I've been coming to this dental office since I moved to Halifax 5 years ago. The office is always clean, and the staff are always friendly and knowledgable. I've always had a positive experience with this office, and i've referred a couple of people because I know they will have a similar experience.

What started out as a simple, "I should probably get my teeth checked out" turned into one of the best customer experiences I've had. Dr. Lawen and his staff are always friendly, ready to help and explain anything you may need. Routine things like fillings and cleanings are made pleasant through the staff's great sense of humor and overall good vibe. I wish I could take them with me everywhere I go, and will certainly be one of this things I miss from living in Halifax. If you're looking for a HRM dentistry, look no further.

Lawen Dentistry is an excellent dental practice, which I would highly recommend. When I was a child, I wish I could have had someone like Dr. Lawen as my dentist. My whole family has been coming here for years, and has never failed to be well-served. I've always found the staff to be kind, caring, and unfailingly professional. My kids look forward to their regular checkups! Although the clinic offers a wide range of products and services, including a number of what I'm sure are very profitable cosmetic procedures, I have never witnessed any type of sales pitch or inappropriate promotion, unlike what I've heard about some other clinics. A model to be emulated!

I called with an emergency as one of my crowns had fallen out on Sunday leaving a gap on the side of my mouth...Not a pretty sight...I called early Tuesday ( MOnday was a long weekend) and spoke with Tina , well I can confirm that I cannot say enough...she did not even try to sway me from coming in that day...I felt she understood, researched my dental records and confirmed with me that in fact is was the crown that would show the most and therefore placed me on hold and then proceeded to tell me that the dentist would see me at 11:20...It even goes further I think, this was a chance for Dr Lawen to make a few extra bucks aaahha. as he could have said the existing crown, which I brought with me, was useless however he examined my post and crown and determined all was fine and all that was needed was to re-cement the post...I left that office floating thinking wow what an honest man....I was thinking of maybe looking around for another dentist as Dr Baird from the same office has now retired...They now have me as a patient forever...I cannot say enough..Thank you Tina, thank you Dr Lawen...Way to go..

I had a dental implant crown at their office, the doctor obviously didn't have experience how to place it, experimenting in my mouth. His assistant was choosing the colour on my behalf, I wanted a white colour, and she put the darker one. I ended up having to wait for another implant to be made,....etc. She was also envious of me when I wanted to have braces or invesilign. Dr. Lawen was selling me his whitening teeth products till I ended up having one, it didn't work, made my teeth so sensitive......Finally, these people will be nice to you if you're willing to pull your teeth and have them re-done in their clinic at your own cost. If there was a -5, I will give it to them.

He was very open and honest with me, and made me feel like he genuinely cares about my recovery and journey to feeling confident with my smile. I have been to Lawen Dentistry to see Dr. Hunter on several occasions recently. On every visit I have been greeted warmly and waited less than 10 minutes (roughly about 5 minutes on average). Dr. Hunter has been very pleasant during the appointments and would always keep me aware of the procedure and any further steps that would need to be taken. It made me feel like a part of my dental care. I have never felt like I was being judged for my poor choice of habits (i.e. smoking, drinking excessive coffee). Lawen Dentistry offices have always been clean and the employees are all very pleasant and welcoming. I would be hard pressed to say that I enjoyed a visit to the dentist but I will say that it has been the best dental experience I have ever had. Thank you Dr. Hunter and thank you Lawen Dentistry.

I got a filling in between my back molars and noticed some pain for the next few days. It seemed to go away within a few weeks, and a few months later I moved home. Fast forward to about a year later and my tooth hurts again. Well, a few nights ago I was flossing and a part of my tooth popped out. My current dentist told me that the filling had cracked my tooth and the filling popped out with some of my life enamel. I have an emergency filling scheduled in the new year. Everyone was very nice and friendly, but I'm disappointed and angry to have to be paying for emergency dental services in the midst of all that's going on right now.

So Amazing! Every time I'm due for a visit something comes up last minute and these folks are so accommodating. I've been super lucky. I can't remember how I came to be a patient at this practice but I'm really pleased I did. I've had to have a fair bit of work done on my teeth - including implants - of late and as someone who struggled with anxiety in dentists' offices in the past, I can honestly say that I feel safe and well cared-for with Dr. Lawen and the dental hygienists. I am just finishing up my Invisalign treatment program with dr. Lawen and I could not be happier With my results, his and his assistants guidance and my overall experience. My smile has been a huge insecurity of mine for as long as I can remeber and all of the staff were so supportive and kind. They always took the time to answer my many many questions never making me feel rushed. I did an expedited treatment program for 15 weeks using both the chews and the vibrational tool. I am absolutely floored by how quickly my smile has been perfected. Of course this treatment program was designed by Dr. Lawen and he is most certainly a perfectionist. Although the treatment at times was uncomfortable every visit at the clinic was painless and quick! I’ve conversed with a lot of other people going through treatment and it seems as though my program was unique and tailored to me which I really appreciated. Highly recommend at least stoping in for a consult if your seeking out treatment. I have had consults elsewhere in the past and lawen dentistry stood apart for me.

I’ve been to a few dentists and Lawen Dentistry is by far the best. I have always needed braces and did not get them as a kid so I was always self conscious of my smile. I decided now (in my 20s) that it was time to fix my teeth and I looked at a few dentists hoping to get Invisalign’s so I wouldn’t have to wear braces as an adult. They all seemed to tell me that it was impossible and I’d need full on braces or it would take years with Invisalign’s but when I went for a consult with Dr. Lawen he came up with a plan for Invisalign’s and said it would take about a year and now here I am 6 months later with straight teeth and have finished with the Invisalign’s. I am more than happy with the results and extremely thankful for the great team they have at Lawen Dentistry who were helpful every step of the way. Definitely recommend!

VERY accessible to disabilities. Let me have a support person with me when I needed one, always very clear and never seemed bothered by the many questions I'd ask, and if they didn't have the answer immediately they would get back to me (Thanks Michelle, you rock!). I had ten years of dentistry to catch up on, and a lifetime of orthodontic care, meaning at one point I had 3 appointments in a week. The time from booking an appointment to the time of treatment is shockingly quick. I'll update as I continue my orthodontic treatment plan but so far everything has been great and they really are as welcoming as they say - and the best local price for orthodontic care that I've found, and it's good, comprehensive care despite how good the price is. Did I mention accessible? I'm not sure if it's my age or if I missed a phone call but they default to text communication with me (that I can actually reply to, it's not automated!) for contact which is so accessible to me. Phone calls can be extremely difficult for me, and if I miss them I'll likely never get back to them. I love being able to text my dental clinic to move an appointment or make or cancel one, or even to say an attachment for my invisalign came off, no matter what time of day and they will respond when they're back in the office. This should be the standard, and they should advertise this because personally I'd switch family doctors or eye doctors or anything really if I could avoid phone calls about appointments. Off the charts accessibility and welcoming environment keep it up guys, I'll be sure to recommend Lawen Dentistry to anyone looking.
