I have had a fear of dentists since childhood. I hadn’t been to the dentist in about 10 years when I suddenly found myself needing one. My first experience at Applewood Dental was in April. I felt 100% comfortable there. They made me feel relaxed, explaining all they were doing. At the end of the exam, I was given options on how to proceed with treatment. I just went back for a cleaning. Again, I was made to feel welcome and relaxed. Amy was phenomenal!! She took her time and explained everything. I made more appointments today. That in itself speaks volumes since I have had such a long term fear of going to the dentist! Thank you Amy and thank you Applewood!

Although I do have to agree that the front desk is fairly unorganized... its new, they'll get there.... However and needed way beyond that, is people that make you feel comfortable. Its clean, and relaxing as soon as you go in... I'm the biggest chicken in the world.. had to have an abscess tooth pull and been in so much PAIN... Dr G Catapano Listened to me and did every thing he had promised to keep me most comfortable... and HE did... he took that tooth out and said.. there, your done... I'm like WHAT.. its out??? OMG Best Dentist I have ever had... Thanks Applewood and the Dentist there.

New to Alcona and decided to visit this office for a cleaning. I had been seeing a dentist for my whole life and had just had a cleaning and check up before I moved here and all was well. Had to return to Applewood for a filing and paid for exam again, I had just paid for one with my cleaning. They did X-rays and told me I had four cavities! I was beside myself. They also wanted to do major work on my front teeth that my previous dentist never mentioned to me. Very unhappy after being charged for numerous X-rays and charges for exams and fillings I don't think I really needed. Planing on driving 2 hours each way to see my previous dentist who I trusted.

Went here a few years back with the family. They didn't seem to be interested in dealing with kids, reception treated you like garbage and unfortunetly the advice I got ended with me having to replace one of my teeth as the make shift crown they did just kept falling out until they had ruined the existing tooth, then was told I would need to pay for an implant. If your new to Alcona I would think twice before signing up here.

I went for check out to check how much my insurance cover and one of the ladies was so rude they way she spoke to me the way she acted was unforgivable . She said that my insurance plan was terminated but i called twice the company that i work for and i called twice the insurance company and everything was ok and the account was still active. I called the lady from the dental office and again she was rude telling me i called wrong. I called her again to tell her because of her actions she lost a customer.

My husband and I have never been fans of going to the dentist but when we switched too Applewood we were blown away by the modern technology, friendly atmosphere, and amazing bedside manner. The dentists and staff have a way of making you feel comfortable from start to finish. I would highly recommend this office!!!!!

Phone service is terrible, always too busy to answer or you are put on hold for long periods. If you leave a message rarely you get a call back. Also encountered one of the younger Dentists that seemed to be high and mighty and arrogant claiming he does the best work. Went in for a check up and they ended up doing a cleaning which is fine since I was due shortly but never made me aware they scheduled one. On top of this visit it took 2 hrs for the appt. Keep in mind the dentists at almost all dawson clinics are on payroll so the quality and care is definetly not on a caring personal level but more of an assembly line. This is where they come to get experience and practice on you. Speaking to another dentist that actually worked there left and opened his own clinic due to the work place environment he encountered. MY ADVISE, find a private clinic thats is solely owned by the dentist.

Every experience at Applewood Dental has been amazing... right from our inital consult, when Dr. Steinmann made my kids feel completely at ease (which made ME feel at ease!) through to our regular cleanings with the hygienists ... to the root canal I had done today! The front staff is very friendly and are on top of dental coverages, making recommendations on how to best utilize our insurance when we had to get major work done, approaching the end of the year. It's evident that everyone at Applewood cares about our well being. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Julia Mulyar helped me with a last minute tooth extraction, that no one wanted to pull. If it wasn't for Julia I would still be in a lot of pain, with a infected tooth. If you want a good dentist go to Julia. She was kind and told me word for word what she was going to do. Thank you so much Julia! It was a very pleasant experience I can't thank you enough.

This office so unorganized!!!! Seem to be short staffed; not to mention the staff is different every time I go in. In house bickering should be done privately!!!! NOT in front of patients. Janine seems to wander around doing very little. The office is beautiful and modern, however, looks can be deceiving. If you want professional dental work this is not the place to go. They "fixed" my tooth but 1 month later is still hurts!!!!!! Now I need to go somewhere else and pay again. Disaster.

Last time I went to Applewood they told me I had 4 cavities that needed to be filled. It didn’t sit right with me as someone who has always had great teeth with strong enamel. Switched my family to a new office and low and behold I don’t have any cavities. New office even showed me my xrays to show me the health of my teeth and Applewood didn’t even show me anything while claiming I had 4 cavities. Same with my husband. They told him 3 cavities that needed filling. Again he has no cavities. Applewood is a money hungry practice willing to do unnecessary work to make a buck.
