporary crown went very well. The second procedure which is a few weeks later was even easier and took under 30 minutes along with a perfect fit. I have been through this many times and it is nice to have a dentist who accurate with his time estimates along with great dental skills and a professional staff.

Like several others who have posted here, it really feels like they are trying to get your money. They insisted I do a consult ahead of a cleaning and whitening, which seemed silly, for 75$, and then wanted to do another follow up post the whitening. I imagine they wanted to charge me another 75$ for no good reason again. During the cleaning/whitening, they stuck an additional $150 charge on the bill, and never said anything about it. Spoke to them two days later, and they said it was for material related to the whitening, but it was never discussed. I asked for the price in advance, and then they add an additional $150. They said it was for taxes, but it wasn't and it was for twice as much as the taxes would have been too. They probably do an ok job in terms of the services, but I don't trust these people whatsoever. Shame on them, honestly. It seems like most of the people who left positive reviews on have 1 review they've ever done, so it's seems little dubious too. Find a dental practice that you can trust, don't go here.

A rare gentle dentist willing to go the extra mile and think outside the box. Dr. Youssef has been my dentist for almost 20 years. My mother introduced me to him and I have never considered another dentist since. When I walk in his office I am always greeted with a smile from all his staff. I always feel comfortable and assured even when I have those dreaded gum grafts. My family's dental history has never been good but thankfully Dr. Youssef practices prevention. Regular cleaning and a yearly oral cancer scan has alleviated problems. To this day I have a full mouth of teeth with only a couple of crowns and an implant. I can look forward to a long life enjoying and eating food naturally.

This dental clinic was very nice for my family. Last year, my wife needed a dentist urgently because she had a terrible pain. First, we contacted two other dentists but they did not work well. I've been going to Dr. Youssef since I was a child. He is extremely light-handed. I've had many procedures done. Every single one of them have been successful. He always made sure to thoroughly explain the procedures beforehand and always made sure to follow-through afterwards. He even went as far as providing a contact # after office hours just in case I needed to reach him. His staff is extremely courteous and polite. In addition, I appreciate the fact that he is always up-to-date with the ever changing technology. Worst dentist in Montreal. It is a rip off. Went for a regular cleaning and then i was told that my gums needed to be cut with laser when all i needed was regular day care and some time. Dr youssef is very unprofessional and does not know how to talk to his patients. Was very rude to me as soon as i said that i was not sure i wanted to do it. He ACTUALLY started raising his voice at me. Took the other dentist apart as soon as i asked what exactly is wrong with my teeth. The staff is very friendly thought but not the doctor. I've seen a lot of doctors in my life, never had to go write a review on anyone. But what i saw today, just wanted to WARN ANYONE NOT TO GO THERE cause he will make sure to get the most money he can out of you. For the past years, my gums had receded to a point that had me seriously worried. My family dentist Dr. Michael Youssef, enthusiastically suggested Pinhole procedure, a "relatively" new procedure and the benefits. After careful consideration, I decided to go ahead. The procedure lasted a little less than two hours and was painless. I have had numerous procedures done by Dr. Youssef previously and this was no exception. He is very light-handed and a perfectionist. Moreover, he constantly communicates with the patient throughout the entire procedure. During the follow up, I got to see my before and after pictures on the screen, and the results were night and day. Therefore, when I needed to have a second "surgery", I did not hesitate for a moment. Once again the results exceeded my expectations. Before the procedure, Dr. Youssef informed me that the results vary from patient to patient. I will not be able to speak for others, in my case, I gambled twice and won very big. A very big thank you to Dr. Youssef and his caring team!

Hands down the best dentist for getting your wisdom teeth out in Montreal. Mine were quite impacted and difficult to extract. The entire experience was well thought out and executed perfectly. Dental jobs (like crowns) are passed with flying colors, the first crown is done 17 years ago and they are solid like rocks and the last one is 2 years ago. I will return see Dr. M. Youssef if I need other dental services.

AVOID THIS DENTIST Needed a dentist since I moved to Montreal and picked this place without first consulting the reviews (this later turned out to be a mistake). When I first came in for a cleaning I was told this cleaning would be done over two appointments. This was a bit of an annoyance and first the red flag in retrospect since I was expecting for x-rays and a cleaning to be done in one appointment (the case at any other dentist I've been to). However, it is what follows what makes this place terrible. I was told I need a night guard, and this would be over five additional appointments. Given the "gravity" of Dr. Youssef's diagnosis, I hesitantly agreed to go forward with it and make a guard. However, when I went back in for what I believed would be the first 'adjustments/slight alterations' appointment, I was told we now need to go forward with a 'bite adjustment' procedure where he would in some way alter my teeth. I was hesitant given the lack of information and stopped him there. Dr. Youssef never explained this at the beginning of the process, the pamphlet he provided said absolutely nothing on what this physically entails. My bite up to this period seemed fine, so I asked what he was physically going to do or what tools this 'procedure' required? He wouldn't give me one clear answer. Instead he actually got agitated, enraged that I asked such a question to him. He started saying that 'he was the expert here and I know nothing.' I kept my composure and insisted I *needed* to know what he was physically going to do before moving forward but he never gave me a clear medical answer. At this point I decided I wasn't going to go forward with a murky procedure where the dentist cannot thoroughly explain to the patient what that very procedure entails. His highly enraged reactions at this point immediately had me raising questions on if this procedure was even required. I haven't had any bite problems before. In retrospect, I suspect Dr. Youssef's ulterior motive is to just get 'clients' in here as much as he can and squeeze them dry financially. I will consult second opinions on all the 'issues' he raised, but for the fact alone that he could not fully explain the procedure he was about to perform should be more than enough to deter any future individual from ever going here.

I don't know anyone that likes to go to the Dentist Including me, But this is one Dentist office in the Heart of Montreal that have a great professional team, always made me comfortable and treated with great respect. And yes If you are looking for a professional Dentist I would recommend Dr. Michael Youssef.

I didn't have any issues with the treatment itself however I did notice dr. Youssef has a bad attitude and tries to suck money out of his patients. I asked the secretary and the doctor to tell me the price of my treatment before it was done, and asked several times if this would be the final price. They reassured me of the exact cost. After my treatment was done they wrote me a bill that was 70$ higher than the price I was told. When I asked why they gave me false information about the price, they just gave some bad excuses...

They only care about your money (DO NOT GO THERE) I went there and was told I'd need an expensive surgery or I'll have a serious problem in life later on. I went to multiple dentists for other opinions, every dentist told me that was not true and it was obvious they simply want to do the surgery to take your money.

I don't understand why this so-called "Dr" has such good ratings. Such an unprofessional person that shows off his true face once things don't go his way. I went for an invisalign consultation. First of all they said the consultation fees are 52$ then tried charing me 89$. 52$ for doing nothing! Just seeing my mouth and assessing my case. Anyway then he wanted me to do the imprints and x-Rays to assess my case, but when I said that I need to think about it. He burst in anger and rudely and with a loud voice started telling me what am I going to think about... Worse experience ever! I would never step foot into this person's clinic. I am not honoured to be in the presence of such figures of human beings.
