The administration at this clinic is very poor. I had a credit on my account for 18 months, as my insurance erroneously paid for treatment to the dentist when I had paid up front. No phone call, no letter to let me know that they had $180 of MY money. After going to the office, I still wasn't told that I had a credit, paid for my visit (now I was no longer covered by insurance) and when I looked at my receipt in the car after leaving, I saw that I had a credit! I walked back into the office and asked about it - they said the office manager would look into it. I was not impressed with the dismissive attitude. It took 10 days to finally get the refund in the mail. I will never return to this office and will not recommend this clinic to anyone.

I was recommended to Dental Choice by a friend who works in the dental industry. They just renovated and WOW! Very nice space now as was getting dated. Keep up the great work.

I experience "trauma" when I was younger around dentists - and through sorting out my own issues with it- I expressed to Dr J, as well as most recently the Hygenists, my fears, my worries, my OH GOD A NEEDLE!! (Im not kidding i am a MAJOR MAN BABY at the dentist) They, along with Deandre? (Front desk) heard me, calmed me (non medicated) and guided me. Dr J is incredible - with patience, and sympathy. I came back to them BECAUSE Dr J was so willing to be there for us the patients - and my most recent experience on 9/13/19 affirmed going to them was always the right choice!! ALWAYS recommend!

Dr.J & the staff are incredibly friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I am very anxious when visiting the dentist but Dr.J made me feel like I could relax. My very first visit I came in for a chipped tooth and he fixed it right away. I had options for what we could do with no insurance and the staff gave me LOTS of options on how I could pay & make it work for me. After I picked an option & Dr.J fixed it, the shade weirdly didn't match for some reason & he offered for me to come back the next day free of charge. Dr. J is always so wonderful to work with! He makes sure he answers all my questions (even if they are slightly neurotic), and he always makes sure I understand the procedures. He recently had to fill a cavity and the needle & filling were honestly PAINLESS. I haven't even experienced a pain-free dental experience until I started see Dr. J. The admin assistants are also professional, but very personable. I'm grateful I found this place because it makes a somewhat tedious experience feel much more relaxing and efficient. :) Jill

My issue with this service provider is in regards to billing. I had one instance where I paid my bill, only to have them contact me a month later asking me to pay more, claiming that it was an issue in their new software. I get that there are growing pains. What I didn't appreciate was the exact same thing happening six months later. When I questioned them about it, I recieved inconsistant reasons for who was at fault from different members of the administration staff. They have lost me as a customer.

I have been going to this office for a few years now, and although I moved to the north side of the river, I will never switch offices. The dentists care very caring and always check in with how you're doing. The hygienists are gentle and considerate if you have sensitivities. I also love the reception staff they're always so friendly and warm.

I visited Dental Choice on recommendation of a family member and was pleasantly surprised. The space is clean, well organized and produces a professional vibe. The administrator at the front desk (Naomi), was very helpful in getting my information collected. After the treatment she helped me out figuring out what my treatment options and costs would be for some followup work I required. The hygienist who looked after me (Amy) was patient, knowledgeable and gentle during the x-rays and cleaning. She was upfront about extra costs and had a good handle on what was and was not covered in most dental plans. The dentist I met with was known as Dr. J. He apparently has a complex last name that I did not catch and chooses to expedite things my going my the first letter of his first name. His examination confirmed what a previous dentist had told me earlier this year, immediately adding to his credibility. He avoided using jargon to attempt to browbeat me into a treatment plan he preferred, which I appreciated. Dr. J was extremely understanding of my wariness of the high costs associated dental work. He composed a plan to knock out any work he proposed within the budget I had available (between personal funds and my available benefits). Bookings are easy, with a online option and a quick followup phone call. They also book in the evenings, which is an extra plus. I will be back for sure.

Before your make your decision to go there, read my review. Poor customer service and long waiting time at the clinic. Read the other 1 star reviews and you will confirm what I am saying... I have been a patient at this place for 2 years and at first they had an ok customer service, now is very poor. They call you to let you know that your annual "check up" is duo, then they book your appointment. When you arrive at the clinic be aware that you will wait for a looooooong time, at least 30min. The miscommunication at this clinic is unbelievable. BE CAREFUL! Usually clinics confirm all your information before you book the appointment and if you have benefits, they can do direct bill as well. But this place is always giving you the job. They don't confirm your information and ask you to call the company... Their first contact was in October, my benefits took 1 week to authorize everything and they keep saying that I needed to call the company... Guess what was wrong? one of my information that they did not confirm when they book the appointment. My appointment ended being in DECEMBER... I have been there around 3 or 4 times and all of them I waited more than 25 minutes... Why do you need to book one appointment if you will wait the same amount of time that you usually wait at other clinics which accept a walk-in? I was used to go there because a very competent dentist,but unfortunately she is on mat leave and probably will not come back. Other dentist did the service, he seemed nice, he did his job, and we talked about me getting a Sports guard.I asked the people at the front desk to check with my benefits company if they would cover it. IT TOOK MORE THAN 3 weeks to hear back from them and my benefits did not cover it, so I asked about the price and then I learned how much unprofessional they are... The dentist told me that the price is between $150 and $250 to make it. Now I ask, Can you go to a restaurant, choose the meal and then the server tell you, "Sir, this one is between $150 and $250 dollars, It will depend on how much the cook will charge us' ???? I am sorry, I cannot understand how I can make business in a place like that. I WILL NEVER come back there and YOU SHOULD NOT go there as well...

I had called to explain my situation in detail and was told to come in. After signing all the forms including credit card information, I was brought to the back and told my insurance probably wouldn't cover the work needed. Knowing that I wanted to make sure of coverage before proceeding the hygienist brought the doctor over and she looked at my tooth for 10 seconds, stated the obvious and walked away. All of that I'm sure just to make charging me $70 for the 10 second "check up" somewhat justifiable. All of my money and time wasted had they suggested checking my benefits knowing the situation from my initial phone call. Their "transparency" they brag about is a clever lie. Just another devious and dishonest dental office.

This was completely the opposite of my experience. Carly was my dental hygienist. It is hard to come with words to express how great and personable she is at her career. Asked for two units of scaling, ONLY as this was what I had budgeted for. Told them I did not have insurance too. Research was done prior to making appointment into prices and procedures based on information from the Alberta Dental Association as well as from the dental office itself. Instructions were given to the office while making appointment and at the start of the procedure. Had four units of scaling done instead without consultation or confirmation from me. Found out AS I was paying the bill, which was paid immediately in full by myself. Bill was over double what I had budgeted for. While I understand sometimes it may be medically more sound to do certain procedures, consultation at a minimum should have been utilized with the patient. Moved to another dentist after being with them since childhood. Extremely questionable ethics, which is highly concerning given the medical nature of this field.

Dr. Kezar changed my life. Front staff is terrible. I received an emailed that I had been sent to collections after zero notifications from my dentist. I was told 6 months ago to come in and sign paperwork for a balance on my acct and everything would be cleared (the staff was very rude during phone call) Assumed the paperwork had gone through until I received an email from a collections agency. I then called to find out what the balance was for and was told it was the same issue I had dealt with 6 MONTHS AGO. Asked why I had not received any phone calls or emails and front desk had no answer and told me that I should have been notified. So if you like being sent to collections after being notified 0 times I would go here

Dr Yiyang Wang and the staff at Whyte Ave Dental are absolutely incredible. I had a appointment booked ,overnight my tooth abscessed..Dr Wang took great care of me. Upon paying my bill, which was reasonable, my insurance company would not cover a procedure that was preformed. Dr Wang took it upon herself an wrote off this portion. I have been back numerous times and travel across the city as I would never change dentists. She is extremely gentle even with tooth extractions! The clinic itself is extremely inviting. You feel at ease as soon as you enter the premises.The staff are knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure you understand every aspect of your procedure. Its more like a family than a Doctor/client relationship.

We just saw Dr. Wang for my 2 yr old daughter's first check up and cleaning! Dr. Wang was so kind, gentle and professional. The clinic looks so new & modern now and they have tv's that swivel, to distract you (and your kids) no matter how you're sitting/laying. I have been going to this dental office for years, and I have been very happy with them. They have fit me in when I had a dental emergency, and even though the dentists have changed a few times, I have found them all very good to deal with. The hygienist that I see here, Janet, is the only one that I have ever had clean my teeth where my mouth doesn't hurt afterwards, which is a big part of the reason that I keep going back here. I highly recommend this dental office

Dr. Wang is truly the most amazing, talented and artistically skilled Dentist that I have ever had the pleasure to know. I have been to several dentists in my lifetime and have never had such a wonderful healing, empathetic experience in any of my many services from previous. Dr. Wang fixed a problem that several others could not, I was in daily pain from a tooth needing fillings and Dr Wang successfully repaired this. Even to the point of my needle phobia, has now been eliminated as I did not even feel the needle for the fillings. I recently had a wisdom tooth extracted, and considering how unpleasant extractions are, I had a great experience under Dr. J's care. I am definitely a huge wimp when it comes to needles/blood etc. and Dr. J made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. He performed the extraction so well that I didn't even need to fill out the painkiller prescription after the procedure. I've been going to Whyte Ave Dental Choice since 2008. The care has been excellent over a range of procedures and with several dentists, all grounded in the highly skilled and knowledgeable hygiene provided by Amy. Referrals for specialist services are handled easily if you need them. I've always liked the fact that the helpful receptionists take care of most of the routine filing of paperwork with dental plans. I have also been going to University Dental Choice for convenience because it is a little closer to the LRT, but WADC seems to be easier to make changes to appointment dates and times. I've had dental care in other parts of Canada and abroad, and this is by far superior to anything I've experienced. A well-run, helpful, friendly, professional, no-nonsense, and prevention-focused clinic.

Dr. Wang and Dr. Jalal are the best. It's so nice to see dentists who actually care how you feel, and are not always pushing the newest and most expensive treatments. Dr. Wang has the softest touch, which I appreciate since I don't have good pain tolerance. The new renovation looks so modern, it's like a spa (aside from the noise of drills!)

I had a very hanus experience at the dental choice on whyte. i called to book and when I showed up they had neglected to inform me of things I should have been told on the phone. Secondly they prepared me for a dental examination, had ignored everything I hand told them on phone and when what I wanted only was to talk to the doctor. He was nice brown man i forget his name. he was very helpful. Based on that, i chose to return many months later to have work done so I called in to book. they pulled up my file on phone and the girl put me on hold telling me she needed to get her manager and that it be a few minutes. she neglected to tell me why. she then left me on hold for a long time so I hung up and called again. she then told me her manager left and that I could talk to her tomorrow. AGAIN THIS IS TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT PEOPLE. SO WHATS GOIN ON??? So I asked whats happening Im trying to book and appoint why do I need the manager? her answer was Id have to talk to the manager about it. but she has left now for the day. I said do you know how weird this all sounds ? and her answer was Im sorry(Sorry dosnt cut it when you are continuously being evasive and unproffessional) but the manager said you have to talk to her and that was what the receptionist was going to do. Well at this point Im beyond disbelief and feeling totally in the dark and upset at some story these people have made up about me yet refuse to share with me. the manager was there and didnt even have the decency to call me back when I hung up the first time and she left just ignoring the issue at hand. the receptionist said the manager would call me in the morning and so I told the receptionist to tell the manager not to bother and I hung up. Terrible customer service and follow through of information. Anytime someone needs a dentist or if they talk about this office I will know what to say.

Friendly desk staff, friendly hygenic staff, and competent all around. Dentist herself was also very friendly. Information and help was quickly provided for any issues and I enjoyed it about as much as one enjoys getting their teeth stabbed and scraped with literal picks. As a further note, I hadn't gone to the dentist in a long time (I know) and was glad when the staff did not admonish me for this but instead was helpful in setting up more consistent follow up. Great team.
