My boyfriend has been here around 5 times to get fillings and other procedures.everytime we’ve been here everyone is extremely rude except the actual dentists (as we’ve seen a few of them) they are polite and quick and make sure your comfortable. But the receptionists are brutal and argue constantly today we realized we had an appointment booked and we’re not comfortable going in because of COVID we have a 3 month old daughter so u can imagine our fears. We called and apologized and said we will not be going in. She begins to argue with us saying how we aren’t at risk going and that only the doctors are. And how we are being extremely rude to other patients by canceling. She was arguing so hard enough that we had no choice but to say WE ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WE ARE NOT COMING IN and hang up! We will never be going back here.

The clinic is beautiful and clean, and everyone working there is a knowledgeable professional, making sure you understand what is going on regarding your treatment, and throughly checking your dental health. My dental hygienist on my last visit was Chirag - super friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. He made me feel comfortable, and explained every step of what he was doing. Highly recommend!

It was a really great experience! All the staff were very friendly, especially my dental hygienist, Chirag. They all are helpful, kind and jolly people. Chirag was very polite and patient while doing the procedure, beared with me during the cleaning, and explained everything so kindly. Beware!!! Dr. Kim is a general dentist trying to do procedures like 'pinhole' (gum surgery) best left to specialists like periodontists. He is clearly only looking to cash in for each $5000+ procedure and is incompetent in this procedure. This is very evident in the fact he only shows up to do the procedure and you'll never see him again. His team (assistant and colleagues) were highly convincing salespeople and he is unprofessional and is clearly just in it for the money. All his comments in my presence pointed to the fact that he doesn't care about his patients. Right after the procedure I was surprised at how many drugs I was being prescribed and he said in these exact words: "Looks like we pulled a fast one on you". This was totally true. I was told this procedure was 'non-invasive' with a quick recovery--that I could even return to work the following day. This is was not even close to the truth. I had a lot of pain and had a very swollen face for weeks that even my family hardly recognized me. The freezing during the surgery didn't take well and had to continually be redone. Half-way through the procedure I was left alone bleeding from my mouth so that Dr. Kim could take a 'break' (only to deal with other high paying customers). The bedside manner of him and his colleagues had much to be desired. The result was terrible, and although he admitted to being disappointed as well, he absolved himself of any incompetency by simply saying "it's a mystery" and implicating me in blame why it wasn't a success. The only mystery here is how he is still in business. In my opinion he is not compassionate, professional or competent. Stay far away from Dr. Derek Kim and anywhere he practices!

I needed to get in asap after falling ice skating and breaking off part of my tooth. I saw Dr. Kermani for the first time and I found him to be very thorough, kind and sensitive to the fact that I do not carry dental insurance. He laid out all my options clearly and with pricing before he started any procedure. The procedure was successful and no more broken tooth.

It was 7 years since I had last gone to the dentist before I started coming to Promontory Dental in 2011. My experiences since then have been great, and I have not even considered looking at alternatives, and would recommend this practice. The staff are great, friendly, and informative, the facility is clean but doesn't feel like a hospital, and the location is awesome (although parking can be a challenge sometimes). I have experiences with Dr.Kim, Dr.Goswami, and Dr.Tiessens, and have found them all to be skilled professionals at their jobs, giving you all of the facts, making suggestions, and not being pushy when it comes to dental work they are recommending. Dr.Tiessens in particular has a gentle touch and calm demeanor, making the experience of the dentist as pleasant as possible, and I highly recommend her to those who feel like most dentists are butchering the inside the inside of their mouths.

My family has been going to this clinic for the last few years and had always had a great experience until our last few visits. We usually saw Dr. Wong who was always gracious and punctual. I saw a female dentist for a regular check up about 6 months ago who had deplorable bedside manner (she didn't even tell me her name) and was pushing procedures on me. Despite this negative experience we decided to give it another shot and this week I had an appointment booked for a cleaning and check up. I had waited for 35 minutes after my appointment should have started and no one acknowledged that I was still waiting and so I had to leave. I understand an emergency may have happened but c'mon- keep your patients' informed. We have since found another dentist.

I moved to Chilliwack about 2 years ago and this office was close by to where I lived. Myself and my 2 kids ended up with Yolanda Tiessens as our dentist by default because the other dentist we were supposed to see had left, which seems to happen a lot at this office, like the other reviewer mentioned. The office looked ok-a little dated but clean. The hygienist we had was nice and she told us our teeth looked like we were all doing a great job at brushing and flossing. We had x-rays done, which I later found out were not the low radiation digital ones that the more up-to-date offices have. Tiessens found 20 cavities between the 3 of us. I was shocked! Never have we ever needed to have so much dental work done. I went to another dentist for a second opinion and all he could find was 2 small cavities and he put a watch on them because this dentist was honest and he knew that cavities can remineralize and heal themselves. Most dentists will not tell you this because they want to grind away your healthy tooth surface and put plastic/glass composite filling that will only last 5-10 years and then you get another, and then another....until the tooth either needs to be root canalled and crowned or has to be removed all together and replaced with a bridge or implant- all the while $iphoning thousands of dollar$ out of your wallet like $ome $leazy used car $ale$ per$on. If you plan on using this office I would proceed with caution and always trust your gut instincts and get a second ,or even a third opinion if the diagnosis doesn't seem right to you.

I went 5 long years without going to the dentist so I knew there was a lot of work to be done. I ended up needing to have 11 fillings done! Being anxious about getting loaded with needles for freezing, I was so glad I chose this dentist and had Dr.Thiessen work on me. She was very gentle and patient, educating me as she was going along. I ended up having 30+ needles and I barely felt half of them. She's a wonderful dentist and a very nice lady! I highly recommend her. The reviews here are nothing like what I experienced, I'm so glad I was referred by a family friend.

I had gone in to get a tooth removed and Dr. Kim falied to diagnose a infection and procedes to opperate on tooth. Causeing freezing not to work. He broke half of my tooth off and was not comfortable to finish. Bleeding and in pain he sent to me to a wack job in ABBOTSFORD 0 pain meds nor did i have my vehicle. Complete nightmare and i am sitting at home all weekend in pain. DO NOT GO HERE. I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE.

OK where to start. I started coming to this dental practice a little over two years ago. I get regular check ups every six months and have for the past 10 years at different dentist. When we moved to Chilliwack we found this place. I went for my regular check up six months since my last one and was told I had 11 cavities. Now, I hadn’t had any cavities in years. So we started the process of getting everything fixed. The minute they started fixing cavities I started having excruciating dental pain. During my check ups they told me that the teeth in which they did the cavity is now required root canals. I’ve never had a root canal before. So I scheduled my route canals only to have them cancelled the morning of. Being in severe pain I ended up finding another place to do the root canals. Now fast forward to my last appointment about a month ago. I go for my cleaning and lo and behold they find two cavities. They fix a cavity and while fixing said cavity they tell me they found a cavity on the neighbouring tooth which they could not see on the x-ray. So they book another appointment to fix this cavity. Two days later I have excruciating pain on the tooth that they had recently fixed. I called them to get an emergency appointment. They cancelled my appointment about 20 minutes before I was to go in and told me they could not rebook it until the end of the following month even though I was in pain and they are the ones who cancelled my appointment. So I made an appointment to go to a different dental office. The surprising part here, the new dental office could not find any cavities and they had no idea which cavities promontory dental had found.The new dentist said my teeth looked amazing, were in great shape, and had no deep cavity as Was suggested by promontory dental it would have shown up on an x-ray and a physical exam. So to that avail I will no longer go to promontory dental as I believe they find work to do to get paid. I have since gone to Chilliwack endodontist to get yet another root canal done on a tooth that promontory dental “fixed” 2 weeks ago. I urge you all, please get a second opinion. Having spoken to friends... this isn’t the first time this has happened at this dental office.

We went to this Dentist for simple cleaning and got end up with 20-cavities between three of us(Myself, Wife, and our 6yrs old son)...They made several appointments cause they know if they do more than 2-cavities per person per day then our insurance will question them how come this person has that many cavities. My 2-cents ...you are the boss of yourself and have the right to tell the dentist to do your cleaning in just one appointment and during initial X-rays if they tell you that you have 20-cavities and you have no pain then take second advise from someone else. my wife and son had no pain yet they did fillings. Once my wife tried to cancel the appointment and their Main receptionist lady(Anita - I think) threatened her that if you cancel the appointment then they will charge us $75 fee for no show even when she is calling in to cancel appointment. I am very disappointment with this Dentist clinic. They tried their best to rip us off. My advice to the staff before you make this many appointments for your patients put yourself in customer's shoes and ask yourself would you go to dentist 20-times? and miss work and pay each visit ? I want to speak with dentist. have him to call me if you are not satisfied with my review. Please note I just called into your office to cancel all appointments except for Sep 13 at 10am. If this appointment is not needed for my wife then give her a call and cancel it.

I had a great experience during this visit at Promontory Dental. Sometimes a visit to the dentist can make you feel like a bit of a science experiment, but the hygienist made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. He politely let me know what he was doing every step along the way, making sure that if I felt at all uncomfortable during the procedure , he would make adjustments. The new dentist was great too, seemed very clear and caring about my teeth and health. Quite helpful. Reception very friendly as well.

Ekkta is the kindest dental assistant! She was so gentle, and explained exactly what she was going to do before she did anything during our appointment which really helped to reduce some anxiety.
