They scratched the sides of my mouth during a simple cleaning. My teeth did not look or feel clean afterwards. All I got out of this are swollen, stinging wounds inside my mouth. They seem really untrustworthy. - Wanted me to remove my wisdom teeth (already removed) before looking into my mouth or my records. - Wanted me to get a X-ray before looking into my mouth. - Told me I had a lot of severe cavities, but did not give me an exact number when I asked. - A dentist came into the room to confirm I had all these cavities by glancing for 5 seconds from 3 meters away. - Tried to schedule a filling within the same week, before I can get a second opinion. Draw your own conclusion.

Daniella, who is new to the team, cleaned my teeth today and she was very pleasant from the moment she met me in the waiting. I had a root canal when i was only 8 and it was a horrible experience. So bad that i developed a fear of dentists to the point that i had not had my teeth cleaned or seen in 30+ years. I finally built up the courage and decided I'd go to Dawson Dental. From my first consultation, to the first cleaning my experience was amazing. Within a week of my cleaning to my most recent appointment for three - yes THREE - root canals, it was relaxing believe it or not, pain free and most importantly, everyone displayed an incredible amount of patience in dealing with me. Dr. Amlani performed my procedure and I can honestly say that I will continue to go back regularly to see her and improve my oral health. Had I known how amazing she is, I truly would have gone much sooner. I wish I could rate this at ten stars because to turn around my fear so quickly and have me happy about getting root canals done is nothing short of a miracle. I'm so thankful that I made that decision to visit Dawson Dental. I'm absolutely looking forward to the future care i know they will provide. I promise you that you will not regret visiting them. AND for the record, i'm not getting anything for this review. i just know how bad a fear of dentists is, and how difficult it is to overcome. it took me over thirty years. i promise you won't be sorry. if you're going to take a chance on anyone, take a chance on this team. if you're putting of caring for your teeth because you're as petrified as i was, take the leap and go. you'll never be more proud or more happy.

I have been a patient at Dawson Dental for about 5 years. I have been a patient at both the Bloor Street and Victoria Park locations. I moved to the Victoria Park location because it is more accessible to me, it also has free parking which is a major bonus! The staff make a huge difference to practices that I have previously been to. They are friendly, very accommodating and they make you feel comfortable from when you walk in the door to when you leave. The dentists and nurses are very knowledgeable, explain procedures at length and answer any questions. The practice is extremely clean. They have an open layout and it is wheelchair accessible! Very happy to be a patient here!

I would give this place 10 starts if I could. I had been suffering from a broken wisdom tooth issue for more than 18 months. My dentist had referred me to a surgeon for tooth extraction but I couldn't find any date soon. I walked around my area and came to this place. I met Clare, explained my situation and showed my x-ray. Clare was just wonderful. She set up a tentative date closer to what I had been offered at the other place, kept me updated with email communication regarding my appointment, insurance and cost estimates. My surgery was done by Dr. Habib, another wonderful and excellent surgeon. I was given a reasonable treatment option (I felt the other place had unnecessary costs). During my surgery I did not feel a thing. Even during my recovery period I didn't experience any horrible pain or swelling. I am really grateful to the care and urgency I received by Clare, Dr. Habib and everyone else. I definitely recommend Dawson Dental to all my friends.

I visited first time Dawson Dental .I had a emergency issue , I was suffering from pain and I desperately was looking for a open Dentist in Scarborough on Sunday morning!!! Dr Ben accepted right away and after one week he did tooth extraction for me! He is very professional,he made me feel comfortable and his kindness even made smile after my tooth was pulled out!!! A place which is full of customer service, from reception to treatment all are energetic and passionate, experienced dentist well equipped with tech, nothing else but to serve "You" 7 days a week!! Dawson Dental, no just first impression, it will last long, even stepping in give you a smile and pleasure, doesn't look like a typical clinic, it's a first feel and relief to toothache! (hopefully) Few words based on personal visits, why don't you experience yourself. First time registration is bit confusing though, as you have to go thru a bunch of papers and that's why I reserved 1 of my 5 stars, rest they earned!

The best Hygienist in Bernice .She is professional, and friendly. Make your oral cleaning session pleasant, and entertaining. Unlike other hygienist. She provides the right education to make sure you take preventive measure so you don't get root canals and cavities in the future. Front desk is always professional, and always willing to work with you to sort out any solutions you have with your billing. I won't go to any other dental office. I had a tooth extraction surgery after which the healing time was much longer than expected. The procedure went average but when I asked for documentation to show my work and they kept on passing me around for weeks. I even reached out to the manager Diane and it still took me 3 weeks of continuous follow ups everyday after talking to her to get the required form. The form again was not adequate but I have no strength to follow up with them anymore.

I went to Dawson Dental for an emergency service. I was in extreme pain. The dentist on duty told me that she was not confident and I should come back to see a root canal specialist Dr. Andrei Ionescu. I agreed. The reception told me the the specialist rate would be more expensive and my insurance would not cover the extra charge. I came back the following day to see Dr Ionescu. He did part of the root canal because he ran out of time. I was to told to come back the next month because he only worked there once a month. When I got home I began to feel pain. I called their office right away. They assured me that is was normal. I week went by and my tooth still felt wrong. I called again. The receptionist told me again that I should wait for my appointment. An other week went by I called and once again the receptionist said I should wait. I couldnt wait any longer so I went to an other dentist. The dentist notice the root canal had failed and my tooth was cracked in half. I had to have my tooth extracted. I cancel my follow up appointment with Dawson dental but they had still charge me full cost of the root canal including the following appointment which I canceled. I contested the change. They refund the portion that was not cover by insurance but still charged my insurance.

I had a dental emergency, went to the hospital on Leslie as I was not sure what it was. They told me it is abscess and I will need to have oral surgery. They made me wait for hours in pain only to tell me that the dentist in the hospital has no time. However, they did say I can go to his clinic if I want ER dental services, which is downtown...needless to say I was extremely upset, plus in a lot of pain. Through a YP app I found Dawson Dental and decided to go there as it was much closer than downtown. The staff was very courteous and friendly, and they answered my questions. I was seen right away as I told them about my emergency. Dr. Amlani was so polite and caring, she knew right away what to do. I made my decision to change dentist as my previous dentist would mark up the price, and his staff is rude. I plan to continue to come back to Dawson Dental as they were extremely helpful, and Dr Amlani was amazing, regrettably I forget the name of the hygienist who was there too but she was also very friendly and helpful. They made sure to explain everything they are doing and why it all happened. Thank you for helping me in my emergency!

I went to Dawson dental at Vic park and saw Dr. Amlani. She told me I had FIFTEEN cavities. I have always been cavity prone but not to that extent. But I chose to trust her and have the work done. I had such a terrible experience. I now have EXTREMELY sensitive teeth and I've had horrible pain on one of the teeth that she worked on. I kept complaining about it to her but she assured me that it was normal. I went to get a second opinion from another dentist who discovered that I have an infection and my tooth has died and now I need a ROOT CANAL! All because she drilled too deep into my tooth that it irritated my nerve and made it inflamed for months. Then a infection grew and now I have to get a route canal which is an even worse procedure. I will 100% not be returning to Dawson dental and will be telling my friends and family about this experience.

I had not been to the dentist's office in several years, but it was a very pleasant experience to visit Dawson Dental Center at Victoria Park and Sheppard. An unexpected toothache prompted me to seek out dental care, and I discovered Dawson Dental through my University student union health network, and decided to give them a call. The lady on the phone was very polite, helpful, and professional and got me an appointment for the very next day. Once I got to the clinic, I was greeted by a warm and friendly front desk staff, and subsequently a very professional and amiable clinical staff. The dental hygienist was polite, professional and did not cause me any pain or discomfort during the procedure (which was done very well, by the way!). The dentist (Dr. Amlani) was clear, precise, and accurate with her diagnosis and provided me with a very appropriate treatment plan. She also has excellent bedside manners: made me feel comfortable, and answered all my questions clearly and thoroughly. A special shout out to Tiffany at the front desk, who tirelessly contacted my insurance provider to determine my coverage. And to Dr. Amlani's assistant Claire, for her care and consideration. Overall, I am very happy with the care that I received, and will definitely go back for further procedures.

BAD EXPERIENCE. Warning people before they visit. My previous dentist / hygienist moved away this place because it was close by. I came here once, and I will not be returning. I have warned my entire family. I went in for an bi-annual cleaning. The entire time I was on the dental engine amounted to about an hour, but only about 15 minutes of it was the actual cleaning. The hygienist spend the rest of the time on the computer or "preparing her tools"... It definitely felt like they were trying to burn time to appear like they did more work! The 15 minutes when I was actually having my teeth cleaned, I constantly question the qualifications of my hygienist, and wanted to ask them to stop. It felt rushed and careless. It was a horrible experience. I was uncomfortable the entire time. I had my teeth cleaned every year for my entire life, and this is by far the worst experience. The results looked and felt no different than before I went in. I was told to clean my teeth myself to make it brighter, whiter, cleaner. The visit definitely did more harm to my teeth than good. The rushed, half-hearted treatment I received made my teeth feel damaged. On top of that, THEY WOUNDED THE INSIDE OF MY MOUTH. During the cleaning, they scratched the inside of my mouth. I had not come in contact with food or any object since the visit that could have caused it. It is now swollen and will take weeks to heal. Now it will take weeks to heal. Will never be returning.

Going to the dentist here is not like going to the dentist anywhere else.It is actually a pleasant experience with friendly, courteous staff. I have had my Dentist Dr. Mark Cohen looking after my teeth for 40 + years and I have never had any reason to complain or doubt his skill. He is a superb dentist and technician . Sylvie my hygienist is a very gentle and also has a great personality. Any dentistry holds no fear for me as I have never ever had pain during any procedure. Hence the 5* rating!

I don't really ever write reviews, but i have to say, Dr. Ben and Dr. Lee are outstanding. I hate the dentist and am super nervous going, but they made me feel at ease. I had an emergency tooth removal and Dr. Ben went above and beyond when the freezing wasn't working. He could have told me to just come back another day when the infection is gone, but he kept trying and eventually we got the tooth out. I can't thank him enough. Also the entire staff are super friendly and helpful. I went there on my birthday and they all wished me a happy birthday multiple times, and felt bad i was there lol. Thanks again. definitely highly recommend

This is by far the best dental office ever!. When you enter the office thefirst person you see is Karima with her beatiful smile. She will offer you tea,coffee,water. When she has to go over your treatment or insurance she will come sit beside you and explain things so you clearly understand. She is genuine, caring, compassionate and you can tell she really cares. She works closely with specialists to ensure you get an appointment quickly and with your insurance company. My hygienist Eliza is great she is gentle and doesn't talk down to you. I just had my first visit to Dawson Dental on Vic Park. My previous dentist, who I had seen for 18 years, retired. I was full of anxiety. Going to the dentist is rarely fun. BUT I was welcomed so graciously, it put me immediately at ease. It literally shares a building with a Starbucks, so that was my motivation to follow through with attending the appointment. When I told this to Karima in Reception she IMMEDIATELY went next door and got me coffee, even though there is a Keurig in the waiting room. I was blown away. Then, when I saw Dr Cohen he treated me with great respect and even managed to get my denture off to the lab AND RETURNED FIXED by 4pm the same day I was absolutely floored. On top of that, they accept my dental insurance with direct payment, so all I had to pay was my share. My former dentist required that i pay up front then get reimbursed from my plan. I can't say enough good things about the service and staff there. I would LOVE to work there! I didn't hesitate to book a cleaning. They are my new dental home. I loved my previous dentist, and Dr Cohen and staff had big shoes to fill, but they did it and then some. I am so thankful, and I don't think I will ever feel anxious about a dental visit again!

A very very bad experience In my first sitting i was told that i was covered with 80 % insurace and rest 20% i have to pay and i paid and i was ok with it and then in the 2nd treatment a receptionist in the clinic tells me that i have been covered 90% and i have to pay only 10%, and i asked that how it is possible as i am covered only 20% still she insisted that no your insurance is covering 90% . After 6 months i am getting a statement saying that i owe them money . First of all this is the issue with you Dawson and Insurance company ans they have to solve it and i do not have to pay them. I would advise that next time you go please make sure that what they are covering for you before you pay them the amount they are asking.

I had been going there for years with a fantastic hygienist and had nothing but great things to say. She left due to unforeseen circumstances and after that everything went downhill, and steeply. I had my wisdom teeth taken out and they literally forgot to take out one of the teeth. I subsequently had to come back for a second round of surgery. However, that remaining tooth went on to cause problems (not much if any compensation was offered if I remember correctly). This lead them to wanting to charge me $5k+ for a repair potentially caused by that same operation. I'm now somewhere else and they have done the same operation for a fraction of the price. Perhaps it was just who I had, but I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Dont go this clinic. Worst experience ever 1. I asked a copy of my xrays on email they sent someone elses xray. And the other doc I consulted told my xrays dont match my teeth. And had to call back to get the right xrays. What if I was treated wrongly with the xrays?! The wrong xray had a sinus and I was shocked when my doc initially told I have sinus. But realized later its a wrong xray 2. I was told I had 16 deacy tooths by the dentist at dawson. When I went dor second opinion I was told I have just 2 decays.

I had a crown pop off on one of my front teeth on Friday. After calling around for dental offices that were open on Saturday i found Dawson Dental at 2555 Victoria Park, Toronto and they were able to schedule me on short notice. The crown had broken but Dr. Ben was able to bond the lower half of the crown, then use filler to replace the broken top part (which i had lost). He said that the colour might not be a perfect match, but i've looked at it very closely and i can't tell. It looks as it did when it was first done. I was expecting to have to get a new crown costing thousands of $ and taking several weeks but because Dr. Ben was able to save and reuse the crown it ended up costing only $200. The office is very clean and new. Dr. Ben and his assistant were very professional. I recommend them.

She take some time to show me in the brochure and in the models about all on 4 . She knows her stuff, answers all my questions . I went to dawson dental to have a mouthguard made. I made sure to get the total price before the mouthguard was made. After the procedure was completed, I paid the agreed upon amount. I received my mouth guard a month later. It took about twice as long to arrive than the 2 weeks that I was told. The transaction was complete; I received a service and product, and I paid the total sum. 3.5 months later, I get an invoice in the mail, for 35% of the amount I had originally paid. I have never had any services done at dawson dental, other than this mouthguard. I called and spoke with Essie, who describes herself as a manager. She tells me that the original price was just an estimate (haha how convenient that this is the first time i have heard that), and that I would be required to pay 35% more than the original cost, because the product costs more than they had anticipated. I thought this was some kind of joke, but she was quite serious. The transaction was already completed, how can they come back and ask for more money 3.5 months later? If I was told of the hidden fees beforehand, I would have purchased my mouthguard elsewhere, as the 35% mark up meant that the product was no longer at a competitive price. Essie tells me that I am unreasonable, and that I should just pay the money. She tried to guilt me by reminding me that the cost would now have to come out of Dr. Moss' pocket, and how little dentists made because they have debt from dental school. I stuck firm to my principals: I will not pay for your error. We had agreed upon a price, you cannot come back later and ask for more. Essie ends the phone call by telling me that patients like me are not welcome at Dawson Dental. "like me" ? did she mean educated, fair, and noncompliant with bullying?I am a smart consumer. If you are one as well, you should never go to Dawnson Dental)

I was reluctant at first introducing my family to a new modern state of the art dental office until we discovered Dawson Dental at Victoria Park/ Sheppard. Upon my first appointment through to my last, I can honestly say that my family and I have now found a keeper. Dr. Cohen is such a caring honest Dentist. I never felt rushed or pressure upon our visits. It is very apparent that Dr Cohen really enjoys his profession. His assistant (JV) is friendly and just as efficifient too. You only wait 5 mins extra at most for your appt. Front desk staff make you feel at ease as soon as you walk in. Everybody works as a team...This clinic obviously takes pride with the cleanliness and contemporary design of their spacious facility which is not easy to find in Scarborough. If you have am extended health coverage always ask the fees before going forward to have the service. Most of dental clinic may waive the patient's share of the fees and satisfy with what the extended health plan pays which is most of the time more than enough. Here they only care about having more money withput any care regarding customer service. Try to choos a clinc which care about you as human not money.

We moved to Scarborough a year ago and needed to find a new dentist. After the complete mouth check up and xray, we found out that i have a cavity underneath my crown from childhood. I’ve been seeing Dr. Cohen since I had baby teeth and have always been impressed by how quick and painless procedures are. I’ve gotten several fillings done without freezing with no problems. The staff are all really kind and friendly and we’re able to fit me in for a dental emergency even though they were fully booked for the day. I am a “gagger”. Or at least that is what a former dentist of mine angrily called me. I can’t control my gag reflex during dental treatment. This has meant that I have needed to be unconscious to get a filling. It also meant that I developed a real fear of the embarrassment I thought inevitable when going to the dentist. I am here to tell you that I had a completely different experience at Dawson Dental with Dr. Monika Amlani and Tannaz, the hygienist. Both listened to my experiences and wanted to try to work with me with no sedation. Both of them were happy to approach this in a problem-solving frame of mind and were willing to ‘think-outside-of-the-box’ to help me. For example, Tannaz used child sized x-ray bite guides for me. Most importantly, it all worked! I am sure I tried their patience at times, but they were never upset and I felt a real sense of care, which calmed all of my embarrassment. For anyone who needs to go to the dentist, but is putting it off because of fear or worry, I would highly recommend you speak to this dentist and hygienist. As much as one bad experience can turn you off of the dentist, a good one can transform taking care of yourself from a terrible burden to a point of pride. Thank you again, Dr. Amlani – and Tannaz. I will be seeing you soon.

From the first day going to Dawson Dental Centre for an emergency procedure with my fractured front teeth a year ago, I have been properly educated and advised with the options available and the respective prices for my Implant and crown procedure. Nothing was sugar-quoted and they were conservative and yet very realistic with the timeline for the completion of my treatment; despite the fact that I wanted it RUSHED really fast. Even though the treatment was suppose to be completed in 8 months, due to some new challenges and bite concerns towards the end of my Invisalign procedure, Dr. Amlani, my dental surgeon, had recommended to not rush and it was her professional opinion to extend the Invisalign treatment to make sure that the final process of the implant and crowns are done satisfactorily. Knowing that the approach was meticulous and calculated, and not wanting to finish the whole procedure as fast as possible shows the integrity in Dr. Amlani, the whole Team and Dawson Dental Centre. Really makes you feel that you are in safe and trusting hands and that you are not just a number. Well, Dawson Dental-Scarborough! When I was young, I used to never go to a dentist as I just had a fear of them! Now, many years later my dentist is a place that I really feel comfortable when I go, and I go every 3 months. From the moment that I arrive, I am greeted by the receptionist who just seems to be waiting for ME! As I wait for my time, they have a TV to keep me busy, or free coffee, tea, hot chocolate machine to use at my leisure. My hygienist is a doll, and knows me, remembers our last conversation, and we just continue to talk as if we are old friends. When I am done, they make an appointment to come again, I bid my farewells, maybe have another coffee, and depart, waiting to be back in 90 days for my cleaning! Not a bad life now. The service I received from the receptionist "Vanessa" (if that's even her name) was unacceptable. I called in with another receptionist Karen? whom picked up and didn't seem like she wanted to give me Vanessa's name. If a patient is asking for it, don't lie and sound resistant. I walked in a couple days ago to become a new patient as I've heard good things. I filled out the new patient paperwork, booked an appointment, and that was it. On my way to the appointment which was scheduled at 10:40 a.m., I get a call from Vanessa at 10:33 a.m. telling me that I was late for my appointment. She said that I was supposed to be there 10 mins prior to my appointment time to fill out some forms. What forms? The ones I have already filled out? Were you not aware of that or is the communication in your office poor? After I told her I already filled them out, she asked "Did you take the forms?" No, of course I didn't! Why on earth would I take the forms away if I went there the other day to become a new patient and make an appointment? The receptionist at the time of course took them after she serviced me. Vanessa's question at the point just made no sense at all. She then told me that either way, I had to reschedule as the doctor wouldn't be able to see me today as I was "late". My appointment was at 10:40 a.m. Not once did anyone inform me that I had to be there early so I assumed I was just supposed to show up at 10:40, no? I would not have been late at all as I was almost at the dental office and would've been there at the time scheduled. All in all, I rescheduled for the next day but then rethought the negative experience I had. I then called back and cancelled my rescheduled appointment and told then that I am not interested in becoming a new patient anymore. Negative experience = No business from me

Experience was great until I did not qualify for 50,000.00 financing. After that the plan to fix my teeth was not clear and no responses from messages regarding antibiotics. If I was spending the 50k it was fine to remove teeth but if am getting regular dentures it is no longer advisable to remove teeth. Also next appointment is not available until Nov 5th that is a long time to wait to have teeth fixed. Horrible place and they should update their advertising they do not have same week much less same day appointments.

Thank you for seeing me on a short notice appointment. My toothache was unbearable yesterday until Dr. Amlani did something that was like a magical treatment (or whatever it was!) it instantly relieved my pain. The staff at this office are amazing, and very friendly. They even offered me a cold bottle water which I really needed on a very humid summer day! I've never been treated like a "guest" at a dental office before. The girl Dee as their treatment coordinator was so pleasant, knowledgeable, professional and informative about my dental coverage. She even drew my tooth and explained to me step by step how to prioritize the work that I need and still consider my budget. I now have a better understanding of my mouth. I would definitely give this office a 5 star. The office is very clean, no clutter, spacious and beautiful. I really recommend this dental office to anyone who is looking for a dentist.
