Royal York Dental is conveniently located few steps from Royal York Station. I went for an initial assessment for preemptive care. The office is pristine clean, and they have all the sanitary protocols in place for patients' safety. I first met Gavin who asked some exploratory questions and did a 3D Imaging scan of my teeth (Awesome Technology!) to diagnose if I was a good candidate for the procedure I inquired about. Then I met Nam, who is very professional and knowledgeable. Thanks to her, I discovered the real state of my teeth and the best options of procedures to address problematic areas now or in the future, including treatment with Invisalign, using a computerized simulation of the final results based on the previous 3D scan of my teeth. Finally, she also gave me some good recommendations for on going oral care at home. Overall a fantastic service!

Horrible First Impression. I'm sure this is a nice dental office however, as a potential new client they have horrible telephone manners. I called during the week and spoke with Elizabeth who said she would call me back right away as she was on the other line. 6 days later I'm still waiting for her to call me back. I even called back later that day with my contact information and they still never returned my call. Though if this the type of customer service typical at this practice I'm glad im not a client. Happy to take my business elsewhere

This includes the dental services I've experienced in both Montreal and Calgary over the years. Always professional and courteous service with customer satisfaction at the top of their list. I am a 20 something year old who grew up hating going to the dentist. I (very) recently had to get my wisdom teeth removed, after almost 7 years of not seeing a dentist. I went to Royal York Dental worrying that I would be judged for waiting so long, but instead I was delightfully surprised. I was welcomed with MANY smiling faces at their front desk who quickly brought me in for my appointment (not even a minute of waiting). Ever since then, the frightened feeling I used to get about seeing a dentist has been completely eliminated. The wonderful people of Royal York Dental take complicated procedures and break them down into easily understandable steps. I cannot say enough great things about Royal York Dental and their staff, I am dentist lover now!

This review has been a long-time coming and I want to be thorough so it will be lengthy. Grab a snack and settle in. I was a patient a Royal York Dental for over 7 years, maybe closer to 10, and I left because I finally had enough. I have a clear memory at my initial appointment of being told that if my insurance situation ever changed, to let them know, as they would do what they could to manage cost. At some point I went freelance and let them know I no longer had insurance. Unfortunately, by the time this happened the business had already changed ownership and my dental visits only seemed to get more expensive from there on out until I finally decided enough was enough. In recent years, every visit at Royal York Dental I was told - strongly - that I didn't take care of my teeth. I was told I didn't floss enough and as a result my gums were recessing and in the near future I would probably need a gum graft. A GUM GRAFT. I also should buy an expensive Sonicare toothbrush - which they just happen to sell there. I got so many units of scaling I could have opened a rock-climbing gym. Nothing was ever optional, everything was "necessary". Not to mention, my cleanings were always painful no matter how well I took care of my teeth (so. much. scaling). There was even a time between visits where I flossed every single day. I made it my mission. I went in and was told I need to floss more and I was headed towards a larger issue. They made me feel like I lost the dental genetic lottery no matter what I did. I started to ask around among my friends and I realized - none of them were *this* unhappy with their dentist visits. I was convinced I must have bad teeth but I'd give a new place a shot because the cost at RYD was just getting to be too much. WELL - I just had an incredibly thorough (and oddly enough, not painful) cleaning, exam and x-rays elsewhere and both the dentist and hygienist said my teeth were actually in great shape. My recessing gums? Turns out they aren't changing and in fact, they are what they would expect from someone who had braces. Nothing to worry about. Especially not with how well I take care of my teeth. HUH. They also charge the provincially recommended amounts for dental services. And the front desk staff were wonderful. I came home in shock. Do not go to Royal York Dental. After years of being lied to I feel obligated to share and warn others. Going to the dentist doesn't need to be expensive or worrisome.

Royal York Dental is a great practice that simply makes going to the dentist (which, let's face it, is never a pleasant experience) as easy, pain-free, and enjoyable as possible. From the well-appointed and relaxing office (kids play room & treasure chest, TV, free WiFi, coffee, tea and snacks) to the excellent quality of dentistry and convenient payment and insurance processing, Royal York Dental simply makes everything easy. Why couldn't every dental experience be as wonderful for everyone? Royal York Dental is by far the best dental clinic I've ever been too, so happy I switched here. Used to dread going in for a dentist appointment, but here, you always leave better than you were! Skilled, thorough, and with the highest expertise. You always know you're in good hands and the staff here is amazing; so warm and attentive! They treat you like family, I look forward to all my dentist appointments now. I have always been impressed with the exceptional service and quality of care provided by the Royal York Dental team, but my experience with Dr. Stamenkovic took things to a whole new level. She is by far one of the most knowledgeable and caring professionals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with (and as someone who works in health care, I have met a great many health professionals). When I realized that a gum graft procedure was imminent (I had put the procedure off so long that I had almost no gum tissue left on my two lower, front teeth) I was scared to say the least, but Dr. Stamenkovic put my mind at ease from the outset. She took her time explaining the procedure and answering my (many) questions. I knew almost immediately that I was in good hands, not only because she was highly experienced, but moreover because she was incredibly empathic and caring. She went above and beyond to ensure I was well taken care of, from responding to my request for an anxiolytic pre-medication on her day off, to following up with me over the course of the weekend after my procedure to make sure that I was okay. The procedure was an unequivocal success – I now have beautiful, healthy, pink gum where there used to be none – and I am so grateful for the amazing care that I received from Dr. Stamenkovic. I would recommend her to anyone considering a gum graft procedure as part of their oral health care in a heartbeat!

Truly the best dental experience I've had!! - I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Amato and his team. Dr. Amato is unique in that he's actually incredibly likable as a person. He makes you feel comfortable and seems to care very much about his patients. He's managed to build a team around him that compliments his practice. If I had to do it again (and I'm hopeful I won't, ha) I'd be booking my appointment with Dr. Amato and his team at Royal York Dental. Thanks team!!

I've been coming to Royal York Dental for just over a year now and I'm incredibly impressed. I've suffered from major anxiety about Dentists for most of my life, & had been travelling quite far to see my regular dentist. I was hesitant about switching. I'm so glad I did. Everyone at RYD is so incredibly nice, & comforting. The hygienists are always super gentle, & so friendly. My dentist is always patient with me, and makes sure I'm as comfortable as I can be. I don't mind seeing the dentist now!

Always 5 stars. Needed to spend 4 hours at your clinic yesterday & honestly it felt more like minutes. RYD created an impression of my tooth & magically produced a perfect crown (in your clinic) & installed it in the SAME visit. No muss No fuss. And no pain. While I was waiting for my crown, Dr Aiello completed my annual exam & repaired a cavity. My 'crowning' visit was topped off by cleaning, scaling & polishing by the amazing hygienist Amanda. While I watched the soccer game off & on in my dental chair!!! Everything was so high tech that I felt that I was in an episode of Star Wars. Your excellence starts with a beautifully appointed & stocked waiting room (TV, fireplace, magazines, books, newspapers, coffee, juice, protein bars, etc). I am a long time patient. The care is good, though expensive. It is well over the fee guide and even with double insurance I pay quite a bit out of pocket. It seems have gotten quite a bit more expensive since Dr. Joe sold the practice. I like my hygienist so have remained as a patient. The staff is too aggressive with scheduling and follow up - to the point of annoyance. Even after confirming an appointment, they send reminder texts early in the morning on the weekend and at 6:00 a.m. the day of the appointment. They also have a bad habit of calling to reschedule the day of an appointment, recently calling multiple times in a morning to see if I could move up my appointment (I couldn't answer because I was in meetings and it was annoying to have my phone buzzing every 20 minutes). In short, the office isn't the same as it was when Dr. Joe and Dr. Blitz were there, but if you don't mind paying a premium, and getting multiple early morning reminders for every appointment, you will get good dental care.

Patient for three years. Had been told by other former patients of Royal York Dental to watch for unnecessary treatments. Was told I needed four cavities filled. Got a second opinion and upon review of my xrays new dentist couldn't find a single cavity that needed work. I don't recommend this dentist.

One of the best dental experiences of my life. Having switched dentists 3 years to ago to Royal York thanks to a recommendation, I have never looked back. Whitney is on eof the best dental hygienists, capable, efficient and friendly. She will make you incredibly comfortable, even if dental work is something your scared of. Dr Elias, with delicate care just performed a cavity repair without any anesthetic. One of the most skilled dentist I've had the pleasure of performing work. I highly recommend Royal York Dental to anyone who is looking for quality dental care.

Dr. Fahed and the Hygienists were amazing at helping me with my anxiety. They were extremely accommodating (i had to split my fillings in 2 appointments due to my anxiety), and were kind and understanding throughout. I would highly recommend this dental clinic. Royal York Dental has been an absolute savior for me in my dental journey. I have extensive dental problems. I have needed multiple implants, root canals, crowns, bridges and cosmetic work and they have always done an incredible job. I have always been so nervous and self conscious about my teeth and my anxiety before dental work is always uncomfortably high, but everyone from the second I walk through the door is welcoming, kind and most importantly for me, non judgemental. Dental health can be such a stressor for those of us that have had life experiences that have impacted our teeth. The dentists and hygienists take their time in listening to your concerns and really ensure that you are clearly understood. This is a somewhat late review of Dr. Fahad. I want to say he is the most amazing dentist. Twice he saw me in an emergency. I had lost a filling. He carefully studied my tooth and said: "I can replace this filling without freezing as it is not near the nerve." His careful skillful hands did this so comfortably!! Another emergency visit: He saw me immediately and treated me skillfully and professionally. He could not find an exact cause of my pain. After careful assessment, he assured me that the tooth seemed fine and we should wait to see if it caused increased discomfort. I am happy to recommend this outstanding dentist!

I’ve been going to Royal York Dental for years, and should have wrote this review sooner regarding my Dental Hygienist, Olya. She is the absolute kindest, gentle, thorough, and caring Hygienist I’ve been fortunate enough to have look after me, and my oral care. I typically dread going to the dentist, for anything, but having Olya there with her warm demeanour, care and friendly smile, makes it so much easier. Royal York Dental is lucky have to have such a wonderful woman on their Team.

I was in Toronto for work when I had a dental emergency. I called to schedule an emergency appointment and they were able to see me that day just a few hours after I had called. It turns out that one of my molars had a chunk missing and was infected. I was given the choice between a root canal or an extraction and I chose to go with the extraction. The extraction appointment was booked the very next day. The entire process from start to finish was amazing! I forget the name of the surgeon who removed my tooth but she was very professional, honest, and helpful every step of the way. She took extra care and precaution to make sure that I was comfortable and safe before she did anything. The entire staff at this office are extremely kind and friendly.
