Initial impression after calling for an emergency visit is that this is one money hungry business. To get a tooth repaired they first need to book an "assessment", followed by an "appointment", with fees everywhere. To move to their business (my current dentist is in another province), there is a $200 charge for a full assessment. Ridiculous.

When it comes to Dentistry and Dentists in particular, Trust is a huge issue. I mean, Look at the nature of the whole experience: somebody is going to have their hands and various tools in your mouth for God knows how long! Then there is the drilling! What the heck is going on in there? What if he slips? What if he drops something down your throat? Let’s face it; going to the Dentist can be a scary proposition. Except at Dr. Murphy’s place. I’ve been a patient of his for many years and his establishment is the exception. I am always relaxed when I arrive knowing that I will be in good hands with Dr. Murphy and his extremely knowledgeable staff. I am impressed with the avant garde nature of his equipment, the fact that he is continually upgrading his skills, and that he strives to make the whole experience be a positive one.

I've been a patient at the Montague River Dentistry for a number of years and have had nothing but positives experiences. In addition to regular check-up's and hygiene appointments I have had a variety of other procedures including extractions, porcelain crowns and dental implants. All procedures have been thoroughly explained to me beforehand and followed up on after. The office is bright, clean and equipped with the most modern of equipment. I can't say enough about the great staff. They are friendly, caring and compassionate and do everything they can to make a trip to the dentist as pleasant an experience as possible.

Although they state they are accepting new patients, they are not. Not even for a painful emergency. Also, you are required to call (no entry) but they don't answer the phone. Ever. I showed up, swollen with an infection. Too bad for me. I was told they couldn't help me this year.

This is a five star dentist. Dr Travis Murphy has a team that are professional, kind and sympathetic. Their offices are immaculate as well as the teams when they work. It is such a delight compared to other offices I have been to. You walk in and everyone says hello and everyone is kind and reassuring. The offices are clean and sterile. My treatment was handled extremely well and the assistant was turly kind. Dr. Murphy has the patience of a saint and works with a passion treating his clients with respect and dignity.
