She's wonderful, friendly, and procedures that used to cause at least a little pain don't hurt one single bit when she performs them. I would recommend Pearl Dental to anyone and everyone. The office is inviting, modern, and clean. My hygenist is Erin, and she is fantastic! After moving to Burlington, I was looking for a good dentist, so I checked out the Burlington Post Reader's Choice Awards listings and discovered Dr. Currie. I found him to have a calm, reassuring personality which is excellent for a patient like me who has some anxiety visiting a dentist. As he works, I get the sense that Dr. Currie takes pride in his work as an artist or a craftsman. I am confident that my teeth and I are in good hands with Dr. Currie. His office also does direct billing of my insurance company so I haven't had to lay out a nickel. A couple of tips though... 1. They are not open evenings or weekends so you have to take time off work to go. 2. When they say two days notice to cancel an appointment, it's not 48 hours; it's two full weekdays minimum, which works out to be 72 hours - more if there's a weekend. 3. To be on time, make sure you get the address right. His office is not on Pearl St. as I initially assumed.

From the friendly greeting(s) of Paula and Lori at the front desk to the most professional hygiene staff I've ever encountered (Kris is my personal hygienist), Dr. Currie's practice is top notch. The office is wheelchair accessible (including the washroom), which is paramount for me seeing as I use a wheelchair and is immaculate. I have been seeing Dr. Currie since he took over the practice from Dr. Chomicki. I've had a couple cavities filled, 4 wisdom teeth taken out and countless cleanings/check-ups. The new office space looks great since the renovation a few years ago. It looks so much better! I like being able to schedule my next appointment with my hygienist as soon as I am done. It makes it easy so I don't forget. I also appreciate the email reminder as the date approaches. When you make an appointment 4 months in advance, it's good to get that reminder. My check-ups and cleanings are always on schedule and efficient. I like how my hygienist always explains what they are doing and keeps me in the loop regarding my dental health. It's nice to be informed throughout the checkup. For Dr. Currie I was amazed at how quick and painless the cavities were filled. He said it would take longer for the freezing to take effect than for the cavity to be filled and he was right. It was a breeze. Wisdom teeth were done without complications. Although perhaps having me fill the prescription ahead of my surgery rather than sending me doped up to the pharmacy and waiting for my meds with a mouth full of gauze would have been better! Thanks for a great experience as always Dr. Currie and the superb staff at Pearl Dental.

When I visited "Pearl Dental" for the first time in January of 2014, I hadn't seen a dentist in slightly more than two years. Needless to say, I was overdue for a dental appointment, and I was a little nervous about the state of my teeth. Once I walked through the doors of Pearl Dental, I felt an immediate sense of calm. The building is extremely classy, and the staff are friendly and professional. It was actually quite a relaxing environment. When I met with my hygienist (Kristine), she took great care to understand my dental history, and she was extremely knowledgeable. After Kristine had completed her work, I met with Dr. Currie, and we reviewed a wide variety of information. Dr. Currie is extremely polite and professional, and he treats you in a personal manner. It's no surprise to me that Dr. Currie was voted "Best Dentist" in the Burlington Post's Reader's Choice Awards. If you are looking for a dentist in the Burlington / Oakville area, I would highly recommend Pearl Dental.

They didn't rush me or make me feel self-conscious about it and that meant the world to me. Sept. 2018 Victor and Christine have been patients with Dr. Currie for probably about ten years. We find the receptionists to be friendly and efficient in booking appointments, sending reminders by email or telephone. Our hygienists have always instructed us on good oral care. Christine's hygienist discovered an ulcer and Dr. Currie looked at it right away. Christine then was referred to an oral surgery Doctor. On first examination the biopsy showed it could be pre-cancerous. Things have healed and Christine continues to be monitored and is doing well. After too many years(!) of apathy and denial, it was (strongly) recommended that I re-address my teeth. I was referred to Dr. Currie and Pearl Dental. I did the requisite Googleage and was pleased to read positive reviews across the board. I was booked for an initial consult, x-rays, etc. and long overdue cleaning. The whole adventure could not have gone smoother. Pearl's Covid protocols are thorough and straight forward. To a person, the staff were welcoming and attentive. Given the time since my last dental visit, they were prepared to address any questions or concerns I might have had. I was pleased to see that they are using the latest technology, cameras, etc. For example, x-rays are a lot easier to take today than a decade ago...who knew? Using these x-rays and photos, Dr. Currie explained my current situation, addressed my concerns and made sound recommendations for treatment. There was no pressure or false promises. Initially, I opted for a thorough cleaning of all my teeth, a process that required a couple of subsequent visits. For all three sessions I was in the capable hands of Erin, a delightful young Hygienist who was also attentive to my apprehensions as a first time patient. She fully explained each aspect of the procedure in advance and asked if I was okay throughout all three sessions. I now have the cleanest teeth in Burlington, and have booked appointments for the future work recommended by Dr. Currie. Whether you are a dental back-slider like me, or are right on top of things and need a dentist, I would recommend Dr. Currie and the great staff at Pearl Dental unhesitatingly.

It seems there are many people who feel as intrepid about their dental visits as I do. It has always been an unhappy but necessary task. When I moved to Burlington 6 years ago, I spent considerable energy in finding a good dentist. My search lead me to Dr. Currie and the Pearl Dental team. I explained to Dr. Currie about my past issues with dental visits, and they have done a great job dealing with my fears. From the first moment you enter, you are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Cleanliness is a top priority. Treatment plans are discussed clearly. I’ve had two crowns done on separate occasions, and I chose to have sedation with both. That was never a problem, even though it meant one of the assistants has to stay with me while the sedation wears off enough for me to get my ride home. There was never a feeling of being rushed. My teeth look the best they ever have in my adult life. I owe that to Dr. Currie, my hygienist Erin, and the rest of the Pearl Dental team. I’m so glad I found them!

My experience began with the breaking of a front tooth porcelain veneer bridge that I had done several years prior. My then dentist tried a repair that didn't last long and then a reworking of the damaged area and a new bridge. All was fine......for a while. Then while out of the country the new bridge broke and this time also broke off the post of my original tooth and things went down hill from there. Long story short, when I returned home my dentist told me the damage was so extensive that I would need a full reconstruction job to change my bite and repair other damages that resulted from the initial problem. He indicated this was probably beyond his scope and suggested I seek another opinion from other dental specialists. After meeting with others I came across Dr. Currie and his team at Pearl Dental. It didn't take long to know "this" was the place to get the extensive work I needed done in a professional and high quality manner. I had a shorter window of time to work with than was needed but they accommodated me in every way possible. From start to finish I never once doubted that this group was interested in my long term dental health and now that this major project is completed I can say "all is well" and food has never tasted better! Always make you feel at home. A blanket will be offered to you if your cold or if you need it for comfort. I felt so comfortable with the staff and Dr. that I brought my slippers in with me the day my,wisdom teeth were being pulled. My two wisdom teeth were pulled right in the office. Coming from someone who has had one disasterous dental experience to another, I have finally found a place where they really do care about there clients. The experience I’ve been having at pearl dental has been exceptional. I have had several dental procedures done by Dr. Currie and his wonderful staff. One of the recent procedures was wisdom teeth removal. Even though I chose not be sedated for the removal of my upper wisdom teeth, Dr. Currie and Veronica were extremely considerate, supportive and empathetic. The removal of my bottom wisdom teeth, with sedation, was a successful experience as I did not feel any pain throughout the entire session and did not have ANY issues/ complications afterwards. I did have some soreness but nothing unbearable and out of the ordinary. The dentist and his staff are very friendly and caring as they check on their patients’ wellbeing constantly. I love the atmosphere there as I feel at ease and as if I’ve known everyone for a while. Also, the clinic was extremely accommodating with my busy university schedule as I had constantly rescheduled appointments. I highly recommend this clinic for any dental procedures especially wisdom teeth removal. I’m sure you will have the same unique experience that I’ve been having with them.

Dr. Currie was recommended to me by a family friend. I had an impacted wisdom tooth that needed extracting. I was in a lot of pain and my appointment wasn't for 20 days. I called them and let them know of the situation and they squeezed me in the next morning. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Dr. Currie took the time to explain procedure. The actual procedure took less than 15mins. I had no swelling and was in almost zero pain. Had an amazing recovery. I have been going to see Dr. Currie and his staff for a couple of years now. Prior to that I hadn't seen a dentist in over 15 years. I avoided going to one because I couldn't get past the fear. The thought terrified me. When I first went to see Dr. Currie, I was a nervous wreck and in tears. Not because of anything they were doing but because I was so scared. I no longer avoid going to the dentist and regularly visit Dr. Currie and Erin, my dental hygienist. Like Dr. Currie, Erin helps put me at ease with her reassuring and comforting bedside manner. So my search started by asking people if they knew of a great Dentist and Dr. Currie‘s family came up found his father‘s office which he had retired so they gave me his son Dr. Currie I found him up made an appointment and to my surprise he was the one I’m looking for! I Don’t live in Burlington I do have to travel an hour and a half or two to see him which I gladly do. He is the best Dentist I’ve ever had in my entire life, we spoke about my concerns when I did finally get my work done I left the dentist office feeling great calm and knowledgeable! Dr. Currie is calm listens to what you have to say and explains everything to you while he’s working on you! Awesome work! Staff is friendly, did a great job on my teeth, and the rates were great. I was also able to get my work done quickly because they use an awesome automated system that texts you reminders about your appointment, opportunities to move into cancellations, forms to fill etc. Nice to see a business using technology properly. I have been to 2 other dentists in Burlington previously and they dont really compare.
