Terrible experience with their dental insurance claims. The clinic claimed my insurance 4 times for the same appointment, and made mistake on the type of x-ray used for my dental check-up. They kept pestering me to pay them the remaining charges not paid by my insurance company. Also, they insist they did not make any mistakes when submitting the claim to my insurance company. Did not even apologize even after finally realizing they made mistakes after a few months of emailing back and forth.
I have been to dentists all over the lower mainland and had developed crippling anxiety around oral hygiene and visits to the dentist. I can't speak to the administration quality that some others have expressed here, but Dr McInnis has the best bedside manner and quality of work I have ever experienced. I no longer take adavan for visits and he schedules me for longer so I have lots of breaks. As someone who values the quality of experience over everything, if you have any nervousness in the chair, see Dr McInnis!
As always an excellent experience. I recommend them for your dental treatments. Brian M
I have been a patient of Cresta Dental Centre for years. I recently paid $1000 to have a crown which immediately started to hurt so the dentist did a root canal. When the pain continued I went back to the dentist who indicated that perhaps he had missed the bottom of the root and there might be some infection there. He said the pain would come and go and indicated that at some point I would need either dental surgery or have the tooth extracted. I have been back to that office four time about this tooth and this weekend the pain became intolerable. I called their office and was told to come in this morning at 10:00, it is almost an hours drive for me but I arrived only to be told by the on call dentist that they couldn't extract the tooth because they were "afraid" they might break the crown or crack the root. They had all this information before I left home - why did they tell me to come down and see the dentist. Now I am in terrible pain, the pain killers aren't working and when I phone them back the response I got was sorry, they couldn't help me but perhaps I could go to the hospital. This is my dentist's office telling me this. They obviously have no loyalty and little concern, if any, for their long time patients. So now I have to find another dentist that is willing to see me on short notice. To say that I am disgusted would be an understatement. They are certainly happy to take your money quickly enough but when you really need help, sorry they can't do anything. I will never go back to them and I would warn others that if you are going there and start having problems with your teeth, don't expect them to do anything for you. Their response to everything is, sorry.
Fantastic Dentists and staff!
Took my daughter in last year for check up and cleaning. Was told she needs 7 fillings and they wanted to put her under because there were so many, an uncovered 250 dollar charge. Called to make an appt and was told I owed money, asked them to check that.... oh, you paid it. What else? There was a problem with my plan and I didn't respond to their letters. Really? Oh.... you did. Told them they aren't the only dentist in town. Today took my daughter in to another dentist. She has 3 cavities, one should be done ASAP the others are in her baby teeth and no rush. Told they'll probably come out before its a problem. Get a second opinion.... save you alot of trouble anxiety and money.
I just recently starting see Dr. Luckhurst. He is very knowledgeable, gentle and a great dentist
A few years ago I went in to get a lot of work done. Hadn't been to the dentist in quite a few years and had done major issues going on. I was already embarrassed about the condition of my teeth, which is why I hadn't been to the dentist in so long, and was told that I had the worst mouth dr Muir had ever seen on someone my age. He charged us thousands of dollars to fix it all and within two years I'm losing fillings, left right and center, he left two of my teeth to high when he filled them causing them both to die from my adjusted bite. When I returned to the office to get my teeth cleaned by some old man dentist... He told me that I for sure probably have diabetes... This assumption was based on the fact that my gums were bleeding because whoever his little helper was your my gums up with floss. Like what kind of crazy people work here?! It is 3 years later and I am still so angry about how I was treated by these people that I decided to put up this review. Just really unfair, especially considering the phobia I was dealing with. Terrible... Just terrible.
Gave false advise on cavities that I didn't have & booked me in twice to take X-rays... why? Cause they only want to rack up your extended dental charge's. Was told I needed a root canal, went to another dentist, he told me the tooth could not be canalled, so it was pulled. Stay away from here if you value money. Secretary's are like highschool giggles girls. Not professional at all.
Fair and honest with friendly staff who give good advice.
A great team, never had any issues. They do an amazing job!! Super satisfied!!
I got recommended to Dr Min Li, she is the best dentist I have ever worked with. always polite, knowledgeable, willing to explain to you. She gives you advice on how to protect your tooth on regular basis. All the fixes she has done to be turn out to be very good, no need for repair so far. I will always get my teeth fixed by her.
Great Office!
Great staff and office!
0/10 don't go
Just recently went here, the office was all new and very clean. Felt really safe with the covid procedures in place
For the most part, a friendly group of dentists who offer basic dental services. However, if you need a root canal, you might want to look elsewhere for a dentist who actually does them effectively. It is our experience that Cresta Dental may not be skilled inthis complex procedure.
Have not been to dentist in over 10 years, I got ripped off last time I was at a dentist. A friend recommended me to this place I had nothing to loose. They gave me a full walk through of what needed to be done, I have 4 teeth that are broken. Walked out with a plan for my whole mouth recommending what to do first and what can wait I really appreciated that. They will be my dentist now!!!!!! Until today broke my tooth call for an emergency and just get oh no that’s no good we don’t have any dentists till wensday after noon. Back to hating dentists how can some one expect you to tail a couple days when you can’t even move your mouth.
I have been with Dr. Lu since I landed here in 2013 amazing dentist but they just lost a client due to the front desk does not know how to correctly book appointments and only there for their check! After three failed attempts at getting my tooth looked at I go in on fourth attempt after they promised up and down Dr. Li would be my dentist, nope walked back and a guy dentist came in and I said screw this place! Front desk people needs lessons on how to make appointments!
Stay away from this clinics if you don't want to get fooled. Dr. Li is best dentist. Unfortunately, clinics is trying to trick customers as much as they can do
This has been my go to dentist for many years. I once had a chipped tooth another dentist was trying to talk me into a crown whereas at Cresta I got a filling that is still holding strong today. They saved me thousands of dollars and I have been a loyal customer ever since.
From the front desk to the dentist chair the entire experience was great! We came in with an emergency issue (on a Sunday during the holidays) and the Cresta team gave us amazing care. We are so grateful!
Great Office!
I've been a patient at Cresta Dental for over 15 years, along with my family, and can say that I've always had a very positive experience. This, despite sharp metal objects poking around in my mouth, and the fact that most would probably agree that going to the dentist was not the most fun part of any day. Dr. McInnis is tops, and Christine my hygienist is very thorough and caring.
I only give 1 star because I can't go lower. This review is specifically regarding their unbelivable billing system. I have limited benefits and asked them to arrange an appointment that wasn't more than the 1,000 my insurance covers. I had my procedure done, and they told me billing wasn't an issue. I get a letter from my insurance saying that they over submitted. At this point I had already paid this company over 600.00 out of my own pocket. I called them to confirm I didn't owe anymore money and they are now telling me I owe another 700.. This is ridiculous. I feel like I have been taken advantage of. Thanks to the billing department I will never return to this dental office for work again. They want to suck you dry. Stay away
Great customer service overall; really positive experience. Would definitely recommend Cresta to someone thinking about switching dental offices, especially if you're in need of an office that's open on evenings and weekends!
So far I've received excellent services on getting my teeth cleaned over the years. I once experienced a rear molar tooth ache that the pain was so unbearable. I phoned in the afternoon, explained my "suffering" and they gave me an appointment the following morning. Arrived next day, dentist extracted problem molar felt so good. On another instance they inspected my teeth discovering a root canal job. They said they're ill equipped for the task & referred me to Dr. Denis Nagy's 1830 Oak Bay office. Again it was a great experience.
Dr.Li best dentist
Had an emergency while in Victoria and they got me in the next day. Friendly and helpful front staff, Dr.Li was very knowledgeable and kind. They worked with our insurance and gave me an estimate to let me know what would not be covered. Would definitely recommend.
I would like to thank Cresta Dental for the exceptional work I received from their office. My dental appointment was the best I've ever had. Super easy, painless and quick. The dentists and staff we're really helpful with working out my treatment plan and finding out my insurance coverage. If you're looking for a dentist I would highly recommend Cresta.
Great staff. Always offer options and recommendations about treatment.
My old dentist haven't been there in the Years last time I was it was good
I cannot believe the level of incompetence this joke of a business works on. The reception staff (Sachi was her name) is extremely rude and unprofessional toward me, a long time patient of dr.Mckinnis. I immediately had canceled my future appointments and will not be returning to this office.
Staff there are great. Hygienist are wonderful and my dentist is great. Never had a problem
I am very happy with the dental work I have received at Cresta Dental from Dr McInnis. He takes the time to make sure his work is perfect and he is very gentle.
Great location for us. Staff are friendly and courteous. We love having Dr. Muir as our Dentist and Christine as our hygienist
Went for an emergency root canal and Cresta was awesome, they got me right in, and to be honest i was stressed and nervous, but their whole team was so great with me, they put me at ease. I've found my new dentist thanks to this unfortunate situation, the best office and sweetest staff I've ever met!
I lost a filling a few years back which by my own fault I neglected to the point where I was slowly losing the rest of the tooth. A friend told me to go see Dr Muir so I made an appt to have it checked out. He was awesome! It was by far the most effortless dental appt I have ever had in my life. Dr Muir and the entire staff did an amazing job of making me feel welcome and comfortable even guiding me through the whole procedure of what he was doing! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has misgivings about going to the dentist!
Counter staff and billing do not listen to customer needs; refusal to take accountability for their mistakes and lies. Shouldn't expect more from a mall dentist office. Shocking that they keep people who clearly have no interest in customer service or providing accurate care.
So handy that this office is open evenings and weekends. Staff have always been kind and helpful.
The key to a successful business is customer service. Cresta receives 5 stars for customer service and dental procedure. Monday April 4th 2017 my front crown came off, I went to Hillside Dental, I was told that I would need a root canal, post and new crown. I asked the receptionist if they bill according to BC Dental Association fee guide, she said yes. She gave me a treatment plan which includes an estimate and an appointment for April 26 more than 3 weeks later. I asked her can you get me in sooner she said I am sure we can get you in before that date. I called Friday April 7th and asked about getting me in sooner she said no one has canceled. This was a clear indication to me that they were not working on it. If they really had my best interest they could of called patients who had appointments for regular check-ups or cleaning and move there appointment around to accommodate me. I am sure no one in that practice would walk around for over 3 weeks with a missing front tooth. Friday April 7th 8:30 pm I called Cresta Dental and explained to them my situation, she gave me a consultation appointment for Saturday the next day. Same diagnoses, they said they would get me in asap and gave me an estimate. I compared the both estimates and notice a discrepancy with respect to the cost of the crown. Hillside it was $825.00 Cresta it was $761.00. I checked the fee guide, cost $761.00 a difference of $64.00. I received a call late Sunday from Cresta and they said they had moved appointments around and gave me an appointment for the next day. KUDOS to Dr.Dhaliwal and his assistant Margery
The front end staff are very caring and helpful, I've away enjoy my chats with Zoe. The Dentist's and Hygienists that I've seen were all wonderful. I highly recommend this office.
Great office, my hygienist Nicky is always so nice and gentle.
I went here because my tooth is hurting me a lot. The first dentist took an X-ray and decided to grind down my tooth. This didn’t help, in fact my pain became worse so I returned. The second dentist looked at the same X-ray and realized my tooth is cracked. So the first dentist ground down a cracked tooth. The second dentist gave me desensitization treatment and told me I needed a mouth guard and sent a $200 bill. I asked why I had to pay for the first service since he misdiagnosed and mistreated me. I didn’t realize there’s so much guess work in dentistry. If he said “I’m not sure what’s wrong so I’m going to grind your tooth down” I’d of said “no!” Now they’re threatening to send me to a collection agency. I’ve contacted the BBB. Do not use their services. They’re scamming people by not properly diagnosing and giving unnecessary treatments.
i had a great time at cresta dental. I particularly had a wonderful and uplifting conversation with the young receptionist before my operation. Thank you.
Amazing .care and felt safe and would recommend to everyone
I have been a loyal patient with Cresta Dental for almost 10 years and feel its high time I gave them some praise! Dr. McInnis is highly knowledgeable and skilled, very compassionate and caring, has a lovely bedside manner, and always takes the time to explain procedures and options in a respectful and patient manner. Nicole and all the hygienists are excellent; I always feel well cared for and my concerns are always heard. As a RN who does shift work it can be difficult for busy offices to accommodate me, Cresta Dental however has great hours and the reception staff are always helpful and friendly. I recommend these folks very highly!
Awesome service, both at the front desk and with the dentist. Took me on a Sunday to have an onlay which popped out put back and I couldn't have asked for faster or better service. A+
Went there on a recommendation. Glad I did, the front end staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The dentist was very informative of what he was doing and wasn’t just looking to max out my dental plan and pad his bottom line. Highly recommend this well run office.
Not sure why the negative reviews are so bad. I just had an emergency filling on a chipped tooth here, first visit, and though I had to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time for treatment, the treatment I got was great. Dr Li Min was friendly and communicative and did a great job. I'm very pleased.
Really pleased with the great staff and services provided here!
Awesome Office!
Went here for a second opinion and the office was courteous and polite. Did not felt rushed through and the front staff was attentive and helped with my insurance details. Thank you!
Amazing front end staff, dentists and hygienists! Every time I come in I am beyond pleased with my experience. I highly recommend Cresta for anyone looking for a new dentist!
I came to cresta because they were the only dentist I'd found to bill directly to my insurance, great! I went to Dr. Daliwal and him and his assistant seemed great to start and we created a dental plan. First step was 2 fillings on my right side molars. The procedure seemed alright but 2 weeks later I was still in pain. I knew the one tooth would end up a root canal and chose extraction instead, and instantly there was a change in the two, mocking me, belittling me and the pain and discomfort they'd caused. Even the receptionists were snarky and sarcastic. Very unprofessional. I cancelled my other appointment and after over a month instead of 2 simple fillings I got infections in both sites, had an extraction in one which became a dry socket and also caused canker sores and pain.
Great dental office, friendly and professional staff and amazing hours!
Same story as many others. The dentists/hygienist were good but the receptionist are totally out to lunch. After messing up our appointments multiple times (asking us to come in on the wrong day, asking my wife to come in and supposed to be myself and vice versa) enough is enough. Our family of four will has had to move on to a new clinic. As a business owner myself I really think the owners need to take a close look at how the reception is slowly destroying this business. They were unapologetic and rude when we told them our frustrations about asking us to come in on the wrong day/continually miss booking our appointments. As a cherry on top the reception has called us twice to remind us of upcoming appointments after we had very clearly said we will not be coming back. After that they than texted us to remind us of upcoming appointments lol. Ya we’re done thanks.
