Let me just start by saying I have a huge dental phobia, My anxiety levels when even thinking of going to the dentist go through the roof. A few months ago I had cracked a tooth, and instead of going to the dentist when it first happened I kept putting it off until Sunday March 26, the tooth cracked more and I ended up needing to go to the Emergency Room. We called Dr. Shah around 830-9pm that Sunday night, he advised us what to do to help the current situation. The following Tuesday I visited him for my first visit, he came in asking how I was and how the hospital visit went. Then he informed me of what was going on, and reviewed my x-rays with me, and set an appointment for Tuesday April 3rd. During that appointment we decided to extract the tooth, I wont go into detail but I have to say Dr. Shah, helped take away my anxiety. He did an amazing job asking me how I was feeling, and making sure I was comfortable. During the procedure he was just casually talking to his assistant, which kept me calm. All of the staff, from the front counter to the hygienists are all very nice, Needless to say I have found my new dentist. I look forward to my next visit with Dr. Shah! Thank you for everything Dr. Shah and the Applebay Dental Staff!

Being an international student, i wasn't too sure which dental to choose someone recommended me Dr.Shah so i booked and appointment with them for cleaning. They absolutely did an amazing job and only charged me $129 . I was very satisfied by the service no long waits and the staff is very friendly. Took my children in for cleanings. Sat with both of them thru the "cleaning" which consisted of the cleaning plaque with a pick for 5 minutes, doing x-rays, and a fluoride coating and being told my children had over 4 cavities each, my insurance was charged for full cleanings (which did not happen, I have never had a cleaning without the teeth being cleaned, polished and flossed) and the x-rays and my wallet still took a hit. Took my kids to a new dentist this time around and low and behold no cavities and both got proper cleanings. Not sure if this is normal practice for this clinic but it was just awful.

I never got a scaling/cleaning done in my country because I was always scared to go to a dentist. But when I talked to Applebay dental over the call regarding my tooth ache, they made me feel comfortable and I gained the confidence to visit a dentist. My first ever vist there was so relaxing and easy. I got my tooth fixed by Dr. Shah. He is very polite and humble with his patients. He is so good in his work that I did not even realized that when did the treatment finish. Afterwards I also got the scaling done for the first time in my life and my teeth looks and feels so good now. The front staff is also very energetic and polite. They made me comfortable before my appointment. I am ready and excited for my next cleaning there.

I had not visited a dentist for years. I was really scared. My friend told me to come here when I had a tooth ache. Everyone at Applebay Dental made me feel really comfortable. Staff help me with my anxiety through my filling. Dr. Shah is great. He kept me calm during the filling. He really cares and is considerate. The next day I got a call from the receptionist to see how I was doing. When I came for my cleaning with Chelsea – she was so gentle and my teeth looked amazing after. I don’t know why I had delayed for so long. She showed me ways to look after my teeth that no one has showed me. I felt so happy and left with a lot of confidence about my smile. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I finally found a great dentist. I am just sad that I have to move. I will miss them. :)

Had a dental emergency on the drive from the city to Niagara. My permanent retainer came off and the team at Applebay really came to the rescue! We called them on the road, booked an appointment an hour in advance and we were back on the road in no time. They clipped my retainer and made sure it was safe and didn’t irritate my gums, until my dentist back in the city could take care of it. Friendly, efficient and highly recommended dental team!

So great in an emergency situation for out-of-towners! When my daughter broke her front teeth in a hotel swimming pool this dental office stayed open a little longer so she could be seen immediately. They were so kind, patient and knowledgeable and they dealt with the situation so well. They immediately sent us the info we needed to continue the repair with her regular denist. And we were back at the hotel with our house hockey team and partying again in no time. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I came here for a check up for my sensitive tooth. They took an x-ray. I paid $ 129 for the 15-minute check-up. I was prescribed antibiotics, but I also asked for medication with diclofenac for my toothache. I had this type of toothache before and this worked to reduce the pain. My pain was horrible and I didn’t have any medication left. The doctor just smiled and claimed that he couldn’t give me anything that “strong”. He suggested that I buy something from the pharmacy. He was reluctant to prescribe me it and I didn’t know why. I felt like that was a little ridiculous. After 5 days of pain, I saw that the antibiotics weren’t working. I called the doctor back and they just told me to take 2 pills at once, not just 1. Soon I was out of pills and still left with pain. I called them back again and was prescribed a new penicillin-type medication. It helped a little but it wasn’t strong enough. I called them a third time after 10 days of taking pills and told them the problem. The assistant answered and said she would talk to the dentist and call back in 20 minutes. I waited 3 hours. I called them back but they were too busy to help. They finally called back several hours later and said to go to Emergency because they were unable to prescribe stronger antibiotics. They didn’t explain why and it didn’t make sense to me. I felt like I was getting the runaround or they didn’t know what they were doing. The dentist gave me the same medicine twice even after I told him it didn’t work the first time. As for the pain medication, they treated me like I was a drug addict because I required a stronger medication. I went to the walk-in clinic instead and told the story. The doctor saw immediately that the medicine they prescribed was totally wrong, and she isn’t even a dentist. She gave me the proper antibiotics and I felt relief after just 1 day. This was my worst experience at a dentist ever. I won’t return here.Not recommended.

I wanted to save my tooth. Finally i could fix it at apple bay dental. hands down the best dentist i have ever seen , over 9 days ago i had a tooth extraction and root tip done by another dentist and day after day i went and saw this dentist and complained of pain , swelling , smell , ear ache and told him the pain was getting worse but everyday he looked at me he told me this was normal so over 9 days of pain i went to Applebay for a second opinion and i was right something was wrong i have a dry socket so Dr Shah took me right in and fixed my issue within minutes if it wasn't for this man I'm not sure what i would have done . HUGE thank you to the staff and the dentist for taking me in right away and helping me fix this issue that someone else created.

I've gone threw a few dentists in my life. I became a patient of Applebay dental about 7 years ago and I can't praise them enough Dr. Shah is an absolutely amazing dentist. First appointment... sat and waited for 45 minutes before i was even acknowledged. While the girls at front desk played on their cell phones. Went in for a broken tooth... by visit 3 the tooth STILL wasn't fixed. Very... very unorganized office. Nice enough... but very unprofessional. Will never... never return.

Moving from Mississauga to Niagara Falls meant, among other things, finding a new dentist. So to go about it, I sat at the computer and read review after review of the countless possibilities! I came across Applebay Family Dental and their reviews were fantastic. As soon as I read Dr Shah's biography, the decision was easy and we've been thankful patients ever since! Dr Shah and his staff are incredible. The relationship goes beyond that of Dr/Hygienist/Patient...they are truly passionate about their work and ONLY look out for your best interest! We all hate the cost of going to the dentist, but I guarantee you, Dr Shah is straight up with no gimmicks....definitely NOT trying to make a quick buck at a patient's expense. "We Cater to Cowards"! When I saw the sign, I knew I needed to call. It had been over 15 years since I had seen a dentist except for emergency care. My fear had kept me away. Due to age and wear and tear, several of my teeth had broken, some being in the front. I had always had an extreme fear but decided to give this dental office a call. From the minute I met Dr. Shah, I knew that this experience was going to be different. He took the time to explain my dental coverage to me and together we discussed and agreed on a treatment plan. I was apprehensive when I first sat in the chair but Dr. Shah talked me through everything and kept me calm and comfortable. He understood my fear. I have some remaining work to be done and I feel that with each visit, I will become much less anxious with the help of Dr. Shah. I cannot say how grateful i am to Applebay Family Dental. I called around allll weekend for emergency help, my own dentist wouldn't take me. Applebay were thee only ones who called me back and told me to come in immediately even though im not a patient. Every single person that works there are SO nice, I've never been treated so great and so much respect, the Dr was actually pretty upset i was left in this conditon and noo one helped me. I looked at him and just cried and said "you were the only one that called me back and helped me.. The only one". He said he'd take care of it and I'd be okay. My stress over this has gone down dramatically and the day after seeing him a little of the swelling already went down. I cannot thank them enough for everything they're doing for me and are still doing for me. Thank you so much Applebay!!

If I could give negative stars I would, I have no idea about how adept the dentists are because I never got the chance to be let into the office for my appointment. I made an appointment for my 3 year old a week and a half in advance. I gave my contact information as well as my sons name and birthdate. *I* called 3 days before the appointment to confirm because we have been quarantining 3 hours away and did not want to make the drive if there was an issue. All was fine. Show up 20 minutes early for our appointment (as I was advised) only to be told they were unable to contact me to go through COVID screening questions the day before. I asked what phone number they called as I had no missed calls on my phone and its a phone number with a completely different area code than me. Nothing more than a sorry would you like to rebook, no effort made to accommodate as we have gone significantly out of our way for this appointment. Beyond frustrating that as a client you go above and beyond to ensure your appointment is confirmed only to get turned away at the door because THEY called the WRONG number.

I woke up in the middle of the night with unimaginable pain from the one wisdom tooth I had grow out. Left messages with a few local dentists and the next morning, before the office even opened, Dr. Shah said that I could see him first thing! I was so grateful and the service only got better from there. Dr. Shah and each member of his staff that I interacted with were so personable and professional. They talked me through everything and made me feel so comfortable. You can even watch TV during your appointment! The wisdom tooth removal could not have gone better and I am so grateful for their prompt and superb service. Thank you!

I am sooooo afraid of dentists and on top of that i dont like keeping my mouth open for to long since it hurts, also i have back problems and just the thought of sitting uncomfortably on a chair, with my mouth open while a doctor puts needles and drills inside my mouth!!!!! (panic attack and anxiety at the maximum level). BUTTTTTTTT!!!!!!! my husband convinced me to make an appointment and he promised hold my hand during the procedure. I was socked to what it happen before, during and after my appointment. I GOT IN THE OFFICE AND THE GIRLS WERE VERY WELCOMING AND RELAX. THEY EMPATHIZED WITH ME AND MY FEAR. PLUS THE PLACE IS CLEAN, SMELLS GOOD AND IT FEELS SAFE. ONCE I GOT IN THE CHAIR AND I EXPLAIN MY BACK PROBLEMS THEY OFFERED ME A BLANKET TO ROLL UP AND PUT UNDER MY NECK, AND DURING THE APPOINTMENT I WAS GIVEN TIME TO RE ARRANGE IT AND TO CHANGE POSITIONS, AS A RESULT..... NO BACK PAIN DURING MY APPOINTMENT THE DOCTOR....... PFFFFFF FABULOUS!!!! HE IS SO FRIENDLY, HE DOESNT CHARGE YOU BY THE HOUR, NEITHER RUSHES YOU OR RUSHES TO GET THE JOB DONE. HE TAKES HIS SWEET TIME TO TALK TO YOU, TO EXPLAIN TO YOU AND TO UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL. THE NEEDLE !!!! I DIDNT FEEL IT, HE TOLD ME I AM GOING TO TOUCH THE INSIDE OF YOUR MOUTH AND THEN WITHOUT ME EVEN SEEN THE NEEDLE IT WAS DONE, NO PAIN NO NOTHING (AND I AM A VERY SENSITIVE PERSON) HE DID THE JOB AND DURING THE PROCESS HE SHOWED ME HOW DIRTY MY MOLAR WAS AND AFTER HE SHOWED ME AFTER HE CLEANED IT, AND AT THE END HE SHOWED ME THE FINAL RESULT. IT WAS NICE TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE AND TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND BETTER HOW THE JOB IS DONE. AFTER THE APPOINTMENT THE DOCTOR DIDNT RUSH OUT, NOPE HE SAT AND CHATTED, WE JOKED AND HE MADE ME FEEL LIKE EVERY THING IS GOING TO BE OK (FOR MY NEXT APPOINTMENT) ALSO DURING THE PROCEDURE HE ALLOWED ME TO HAVE REST PERIODS, SO MY MOUTH DIDNT HURT BECAUSE I KEPT IT OPEN FOR TOO LONG, NEITHER I FELT ANXIOUS OVER HIM HURTING ME. MY SON HAD HIS APPOINTMENT TOO AND HE LOVED IT, HE DOESNT HAVE CAVITIES, HE GOT CLEANING AND A CHECK UP, THE STAFF WAS AMAZING WITH US. THE PRICES ARE GOOD, THE SERVICE IS AMAZING, AND THE OFFICE IS CLEAN. NOW I HAVE A SECOND APPOINTMENT AND I AM NOT EVEN SCARE, I AM ACTUALLY EXCITED TO GET THE JOB DONE. THANK YOU DOC...!!!!!!

I found myself in a desperate situation on a Saturday morning....called and luckily was seen by Dr Shaw....been thru heck and back before this ...and was very fortunate to have found an incredibly knowledgeable...caring clinic finally...any Dentist I've had to see there has been extremely thoughtful regarding my fears. Always thorough communication and they have helped me with many issues I was previously told couldnt be fixed without aggressive measures ...driving well over an hour each time from home is never a concern for us. Going to the dentist even as a grown woman was fearful for me.. not once have I had concern to revisit.. Now my family goes there and wont go elsewhere.

Dr. Shah is hands down the “BEST” dentist in the niagara region! He is so caring, humble, honest and down to earth. He will never treat anyone poorly. I feel truly blessed to have found him for myself and my children. It took me many years to find a dentist I could trust and feel comfortable with, he is not there for your money. Dr. Shah and his assistants will always make you feel like family and will never make you feel embarrassed or ashamed about yourself or the state of your teeth. Dr. Shah is an awesome dentist! When my previous dentist cut corners, I ended up with a lot of unnecessary pain and suffering and a medical situation made worse. I found myself in need of emergency dental treatment and still dealing with a tricky medical situation.
