This office pushes expensive dental work on patients. I initially came here with a tooth emergency. Dr Généreux gave me antibiotics stating that I should take them as a precaution so that I don't develop an infection, even though there was no sign of one. The antibiotics led to a tumultuous year of health issues (I know better now to listen to such direction). When I told the dentist about my reaction to the antibiotics, he was very dismissive and showed no empathy or care. Several of the staff tried to push crowns on me at every visit ("So would you like a filling or a crown?" was the question. If I only need a filling, why the hell would I want to go through with a crown?! Money grab). They also tried to push additional cleaning dental visits (eg the receptionist said: "its really not that much more when not covered by insurance." if it's so cheap, perhaps she'd like to pay for it herself? In my books, $100+ is quite a lot to shell out voluntairly). What's more, one of the assistants is outright incompetent, she almost made me vomit by stuffing my mouth with those plastic squares for xrays. My mouth hurt for a full day afterwards, and I have never had problems with this when done by other technicians. Then, they scheduled me for a filling visit that could have been postponed to a new insurance plan year (they have access to balances and so they were aware I'd pay out of pocket). They didn't even give me a warning. Had I since it a few weeks later, I could have saved over $200. I find this disrespectful and again shows that for this office, money is first. Finally today I found through a visit elsewhere, that this dentist left a gap between my root canal and filling, setting himself up nicely in case I'd need a crown later on. The specialist now told me I need to redo this filling because it's not done properly. I'm disgusted. If I ever need any dental work again, you can be sure it won't be from here. In fact, I think I'd rather drive to my dental office back in the GTA.
