From the first email I sent to entering the door the reception has been quick, friendly and professional. 10/10 on covid health precautions and limiting crossover of patients at appts, if you have anxiety about the dentist or just generally you'll be put at ease by the great staff here and the privacy of closed exam rooms. My daughter and I had our hygentist appt with Fay (sp?sorry!)and she was absolutely fantastic. I'm actually looking forward to my next cleaning appt. Dr.Omar was wonderful too! He made sure I was comfortable from the beginning, explained what he was doing and, he even asked about an issue I didn't bring up because it had been brushed off at a previous dentist and now it will finally be managed. Great staff! Super friendly, very informative. I am a new patient and from the first phone call i made to them - up until i left the office - i was made to feel entirely comfortable. I was left with no questions or concerns.. just amazing service and a very thorough understanding of my own teeth. I also want to note the diversity at this office! It was comforting to walk in and immediately see different genders and races. All 3 staff members that assisted me were all so friendly, and each took the time to personally introduce themselves. I mean this all SO honestly. I know reviews can seem scripted but i promise yall, so far SOOO good. Dr.Omar was very friendly and professional. He made himself clear, and advised where he could without enforcing any sort of scary authority as some medical professionals do. I felt very comfortable asking him my “stupid” questions. The COVID measures appeared to be extremely thorough and properly respected.. also the entire office was VERY clean and I saw only one other patient in the hour i was there (so they do well keeping us distanced). I cant think of anything less-than-great to say, honestly. Will be going here until i cant! 10/10 would and will recommend!! :):):):)

guelph family dentistry is a really good place to get your teeth looked at!! the hygienist i saw was lovely and walked me though each manoeuvre step by step so i felt reassured, and she constantly checked in about sensitivity which really helped! they have ipads in each room to watch to keep you entertained and mentally distracted which was a great touch! staff is really friendly and the facilities are really clean! the steps taken for covid are very reassuring! as someone who was worried about going back to the dentist after a hiatus, i totally recommend them! you have nothing to worry about! :)

Excellent experience very professional very detailed. They show me on the screen everything they are doing with precision. I also get to watch my favorite Netflix show while the work is done. Or I can stare at my reflection and see what they're doing in the iPad LOL. They allowed me to do direct billing through my insurance and was able to fit me in many appointments back to back to get my insurance used up before the new year, which helps both of us. Overall highly recommended. Oh and I got not one but two free toothbrushes and not one but two things of dental floss.

I went to Guelph Family Dentistry based on all the good reviews on Google; however, I was not happy with the service I received. The office appeared clean and professional, My cleaning went fine and my appointment with Dr. Omar Al-Azzawi was very thorough. I was told I had 2 cavities in my premolars and numerous cavities on the top surfaces of my teeth. I can't remember the number exactly, but somewhere around 8 cavities total. I left there feeling quite disappointed that my teeth had deteriorated so quickly. I had been to my former dentist in Toronto six months ago and he had said everything was looking good. In all my adult life I have had only two cavities total. After talking it over with my wife I decided to seek a second opinion. I saw a second dentist 3 days after seeing Dr. Omar Al-Azzawi. He reviewed the x-rays and examined my teeth and told me I did not need ANY fillings. He told me there where two areas that we should watch but nothing that needed attention at the moment. He also told me the top surfaces of my teeth where fine. I had to pay out of pocket for the second opinion but feel it was worth it to avoid some costly and unnecessary dental procedures.

From beginning to end, the process of getting to the office and into the chair is streamlined. Extremely modern facilities that are clean and well kept. As for staff, the receptionists were very friendly and clear with their questions and instructions. Ok so I DON'T LIKE going to the dentist. I've had bad experiences before, as has most people I think.. but everyone here is super gentle and respectful ( no comments on how bad your teeth are) when I got there I hadn't been to the dentist in 5 years so it was pretty bad but everyone was respectful and understanding. I had a root canal and i didn't feel a thing. They help you to know what your insurance covers and what it doesn't. Everyone is friendly and great atmosphere all around. DR. Omar is very gentle and understanding if you feel pain he will immediately stop.

Going to the dentist is something that makes me very anxious and I dread the needles especially. Guelph family dentistry has been so understanding and they go above and beyond to make me comfortable and relaxed. They also provide a small discount to those without insurance which has really helped. My dentist recently retired. Now it was time to find a new dentist. Wasn’t really sure how to go about that. About a month ago I was in the Speedvale plaza and noticed Guelph Family Dentistry and oddly I had a very good feeling but I wasn’t sure why. I had broken a tooth and did not have a dentist. I went in and was met by two wonderful women. They asked me some questions and made me an emergency appointment for the next day! I was so grateful. These two women were so professional kind and caring and very thorough. The next day I arrived for my appointment and was greeted once again by these two lovely ladies. This time I was given a tour and this office was state of the art and so clean you would think you could eat of the floor. I was lead into the examination room by another lovely professional woman that set everything up so Dr. Omar could examine me. The two of them worked so well together and I was so impressed by their professional mannerism. Unfortunately my tooth was not salvageable but they were both very concerned with my comfort level the whole time. They made me feel I was their only patient. Dr. Omar explained to me step by step my options and was very very patient going over everything with me and wanted me to fully understand these options. I was also very fortunate to meet another absolutely wonderful woman named Jessica that day. She as well was really only concerned with my comfort level and that I understood my options. I really feel blessed to have met her because she talked with me and made sure I was ok. I felt comfortable which isn’t to often. She took her time and was so patient with me to make sure I was. I really have not found at least in my life, people like that. I have some personal problems that make it very difficult to leave the house, let alone enter an unfamiliar business. These people were so kind caring and helpful that it made this experience much easier for me. They really, really care. They even phoned and texted me to check up on me. Honestly everyone there that I have met so far have been absolutely wonderful professional and caring and I couldn’t be happier that I was able to walk into Guelph Family Dentistry that day!

We were also on the hunt for a dentist to replace our previous dentist who was retiring after 50+ years. He was a hard act to follow but we're really happy with Dr. Omar and his team. For the first 30ish of my dental years I went to the same dentist in Toronto. He was an excellent dentist, has mentored many others, always had a little catch-up chat, and always took great care of my teeth. So when we moved to Guelph last year, that meant the bar for a new dentist was going to be pretty high. I'm thrilled to share that Dr. Omar and the team have easily met and even exceeded that bar! Unfortunately, I was not the best at taking care of my own teeth until the arrival of my daughter's teeth meant leading by example, and the pandemic further delayed my return to a dentist until a couple of months ago. The COVID protocols they've instituted are sensible and effective: automated text message check-in with a quick phone call screening; isolated and air-purified patient rooms; hand radios to ensure a clear hallway & foyer for patient traffic - all just smart and easy. To make up for my poor self-care, I've since had an initial introduction & exam, 2 cleaning sessions, 7 fillings, and am now awaiting the delivery of a permanent crown after today's session getting a temporary one. Every single visit, without fail, I have: - been greeted with genuine pleasure at the front desk - been kept informed of what was being done and why - had all of my questions answered with competence, respect, and empathy - seen in real time on a big screen all of the data & images that the team captured about me, including a summary view of work done previously and what's happening in the current visit - had no soreness whatsoever the next day onwards from any procedure - felt complete confidence while in the chair, whether for cleaning with Courtney or dental work with Dr. Omar - received care with exceptional focus & professionalism You can feel that the entire office is working together with one purpose in mind - their patients. I found Guelph Family Dentistry on google. I haven’t had dental coverage for many years so I would only visit a dentist if I really needed to. This time, I had to. Well, I’m glad I came here. The staff are beyond friendly. When I discussed with Dr. Omar about the pain I was having, I was very certain it was my dental bridge at the bottom. Dr.Omar would try to find the best and most cost effective solution first knowing I didn’t have any coverage. I knew it would have cost a lot to replace my dental bridge. My top tooth was also causing pain but I ignored it for the time being bec I was really sure it was the dental bridge I was having problems with. He kept telling me he doesn’t see any issue with my dental bridge. But I insisted so I made an appt to have it removed to see if there’s any issue there causing pain. The day of the procedure, Dr Omar assessed both top tooth and my dental bridge at the bottom again one more time to make sure I’m making the right decision. He made a great call on dealing with the top tooth and said that it was the one that’s probably causing the overall pain I was having. That alone I give him respect. I’m glad I dealt with that one tooth. He was right. From now on, I’ll be coming here for any dental needs and I highly recommend it.

I am a new patient at Guelph family dentistry and hadn’t been to the dentist in some time. I needed 9 filling and 4 teeth removed, so far I’ve done 5 of the fillings, cleaning and whitening. The place is very clean and staff are nice and professional, always willing to help and make you feel more comfortable examples would be offering water and Coffee and playing your favourite music while you have your treatment done. THE ONLY CON: the oral sedation didn’t work well at all on me, I regularly take medications stronger than the sedative they use and thus it didn’t work so great. SO if you regularly take anxiety medication which works just use that instead because the sedative given to me barely did anything for my anxiety and I still ended up in tears and panicking. Although the staff handled it well and were able to calm me I still would have preferred my own medication. Otherwise I’ve had very plaesent visits.

They’re very careful with the COVID-19 procedure, which makes you feel safer when coming here. All the staffs are very friendly. I like their hygienist, she’s very gentle. I had a very bad cavity and I was very worried about my tooth, Dr. Omar and his team took me in immediately and fixed it for me right there and then.I have never had an emergency dental procedure done and I haven’t been to the dentist in a few years. I might not have been the best patient because I am very nervous having dental work done but they were very patient and kind. I have booked another appt with them for cleaning and more work done.
