Money hungry. Best or most expensive ? Truly if it were best care for me then it would work with all my needs including finiancialy but specialst and referrals seem to be there only solution that equal 3x the amount you can spend, oh and don't book too far ahead the building might be closed no matter if you would have put money down or not.. hm isn't that what a down deposit is for .. but like I said all they want is money and finding more ways to get your money ! So disappointed after finding an office willing to put in the work to get this dealt with not just shrug me off cause you have only one doctor who sometimes comes on Monday for extractions ... so much for being an emergency clinic.

After having a terrible experience with my last dentist and the pain he put me through I hadn't seen a dentist in over 5 years with a lot of work unfinished. Decided to give this place a shot due to them doing sedation dentistry to help with my high anxiety. Upon walking in I filled out the paperwork, then off to x-rays and cleaning. Which I was able to have done while under sedation. Samantha the hygienist and Linda the dental assistant were the first 2 I saw both amazingly happy women who you can tell enjoy their work. X-rays were quick, cleaning needs to be postponed, but after a few appointments with Dr.Kan and years of not smiling due to the front of my teeth being cracked, I can actually day I enjoy smiling again. If I could recommend any dental clinic it would be this one. I will be sticking around at this one till 1 of 2 this happen. My teeth fall out or they close down.

Seriously amazing staff. They seem to be there to teach you what it is they are doing and how you can move forward with your oral hygiene. So kind and quick and just one of the best group of dental staff I've ever met. My husband (who has refused dental care for far too long) was smiling like crazy and is actually looking forward to his next visit. They are willing to work with you and the insurance company to find out prices and find out dates that are best for you. This is the place to go imho.

I thought I had hit the jackpot with this clinic. Everyone seemed so caring and helpful until I had my procedure done. After my procedure but, while still under sedation I was left to my own devices to walk back to the front desk. I could barely stand and was drooling blood and made to sit in the open and completely humiliated. The receptionist was tying to talk to me and I had no idea what was going on and was able to communicate whatsoever due to the procedure I had just undergone. Again, humiliating! I had a friend waiting for me in the waiting room (as instructed by the dentist) as I was unable to care for myself while under sedation. He was never called over to assist me after the procedure. If that wasn't bad enough... I was never asked to provide a credit card leading up to my visit and was charged 10 times what I was quoted over the phone, which I later found out I had paid via debit. It wasn't until weeks later that I checked my bank statement and then my benefits and noticed that my benefits had in fact covered 100% of my costs and kind of remembered paying. When I called to inquire about the charges and express my concern for my treatment while under sedation (really all they had to do was call my friend over to sit with me and help me communicate, stand, etc.) I was handed from one incompetent receptionist to the next, spoken down to and outright insulted. That was over a month ago and they have yet to issue a refund. They also reward (bribe) their patients with gift cards for writing reviews, I wonder if I'll get one... I'd be quite happy with the money they OWE mw and to never have to deal with this practice again.

Horrible slow service and incompetent dentists. The Crown I needed to be fitted took forever. And was not done properly in one sitting. Needed adjustment like 3 times. On top of that they missed the payment to my insurance and now I'm out 900 bucks from my pocket. Their response was that they tried to reach me and some nonsense about privacy act. Stay as far away from this dental office as possible. No consideration for the consumer.

This place is truly the best. The service is thorough & efficient, and the hygienists/dentists are kind and very informative. I was nervous to go back to the dentist after a few years but they made me feel so comfortable. Also- everyone on their staff is really pretty (haha not that it matters) but they actually look like a dentist office staff from a TV show. Like the dentist models in the google stock photos. They also direct bill. I would highly recommend.

Yesterday was my first experience at Ewart Dental. When I arrived I was welcomed by the friendly staff. They were very professional and they treated me well. I don't normally have good experiences when I go to the dentist but this experience was fantastic. There was no wait time and I got in right away. The cleaning and the check-up process was very efficient and I appreciated how they didn't waste my time. It was a painless experience and I'd recommend this clinic to anyone who needs a new dentist or has had a bad experience somewhere else.

My husband broke his tooth yesterday and Macleod Trail Dental clinic staff member (Jessica) figured out a way to get him today as he leaves at 4am to go work back in North Alberta! They direct billed his insurance and we paid the difference. They have also set up his follow up appointments based off his schedule and needing to be home from work to do it! Once there the staff was friendly, polite and explained all options and made sure we both understood before making decisions on what to do!

Hands down the best service I have ever received from a dentist. I have been self conscious about my smile for years and was afraid to fix it due to the severe anxiety I have going to the dentist. Dentists have always been rough with my mouth, insensitive to the fact that I am anxious or overcharge me outrageous amounts of money that I explained I couldn’t afford. The office staff at Macleod Trail dental we’re so understanding and gentle with me, they had a mix up on my file and when brought to their attention went out of their way to make sure it was fixed for me. I dealt with Ildie at the front desk who went above and beyond to make sure that all my appointments ran smoothly and that I felt comfortable with everything that was going on with my dental plan. I would recommend this dental office to anyone really, but especially people who have any kind of fear around going to the dentist or reviving dental work. Today I took my 16 year old son here for the first time. They were extremely professional and courteous. He was in for a cleaning and check up. They found some cavities but because they finished his cleaning early they were also able to fill a couple then and there. I am very impressed with this office and so was my son. He was quite nervous at the beginning but said they were very nice and helped to quickly ease any anxiety he had. We will definitely be going back to finish his work and will continue to see them in the future.

I used to be TERRIFIED of the dentist. After having some awful experiences as a child, I decided just not going as an adult would be a better idea. My husband brought me in to the office, and after meeting everyone, I was paired with Amy - who was incredibly gentle and friendly, and made the whole experience wonderful. She's since left the practice to go home, but I can still walk into the office with confidence, knowing that all of the staff and Dr. Ewart himself are some of the nicest and most caring people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with for my teeth! I use to really like coming to McLeod trail dental until they got this male hygienist who would try and sell me teething whitening products outside the dental clinic. I travel for work and have a new medication that caused me to gain weight. The one day I came in for a teeth cleaning booked in with a lady they said she was busy/had something come up/sick I’m unsure and asked if I would be okay with this man cleaning my teeth instead. He made a very rude comment about my weight gain that caused me to seek dental care elsewhere. Hearing that he no longer worked at McLeod I came back for an appointment. I unfortunately missed the appointment I booked due to my workplace not allowing electronics at work (so I could not call) and having forced overtime due to our vehicle breaking down. I explained all this and booked an appointment the following day. There was some miscommunication about what the appointment entailed and when I was trying to explain to the dental helper what was going on and my confusion it was met with hostility and she told me I was waisting her time. I had explained on the phone I did not want a cleaning unless it was covered by insurance and they said they would send it in before the appointment so I would know. When I told this to the helper she told me that my insurance was my problem to deal with not theirs. I also said that I had a sensitive tooth and I needed a bridge on the phone but it didn’t seem like they wrote all the information in the notes. The women who was hostile with me changed her attitude when the doctor came in for the inspection. I explained that I felt uncomfortable and that I didn’t think I wanted to continue this appointment. The doctor told me let’s do the inspection and then I can make the decision. Once it was completed I was finally safe to leave. I’m not sure what happened to this clinic. It use to be really wonderful! The environment seems really toxic now despite the good original crew still around. If you chose to stay or book and appointment make sure to stand up for yourself and tell the people trying to profit off their own business outside the clinic to pound sand.

Both visits, I have had very pleasant, friendly interactions with everyone working there. Both of the hygenists I have seen were very delightful human beings to talk with - or be talked at seems how you can't talk while someone is working in your mouth! The front end is very capable of making sure your insurance is cared for. They will bill multiple insurance companies, and make the process easy and painless.

Well I've only been to one other dental clinic but decided to try something closer to home and I'm glad that I did. It was a great clinic experience from booking on the phone to having left after the appointment.. Everyone is so friendly and pleasant. TLDR; Friendly and knowledgeable staff care about your wellbeing and health. I've been to several clinics over the years and most of the time someone finds a way to make you feel a little bad about yourself. Today was my first experience with this clinic, and boy oh boy was it different. We were greeted by an uber friendly receptionist who was bubbly and happy to see us. We filled out some paper work (being new patients, and the now ever-present COVID-19 checklist), handed them back to the receptionist who gleefully took them, and sat down. I barely had time to pull my phone out to check the time before I was called back. WOW. That was fast. The hygienist I had (I'm so sorry, I don't recall your name, even though you told me!) was awesome. She guided me through the xray process (I've never had the one, it was futuristic!). and then proceeded to clean my gnarly chiclets. The entire time she made sure I was comfortable, offered me something to reduce the sensitivity (I didn't take her up on this - I made my bed, I'll lay in it --- this time), and explained what she saw and what happened to cause her observations. WOW. I learned something. Then the dentist, Dr. Gill, came in. She gave me a little jaw massage (sadly, it wasn't as good as a head massage from a stylist, but way more functionable) and did a physical examination on my mouth and tongue. Who knew that your tongue played a role with your teeth. She ran off a bunch of numbers and letter to the hygienist and coupled them with some words that I've not heard used in that context (watch, buckle, cavity (kidding, I've heard that one before)) and then explained some of her findings. Spoiler: I get to go back a couple times. When Dr. Gill finished, the hygienist was free to finish descaling my teeth like the dragon skin covered pieces of rock they are and we set up an appointment for her to continue the process. Yes, my teeth are (were) that bad; I think I gave her a cramp in her arm and hand just from the first round. I'm happy to give her a break and go back another day (besides, I only have so much blood I can bleed from my lack of dental attention over the years). I'll return to this clinic. In fact, I will likely go back for maintenance and check ups too - typically I just go to dentists when I have a problem. If anyone there reads this: Thank you for not scaring me away. Thank you for being great. See you again.

The tech went out front to see how much and I was given a price which they said I could pay in two installments. They then told me it was substantially more. And now it is broken in two. Nice.

I came to know this dental office through an emergency. I was not sure what to expect but I needed service. They responded fast and professionally. I was amazed at the level of service and the speed. I paid cash, but the price paid was lower then I had anticipated. The facilities are modern and clean. My only complaint would be the parking provided is limited and confusing.

After ignoring some pretty annoying tooth pain and realizing I need to grow up, I randomly Googled sedation dentistry for Calgary and this dental office was the first to pop up. I went for a check up and had some dental work done with Dr. Lai over the last few weeks and I am VERY impressed with the service and from both Dr. Lai and her staff. They were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable. Definitely a patient for life now!!

Was there for the first time a few days ago. I know some people are not fans of going to the the dentist but this office will make you want to keep going back. The team (everyone that I met) were fantastic, they were fun relaxed and professional all at the same time. This guy knows what he is doing, clearly understands the science in his field and cares about the patients long term oral care. I went to Ewart Dental for wisdom teeth removal examination. It went well and the doctor explained my teeth situation, gave a prescription of antibiotic, and referred me to an expert. I don't know whether he is an expert but I will see. All staffs from Ewart are very friendly. I don't have dental insurance, so I get a courtesy discount. I will definitely try their cleaning services later.

Everyone was extremely attentive, supportive and just plain wonderful throughout the whole visit from reception to x-ray to hygienist to dentist. I mentioned that I was unable to pay much more above and beyond what my insurance covered, and they looked into my coverage BEFORE seeing me, and it was less than what was 'ball-parked.' I was warned a number of times that because it had been so long since I'd been to the dentist that I may have to return a time or two to do the full measure of scaling that could be required. Honestly, the scaling was my huge concern with my teeth and I really wish I had looked in a mirror before I left because amazingly, the incredible capable Jenna got it all in one go! We discussed orthodontic options to correct some crowding at the front, but honestly, I don't even really notice it now because they look so darn good! I would like to send her a digital high-five and huge hug for her efforts, and I will definitely be using Ewart as my dentist for as long as I am in Calgary. Thank you!!!

I have high anxiety about visiting the dentist, as many others do I'm sure. After much research regarding dentists I decided upon Macleod Trail Dental. I am in need of some major dental work so my anxiety was even higher prior to my first appointment. The entire staff was great and put me at ease right from the start. While sitting in the dental chair and talking with the dentist I realized that my anxiety level had dropped significantly. I was surprised and impressed by this fact. I'm not as stressed about my future appointments. I would gladly refer others to this clinic.

This dentist used to be good, but now they have a bunch of weird office policies where they require you to have a credit card on file, always call me at least 3 times before my appointment asking to move it around, and they charge you $75 if you have to cancel your appointment within 48 hours. But they can't keep an appointment themselves - I was informed today when I showed up for my appointment that it would be at LEAST a 25 minute wait. Would have been nice to get a phone call in advance, but no. Not worth your time.

Yesterday I had my first cleaning and check up at Macloud trail Dental in Calgary, I was amazed ????????. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. I had my cleaning and X-rays done by Kathy N. It was literally the best teeth cleaning experience I’ve ever had! ( As much fun as they can be haha ) I usually fear cleanings. They can be painful for some. Kathy not only walked me through the process and each step , she was an incredibly kind, awesome person to spend an hour with. Kathy educated me on proper dental practices and care. She holds a lot knowledge and makes sure to share it. I have extremely sensitive teeth, usually I’m crying in torture. Not this time, I literally felt zero pain. Kathy was very gentle with my mouth and my teeth looked amazing afterwards. The staff, everyone at this clinic is so wonderful and welcoming. Automated online system is a joke. Tried to book an appointment and several options showed up for the time frame and days I wanted so I selected one and thought it'd get a phone call to confirm, etc and go from there. I quite like the set up, the front desk and administration staff are excellent. You can sit down to go through your payments without feeling rushed or people are looking over your shoulder. The hygenists are awesome. One of the ladies came and sat with me while I waited for my freezing to kick in, because she knew I was nervous about getting my filling done. The dentists try to upsell you on everything. I’ve been told I was an excellent candidate for Invisalign, on my fourth visit, even though I’ve already had braces. That was the one and only time it was brought up? Then another dentist suggested I purchase a mouth guard, which I had already purchased from them during one of my first visits, maybe she just didn’t look at my file? I had yet another dentist tell me it was my tooth that was sharp and cutting my mouth, not the piece of metal attached to my teeth. After that, I lost confidence in the dentist team. My last note would be the pricing, for the services that I received, I paid about 15% more than the Recommended fees by the Alberta Dental Association and College. My benefits cover 80% of the recommended fees, so I only pay 20%. However, I pay 100% of the difference between the actual fees and the recommended fees. For my last appointment, this meant I was paying almost twice the cost I should have. I appreciate my hygienist and always and a decent visit (besides the 2 minute dentist interaction) but likely will not be returning and instead sourcing out a dentist who follows the recommended fees. I rated 4/5 because I spend the majority of the time with the hygenists and admin staff and it’s not their fault about the dentist lack of caring/attention or the pricing.

Awful experience at this place , I switched dentists over a year ago and I get a phone call saying that I owe an outstanding balance and that they sent me emails and phoned me which I have no records of that. I called very upset and then saying that it was my insurance companies fault and I needed to contact them worst part is this was back in 2018 and I just found out now in 2019 almost a year after with no notice or emails. When I questioned why didn’t I get any emails there response was oh looks like we didn’t follow up cause we were waiting on our end. It’s super frustrating as I wish I would have dealt with this before and for them to say that I was good to go and having no emails or letter by mails to notify me. I will never be back after this , as I am now worried about collections coming after me thanks to these people who aren’t doing there jobs and making sure every client is up to date.

Thought I had something stuck in my gum and my Dentist in Banff was unable to see me right way. This office was able to take me in right away and unfortunately found I actually had cracked my tooth and required a procedure which they happily provided a referral for. I went to there office today just for a check up as I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and it was time. I had called prior as I am a recent graduate and don't have the most money just laying around as any student or prior student is. I had just got a great benefits through my work so I decided I would check them out as they were open a couple hours earlier than my work so I figured I could get it done before work. When I had called I had read them off specifically as my list said what was covered by my benefits. I was informed it would be a little bit more expensive but not much because there rates are a little bit higher. I had informed them I could go no higher than $60 because of my budget. I had arrived for my appointment and before the hygienist(she was really really nice) started anything I had informed her again of my finances and what I am able to do and if something was not covered I couldn't get it done. Her agreeing that it will be fine I proceed with the check up..... Once finished I walk to the receptionist to pay for the bill thinking it was around $60. The receptionist then informs me the bill is $138.00..... Me getting pretty frustrated at this point because I had specified and done everything I could to make them aware and if they couldn't do it for that price, I could have just went somewhere that a co-worker goes in which he pays nothing over what the benefits cover for everything I had done. I simply chose them for the convenience of time and not having to take time off work. The receptionist then became very rude expecting that I pay, and then trying to get me to book another appointment for my teeth. I will no longer be ever going back to a place that doesn't listen to there clients needs and as far as I'm concerned; doesn't care. My hygienist was very nice and we had great laughs and I am very disappointed that I wont be going there any longer but I refuse to support a business that takes advantage of there clients.

And SUPER thorough in recording alllll the different things in my mouth (40% overbite, 4mm space here, 1 mm space here, etc) I don't think I've ever had a dentist be that thorough when cataloging me! Loved it. The office is crazy hard to find lol, but don't let that deter you! The maze it takes you to get there is well worth the prize at the end!

I found the Hygenist to be very attentive to updating my records and giving me information on even better dental care. What I was not happy with is the cleaning itself. It was done very quickly due to the amount of time spent on updating measurements and other information. I felt like she did very limited actual cleaning in my appointment vs the deeper cleaning i needed. When the Dentist came in to do the check up I found it to be limited as well.

My daughter was extremely afraid of the dentist and would scream and cry every time. I chose this dentist because of good reviews online. They were very patient with her and worked with her through her fears. After the first visit she was excited to return even knowing that she was going g to get needles for fillings. For sure the best dentist I have ever dealt with. I can not imagine going anywhere else in the future.

Upon showing up for appointment I was told that the moved me out of the schedule. I took the afternoon off work to be there. Wast of time. Response, I was told that you had called me to confirm. After checking my phone records I received no phone calls from the dental office. I was not told that I would still be seen. What I was told is that if the next appointment does not show up then they could see me. Very dissatisfied with your response.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT GO TO THEM!!! They are incompetent and do not care about the patient whatsoever. They make you believe that you need things that you don't need at all. When I went to a referral they hadn't sent any paperwork over; this has happened multiple times. I went to other dentists and said they were taking advantage of me. DO NOT GO TO THEM!!!!!!!!!!

Googled sedation dentistry Calgary and this is one of the clinics that comes up. Obviously I am not a fan of going to the dentist. I have had a lot of work done in the past and have a few bad experiences. I have very sensitive teeth and uncontrollable reflexes when I am in the dental chair. Went for my first appt back in November because I broke a piece of a tooth off and knew it was unavoidable to see someone. What a pleasant surprise!! Everyone in this clinic is amazing and Dr. Silver is fabulous. I needed a lot of work done, having not gone to the dentist for a few years and having bad dental habits when I was younger. When I heard it was conscious sedation I was concerned, thinking nope, I just wanna be fast asleep but, I have to say, I much preferred it. I had someone with me the entire time, I was never left alone. I was calm, relaxed (tired actually) and time seems to go by very quick. The assistants are great, never make your feel like a sissy for choosing sedation and I can't say enough about Dr. Silver. They also worked out a plan to keep me within my benefits maximum and their fees are closely matched to what my plans pays, which was not the case with my previous dentist. No hesitation about going for my appts now and even referred a good friend to this clinic, who I can tell you was just as happy as I was. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Friendly, helpful staff and a very efficient office. My only complaint would be that their costs are slightly above my benefit schedule of costs so even on procedures that I’m 100% covered for, I have to pay an out of pocket amount.
