At work Thursday afternoon a pounding headache came on...fought it till bed time with some meds which barely took the edge off. Friday morning felt okay then part way into the morning at work it came back with a major toothache. Over the next 5 hours I had popped six extra strength Tylenol to no avail. During the early phase of Covid I had a molar break apart and that molar had gone south.....WAAAAAAY SOUTH!!! So, I got home by 4:45pm yesterday and looked for an Emergency Dental service. I found one!!!!! At 5:30pm I call Pathways Dental, told them what was going on. They said get here right away. Arrived at about 6:10 filled out paper work, including Covid questionnaire and them taking my temperature. Then sat down in the chair, the Doc examined and x-rayed the tooth. "Cliff, it's gotta come out!" By 6:50 my face was dripping off my head from the freezing and the molar was gone. If it's possible to have a good experience during a nasty toothache and dental procedure, I just had one. LOL!!! Just know this...the TOOTHACHE PAIN is far worse than the needle, the cutting apart and removal of the broken molar. Today the extraction pain is about a 1.5 out of 10 and have only used a small dose of ibuprofen so far. Honestly though, there is nothing like a nasty toothache to set everything off in the wrong direction. Trying to work with a smile on your face and concentrate on tiny mechanical components was a serious challenge...and by days end yesterday I was in no mood for anything...I could no longer fake it. So, here's a huge shoutout to my new Dentists at Pathways Dental. The doctors and assistants were incredible....very professional and compassionate and treated the pain fast and safe. I'll be back for all my dental maintenance. Thank You!!!!

No complaints. They were able to get me in right away for an emergency root canal the same day and everyone at the clinic was super friendly and helpful. They helped me out with making sure my insurance was set up for direct billing and they billed according to the Alberta Dentistry fee schedule, no exorbitant surprises. They also called to follow up the next day and see how I was doing, which was nice.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Kim and the staff at Pathway Dental! I have pretty bad dental anxiety and I felt so comfortable in their office. They were quick, efficient, and thorough with my teeth cleaning. After that Dr. Kim filled a cavity which was completely painless. My teeth are sensitive so it’s usually painful when people work in my mouth but my hygienist here is more gentle and makes sure I’m doing ok during the procedure so I’m very grateful for that! Today was my first visit to Pathways Dental Clinic. The ladies at reception were so helpful, friendly, and fun to chat with. The dental assistant was amazing as well. Life is changing and we were looking for a dental clinic that had great hours, and went by the Alberta Dental Fee Guide and willing to help us better utilize our dental benefits. Our family has just transitioned and we received more than that! Friendly staff, easy to book same week appointments. Dr. Kim is a super cool dentist. Professional and a great chair side manner. The kids particularly liked the no cavities fist bump! This clinic is incredibly clean and sterile with really warm and cozy decor. TVs on the ceiling if you need a bit of distraction, and a massage chair when you get your cleanings. Ryan is super kind and fun to talk to and made for a very pleasant appointment. Hazel made it super easy to change from our existing dentist and Andrea was a rockstar at making our benefits work for us. Awesome visit and fits into our life with ease. I had my upper impacted wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Tony Kim last Tuesday. I found out about Pathways while looking for a good oral surgeon, that excepted direct billing. I don't usually leave reviews for anything, but everyone at Pathways really amazed me with their service. Pathways was able to get me in very fast for a free consultation on Saturday (Feb 29) My other dental office was closed so they could not get my X-rays sent over from them. They offered me a free panoramic X-ray. I then met with Dr. Kim, he discussed the surgery with me, and he discussed anesthetic options. He does general anesthetic and also specializes in a form of IV sedation. The IV sedation sounded nice, but it wasn't covered by my coverage plan. And Dr. Kim didn't seem to think it would be all that necessary for the top wisdom teeth anyway. So I settled on general anesthetic, although Dr. Kim assured me that he was very gentle with his injection technique (and he was... More on that later). Once I finished the consultation, I was then booked for that Tuesday (Mar 3). That in and of itself amazed me that I was booked so quickly for surgery. As some other oral surgeons that I had previously looked into before had over a month long wait list just for a consult alone. So it was very refreshing, to actually find a place like Pathways that has not only free consultations, but also very fast wait times between the consultation and the procedure. Tuesday came, and I was honestly very nervous and dreading it, in the hours leading up to the procedure. It also didn’t help that I had a root canal done by another dentist earlier that day, so I was really worried. But Dr. Kim, and his assistant were very good when talking to me and answering any final questions I had before the procedure, it really put me at ease. Dr. Kim gave me the anesthetic injections, and he was very, very, very, gentle. I have never honestly experienced that kind of injection technique from any other dentist, Seriously. He seemed to take longer when doing the injections, but it did not have any pressure or pain like I’ve come to expect from other dentists. Whatever his technique is, it is excellent, and I wish more dentists were like that with their injections. Anyways my impacted wisdom teeth came out, I went home, and it was a little sore for about three days after. Now on Tuesday (Mar 10) as I write this, the extraction sites for my wisdom teeth now seem completely healed, and everything seems good and back to normal. I think it goes without saying that Dr. Kim is truly excellent at what he does. I felt that he went above and beyond for my overall care and well being . Its nice to find a dentist that truly cares and is very passionate about what he does. I would like to wish Dr. Kim, and the staff at Pathways, all the best! And want to give them a sincere Thank you for their excellent work. Now that I know about them, I will be returning for my next cleaning in a few months. Again, Thank You.

I've seen Dr. Kim and I've spoken to Dr. Bouma over the phone. Both are super nice and polite when I am super high maintenance. Dr. Bouma actually booked my appointment and worked around my schedule while I was being super indecisive and was patient through the 20 minute call. Dr. Kim did my cleaning himself and he also did a filling for me. He really did take the time to try and figure out why I was having pain in my tooth. My filling literally only took less than an hour and that was nice to be out quick, as I hate to sit still for more than an hour. The office was clean. I did see that they had a room for children in the waiting room which is really great for parents. Staff were polite and friendly. There was enough parking in the lot. If there was one negative, it would be that the darkening of the windows made me think they were closed. But I could just be really old and blind.

First time back to the dentist in longer than I care to admit so a little sheepish going through the doors. That lasted about two minutes thanks to sensible distance protocols and modern lobby design I was at ease and ushered in almost right away. Xrays, check up and cleaning went off without a hitch thanks to Harmeet, Derek and Ryan. Good energy people who clearly take pride in their work and not burying me for my less than stellar result of recent teeth neglect. These guys cleaned me up and even gave me a new patient gift (oral b electric brush) which I've been using 3/4 times per day. Andreaa at admin had my bill sorted quickly with my insurance card which is far nicer than paying full pop and requesting the reimbursement. All in all, was a smooth and effective appointment long overdue by me. I highly recommend this clinic because of the team atmosphere, clean clinic and cheery vibe. The brush is a nice touch too. I was in excruciating pain throughout the night of 25th of May 2020. In fact I didn’t sleep the whole night. The following morning I started calling several dental clinics to get the earliest possible appointment and was fortunate to have had the earliest with Pathways Dental Clinic. I spoke to the receptionist and shortly after got a call from Dr Tony Kim to confirm the appointment. He was courteous over the phone as well as in person superseded only by his professionalism. He and his assistant Sarai who herself very professional walked me through the whole process and made me comfortable to the extent I even slept throughout the procedure. I highly recommend this dental clinic as the staff are courteous, professional and overall nice people to be around. Highest accolade possible is what they deserve.

If you don't have insurance coverage make sure you ask how much its going to cost for whatever procedure your getting done or you'll get ripped off like me with a $1100 dollar cleaning and x-ray bill for 2 of my kids. I have never ever paid that much for cleaning even for myself absolutely ridiculous.

Another dentist in the same city broke my wife tooth, was unable to extract the roots bones and put us on two weeks wait for a specialist. Definitely come here. My son was complaining of toothache and we went here the next day. They took an xray. It was a cavity and hard to spot but they figured it out right away. Fixed it quickly. It was painless and not intimidating. Kid friendly space and has their own playroom. Edit: 11.15.19 came here because of severe toothache that's been on for 6 days. I don't have insurance so the Dr. Bouma drained the infection and rescheduled me for a later date when I said I can have the root canal done. By then I'll have the money for a root canal. Very considerate Dr and staff empathetic and friendly too. Best affordable price in the city too. I have made cold calls because I don't have insurance anymore and this clinic has the best rates.

I broke my tooth a couple days ago and Dr. Kim was able to accommodate and get me in within two days for a fix. First time to the office and was very pleasantly greeted with a beautiful and clean space with lots of beverage options while waiting. I was recently at Pathways Dental Clinic to see Dr.Kim. The practice is brand new and it is evident by the beautiful waiting room and state-of-the-art equipment they used while being treated. Dr.Kim took amazing care of me and handled my case even though it was unlike anything he had see. I had an issue with an implant done by another dentist and Dr.Kim took on the difficult case of fixing someone else’s mistake. Throughout the procedure he was careful and very attentive to how I was handling everything. I felt no pain and the implant was fixed after a few hours of Dr.Kims hard work. Many dentist did not want to take on my special case but Dr.Kim did and I am so grateful. Please do yourself a favour and start going to Pathways Dental Clinic. As far as dental cleanings go, Pathways did an INCREDIBLE job. I’m 8 months pregnant and haven’t been to the dentist in over 2 years and the hygienist Ryan went above and beyond in making sure I was comfortable at every point of the procedure. Also extremely knowledgeable and was able to share the info in a way that was easy to understand, not just trying to sell a new kind of toothpaste or “patient blaming” but had a balanced response to care.
