I can’t tell you how wonderful Dr. Whitney and her staff are. I had a pretty challenging Root ???? Canal (I wish they’d call it a Root Makeover) to get done and these guys took incredible care of me. I have enormous dental anxiety but they were champs with treating me, using humour, calming me down and really just taking care of me like a human being. It’s not just Dr. Whitney, but Heather (Dental Assistant), the Admin staff, and everyone else go out of their way to treat me like GOLD????. I’m a patient for life. Incredible Team????❤️.

Amazing group of people starting at the front desk all the way to the dental chair. Very empathetic, especially if you have sensitive teeth. I left this clinic for a year to be closer to home(I live in the far NW), and came back cause these lady's are second to none. The drive into downtown is 100% worth it for the professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly/calming atmosphere.

She is the most phenomenal dentist, makes me feel so comfortable, and has me smiling at the end of the appointment. The front team, especially Elizabeth, is so welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. I would rather do anything than visit a dentist...especially on a nice sunny warm day but if I'm going to going to make the effort, Downtown Dental is my choice of 'poison'. They are warm, friendly, and seem to thoroughly enjoy looking in my mouth and making sure my teeth are healthy and clean (even if I am somewhat less stoked about people poking around in my mouth). With sensitive teeth, a strong coffee addiction, and red wine making a regular appearance in my diet, (i.e. anything that can stain my not so pearly whites) normally I am met with an air of judgement...BUT not here. If you want a dental clinic free from judgment, who offer a sensitive touch for that not-so-fun check up and cleaning, and with people who actually enjoy their job - then I would recommend Downtown Dental.

I started receiving my dental care at Downtown Dental this year. My family physician referred me to Dr. Yont and her team. I could not be happier! What sets Downtown Dental apart from other dental services is the staff and overall client services approach they embrace. The staff genuinely care for their patients. They take the time to explain what they will be doing and why. After one of my procedures, one of the staff, Heather, actually took time in the evening after working hours to contact me to follow up and ask how I was feeling. Was this necessary? Absolutely not but she did it. This is what I mean by a different approach to service. Instead of "give us a call if you need us", they proactively take the time to check in. I will definitely continue as a patient of Downtown Dental as I have, in a very short period of time, become very confident in their level of expertise with genuine caring - I personally could not ask for a better mix!

Dr Phil Brown, after accidently breaking off a tooth, (things happen I understand that) he provided zero patient service. The day it happened he just left me leave the office without offering what he can do for me to help my situation. After spending $10K on braces/dental work I was not going to leave a hole in my teeth so I went for a dental implant in which I had to pay $800 out of my pocket and no future dental coverage for a year because I had exhausted it. He offered nothing to fix issue. He took no responsibility by way of offering his service such as an impression to fix issue. He was not being asked for anything out of his pocket other than some time for an impression ($944) so that I can have a tooth made (my cost) and make it right. He refused! He also knew that proving malpractice is difficult and expensive and I was unlikely going down that road. Although he is a nice guy to speak with, it appears he is only interested in money and not customer service. What separates a poor doctor from a good doctor is when something happens the good doctor works with you to make everything good again. He is a poor doctor when something goes wrong and yes sometimes things happen but he should have been there to help make things right. For this reason both myself and wife will no longer go to him or anyone at this practice. Mark Ryan

I have been coming to Downtown Dental since 2009, and actually enjoy my visits. The office energy is calm, the staff are friendly and are always willing to go above and beyond. Every hygienist has been more than thorough with my cleanings, and take time to ensure every tooth is seen to until they are perfectly spotless. Dr. Whitney has a genuine interest in her patients beyond their teeth, which makes the whole experience more personal and comfortable -- exactly what you need if your pearly whites require a little more invasive procedures. Dr. Whitney clearly walks through procedures before touching you, and matches the pace of her clients -- if you're nervous, her caring energy will make you feel much more settled. Dr. Yont has filled in for Dr. Whitney for some of my appointments, and she is equally as fantastic and thorough. The team are always happy to see you, and I'm always happy to refer Downtown Dental over and over again.

What an awesome experience. The waiting room was awesome - toys, table, colouring station. But what impressed me the most was their wasnt toys thrown in a corner, and magazines spread about a table, but everything was clean and organized. Gave me the impression that staff really love where they work, and pay attention to the little details to make it a great place. This is not the dentist of my childhood - I felt very comfortable and pampered. Even the chair massaged me!

Five stars? Where is the 100 stars?! This place is phenomenal. I hate going to the dentist, no matter how you slice it, it's terrible. On that note, the ladies at the front desk are personable & helpful as all heck. My hygienist (Peggy) is practically like having a family member work on my mouth; she's so caring & attentive & informative. Then there is the nitty gritty work of Dr. Whitney and Cindy; I just felt like I was sitting in a pub chatting with 'the girls' about everything under the sun... except I only get to laugh, say "uh huh" (yes) or "uh-uh" (no). Regardless, it's such a comfortable place and I truly wonder where they've been all my life. No experience anywhere else like Downtown Dental. Thanks Ladies! Keep up the fantastic work.

Let me start by saying this, I HATE the dentist. I have had terrible terrible experiences as a kid and teenager with the dentist I grew up with. These terrible experiences led me to avoiding the dentist for more than 9 years. I recently started experiencing some pain and knew that I had to go in and get it looked at. I had heard some great things about Downtown Dental, Dr. Yont and the other dentists at this clinic. Let me tell you that as someone who despises the dentist out of fear, this place is one of the most compassionate, professional, and dare I say "fun" medical offices I've ever been to. Dr. Yont and her fabulous colleague Heather made me feel welcome and safe, and gave me very clear details as to what they were going to do procedure wise. I am used to having dentists and dental hygienists who pop in, do the job, and leave—without much conversation at all. Dr. Yont and Heather were EXTREMELY kind, had such great 'bedside' manner and fixed the problems I was having quickly and painlessly. I'm terrified of needles, the grinding sounds, etc. but Dr. Yont (also a wonderful yoga and mindfulness teacher) gave good pointers and tips on how to get through the procedure with minimal stress and fear. The dental hygienist I had was also great (great is an understatement). I now have a place where I can go if I'm experiencing any dental issues, and I would highly highly recommend you check them out if you're looking for a new dentist. Give the front desk a call, Elizabeth will help you out and will do her best to get you in at a time that is convenient for you. Honestly, this place is a gem. Go and check them out.

More Details: Having an awful experience when I was younger, I had not been to a dentist in 16 years. I was recommended this practice by a friend and could not be more satisfied with the result. It started with regular check ups, cleanings and even wisdom tooth removal. At first I was a skeptic at the necessity of everything they wanted to do. Processes were explained to me in great deal and the benefits and risks of every option were presented to me in a very comprehensive manner. Their methods are far less disruptive than expected and the results have been incredible. Above being talented professionals, what I appreciate most about the staff is the amount of compassion, caring and understanding I witnessed in every visit. They also fixed what I thought was a stain on my tooth that actually turned out to be residual glue from my braces (this would have been from over 15 years ago). No other dentist I've had since my braces had ever thought to try to remove this, and it only took a few minutes. This was a huge value add for me. Additionally, everyone at the office was incredibly friendly. I would recommend Downtown Dental to anyone!

I have been going here for many years, and even when I was living in another city came back to have my dental done with them - I trust them that much and they are that good. I've never found another dental office that comes even close to comparing. Dr. Yont is a dentist who truly and genuinely cares - you can tell that she really is in it to help people and she is warm and incredibly good at what she does. I actually feel like I walk away with much more than just my dental well-being when I come here (which is why I am writing a review, which I never do). Many people have told me that they feel shame or don't feel good going to the dentist (because lets face it, most of us DO need to floss more :)) - and I always tell them to go here. The hygienists are always friendly and helpful, and the front desk staff just so welcoming and great. In fact, every single staff member I've ever met here has always been helpful and lovely - how often do you find that? Hugely recommend!
