First dental appointment (with the hygienist for cleaning and x-rays) since the start of the SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19 pandemic - very well organized, from online pre-screening for symptoms or risk factors e.g. travel, contact with someone who has COVID-19, etc to checking patients' temperature on entry. Each of the hygienists' stations have been isolated with floor-to-ceiling plastic film sealed with tape, and entry into each is via an opening sealed by a magnetic closure. Each station is equipped with an air filtration device, and all surfaces are cleaned with sanitizer between patients. The hygienist was very thorough, as usual, and explained what he was doing at each step. I was very comfortable with all the precautions that were taken to minimize the risk of transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and felt safe throughout my visit. Overall, very happy to be able to safely get back in to the dentist's office for dental care.

I had a frenectomy and gum graphing done by Dr.Ahmad about 2 years ago. While the procedure did not go as well as hoped, after hearing that I had to have the procedure done again, Dr. Ahmad called me to check up and refund me my money. It should be noted, that while the original procedure did not work, I was a young student and Dr. Ahmad chose a method that was less invasive and that cost less money. Clearly a better option for me at the time. A very honest dentist that cares about his patients even 2 years after treatment!

Went here for cleaning and x-rays. The receptionists were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. They made me aware that they could bill my insurance company directly, and then were patient while I found my information. As for the tooth cleaning, I can honestly say that I have never received BETTER service. My appointment started right on time and they were very gentle with the scrapper but still fast. I instantly booked an appointment six months from now and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist in the area.

I have been coming here for 4 years now. Lots of parking, wheelchair accessible, modern equipment with professional and personable staff. They always remember me and it feels nice to be part of a dental family. Reception offers direct billing and used modern tech to keep you up to date. They send emails and texts to remind you of your appointments. I love those reminders.. right up until an hour before.... I do get absent minded. For those who don't want as many reminders, reception can adjust your personal settings.

My experience at Scottsdale Dental was very positive. I've had some pretty bad experiences with dentists in the past, so I've put off a dental check-up for far too long. I bit the bullet and booked an appointment, as they offer sedation, if requested. The receptionist, hygienist, and doctor were all very kind and sensitive to my anxieties. Super gentle, and very supportive. The office was very clean and all staff members followed Covid protocols very professionally and responsibly. I've tried about 4 dentists in town since I've lived in Guelph, and this was the most positive experience by far. Highly recommended!

I choose Scottsdale Dental centre after recommendation of my orthodontist when I needed 3 teeth to be extracted. It is hard to believe, but that was the best dental visit in my life! I came to office in the morning, had a sedation and was watching TV (waiting for sedation effect). Basically, that is all that I remember from that day. I wake up next morning, with no pain at all, and a small residual effect after sedation completely disappeared after lunch. Since that time I visited Scottsdale Dental for a cleaning and cavity filling, and I am completely satisfied. Although the prices seems to be high: cleaning is 225 dollars (I am wearing braces), and just a regular dental check up without X-ray is 129 dollars. I guess there are cheaper Dentists services in Guelph, but I do not know whether they provide the same high quality dental treatments. Having such a very positive experience in Scottsdale Dental centre making me currently staying with this place.

By Far The BEST People to be on the, overwhelming, journey of a dental implant with. After moving to Cambridge I had heard some people speak of Dr Ahmad and his team so I made the trip to Guelph to his Dental Centre and I am so very glad that I did. Being the third person that I had spoken to about implant surgery (and after the second person I had convinced myself that I WAS NEVER GOING THROUGH THAT CRAZINESS) he eased my mind and connected me to Coronation Specialty Group (which I also had an AMAZING EXPERIENCE with) and just Thursday had my implant cemented in. Being that this was the front and centre tooth, and I work with children, 5 days a week, I was fearful that a 'fake' tooth would look unnatural, that I would have issues speaking or just generally have trouble going through my day to day activities. NONE of my fears came to pass and I was brought to tears on Thursday when the process was finally complete. Dr Ahmad and his ENTIRE TEAM from reception to assistance to the lab that created my crown are ALL 5 stars in my book. THANK YOU for giving me SUCH a GREAT Reason To SMILE :)

Let me preface this by mentioning that I am one of those who have extreme dental fear. Unfortunately I suffered from a crack tooth, the second that I've had. The first time under the care of another dentist, the tooth was removed and I had to got to a specialist for a dental implant. I was so impressed with Dr. Ahmad's skill in saving the tooth this time. Complications arose during the crown processes in which he had to do an emergency root canal. Other dentists would have refered me to a specialist at that point, but he proceeded with the root canal fast and efficient before the temp crown was in place. I enjoy his sense of humour which is a calming method that I greatly need when in the dental chair. His staff is competent, professional and very caring to my nervous needs.

Dec 2020 - adding to my review. Just had a crown finished. One of the things I love about Scottsdale Dental is their attention to MY time! Appointment was for 4:30, which is usually never a good thing at the doctor or dentist. It was scheduled for 20 minutes. I was in the chair at 4:32 and in the car at 4:50...Awesome. Dr. Ahmad is very gentle and except for the cold air - we got along just fine! Such a great dental office. Thanks. We've been going to Scottsdale Dental for over 25 years! The Dentist is not my favourite place to be, however the professional care and service I receive here, plus the laughs with Heather all make it the best experience possible. I'm confident my dental health is well taken care of. Thanks for the memories! May 2021 - in for a cleaning/polish. Heather is the absolute best dental hygienist. We have a weird and wonderful relationship that’s lasted over 30 years! Nancy has also been there forever….and it is always nice to see such friendly, wonderful, professional folk. I am somebody who struggles with needle anxiety and have avoided the dentist for years because of it. Dr. Ahmad is a genuinely nice guy who won't make you feel embarrassed about your phobias. The sedation used works very well, and by the time the procedure takes place Dr. Ahmad makes sure to confirm that you are relaxed and ready. I have to give 5 stars for their staff, punctuality, helpfulness, and knowledge, this was an overwhelmingly positive experience that I had put off for years due to anxiety. I am glad to have such a great dentist now.

Really lovely staff and Dr. Ahmad was friendly and personable overall. However, I would not recommend taking a sensitive child who needed a lot of dental work there. Dr. Ahmad effectively told my child (who has a strong fear of dentistry and a hair trigger gag reflex) to 'buck up' when my child was very distressed and uncomfortable during a tooth filling, and it was clear that Dr. Ahmad was exasperated with my child. Maybe we caught him on a bad day. I don't usually write google reviews, but they are the reason we went to Dr. Ahmad in the first place.

My husband had an abscess tooth and suffered all weekend. Our regular dentist referred him to a clinic that would not be able to do a root canal for 6-8 weeks! I called Scottsdale and they were able to see my husband immediately even though we were not patients. Dr Ahmad did the root canal and my husband said it was a pain free procedure and one of the best dental experiences he has ever had. She has always been friendly and personable, professional and efficient, and my dental health is in great hands. I was pleased recently to find that Dr. Ahmad's practice is responsive and environmentally aware. In a review on this site, along with my satisfaction with the professional service, I had also expressed my concerns about the environmental implications of the single-use bottled water provided in the waiting room. Dr Ahmad sent me a thoughtful reply. He filled me in on the many investments he had already made in the facility to reduce waste in water and energy, and stated his commitment to continuing to improve sustainability in the dental practice. He even shared his plans to replace the wasteful plastic bottles with a better system for drinking water. I appreciated the care he took to address my concerns, and it's great to know he takes patient feedback seriously. I know my review states 6 days ago, but I just got home from my second appointment at Scottsdale in which they removed my impacted wisdom tooth. I had gone in super nervous was I had not had a great experience getting my bottom two out previously in Hamilton. The first time I left Scottsdale dental years ago, I felt like I had an above average experience. The second visit months later, I was blown away by how my hygienist was able to clean around the painful spots using the notes she had made previously. I started loudly recommending Scottsdale at work the next day. I've been impressed by their professionalism more than once. Perhaps it's just my most excellent hygienist you say, but nope...both stand-ins for her maternity leave were great last year, and their deft handling of covid as a company speaks for itself. Anyhoo, long story short, I have found visiting Scottsdale for cleanings to be borderline delightful. Crazy to think that for most of my life I've dreaded the sharp tools and sporadic painful pokes...when professionals like this exist. I am lucky to have found them.

A visit to the dentist can be unnerving but you are made to feel at ease. From the moment you walk in, the ladies at the front desk are welcoming, the atmosphere is calming and the dental staff are second to none. My hygienist makes sure i am comfortable and explains each step of what she is doing. Had an interesting visit yesterday at one point I had three dental professionals in the cubicle sharing voices and yours truly said "if you add three more then we'll have a choir". First time l had my blood pressure taken in a dental office and it came in on the high side of my own recordings, and royal we said " white coat effect and if you measure it again it will go even higher and guess what, it did!" I found this place very unprofessional. First time I booked an appointment I scheduled both cleaning and exam. I got the cleaning, but I had to reschedule as the doctor was busy. So that's a weeks wait. For my next exam appointment I got a call 30 minutes before my appointment to come in 30 min later because previous patient is running late. 10 minutes later I got another call to not come in at all as the patient is taking too long and the doctor had to leave at 1. If I called to cancel 30 min before my appointment I'd be charged 50 dollars cancellation fee. But if the doctor is busy the patient can get screwed over. I do not recommend this place unless you want to get rescheduled and canceled many times and not see dentist at all. EDIT: I must add that after my review I received a call from the owner to discuss the situation. She was very pleasant and was very sorry about my experience. I am happy to know that my review was read and made a difference. I think I will give them another try!

First of all I would like to say that my experiences with Scottsdale Dental Centre have been excellent. That begins even before I get to sit down in the chair to have my teeth worked on. Reminders and confirmations about appointments are a great feature that I like for sure. Secondly the positive vibe given by reception team is very professional and welcoming. And last but not least my recent visit saw me in the very capable hands of Heather who walked me through the xray procedure then spent a long time scaling and cleaning my teeth. Heather has a great steady hand and I immediately felt comfortable and confident in her skilled techniques. She also has a very calming demeanor which lowers stress levels for patients and that is a very key trait to have in Dentistry for sure. Heather was also non-judgmental about the condition of my teeth. A long time ago at a different Dentist office I was berated for the entire time in the chair by the Hygienist. I was not impressed that my 5 year old was not referred to a specialist until after he couldn’t handle getting a cavity filled. Not only was it a bad experience for him, but we had to pay for it and now we have to finish getting the tooth filled at a later date by a specialist. This will now be more money and time spent. The referral to the specialist should have occurred to begin with. I know the dentist and assistant did the best they could, but if they’re not comfortable working on younger kids then that should have been known before the appointment. The constant emailing, phone call and text message reminders about appointments are a little much as well.

Don’ t cut corners and ensure teeth cleaning and X-rays are always professionally done. Dentists always take the time to review treatment options or discuss any concerns. On my original call for the appointment I mentioned I had a concern about a swollen gum (upper Left side) that was aching and I wanted it checked out. At my appointment the hygienist did a quick assessment and proceeded to do a cleaning of my right side. There was a slight miscommunication concerning the issue. I was then told they were only doing the right side cleaning and a second appointment would be made to do the left side and then another to see the dentist for the gum issue. I will now be charged for another visit to finish the cleaning and to have the exam. I later found out that it was because I had been away for over a year due to Covid-19 so it took longer for the cleaning. I am a senior on a fixed income and this added expense was a surprise. A later discussion with the Dr cleared up any misunderstanding that we both had. The second appointment went well and there was a price adjustment made. Amended 4/15/21

I was pleased at the personal treatment that I received and learned what future treatment I could receive, such as extraction and implants that I will probably require in the future. A well set up facility. Extra precaution has been set up for health & safety. All staff have a good background for any questions you have about your teeth. Staff are cheery. Only drawback, like all dental centres is the cost. Ohip needs to cover at least 1/2 of the cost so everyone can have heathy teeth. Comparatively they do an excellent caring of your teeth.

Dr Ahmed is fantastic. He has a great sense of humour and does a great job. He explains procedures ahead of time and again while he is working.
