Super friendly staff who take the time to show you around the office on your first visit and explain everything as they go. I find it a relaxing environment as far as dental offices go, everything is clean and top notch for equipment. Having the sedation option is great for those who are more nervous with dentists. Both my daughters have been here for sedation and dental care and both being scared of needles were handled very well by staff to help them relax and feel comfortable. Definitely the most informative office I've been to as far as sitting down and discussing treatment plans in private and options available.

Dr Hansford and his staff are all exceptional. My dental work consisted of a lower dental implant. I chose for the sedation treatment and it was the best experience I had ever had. I woke up as if I just had a nap. There was no discomfort and there was minimal pain. Over the course of time of being involved with Dr Hansford and his staff I was always well informed about the procedures. Dr Hansford is a perfectionist and it shows in the fine detail of his work. I am so happy with my implant, Dr Hansford has changed my life. I highly recommend him.

Just spoke to customer service. In Kamloops I was trying the Dentist for the first time. I told the agent " Danica" I think and another one is Marsha. I am not comfortable signing the document which was asking for money deduction. Well horendus customer service. I told customer service I can come and see doctor but I am not comfortable signing any sort of Document. She just said ok I will cancel the appointment. Did not even see Doctor wish I could give them zerooooooooooooo "0" rating. Charging customer a cancellation fees. Simply wow no comments. "Ridiculous". I had dental surgery this morning where Dr Hansford installed an implant for a new tooth. I opted for no sedation. As with my previous appointment for the extraction, I was amazed at how smoothly and painlessly the whole procedure went. I was nervous at the beginning, but Dr Hansford and his staff are very understanding and professional and made the whole experience a positive one. I needn’t have been nervous as there was no pain. I initially chose to see Dr. Hansford because he does sedation dentistry. This was very important to me because of my chronic pain issues. I needed someone who was going to take my concerns over pain management seriously. The dental hygienist was very sweet and knowledgeable - we chatted the whole time as she showed me through the office, introduced me to the other hygienists, and took my x-rays. Dr. Hansford was incredibly patient as I explained my concerns. He listened, explained how he would manage my pain, and put me completely at ease. I also liked how he worked with the hygienist. The front counter, the dentist, and the majority of the staff are outstanding. The dentist pretty much said I have perfect teeth and was gushing about how I was doing everything right. He was super nice and made me feel comfortable. The dental cleaning however was not as pleasant. Dental cleaning woman (I can’t remember her name) was pretty rude to me. Apparently my teeth might fall out later on in life (even though I floss every day or every second day) I also brush my teeth twice a day and use a mouthwash as much as possible. Lol take a look at my teeth and see for yourself lol. I don’t think I will be booking a cleaning there again. Sorry to say because the rest of the staff was amazing.

The last of the shody work you did a couple years ago fell out. I only went to you because my friend was offered an incentive to refer people. I knew instantly that you were an ingenuine fraud but after an hour or more of the bizzaire photos I felt committed. That plus the shaming. "Your teeth are terrible." Dr Hansford has been my dentist for around 20 years. I have never had even a slightly negative experience. All of the staff are always kind, knowledgeable and go above and beyond. Two of my best experiences: Dr Hansford removed all four of my wisdom teeth at once and did a filling under conscience sedation. I had very little pain and no bruising or issues afterward. I then broke a front tooth off some years ago. They got me in within two hours and gave me a temporary veneer. The final veneer is perfectly shaped and shaded. I’ve even had two orthodontists not notice until I mentioned it! They were both very impressed. The staff also did a lot of work for us to get the full cost of the veneer covered. The clinic itself is beautiful and they use very modern techniques with cleanings. I highly recommend Smile Dentistry!

Fantastic dentist! My boyfriend was in need of getting a tooth pulled and was in lots of pain. We were using another dentist, who unfortunately couldn't pull the tooth and just prescribed pain meds. Dr. Hansford's clinic fit him in as soon as they could, and were able to same day pull the tooth right then and there! He was impressed with the new facility and the cutting edge technology that they had there! Definitely a place that I will easily recommend! I went to Smile Dentistry to have my wisdom teeth removed, as everywhere else had huge waitlists and/or was not sedating. This is not my regular dentist. In terms of the procedure, I have no concerns. However, their billing practices are unlike anything I have ever encountered from a dental office. I have been a patient of several dentists in my life, and never have I been asked to: 1. Pay a $30 fee for a predetermination from my benefits 2. Pay upfront any charges that they feel my benefits will not cover (despite them saying they will cover it on the pre determination) 3. Unorganized, and lack of communication. They are also about 10-20% more than the average dentist, due to their 'upscale' office which is unnecessary. I dont need you do have a DSLR and take a photo of me to keep my face on file, thanks. I'd rather pay less fees than to go a fancy dental office. I will not be returning to this dentist, and will continue with my regular dentist for all future appointments.

I'm only 39 and I knew I had major issues with my teeth, so I finally had my first dentist visit and cleaning in 12 years. I was so pleased with Dr. Hansford and his team. My hygienist Doris was amazing and so pleasant to be around and converse with. Dr. Hansford was very professional, but also down to earth and personal. I liked him from the start, and after reviewing the extensive work that needed to be done, I decided to go for it and get the work done at his clinic. I had struggled with very sensitive teeth for 18 years due to exposed roots and a receding gum line. So, in all I had 24 fillings done to cover the exposed roots and 3 small cavities. Dr. Hansford was an artist when he worked on my teeth. He and his assistant did such an amazing job as they fixed my teeth for over 2 hours, and after the anesthetics wore off, I didn't even take any pain meds as there was very little discomfort. My teeth feel great now and I'm also a lot more confident when I smile. I liked how respectful, informative and personal they are at this clinic (not pushy and pressuring), and although their prices were a bit higher than others in town, I was actually happy to pay more for the amazing service. My wife and kiddos will hopefully be joining me at this clinic, as they are unhappy with their current dentists. When I first decided to get my mouth fixed, I didn't want to go to my wife's dentist, so I just searched online for the place with the most positive reviews and hands down, Smile had the most impressive amount of happy customers. I'm glad I took the time to search, because now I'm another happy customer added to the list. Cheers :)

We are new to Kamloops and chose Dr. Hansford as our dentist for a number of reasons including past reviews and ease of access. Following a couple of cleanings and maintenance visits he recommended a couple of filling replacements along with a crown replacement. This was recently completed as planned. I was a little apprehensive prior to the procedure only because I had not had any major work done on my teeth involving freezing or anesthetic for at least 12 years or more. To my amazement, this procedure including the creation of a new crown, was completed in less than 1.5 hours. Dr. Hansford and the technician assisting were constantly ensuring I was comfortable and worked quickly and effectively to complete this work as planned. When I had crowns completed in the past, over 15 years ago, they involved multiple visits and considerably more "chair" time. I did experience some minor pain later in the day as the freezing came out my upper jaw where all the work had been completed. I followed the instructions issued to me and my recovery was quick. Overall I would definitely recomend this dentist to anyone. It is obvious this is a very well run office with the latest equipment and technology. All the staff I have dealt with appear to be very knowledgable and well trained. Thanks to all at Smile Dentistry!

I called back in May to schedule a mid year cleaning for my family. We have a baby so I had stagger the appoints so one of us could be with the baby. The earliest they could accommodate me, my wife and toddler son us was September 20th. I contacted Smile Dentistry today to confirm our appointment and informed me my wife and I were set up to go in side by side. The receptionist suggested we have the baby wait at reception in the car seat along with our toddler son. I explained I was not comfortable with that so she tried to re-schedule. The earliest the could accommodate us was January!!! Would not recommend Smile Dentistry for anyone with a young family. Cedar Dental Clinic was very accommodating and we will be moving our business there moving forward. We are currently booked for Oct.4th:-)

WOW!! Where should I start, it was definitely an out of this world experience for me. All I remember was sitting down in the dentist chair and the next thing I remember was waking from my bed at home. That was exactly all I would like to remember instead of the details of my procedure along with the sedation. I have to say that I did have some reservations and worries with Dr. Hansford’s recommendations for me due to my health conditions. However, he and his professional team did a great job of providing me with detailed information and explanations on the procedure that were planned for me with my best interests in mind. They even consulted with my health insurance company and obtained pre-approval on the treatments planned for me, so that there were no worries to me. I also think that it was very thoughtful of Dr. Hansford to provide me with prescription medicines for post treatment prior to my procedure. His team provided me with detailed information and directions prior to the procedure. Although, I don’t remember my procedure, I can tell that I was well looked after since I wasn’t in lots of pain the next day. My face wasn’t swollen up badly either. Most of all, I didn’t have to take any of my pain killer medication. Drugs for sale!! LOL! I was very pleased with how well everything went and I’ll definitely not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hansford and his team to anyone at all. My only comment to Dr. Hansford is that a follow up check-up appointment with the patient a week after the procedure would be good, to reassure patient that everything is healing as it should be and what to watch out for, if any. There is no need for me to mention anyone particular in Dr. Hansford’s office that is exceptional since everyone that I dealt with were all very experienced, knowledgeable and professional in everything they do.

If you are currently looking for a good dentist, we highly recommend Dr. Hansford in Valleyview. Besides regular dental maintenance - cleaning, cavities, etc.; we have had him perform major work for us in the past. First, his staff and himself crowned Deborah's upper front teeth (eight in total). They look 100% natural and original - she is always being complimented on them. Secondly, his office installed an implant for my two front teeth. They were on their second set of crowns, had fallen victim to abscess, root canal, and the bone mass was severely compromised. This meant extensive bone augmentation. After a one year process, the implant was finalized and looks completely natural. Implants truly are the closest thing to your own teeth. In short, the work of Dr. Hansford and his staff is impeccable and above reproach. We can highly recommend them to anyone that appreciates precision craftsmanship. The good doctor even takes requests - Nirvana played the day that I was there.

Recently I had a dental emergency, I contacted the office only to find out they were on holidays for the next 10 days...oh no! I left a short message on answering machine...this was Friday evening about 7pm. I was contacted the next day, given a plan to tide me over till they returned. Dr. Hansford is my hero! First and foremost the Dr. returned my 2 am message at 530 am. He managed to diagnose me by 930 am after quick x rays. He also squeezed me in at 11am for surgery. Dr. Hansford had the help of JULIA and DANICA. These 3 were a great team and were so outstanding with my emergency repair. The staff at Smile Dentistry are professional acute and respectful. Their facilities are also top of the line and very clean. I highly recccomend this establishment as my two dental implants have been feeling great and are on the road to recovery. I have SEVERE anxiety. In life, not just the dentist. I chose this place because they offer sedation dentistry. I am so lucky I found them! I needed a TON of work done from a combination of dentist avoidance and lack of insurance. They got as much work done in each visit as possible under IV sedation. I was so comfortable, they made sure I was okay, warm, checked to make sure I didn't have to go to the bathroom and seemed to make the best decisions for the integrity of my teeth. I also felt no judgement on my poor dental care when I went in. I especially appreciate the girls working at the front desk who answered my many, many, questions, and everyone helping Dr. Hansford with my procedures were just fantastic. Strongly recommended.

Unfortunately you have to trust your dentist. I found out from another dentist on my recent x-rays that Dr. Hansford left hooks on my filings and now I have cavities under them. I have to have them all removed and will need to go through the pain of these procedures and to boot pay for them all again. They say they are guaranteed however you won't know the quality until you go to another dentist. If your willing to go through this situation and pay for everything twice they have a nice waiting room for you to enjoy.

I am giving them 2 stars because they are very nice people. I took my daughter in for an initial visit and exam. They are very expensive. Even with When100% coverage I was still having to pay?? The way they bill does not make sense to me. So we switched to a different dentist..the new dentist office requested the x rays that my daughter just had done from smile dentistry so that we wouldn't have to do them again. She had at leas15 at smile..and they only sent 4 to the new dentist. So she had to get them done again which does not make me happy as we just paid almost $250.00 to have them done, and she had to be exposed for x-rays again. Like I said very nice people though and very helpful but very expensive. Also they charge 10% above normal.
