I would have put a 5 star but the wait time for my daughter's check up was very long due to a issue with a previous patient who had issue with freezing tied up the dentist. The clinic needs to book less patients to avoid delays.

We were advised to go see Dr. Al-Qishawi at this office, and his level of skills and knowledge is above and beyond! He is very humble and dawn to earth with the patients. This is the best Dental Centre I've ever expienced.it all started with an emergency surgery on a couple of teeth, which I've never been fond of dentists but this place changed my whole outlook on coming to get my teeth done they are all amazingly friendly and sympathetic to your needs but after the freezing wore off there was absolutely no pain I didn't need any pain meds what so ever after the surgery and that's what prompt me to get all my teeth pulled without hesitation to get dentures....so to all people who are wondering where to go I highly recommend this place....thanks to the staff and dentists for making my visits enjoyable... Had the best experience yesterday getting my teeth cleaned. I normally have to go in 2 appointments as I find the process excruciating but my dental assistant was so gentle and so sweet. I was disappointed to find Dr Haymour had left, but I very quickly learned that Dr Al-Qishawi is also a top notch dentist, he is highly skilled and does excellent work. I have already recommended him to people I know because a level of trust was established after only a couple of quick visits, simply because he is very good; he also saw me on a Sunday morning mid-COVID crisis with no quibbles at all. 10/10; no hesitation to recommend, superior service and friendly staff :)

The People are nice and it used to be my goto place but i may find a new Dentist as my last visit from about 11:00 - 11:25 was billed two units of scaling and 1 unit of polishing which according to Manulife is 45 minutes of labor which just don't add up. It also took two trips for the one yearly cleaning and checkup.

Quite a while back I went into Kingsway dental with a chipped front tooth, broken all the way to the gum line. I had no money, and no coverage. They had me come for two back to back visits, complete with a root canal, post, and white filling to match my other teeth. Nervously I asked for how much? They only charged me $25. Thanks guys, the filling is still there over 15 years later.

I went in for a consultation as it's been a while since I’ve been to the dentist, and I know I need some work done. Whichever dentist saw me was rude, and ignored pretty much everything I said, and then proceeded to dig around and poke and pick at my one bad tooth (again, that I was very aware of), and as a result, my mouth has been in constant pain since. Prior to him digging around in my mouth, I had no pain at all. Regular pain killers aren’t helping, so this is likely going to be a trip to the doctor and prescription pain meds, so thanks for that. Furthermore, I’ve been a patient at this clinic for 10+ years, and apparently there was no file or record of me ever having been. In fact, I was asked if I was a patient by reception upon booking and again when I arrived, by the dental assistant when I was finally taken back and again by the dentist himself. My missing file baffles me. I used to see Dr. Haymour and he was the best dentist I have ever been to. Maybe the dentist I saw was just a dud and the others there are good, but I’m hesitant to refer anyone to this practice.

A painless root canal - I can't believe it. I'd never had a root canal before this, but I'd heard horror stories of extreme pain during the process. So I was pretty much terrified when the hygienist suggested I might need a root canal and the dentist confirmed it... It started as an emergency appt on a Friday evening. I'd never been to Kingsway Dental Centre before, but I googled something like "emergency dentist edmonton" when half my tooth just popped off while I was flossing (scary!!), and I called the first one that looked trustworthy. They got me in for an appt 30 mins later. Once there, I was told I'd need a root canal. I thought I'd have to spend the next few days stressing out and in pain while they scheduled me in - but they said they could do it that night. No need to go home and stress with anticipation. I told the dentist I was very nervous - I'd had problems with freezing not taking, with a previous dentist, and feeling *everything* when the drill ticked a nerve ----- a pain you just don't forget. He didn't make me feel weird. (Other dentists have kinduv rolled their eyes at this story.) He froze half of my mouth *so well* that I didn't feel a thing. I was nervous because, of course, you can still hear the drill and I was sure, any second, that drill would tick the nerve. The drilling was done so fast - and I had no reason to be nervous. I didn't feel a thing. <-- this is a marvel to me He quickly moved through the rest of the root canal process. It was an hour in that chair, but it honestly didn't feel like it. And the whole time, they would take x-rays to see how things were looking... and then *show me* the X-rays on the TV so I actually felt like I had a clue what was going on. Took away the mystery of all this tooth-fixing stuff. A week later (yesterday), I went back in to have my temp filling replaced with a permanent one. Again, I was nervous that the no-pain thing last time was just a fluke. But once again - zero pain. And my filling feels honestly better than other fillings. Sometimes it takes some getting used to, to have bits of the filling sort of wear down and erode to fit your bite over time. But I was chewing pizza crust on the filling last night - and nadda. It's great. Honestly, when I first arrived at this dentist's office a week ago for that emergency appt, I wasn't sure I'd made the right call. It doesn't look like a fancy dentist's office. It's not pristine and shiny, like the ones you see that are supposedly "dental spas." But please see past that. My experience here is the only one I've ever had at a dentist's where I actually felt really, really good the whole time. This place should not be a secret.

Words can’t describe the service I received with my First visit at Kingsway Dental Centre. I was in the worst pain in my life due to a filling that was done by another dentist two months ago which ended up becoming severely infected. Thanks to Dr Al-Qishawi I'm free of any pain after a root canal procedure. Very Nice and professional staff. Emily was very kind and knowledgeable of the services offered. I hate the dentist. For multiple reasons. So when my tooth chipped and I knew I would have to get it fixed. I was anxious and not at all excited. I found the dental center online and did some research before trusting any other dentist near me. Dental center had the best reviews, and I can see why. The staff are wonderful. But most of all, the dentist is lovely and explains everything. Which I needed in order to calm down. I loved my experience so much, I recommended my friend who also hates the dentist. And she had a very similar experience to me and was incredibly happy with how it all went as she too has had some terrible experiences with her dentist. Thank you guys for making the process, quick, kind and compassionate!

Awful experience. They said my girlfriend would need another xray, though she's had lots in the past and some recently. They would charge her for a new one, instead of contacting her previous dental clinic. They told her this the day before her appointment, hardly enough time to cancel. Then said they would still charge her for the entire appointment if she cancelled, they told us they would send it to collections. Sickening con artists. All they can see are dollar signs and not people. The blasted desk jockey lied right to us. She said she told us about charging for the entire appointment if cancelled, she DIDN'T. She said she told us they needed 48 hour notice for cancellations. SHE DIDN'T. We didn't sign a contract of any sort. We will not be paying for a service we didn't recieve. This has been the worse experience of any health care practioners I've ever encountered. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from this office. Vile and disgusting customer service. I hope you don't hustle elderly people like you tried to do to us. I hope this business goes under.

Every filling I was given fell apart in my mouth and I have to have new fillings put in replace of the ones the dentist did here. I felt as though the dentist here liked the 'idea' of what he was doing as opposed to actually being competent in his work. As a result I have to pay more and be in pain until I can save up enouh money to fix the problems he has caused. In one word, my experience can be described as Iatrogenic. Dont come here if you want your teeth to be done right. Come here if you want your dentist to act 'confident' but mess up your teeth as a result. The dentist who did such a terrible job is Dr. Al Qishawi. Avoid him if you can

The doctors actually care about their patient and are not wanting to inflict pain. whereas kingsway dental does not care about their patient when you state that your in pain they still end up drilling your teeth without freezing you.

Staff and dental team are very understanding and accommodating. I have always felt that I am involved in my dental treatment. Every thing was explained to me on big tv screens with live pictures of what's inside mouth. They showed me everything before and after. Sometimes the dentist would stop in the middle of the treatment to take pictures and show me steps of the treatment happening. I have never had a better cleaning and deep removing of the old smoking stains. They always made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I highly recommend them to any one looking for a friendly place.

I have never seen a dentist since I was a kid but I can say my first visit was very welcoming. Dr was patient and understood my nerves and took his time addressing the mess i have made of my teeth. I was looking for a new dentist in my area .when I asked my neighbour they recommended dr iyad in kingsway mall i was scared after reading the reviews but then I decided to listen to my neighbour as she has been seeing him for years .as expected , very nice and professional.He is very sharp .never felt more comfortable with a dentist in my life .He and his staff explain and explain an lot which is annoying but good .I had a root canal treatment with him and never felt any pain. I’m pretty disappointed with the lack of customer service this place now presents since being sold. Was told for months that Dr.Haymour was on vacation while in fact he is not coming back, thus prolonging my regular check ups. I was made to do unnecessary x-rays while being booked in for fillings having to pay for unnecessary treatment. I find this place now really does not care about certain customers an only about the money. Would not recommend this place to any friends/family or anyone reviewing them.

I had an exterme fear that they were just going to want to pull all my teeth and be done with it. But they have taken the time to restore all my teeth and are willing to give me a plate for the one tooth missing. Every procedure and been extremely comfortable and not painful, they have done everything to make me feel comfortable. I love Dr. Haymour. I’ve been seeing him since I moved to Edmonton 15 years ago. Unfortunately though he sold the clinic a few years ago and the new office staff are very off-putting and unprofessional. My understanding is that Smiles Dental runs the office very differently, with a much heavier focus on profit and efficiency, but they also have a responsibility to the patient that right now they are not living up to. All of the office staff left when the new company took over, and unlike Jo and the other girls, who I miss very much, the new staff are obviously not customer-service oriented. They are cold and often come across as being quite rude. I also have frequent issues with them regarding client privacy issues as I have a very common first and last name and they seem to confuse me with other Jessicas every time I speak to them. I had to cancel an appointment and they cancelled someone else’s instead. I went in for a root canal and they couldn’t find any of the pre-auth information from the insurance company because she was looking at another patient with the same name. They once read out my address to confirm it and (you guessed it) it was someone else’s address. I work for a large corporation and I would be fired immediately if I was this careless with my clients’ personal information, so I don’t see why I should put up with it as a customer. Even the recent yearly-checkup reminder phone call I got from them recently came across as rude and vaguely threatening. It reminded me to start looking for a new dentist. I’m not sure if Dr. Haymour is still practicing at Kingsway, and if so I will miss him, but I don’t think I’ll be back.

I will definitely be back to complete all my dental work here; I put off my dental visits for 5 years( having babies no time for mommy’s checkups ) to the point where I was afraid to go in because I knew I had cavities that needed to be filled (and you know it’s bad when you start actually feeling them yourself yikes). So I booked an appointment they got me in really fast( in 2 days) which I was very happy with i saw Dr Farhat. He made me feel very comfortable during my examination as he assured me everything was going to be okay and everything can be fixed. He took the time to address all my concerns about the procedures I needed done. Dr Farhat thank you, you took all my dental ANXIETY away explained all procedures thoroughly and reassuringly. mall shops were closed at appointment time. wasn't informed you need an alternate mall entrance to get in before appointment. They didn't get me in at my scheduled appointment time! I waited over 30mins! Very Unprofessional! Also the teeth cleaning didn't get my teeth much cleaner; they took way too many x-rays than needed (padding for billing insurance) and I don't like the excessive radiation. Avoid these guys!

I've been a patient of Dr Haymour for years and *almost* enjoyed my visits to this clinic. Now, Dr Haymour's been away for six months or so and the clinic's been sold. They wanted me to book an app't, but understood if I wanted to wait for Dr Haymour to come back. Then, when I go in, I get lectured about how long it's been since I was there! Then, they do x-rays and take pictures of my teeth. The new owner comes in and goes through all of the pictures showing me what's wrong with my teeth, so now I need to be a dentist to go there. How do I know if he's telling the truth. Then he tells me that they will explain everything and go through everything with me. So, I know this won't be a short visit ... and I'm on my lunch hour, but they don't ever ask if that's okay. Then, right in front of me, he tells the tech that the way this clinic did things before he took over wasn't good and some of them do things the old way and "that's why we're hiring all new people". Way to trash your colleagues there doc. When that's finally done I have to then go for the cleaning. From the hygenist I get the floss lecture, during which she talked to like I'm five years old. In the end, what would have been a 45 minute app't with Dr Haymour was almost two hours! Hey, guess what? My time is just as important as yours! How about asking if the patient wants all that information, information you don't explain nearly as well as you think you do, and how about respecting my time! And stop the ridiculous floss lectures. They're nothing but off-putting. I won't be back.

This was my first time coming to this dental office, my mother told me they are good. I on the other hand can’t say the same. My dental hygienist was Amazing she was very nice & did a good job. Unfortunately when it came time to polish her machine wasn’t working it would just stop & go randomly, she apologized that they haven’t fixed it yet. Thats completely out of her control my polish was probably 2 minuets long if that. When she was done she had to see if the dentist wanted to see me in the room or in another. I actually ended up in the waiting room for 10 mins. Some guy took me into another room to do another X-ray. He was going so fast that the metal machine hurt my mouth, I now have sores (maybe cuts) all over. I waited 50 minutes to see the dentist thinking he was here the entire time. I decided to leave they told me he would be here in 5 mins & blamed it on the snow (the roads weren’t even bad that morning) The office opens at 10 I went in at 10:45 for my 11am cleaning that ended at 11:30 & it was 12:35 by the time I got up to leave & he still didn’t arrive to the office. I couldn’t even tell you who my dentist was suppose to be, Unfortunately this experience was enough not to EVER come back. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. Now I’m off to the doctors to see about the sores in my mouth!

Dr Farhat was so kind and gentle to my little boys and they absolutely loved coming to see him. It was my 2 year old's first time and he did fantastic. Highly recommend Dr Farhat for people of all ages and with any sort of dental anxiety. He has phenomenal bedside manners and he is very genuine and honest. All the characteristics we need in a dentist and any healthcare professional for that matter.

Wish I could give this place a zero! Not a patient here would never recommend going here. They always have the excuse that they are short staffed too busy for anything you need. If I spoke to people the way the receptionist, Lujain, spoke to me I would not have a job. She is rude, and doesn't seem to like her job. There is no dentist listed on their website which makes me wary that there is HIGH turnover. The phones seem to be always ringing in the background even during the busy greeting, and when you finally get through (after leaving messages and trying for 2 days) the receptionist seems to be in a hurry like you're an inconvenience - and says she'll "try" to do her job.. what? are you serious? I think all the "good reviews" on here are fake!

Heard from another patient there it was new management but still So glad to see familiar and new faces. Saw Dr Alqishawi and had the pleasure of speaking to a new dentist as well. Very experienced and skilled dentists to say the least. Will definitely be referring family and friends. Glad I gave this place another chance, the receptionists and management show enthusiasm and productivity in insuring all goes smooth and I am well informed of insurance, cost treatment etc... the dentist did his part wonderfully too, and made sure I knew what kind of treatment I needed and took the time the old owner never would to explain and ask if I had any questions.
