I was recently visiting Kelowna from Vancouver and required a second opinion on some extensive bridge work or transplant work that I require. Dr. Macdonnell was recommended to me by family members. Dr. Macdonnell was phenomenal in explaining to me why transplants, almost twice the cost of the bridge work, was the best possible solution and likely the most economical over my lifetime. Dr. Macdonnell was highly professional, thorough (spending almost an hour with me), and patient. He answered all my questions and not only discussed with me the pros and cons of the procedures, but clearly demonstrated with my x-rays why the transplants were the best option. He then visually shared with me what a transplant looks like. When I left his office, I was very confident about the decision I would make. While my dentist in Vancouver initially recommended transplants, when he saw I was anxious about the lengthy procedure, he suggested that I could manage with the bridge work. Dr. Macdonnell carefully explained that due to previous work, new bridge work was likely only a temporary solution. My only regret is that living in Vancouver, I can not have Dr. Macdonnell follow through with the work I require. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Macdonnell.

That is because of ALL of the staff at Advance Dental Group make it a positive experience, and Dr. Macdonnell is excellent at what he does and in his "bedside manner". After about 3 visits to different dentist around kelowna and the westside I was sure my tooth was beyond gone since all anyone wanted to do was pull it out... Then I come here and thats not the case at all. Everyone was so understanding about everything, from my financial situation and working with me to make sure it doesn't need to be pulled to having some of the best staff for someone with anxiety. Krista (I hope I remembered that correctly) was an absolute legend in are meeting and honestly took all the worries I had away as soon as I starting asking questions. Receptionist wouldn’t let me decline X-rays when booking my appointment after I said all I wanted was a cleaning with no x-rays ( I’m pregnant ). Seems odd to not let your patients have a choice especially given I have no concerns with cavities and had my previous X-rays forwarded to them from April when I had two cavities filled at that time. I will take my business elsewhere for sure.

I’ve had a lot of orthodontic and dental work in the past with many uncomfortable experiences. As I’m new to Kelowna I needed a dental office. Of course I was nervous when my appointment came. From the receptionist, dental hygentist and the dentist I had SUCH an amazing experience. They could tell I was nervous and talked me through everything. They really helped to make me feel less nervous to ease my anxiety especially the dental hygienist- she was amazing and had me making jokes by the end. Lots of options for distractions (music or Netflix) when your in the chair if needed. I was able to get lots of options to help with any dental issues I have and to let me know what’s important and what can wait. I highly recommend this office to anyone!!! Not to mention how beautiful and CLEAN the office is!

For many years I was experiencing a lot of problems with my teeth. I had many cavities, gum problems, and abscesses that lead to many root canals. I felt my dental problems had a detrimental effect on my health. Four years ago I met with Dr. Macdonnell. He reviewed my dental health and presented me with a plan that would help improve my dental problems. I remember vividly how carefully Dr. Macdonnell went through all the stages of the plan with me and my wife. He answered all my questions and explained in detail all the procedures, the time lines, and was fair with the total cost. Every time I arrived at his office I was treated like a member of their family from the reception desk to all his assistance and Dr. Macdonnell himself. Two years later the plan was completed. I was impressed with the results. No more pain! No more abscesses! No more root canals! I have 8 implants, veneers, crowns and a GREAT HEALTHY SMILE. Thanks Dr. Macdonnell and staff

When you first walk into the clean reception area you are greeted by the receptionists who will ask you if you'd like a water, tea or coffee. If you're tall, like myself, you won't actually see where the nescafe & water cooler are located but they are more than willing to show you where it is. After a minor wait a lovely hygienist will take you and your coat to a room with either a view of red robins roof (I think they grow their own veggies up there) or you get a wall for a view. After another minor wait your appointment will commence and Dr. MacDonnell will come in an do his business in a timely matter. Although a bit expensive, you do pay for the excellent service they provide! If you're lucky, you might be able to apply for financing for any of the dental you may need. I would highly recommend Advance Dental Group to pretty much anybody that wants great service.

Getting my wisdom teeth out here was a breeze. I signed in at the front desk, and they asked if I was ready to get my two lower wisdom teeth removed... I was confused at first but then realized I hadn't clarified that I wanted all 4 done at once. They were very accommodating and were able to fit me in to get all 4 done. The dental Assistant and Dr.Macdonnell made sure I was very comfortable. I only wanted to have freezing during the extractions instead of being put out; he made absolutely sure that I wasn't going to feel anything. The 4 extractions went much more quickly than I was expecting. I would definitely recommend going to see Dr. Macdonnell.

Let's face it.. most people cringe at the thought of going to a dentist.... right..? I did myself.... and then I met Andy. Yes, I call him Andy cause I"m old enough to be his grandmother. Had I met him sooner I'd undoubtedly have more teeth for the hygienist to clean... and him to poke around at. Not only does he have a sense of humour... but you can tell he really cares. If you’re reading this review, just book with the big dog Dr. Mac! This is the only dentist you need to know about in kelowna. Booking is a walk in the park, front desk staff get you in and out quickly. I’m sure there’s other greats in there but racheal is fantastic to have help along side Dr. Mac. She sets you up with some mean lookin shades and a remote for Netflix while they do the rest of the work! Before you see those two, make sure to get those tusks cleaned by Haylee! Going to the dentist might be one of the worst days you can have but this place will take your fears away!

I recently visited Advance Dental Group and had the best cleaning I've ever had, and I'm in my late thirties. My hygienist very gently and thoroughly scaled each tooth without digging hard at them or hooking the gums with her tools. This is normally a source of anxiety for me. Dr. MacDonnell not only has more credentials than any dentist I've ever seen, he also hires and develops the best staff from receptionists to hygienists. Pain free root canal? Not likely, according to everything I had heard about this procedure. Yet my experience with Dr. Macdonnell was as close to an ideal treatment as I could have hoped. I even caught myself dozing off while in his dental chair! Having had Dr. Macdonnell as my dentist for close to 20 years I've always appreciated his skill and professionalism, his ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner, and his sense of humour which always seems to shorten my time in the dental chair. I've always found him to be a top notch dentist and his staff extremely first rate - I would recommend Doc Mac (you can call him that, he likes it) to anyone looking for a dental experience with a professional who has truly mastered his craft.

I answered an add for a free teeth cleaning and they only then told me that it was part of a package that included other services which would incur additional costs. They indicated that this was mentioned somewhere on the original add but I certainly didn't see it and I looked as I was suspicious of getting something for nothing. I feel that this promotion is at least misleading, if not entirely deceptive.

Dr. Sigouin is an incredible dentist; though young, she comes across as exceedingly competent and genuinely empathetic. She repeatedly assessed my comfort level during the procedure (which was entirely painless from start to finish). She has a wonderful bedside manner and great sense of humor as well, and is extremely careful and methodical. Even though I was just in for a simple filling, she called me later that day to check up on me and encouraged me to call back if I experienced any issues. I recommend her in the strongest possible terms.

I was really grateful for the professionalism and quality of care given by Dr. Macdonnell and his assistants Rachel and Taylor. They were great at keeping me informed of the procedures they were about to perform. I also was particularly impressed with the thoroughness and care given by his hygienist Jenna. She has an upbeat chair side manner and conveys the importance of good oral hygiene without being preachy. I am glad I made the switch!
