Hossai is really helpful to arrange the schedule and insurance coverage based on our family needs. Westdale Dentistry is our family dental clinic! I really liked the clinic, it is clean and people there are nice and friendly specially Dr. Heba. It is a great clinic specially for international students since they directly send the charges to your insurance company just by knowing your student number. I had my teeth cleaned and my many cavities filled. Dr Heba is my doctor there, she is so friendly and patient in case you get nervous. I had many cavities filled "since I have a very big sweet tooth" without any kind of pain. Another great thing for international students is that Dr Heba will adjust and prioritize the needed work according to your available insurance. I would say, I recommend this clinic and specially Dr Heba.

Dr. Wissam is a great dentist! I don't say that very lightly. I have not had the best experience with dentists so I've always been apprehensive about going to the dentist. He was very kind and considerate throughout the appointment. The staff is also exceptional. Very kind and fun people to chat with. Special shout out to Ossia because it is always great to see a POC women in front-facing roles. Such a joyful spirit! Highly recommend!!!

This office did a wonderful job. They managed to book me in and keep the dentist late to see me- I had severe pain in my back teeth and the dentist concluded I need to extract my wisdom teeth. I have a slight phobia of the dentist but they suggested I undergo general anesthesia to perform the extraction and I'm so happy I did that. I didn't feel anything and a week after my surgery I am healing well. Dr young is great and I really recommend this office.

When I first started going to this clinic I really thought I found a dentist that I liked. However, after an incident where they screwed up, and I had a panic attack because of it, which made me a bit nervous and a lot hesitant on a subsequent visit, they refused to continue to treat me. Claiming that I was abusive, which, while I admit, my anxiety has caused me to get angry in the past. The worst that could have said of me during my last visit was that I wasn't happy and chipper, and just wanted to to get the whole thing over with. In other words, they are not actually very good at dealing with patients with severe dental anxiety. So unless you're always at your happiest and best when going to the dentist, I wouldn't suggest going here. Unless you would like to be personally maligned, and then after repeated attempts to get a copy of your records, for your next dentist, refused to get them to me.

The front desk staff are "okay" ... it took 3 people to walk by before someone checked me in - and they looked at me as though they weren't sure why I'd be waiting by the front desk. The two hygenists who took care of my kids (both under 10) were awesome - patient, chatty, letting them relax. The dentist who came in for a quick check (I forget his name - he was from Egypt as we talked Liverpool soccer), was also friendly with the kids and very personable.

Very unprofessional and only care about money! First, I had X-rays done and the dentist (I don't know his name as they still have not emailed me back with that information) said that I had multiple cavities that needed to be filled asap, he also said I need fillings on two sensitive teeth because of receding gums. This raised a big red flag-I could not see any cavities on the X-rays, and who would drill into healthy teeth to put fillings in for sensitivity?? At the front desk when leaving the receptionist had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to put "mom or dad's credit card on file"...this did not sit well with me whatsoever. Who is she to ask this personal question? Very unprofessional and none of her business. Obviously when I left I was extremely upset that I let them bill my Mohawk insurance for approx $250 of my $750 I had available. I had my X-rays sent to another dentist because I did not believe a word this one said and can you believe it....NO CAVITIES!! They tried to drill into HEALTHY teeth! I am beyond disgusted with this dental office and will never recommend them to anyone. Avoid going here to have your insurance maxed quickly, unprofessional and rude staff, and unnecessary work done!

It had been a while since I'd visited a dentist. So I had to get the works done. That being said, I can't believe the price was so fair and accommodating, that I didn't have to worry about coverage. People tend to skip these essentials because of financial issues. But this location has the best price, the best staff, the best dentist, best service, best customer service, best overall experience, and I've lived all over the world, and the quality of service was above and beyond, even when I compare it to the VIP service in Dubai, where I lived, Wesdale Dentistry really did a hell of a job. By far the most pleasant dental experience I've ever had. Thank You!

I was looking for a dentist for my husband, who had a dental emergency. I came across Westdale Dentistry on Google Maps. I was really impressed with the reviews and especially as a few of them had mentioned that they were budget conscious for seniors and students (my husband is a senior on pension). To be honest, I thought they were almost too good :) however after my husband came back after his appointment, and told me about how he had been treated, I want readers to believe that these are genuine reviews and cannot recommend Dr Wissam Abbas and the Westdale Dental Clinic team highly enough. My husband was stressed out from his dental problems and worrying about the cost. From the get go, Westdale Dentistry put him at ease. They accepted him as a Emergency case and gave him an appointment within a few hours of his call to them. Immediately they emailed their patient application form which was easy to fill in and return and obviously saves time at the clinic. Dr Wissam went above and beyond in kindness, consideration and caring and did a great job putting my husbands fallen crowns back in place, and a smile on his face. Our gratitude and thanks to you, Dr. Wissam.

I checked my folder and they spelt my name wrong. Another person's file was in my folder. They documented my filling for 2016 when it was done in 2017. Also I was provided with a hygienist instead of the dentist when I told them about a cavity. After completing a filling, part of it chipped off. I had that fixed but the gums felt terrible. I asked the dentist about the issue and he said it was probably the filling disturbing my gums. Two weeks later, an abscess grew out of the infection and now I'm headed for a root canal. Not happy about my experience at all.

Was given misinformation about cost of a consultation--asked upon booking and was told it was free, then was pestered for insurance information upon arrival and they tried to do X-rays, etc as part of the consult (major cost). Would not recommend them.

My dentist was great, but anyone choosing to attend this clinic needs to be prepared to advocate for their rights. I hope the info below helps anyone going through similar disputes with unethical practices at this clinic: I called prior to booking an appointment to confirm that no out of pocket fees would be incurred under my insurance plan. Once I arrived at the dental centre, I once again asked the receptionist if everything would be covered under my insurance. She reassured me that I would not need to pay anything out of pocket. Payment through insurance was processed at the end of my visit and I was told that everything was good to go, I did not need to pay anything. Weeks go by and I receive a payment statement, claiming I owe money. I called to clear up the confusion and was informed by a different receptionist that my insurance plan did not cover white fillings for back molars. However, I was never informed by my dentist that white fillings would be placed in my back teeth, its price and let alone that there were even options for different fillings. I tried to explain to the receptionist how there was no informed consent taken prior to the procedure & that I was provided wrong information, from which I based my decisions to proceed with the procedure on. I was told that it was my responsibility to know my policy & I should have asked the dentist all these questions beforehand. This is so illogical because I did inquire about fees and was told on multiple occasions (both prior to and right after my appointment) that nothing would be of cost to me personally. An advisor from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons further supported my point by stating that in order for me to know my policy, I need to be informed of what my options at the clinic were. It is part of practicing with due diligence. Once I am informed of my options, then I would be able to research into my policy and discover what is covered. The receptionist seemed set in her ways, so I asked to speak with the manager, but was told I could not have her number. She also told me that there's nothing the clinic could do & that I should call my insurance to work out having white fillings covered under my plan. I looked into policies protecting the public on both the Canadian Dental Association & Royal College of Dental Surgeons websites. There are quite a few documents stating that dentists are required to obtain informed consent. Informed consent could only be obtained if my treatment options, along with pricing, were provided to me. The receptionist claimed the clinic does not offer options, only white fillings, so I should have known based on my policy. Again, this is untrue because the advisor also clarified that "no procedure" is considered an option. I have spoken with 2 advisors from the CDA & RCODS. Both parties have validated my concerns and expressed agreement with the facts I presented to the receptionist. I was polite throughout every exchange, but the receptionist was quite dismissive. It seems like the clinic was unaware of my policy at my initial visit, processed my procedures, then realized not everything was covered once the insurance claim was returned to her. As a result, I am now literally paying for their mistake. Quite disappointed that a health care service would hire staff who feel dignified in sitting behind a counter, dismissing patients with legitimate concerns and supporting evidence.

I was a student at Mohawk College in 2012 and went to Westdale Dental Centre for dental services. After the services, I was not informed of the dental claim process with the insurance company and instead Westdale Dental Centre handed my file to Collection Specialist Inc.(debt collector) I only discovered that I was owing an amount to this lousy dental centre in 2017. What a SCAM! My advice is STAY THE HELL AWAY from Westdale Dental Centre and their unprofessional staff.

Excellent clinic! Right from the receptionist, to the dental hygienist to the dentist. As I was travelling here from Burlington, I had no appointments at the clinic and was walking in due to a complication from a tooth extraction, I had at another clinic. The service I received here is amicable! I was in a lot of pain and discomfort but they treated me with utmost care, explained to me everything and completed the short procedure efficiently. They really heard me and my fears and took the extra step to give me the pain medication for a procedure where this is not there typical practice. I would recommend this clinic to anyone and I am impressed with their service!!

Front desk staff have serious attitude issues. There is a 48 hour cancellation fee of $50.00 which they will still charge if one is ill or there is bad weather such as freezing rain storms where the police are telling the public to stay home if you don't have to go out but front desk staff say you have to go or get charged $50.00. One Hygienist was friendly but I am not seeing her any more. Asked for chairs with arms to make the procedures more comfortable and they will not accommodate that and are snarky when asked. I have severe anxiety when I go to the dentist and this was my second time going to Westdale and they were just amazing, so warm and welcoming and most of all understands as to how nerve wrecking a trip to the dentist can be. They made my teeth look so great and we had great discussions the whole time (somehow despite me not being able to talk!!). I felt so comfortable telling the dentist what I wanted and did not want and it was like spending time with a friend. As soon as I walked out, a lady at the coffee shop said to me : "you have great teeth!". Good job to the team here and thank you so much! Highly recommend this place.

This review is only for Dental hygienist Andrea, if anyone wants their teeth cleaned or have any concerns, she is the best person to go to. I moved to Toronto because I graduated school, went to visit a different hygienist, and I realized how painful teeth cleaning can be, and how skillful Andrea was (which is why I decided to write a review). She's super efficient, and cause very minimal pain, I never felt nervous to go in. Dr service is a different story though, I went back 3 times to fix the poor cavity filling job Dr Jamal did for a tiny simple cavity.

I am beyond grateful to the staff at the Westdale Dental Centre. I until the past 6 months had allowed my health and especially my dental health to rapidly decline. I had avoided the dentist for close to a decade and had a lot of fear, shame and embarrassment regarding the state of my teeth. From the moment I entered the office and furthermore on my call to book my appointment I was met with a degree of compassion and understanding that quite honestly has left me overwhelmed. The care, patience and expertise of the hygienist was extraordinary. Additionally the receptionist was equally as kind and understanding. I wanted to ask him if he was a teacher of dentistry because his ability to communicate with his assistant and myself was excellent. I must also express how great the front end staff are. They are warm, friendly and show respect and caring. This is the best Dental office I've been to in Hamilton and I highly recommend them. FIVE STAR! This is by far, the BEST Dental place I've gone too. I'm in my mid 60's and was once a dental assistant myself. I know what I am talking about.????❤️

All they want is to max out your insurance limit, perform a lot of unnecessary dental procedure and rip you off. I am a graduate student, a father of a toddler, living in very limited TA income and OSAP (also doing part time work to support my study) and with only $1000 limit of dental coverage. At the beginning, I told them to do my dental cavity filling within my $1000 limit. However, at the beginning they did lots of X-rays, unnecessary dental cleaning, and they spent more than $500 to figure out which teeth to do filling, and after all the filling was done, they sent me bill in my home address that my dental filling was not fully covered, and I have to pay $326 more out of my pocket. I will never recommend them to any student.

I was referred to this office by a friend because they offer IV sedation. I was very anxious at the dentist before but I was able to remove my wisdom teeth and I did not feel pain or discomfort. The dentist Dr. Young was confident and told me what I was to expect afterward in terms of minor swelling and they also told me to come back if I have any problems but I am fine and happy. Overall I am happy this office was able to see me and they are great.

In general, I wasn't happy with the service. I saw a restorative hygienist who made the assessment. I only saw the dentist toward the end of my assessment who merely confirmed the assessment. I spoke to someone on the phone regarding making a billing plan and I later left a message on the voicemail. No one got back to me. I subsequently got a text three weeks later saying a payment is due I later called and asked for a student discount because I still attend McMaster university and I was told they bill using the current "fee guide" and that no discounts are given. This would contradict other reviews. I felt the care was reasonable but the communication to be lacking. It seems different people work at different times and -- based on the person -- you'll likely get a different answer.

First visit to this dentist and I must say I'm impressed. Easy location to find, super nice staff, thorough cleaning and the dentist was very cool. I found them to be funny, knowledgeable, and very sincere - something you don't find often. Also, they processed my insurance right away meaning I didn't have to pay out of pocket despite it being my first visit. Will be coming back.

I had a great experience at Westdale Dental. Dr. Hooman cares about patients. He even asked if I had a bad experience with dentist when I was little because I am too nervous when I was receiving my treatment. Dr. Hooman was very gentle and every time he explained the treatment details very clearly. Highly recommend this dental clinic!

Westdale Dental Centre is truly incredible. From the cheerful and diligent staff they have at their front desks, to the hygienists, to the doctors, the entire experience is exceptional. I suffer from extreme anxiety and panic attacks and they have truly helped me overcome my fear of the dentist and even (when I’m done lol) really grow to enjoy it. Joanne is exceptional and really understands people with anxiety and has really help me manage my oral care while dealing with extreme mental health issues. And that’s not easy! The entire staff are so kind and helpful, it’s truly the best dental centre I’ve ever been to. If you are anxious about going to the dentist, I HIGHY recommend this awesome place.

Although the actual cleaning was fantastic, I would have to say that the way business is done here is a little appalling. I made an appointment here based on the review that says it was easy to get Westdale Dental to bill the insurance through your school. That much was true. What I didn't appreciate was having 2 sets of x-rays done, my cleaning, and probing, which required me to see a hygenists, and the dentist. They maxed out the $500 billing, and I didn't find out until I was at the front desk when the secretary told me I have a cavity, and it will be $250 to be filled. How is it a secret that I have a f'ing cavity -- and why didn't anyone tell me before I was leaving?? Did you really need an x-ray of my sinus?? I feel that I should have been a little more aware of what they were doing, and how they were billing me before I'm out the door. They saw a $, and proceeded to use every penny. How tacky is that?

I am very disappointed with the service, especially with the front desk. I booked a month ago for cleaning and check up for my son. When I came there with my son, the front desk told me that there is no appointment for my son. I cancelled right away the appointment and I cancelled it for my wife too. The front desk is not friendly
