For a bit of backstory I haven't seen a dentist in seven years. I've had very bad dental hygiene for a long while, and I neglected going to the dentist for a long time because of it, mostly of fear that I'd be scolded like a child. I went in today and none of that happened. The woman who did my exam was super friendly, gave me a good 'starting guide' on how to better care for my teeth, and made sure that I understood everything that was going on and what we were going to do about the current issues with my teeth. Probably the best dental experience I've ever had in my life. It's a place I'm definitely going to do my regular checkups from here on out. Thank you for helping me! - Carolanne Watling

Firstly, I do agree with a lot of the comments and ratings that I see others have given in regards to 90% of the staff at The Fredericton Dental Centre. All of the dental assistants and receptionists are wonderful and very accommodating. However, Dr Violette seriously lacks empathy and any bedside manner. I myself have had personal experiences with him but recently my daughter had her wisdom teeth out and was feeling a significant amount of pain during the procedure, so in turn, she started having a panic attack mid procedure. Dr Violette proceeded to tell her that she was overreacting and grabbed her and told her to cam down. Incredibly unprofessional in my opinion! I will not be back to the Fredericton Dental Centre for this reason and I will make sure to pass on to those I know the negative experience that he personally provided for my daughter. She is traumatized for this. I understand this is a busy practice and he is on a tight schedule but it is discouraging and frustrating to see someone in this field that lacks the patience and understanding to deal with his patients with compassion. I have been under treatment for about two years at this clinic (Dr. Nitesh Patel) and fixed four teeth including one root canal. He performed all treatments well and professionally. He always offers cost-effective solutions. In addition, all clinic staffs are so nice and kind. They patiently explain what I need to know about the procedures. The clinic is so clean and well organized as well. I am comfortable with them and highly recommend this clinic to others.

My permanent retainer got detached, something that needs to be fixed quickly. I called everywhere on the Fredericton area, nobody was able to see me quick enough or even picked up the phone. After I called here they gave me an appointment for the very next day, staff was super nice and friendly and actually cared about my situation. They saw me quickly and I was out in like 15 minutes, I wouldn't go anywhere else

They are either incompetent or crooks. Made us go get a 2nd opinion and had to pay ourselves for the 2nd dentist opinion. So it's not good enough that they make good money out of poor peoples back , but they make sure to force the people to go give that money to their friend dentists as well. I was thinking about switching to them because my girlfriend was with them , but after the stunt they just pulled on us , i will avoid this place!

I had a horrible experience with Dr Patel fiddling with my wisdom tooth for 45 mins. Finally after I resisted he agreed that he can't do it and I need to see a specialist. It was Friday afternoon and he asked me to come back on Monday even though I was bleeding. When I resisted, I was finally sent to Dr Anthony Poon and he removed the tooth in less than 5 mins. It's more than two years now and my teeth still feel the sensitivity due to him fiddling for 45 mins.

What an amazing experience. It can sometimes be stressful bringing small children into the dentist and with their team they made it an incredible experience! The staff is extremely friendly and very professional. They even were interacted with the children showing them what everything is and how it works. Extremely patient and I heard laughs and giggles! Very clean and very warm welcome as new patients! The front staff was very helpful and scheduling was no issue and they were very accommodating! I actually look forward to more visits with Dr. Therien and the whole Fredericton dental team! Top notch!

Lori Walsh restored my faith in what used to be something that seemed unimportant to me. As a new patient I was walked through every step on what was to be done and what needed to be done. There was a level of care being done there that is too often missed by many Dentists. It was the small things that were done that mattered the most! I first came to Fredericton Dental as an emergency. I had a terrible tooth ache and a swollen face.My dentist's office was closed. I called Fredericton Dental and was seen right away by Dr Patel. He was very kind. XRays were taken and I had to have crown put on my tooth, after the infection cleared.I felt the care I received there surpassed my regular dentist's care so I had all my records transferred. I have not regretted it. My most recent visit involves a crown to another tooth. Dr Patel and his technician are very kind. My tooth will be finished in two weeks. Also, all the protocols for Covid are closely followed so I felt safe. I would highly recommend Fredericton Dental Centre to anyone!!!!!

so disappointed with the competency level of doctors as well as dental assistants especially ones who work with the young lady dentist out there .A very terrible treatment by that dentist and her assistant(don't want to mention the name here as i still have some ethics left which you can not see). These ladies were kinda shoeing the patients away . Can you imagine even the assistant asked me to swallow my saliva as she said suction is not mandatory. Also uttering rude comments and badmouthing my son who was there for treatment. The senior management should pay attention to incompetency and non friendly nature of the particular staff and try to inculcate manners and do not let these ladies to ruin the repute of the clinic.

Bad experience. I was with them for 8 years. I have been happy with them because of their good impression they gave to me and to my family as new clients, but with time we all got very disappointed. They have been making me wait 1 hour for my appointment more than once and one time I got late for 15 minutes so they said that I can't make it to my appointment and charged me $60 for not being able to make it!! They have been trying to persuade me with good arguments to take off my wisdom teeth when I didn't need it. I told them to stop bothering me about it and that I do not want to take them off and if there is anything I will let them know but they kept bothering me non stop about it for years and even tried to force me to do so. Other dentist told me that my wisdom teeth are totally fine and till now I have no problem with my them at all. My family are with them and they also had their own bad experiences. So we are not going to this clinic anymore. I have made a conclusion that they only want your money. I advise you please to seek better care elsewhere!!

Dr. Emily Therien and her team of hygienist have hands down made my experience going to the dentist much more pleasant and less stress full. Not to many people like going to the dentist and for me in the past my stress and anxiety level sky rockets knowing I have to go to the dentist. From the moment you walk in the doors with the cleanliness alone with a bright white smile from the receptionist greeting you is the start of the your experience. In the waiting room there was a beautiful fire place with a tv and free Wi-Fi,. .with....FREE wifi right! Cause we all know we need our phones. Also books and toys for my children were available in the play area. Once your called in the staff explain everything to you and reassures you throughout the process. When the Dr arrives she introduces herself and explains what she will be doing and answers any questions you may have before working. While she is working on your teeth you have the opportunity to watch tv which is Mounted on the ceiling. Once finished the Dr takes the time to ask you how it was and explains how it went. They do direct billing to most insurance company's which is very convenient, leaving you to pay the balance of the percentage not covered............I would recommend Dr Therien and the Fredericton Dental Center anyday to anyone. Thank you all for the professionalism and friendly atmosphere.....never thought I'd say I enjoyed the dentist.

I am happy with the fillings I have installed and the cleaning appointments I had in the clinic. The fillings behaved exactly how my doctor described it to me. My doctor and hygienist are very good professionals: the procedures are fast, while simultaneously they were always checking in with how I feel, is anything uncomfortable etc. The dosage of the anesthesia I have received was very on point: the unpleasant sensation was minimal, if any. I also liked the way they tested if the anesthesia applied properly. My doctor gave very concrete diagnosis for my problems and outlined their seriousness, while also indicating that some of the procedures they would recommend are quality of life improvements and will help me in long term. Throughout the procedures I was informed about everything that will happen, so I did not have to expect the unexpected. The doctor was also ready to answer any questions I had. With UNB grad student insurance (that applies automatically), the prices are affordable for the problems I had. I have a couple of words to say about the front desk workers: they were always ready to help with my copies of the bills, statements etc, perfectly accounted with my preferences when and how they could contact me. The COVID screening and protocol the clinic adopted also made me feel safe to be there.

I had a dental emergency. Split my tooth in half while eating lunch. I called my dentist and they weren’t able to put me through to the one person in charge of scheduling. While I was waiting for a call back I was recommended here. I called, someone who I later found out didn’t normally do the scheduling, booked me in for 2:30. It was already 2 pm. I arrived, didn’t even have to wait. The assistant sat me down, asked me a few questions and advised of next steps with the dentist. The dentist came in, evaluated the broken tooth, did some freezing and pulled out the broken piece. He also gave me a temporary filling and advised of how he found repair permanently and told me to come back if I had any pain or discomfort. My experience was by far the best I’ve ever had. Not to mention with the exact same insurance plan paid less and had more work done than my last visit. I’m happy to say I will be switching dentists as well as my husband!

I went to see Dr. Violette for the first time today as he was recommended to me by a friend who has been seeing him for over 35 years. Now, I know why!!! My daughter had an abscess on one of her tooth (she was on antibiotics from another doctor) and when the receptionist Amy found out, she put forth the utmost effort and proceeded to schedule an emergency appointment for the same day. And since I was a new patient, she carefully explained to me upfront the cost of the consultation fees. We waited for only a few minutes before we were ushered into one of the patient rooms, and after only a few minutes, Dr. Violette came. He examined her infected tooth, and took the time to patiently clarify what may have happened and explained what steps needed to be taken to ensure that she gets no more cavities during her lifetime! Dr. Violette really listened to any concerns I had, very unlike any other dentists I had seen before. He then left by saying that I could call if I noticed any other swelling or if any other issue arise and they would accommodate me as fast as they could. Furthermore, when I asked if I could be shown how to properly brush teeth (just in case), he said it was no problem and asked his wonderful dental hygenist, Dacia, to help me. All in all, I was very pleased with my first experience with Dr. Violette and I wouldn't hesitate recommending others too. He truly cares.

I like the service, but they perform additional services without telling you there will be an extra cost. It's always above what insurance covers. I have owed 25.00 for a fluoride treatment on my child that I never asked for and they never consulted with me before doing it. I am against the use of fluoride treatments and it was just wrong. I get constant calls about owing them and I have told them I refuse to pay for a service that I did not okay.

Dr. Violette was a very friendly and personable dentist. The quality of service I have received in his practice has been steadily declining since I started going there 10 years ago. There is no longer any feeling of friendliness nor appreciation of you as a client. It feels like you've entered a factory floor, where the only goal is to quickly finish the job (and Bill you) then get the next person in. I've had to go in several times to remedy mistakes or deal with complications that arose from treatment. It was even admitted to me that if the doctor had spent more time on the first treatment, there would have been no need for a second and third (which I had to pay for). Frustrating and disheartening for a long time client. Best quote from Dr. Violette "your pain isn't my problem" I strongly encourage everyone to seek better care elsewhere!
